As someone who has gotten lyney as soon as his rerun came, my argument against the artifact issues is the way his stacks work either way. 5:20 Not speedrunning doesn't mean casual, you can play teams at somewhat low invest or play bad teams and reset in a chambers for 2 hours I think 2p2p is fine but when you don't kill enemies instantly, marréchaussée can pull ahead by a lot, especially if you get hit while charging your charged shot or if you start at low hp and Bennett heals you like 2 ticks before your first charged shot
You saw how 4MH is at most 7% better, and around 5-7% better assuming the absolute best uptime for it, which is already a very unrealistic assumption. The video also shows how unless everything goes absolutely perfectly, which is a very bold assumption to make for a shieldless Lyney team, 4MH can actually end up being worse. I don't know how you read all that information and reach the conclusion that 2pc2pc is only viable if you're killing enemies instantly, when it very clearly provides more consistent damage no matter how you're playing. It should be very telling to you that speedrunners, who obviously are more willing to use less reliable/RNG dependent setups for more damage, still choose to use 2pc2pc even though it's technically worse. Even the people willing to reset for hours on end to shave a few seconds don't want to use 4MH, because clearly its uptime isn't actually very good in practice, and you're not going to be fully buffed most of the time.
@@marxismpotatomaybe read my comment before replying to it, first of all, I said 2p2p is fine, second, he assumes you start at full hp and are fighting a training dummy which minimize the marréchaussée uptime. When you get one of the conditions I mentioned or even other ones like the pyro dot from 12-2-1 or even corrosion, it's basically 18% atk (3.6 rolls) vs 36 crit rate (11 rolls and it's crit) which is about 15-20% more dmg so yes, I believe that for most people, marréchaussée is better than 2p2p, it's not needed though
@@Poochyvert I read your comment in its entirety. The answer of "just get hit and then get healed" or "just start at low HP" is a very poor way of playing Lyney, because if you're playing shieldless Lyney and you get hit a few times, you are going to end up dead. A dead Lyney is not stacking MH buffs. If you aren't playing shieldless Lyney, and you're playing him with ZL, then why are you low HP in the first place? Surely you're not arguing that 4MH being good against one specific enemy type and one specific abyss debuff, both of which very sporadically appear in the abyss, means that 4MH is actually BIS. Also, his calcs show that 4MH is BETTER in theory against a training dummy. He also elaborates it's perfectly fine to use it on him, just that it's not necessary, and often you'll actually be losing DPS in PRACTICE, even including the examples you've mentioned. You can believe what you like and argue what you want, but Lyney's HP changes by himself simply do not stack all MH stacks, and he is the last character in Genshin where you should be trying to get hit on purpose, or be low HP on purpose, due to his extremely low base DEF and HP. If you're playing a shield, then the only way you'll be losing HP is by facing rifthounds, which is one specific enemy type that is usually present for one floor only, if they're in the abyss at all.
@@marxismpotato I would think speedrunners wouldn't use something that needs to ramp up because they kill it too fast. If fights end too fast it actually is weaker. technically worse but is it functionally worse in the situation. speedrunning has different rules.
Usually when Lyney gets hit or is low hp he either just straight up dies or gets staggered out of a charge atk and wastes your dmg anyway. Whilst it’s definitely possible to use that to your advantage to stack mh faster, I don’t think it’s a consistent solution at all. At best it probably helps for a few fights here and there, but like I said in the vid, are you really gonna farm months and months for that? Well it’s your choice at the end of the day
Hey, I'm aware my question is dumb, but I'm considering to get Liney and, to be clear, I don't like Bennett. My Bennett is lv 20 and I'd like to keep it that way. That said, what could be the best Bennett-less Liney teams? Would Chevreuse be good then? Like Liney, Chevreuse, Kuki and Dehya. Since there is little to no setup, Dehya's uptime would allow several CA for Liney, I'd guess. Also Kuki could allow more flexibility to when trigger an Overload and keep the pyro aura on the enemies. Also, I understand that Liney as the only Pyro would make him lose up to 40% of PyroDMG, but would a team of, like, Liney, Kazuha, Zhongli and Nahida to keep the Pyro aura from Burning, be usable in Abyss by any chance? Or should I just not pull for Liney? xD I kinda just want to use the characters I like and be able to clear content, I don't care about the BEST teams.
