Could be for a machine gun company type organization. 100 m60 gunners and four 50 cal m2 crews per company. Maybe some heavy infantry battalions are being formed. Back in the 80’s we were training to fight the Soviets. The Russians are not much different. Their propaganda machine isn’t so great any more. The US legacy media has the market cornered on that score. But, heavy infantry in Eastern European woodlands would be a perfect use for m60’s.

Dont say "no aircraft" - the B1A has canards/whiskers. You missed some others and some of the images of the aircraft with canards were wrong as well. The F-5 never had a canard version. The second image is the X-29 and the last was not the F-35. It was a potential Navy version of the F-22. There was also the F-15 ACTIVE that had canards and thrust vectoring AND my favorite, the X-31 EFM. Hands down the coolest supermaneuverable x plane we ever made. Where did you get your info? Its bad. Or did you just guess?

The two pilots had been arguing about who had the better plane before they went on the exercise and decided to finally settle it. Look it up.

I highly doubt these weapons are headed to Ukraine. The Ukraine war has been a boon to defense contractors who lobby extensively to maintain their stranglehold over foreign aid shipments of weapons. Refurbishing old M60's for this purpose makes little to no sense. There has however been extensive talk about declaring war on the Mexican Cartels using tier 1 assets (SF) and having the Mexican Army provide backup in major battles. Being that SF prefers these weapons systems to their modern counterparts it would make sense to refurb them for this purpose. At times there is need to move fast and bug out of bad situations, leaving heavy equipment behind, sabotaged with explosives as a trap, including heavy weapons systems that are out of ammo or low on ammo. They might even supplement the Mexican Army with these weapon systems in an efford to standardize logistics between SF and the supporting Mexican units. Given that the Pentagon has already made statements that they are actively preparing for Trump's intended goals this scenario makes the most sense for the sudden acquisition and refurbishment of these outdated but clearly superior weapon systems (though the M240B is nothing to scoff at).

i remember being in the Idaho guard and they still had them among the chinook gunners. They are a great weapon the 240B also is a good weapon :) But the .50 Maw Deuce is KING but it's so overkill it's a battle field weapon for heavy armor and combat!

The M60 is still a viable platform. Yes the M240 imho is a much better platform, it’s probably much cheaper to refurbish a ‘60 than buy a new ‘240.
