That is not true. You have 3 excellent Air warfare destroyers that have just been upgraded with the new generation tomahawk cruise missiles and the Harpoons have been upgraded not only in these ships but also the Anzac class vessels by the highly capable Navel strike Missile. Yes the force is still too small for the job expected of it and yes there is arguably plenty of work to do on the Submarine and OPV(type) classes but it is far from nothing.

North Korea is reportedly constructing nuclear submarines with technology transferred from Russia, and already possesses 80 nuclear weapons. This situation is concerning for both South Korea and the United States. The presence of two rogue states in Northeast Asia is particularly alarming for Japan and South Korea, nations heavily dependent on maritime trade. Consequently, it is natural for these countries to focus on military expansion.

  • @kimincheon7
    @kimincheon7 7 днів тому +5

South Korea's military might deals with North Korea outwardly but is geared towards China internally. For South Korea, North Korea's nuclear program serves as a good excuse for its military buildup. Two Koreans, South Korea and North Korea, have a lot in common. They are basically the same people, with only different systems. Some South Koreans support North Korea's nuclear development because it gives a unified Korea the right to possess nuclear weapons. Though they are a small number, they are now the leading force of the large opposition party, which has a very high possibility of taking power.
The ballistic missile of King Jeongjo's ship is a bunker buster now, but when Korea is unified, only warheads need to be changed to nuclear weapons..
So, the South Korean government is not very active in the North Korean nuclear issue. The regime in North Korea can change at any time. That may be tomorrow. And the two Koreas could be unified at any time. A leader could die at any time, and a regime could change at any time. Looking at South Korea now, you can understand why South Koreans think so. Everything changes in North Korea as long as Kim Jong-un disappears, and everything changes in South Korea as long as the president changes. So, there is no need for the people to come forward and go to war at all. However, the possibility of war on the Korean Peninsula is very high. If the pro-Beijing regime collapses in North Korea, Chinese troops are expected to invade North Korea. For South Korea, it is considered a territorial invasion by China. So, there is no choice but to go to war with China. Polls show that South Koreans do not want to be unified. This is not only because of economic damage for the rich South Koreans, but also because of the fear of the price that they have to pay for Chinese interference. However, few South Koreans accept North Korea becoming a Chinese territory. Even if it is going to be an all-out war with China, it probably is. The emergence of a democratic and unified state on the Korean Peninsula, close to the capital Beijing, would be a great fear for China. Chinese interference is inevitable, and Koreans will not be able to tolerate it either. Koreans are the closest country to China in the world, but also Koreans are the ones who hate China the most in the world. The people closest to Japan in the world are Koreans, but also, those who hate Japan the most are Koreans. That is what happens when countries fight against each other without complete victory or complete defeat for 2,000 years..
There are two systems on the Korean Peninsula, but Koreans living in completely different systems have many similar ideas... One can understand why North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who is absolutely dependent on China, sent troops to Russia despite China's fierce opposition. Just as South Korea rejects Japan whenever it has a chance, North Korea abandons China when it has a chance. Perhaps many people were surprised to see South Korea's Yoon Suk Yeol on the emergency martial arts show. They have different systems and tremendous economic levels, but they are the same Koreans with similar ideas..
50 years ago, South Korea developed nuclear weapons and missiles in opposition to the withdrawal of U.S. forces during military dictatorship. It ended when the South Korean president, who was pushing for it, was assassinated. What the North Korean regime is doing was the same thing the South Korean regime did against the U.S. 50 years ago..

Native Korean pronouncing his nation's ship. In his case, ar 4:15, he clearly enunciates with a "j" in both syllables in Jeongjo.
The reporter and the Hyundai employee then visit the Chungnam. His pronunciation is like "choong-nam"/"chung-nam".

    It's NOT "jee-ohn-joh", ever.
    It's far closer to jon-joh, or chonh-joh...
Google Translate is (one of) your friend(s), if you seek it. Perhaps tour AI voice actor needs a cultural update/upgrade.
    정조
    정조대왕
    Pronounced closer to "Cjhohn-joh day-hwang"
(Similarly, Spanish and other languages have compound consonants that are difficult for language learners, but come easily with quick, earnest practice.)
But, any authentic-voiced Korean translation app could help you before release of vids having Korean words.
The AI tools are sorely lackluster/lacklustre. Don't rely on them for things you can verify via commonly available native language tools.
    Otherwise, nice imagery.
The Atago, Maya, Sejong, and Jeongjo are excellent revisions of the Burke, look cleaner/sleeker/more intimidating.
    Thanks for the visuals.

If the displacement is around 10,000 tons, it should be at least as large as a nuclear-powered cruiser.
But since it is not, there may be a problem with the operational radius.
And since there is no aircraft carrier, it seems that free operations are still impossible. But it is better than nothing.