Would you recommend (2pc Pyro + 2pc ATK) over (2pc ATK + 2pc ATK) ? I got some lucky pieces on the crimson witch artifacts and also have Klee. I'm excited to pull for Lyney's C1! Already have him and his signature weapon. He is extremely fun to play!!!
I can’t play Lyne without shielder. Tbh I accidentally got Lyne and at the time I did not have a bow for him and was close to pity on weapon banner, a 10 pulls gave me his signature bow. Few days later I had full hunter set. Found he was not criting. Increased his crit rate, then saw your video on YT, tried to go mix set but unfortunately the stats can’t beat my hunter set. Even if I went to 67 or more crit rate my hunter set is better than mix set (ATK based set), unless I used 2 em 2 ATK or 2 ATK 2 hunter set. Still I’m not sure what set to go for. And as I can’t go without shielder then who should I go for Xiangling or kazuha??
i play on mobile + cannot aim but all the characters i like are bows so i have to force myself to get used to their playstyle and it hurts my soul. at least ganyu prepped me up for lyney because otherwise he would've stayed benched in my acc.
My personal favourite team is replacing Xiangling with C6 Chevreuse in mono-pyro. Keep Kazuha. I don't care that Chevreuse is normally designed to be a healer or to use overload, she does MAD damage with her skill and burst, and doesn't need nearly as much energy. Xiangling is always my point of stress in content and removing her made Lyney feel much better. No need to stand in melee range, no need to funnel, no need to extend your rotation to 20s for her burst if you have to do a second one, none of that.
16:25 in tournaments. Its basically neuvillette on one side and lynney on the other. Thats the best teams you could theoretically run in the recent abysses with single target on one side Xiao is up there. Navia isnt as strong in C0 or low cost tournaments
Childe is far better in AoE, while lyney is most likely better against bosses at c0r1. Childe is a more complete character, good for every scenario both aoe and St. So, I would say Childe is a better carry
@@alatuseditsLyney has way higher dmg, cieiling and even better cons as well as being at least top 5 strongest dps rn but ofc childe is easier and less niche. Not trying to hate just what I’ve seen and from experience
@@Marz333 I said c0r1. It doesn't matter if he has broken cons since the majority will never get them. And childe is just as complex to play, if not more
Well childe international required precise rotation but he's easy to play while lyney is kinda hard to play but better than childe for pure damage and easy rotation.
The value of not resetting when clearing Abyss is different from person to person. I don't only do Abyss when I still have rewards to claim. I do it for fun on different teams, and not having to reset to me is not very valuable. Therefore, for someone like me, Neuvilette is actually boring. Just because you value not resetting in Abyss, doesn't mean that everyone else does, and things being boring or not are generally subjective. It's okay to want to clear Abyss fast, never reset, and then not touch it until the next window, but conversely, it's also okay to want to have the experience of clearing Abyss be more exciting.
Neuvillette makes it less likely to reset, but the possibility is not zero. Few teams at high investment need to be played so perfectly that ruining a single rotation is going to cause you to reset your chamber. Unless you're doing something like playing Hu Tao first half of this abyss, where you absolutely cannot have Neuv falter on the second side.
i also do abyss to try out multiple teams but neuvilette is still valuable for me as i can have a guaranteed strong team on 1 side and i can have an experimental team on the other.
You can clear abyss without resetting with any top carry, that isn't neuvillette exclusive thing bruv. Only, with other carries you won't get bored out of your mind.
Lyney isn't hard to play tbh, you just need to dodge well. Compare to Arlecchino, Lyney is super easy to play. If you wanna no brain it, just Zhongli it...
So... just dodge with Arlecchino as well? You can even do it while animation canceling out of her combos to not even lose any dmg (if you can time it to enemy attacks), compared to Lyney for who it would be a bit of a waste to dodge while charging an aimed shot. Neither is really too hard to play for me now, but, at least for me personally, it took a bit more time and practice to play Lyney well than Arlecchino.
How mechanically viable is it to just use his burst/skill and just swap him out sub dps style? I actually like Lyney as a character but I'm absolutely disgusted with the Ganyu style bow charged atk gameplay.
... Sorry, but there are some oversights (and even some straight BS) in this video: *[**3:23**] MH isn't that good / Go 2pc+2pc / open your rotation with Q:* You _can_ start your rotation with his Burst _but 3 charged attacks are still needed,_ even at C1, _to cap the 5 _*_Prop Surplus stacks_*_ for his E,_ So Marechausse is _indeed_ the best set overall. *[**12:03**] His rotations* _aren't_ *flexible:* Do you want to do good AoE damage with his E? Then you need to do Charged Attacks first. With his C2 you WILL want to stay ~6s on-field, anyway - which is enough for either 3NA+Q+E or Q+3NA+E. He only loses his Marechausse crit stacks if you do something st00pid like doing 2 charged attacks, swapping out for more than 5s, then going back into Lyney for Q+E - WHICH YOU SHOULDN'T DO ANYWAY, AS HE NEEDS PROP SURPLUS STACKS AND MARECHAUSSE AND EVEN CRISPY FOCUS IF YOU HAVE HIS C2. *[**6:09**]* Lyney doesn't need Furina to max MH: he can do that in 1~2 Charged Attacks with a "fast" healer (e.g. Chevreuse with her 1s ticks)... but he STILL wants to do 2+ CAs due to Prop. Surplus. Stacks. Also: *Vape* (Reverse): DON'T, as Lyney _loses his 4th Asc. Passive without a Pyro aura_ (60%~100% DMG); *Vape* (Forward): OK, but _only Kazuha and/or Xiangling can apply more pyro_ than Furina does Hydro; [6:31] *Shielder* problems: ... C4 TANKFEY exists, so there is no such thing as choosing between "having a a shielder" and "running triple Pyro". Zhongli sucks, as he is slow and Lyney doesn't need THAT strong of a shield (again, as he stays 6~8s on-field at max per rotation and part of this period has i-frames from his Q and E). Finally, a grouper isn't needed AS LYNEY IS SINGLE TARGET AND USES A BOW WHICH HE CAN SHOOT AT THE GROUND MOST OF THE TIME ANYWAY (Yae + Chevreuse is almost too much AoE, and Yanfei fits the last slot absurdly well. Leave Bennett + Xiangling to other carries, as they use that core better FFS. _again: Lyney only needs a shield for his ~3 Charged attacks, as Q and E give enough i-frames and mobility._ Also, he already gets almost too much ATK from Chevreuse and his R1, so why the fuck are you pairing him with Bennett and playing Circle Impact?!?!?! [12:29] *Overload* "problems": ... YAE MIKO exists, so there are no problems. Fischl is for NA / Aggravate. (Yae is better than Fischl for Overload procs, as the totems can go for 3 different targets. Last slot can be Yanfei or even Xinyan - no need for Bennett.);
Since his release he’s been my strongest pyro character, tbh his mono pyro team w zhongli Bennett kazuha is insane even if u dk what you’re doing it’s fast. U barely even have to charge atk if u don’t wanna lol
14:20 vaping HIS attacks? Why would you do that. His kit allows him to practically vape with a pyro aura and it vapes every attack cuz its not actually vape. Instead by having your furina vape. Your lynney doesnt take a damage hit and your furina damage shoots way up
I dont understand why you say: This team (furina vape) is good, but you have to use a specific rotation And then say: This team (overload) sheets as the highest, but it's bad because you have to use a specific rotation. These are pretty conflicting ideas, why wouldnt people who want the highest output have a problem following a specific rotation to get that dps?
I don’t think I said that for the overload team? iirc I say it’s underwhelming dmg wise and scuffed for a bunch of different reasons. Whereas vape is actually strong but does have playstyle difficulties and more limitations compared to mono 🤔

@@jamiekb9v I don't know how since since Klee has shorter range, less i-frames both from burst and her model and gets one shot in this Abyss. Where did you get the art crop of Lyney in the screen cap?
just got it from official art google search
13:30 they are playing a charged attack character. If there is one person in this world who doesnt mind charged attacking, its a lynney player
17:01 and What about who care about that do you recommend lyney?
Maybe one day they'll give us an option to charge attack with bows without zooming in to 40fov, then I'd give lyney a shot
Yeah that was annoying at first but I got used to it
5:20 Not speedrunning doesn't mean casual, you can play teams at somewhat low invest or play bad teams and reset in a chambers for 2 hours
I think 2p2p is fine but when you don't kill enemies instantly, marréchaussée can pull ahead by a lot, especially if you get hit while charging your charged shot or if you start at low hp and Bennett heals you like 2 ticks before your first charged shot
Or should I just not pull for Liney? xD
I kinda just want to use the characters I like and be able to clear content, I don't care about the BEST teams.
Nowadays Lyney Kazuha Emilie Bennett is probably my new favorite Lyney team. Would Unfinished Reverie be worth it over Marechaussee?
I'm by no means an expert or anything, but I'm managing 100k damage on Wander's With Talent lv 5.
Do you think this would go up? to Decent damage?
Nice guide
Would you recommend (2pc Pyro + 2pc ATK) over (2pc ATK + 2pc ATK) ? I got some lucky pieces on the crimson witch artifacts and also have Klee.
I'm excited to pull for Lyney's C1! Already have him and his signature weapon. He is extremely fun to play!!!
Looks like atk atk is only 0.3% behind atk pyro from his calcs
They are basically the same thing so whichever one has better substats!
@@jamiekb9vthank you for answering 😃✨
I would try both zhongli xl and kazuha xl see what you prefer. But commonly most people prefer zhongli xl more! You can try that
Who’s better him of Wrio C1; in Bennett, Xiangling, and Furina?
i lov lyney, but i think i havent enought to made him a good dps
i play on mobile + cannot aim but all the characters i like are bows so i have to force myself to get used to their playstyle and it hurts my soul. at least ganyu prepped me up for lyney because otherwise he would've stayed benched in my acc.
For me furina vape team is more comfortable. Furina is a direct counter to pyro shield.
Is amos bow good on lyney cuz I will not be pulling on the weapon banner
I didn’t do weapon calcs in this video unfortunately you might have to reference another persons video for that!
Better use skyward harp
Amos bow only works for CA and lyney focus on CA skill and Burst
I wish I got Lyney last patch...
I'm getting him next patch
So did you get him?? :))
16:25 in tournaments. Its basically neuvillette on one side and lynney on the other. Thats the best teams you could theoretically run in the recent abysses with single target on one side
Xiao is up there. Navia isnt as strong in C0 or low cost tournaments
Who’s better him or Childe in: Bennett, Xiangling, and Kazuha?
Is 2pc MH + 2pc atk just as good as 2pc atk + 2pc atk?
lyney usually has a lot of atk from his weapons, pyro res and bennett, so if you are doing 2 or 3 ca's 2pc mh 2pc atk should be slightly ahead i think
5:20 Oh that made it to the vid ?🤣
Yep, the topic wasn’t about your comment by the way but just using it as an example of various other comments 👍
LYNEY: strong but hard to play
NEUV: STRONG, EASY to play. And before anyone says he's boring to play, at least you can clear abyss without resetting
I main both.
You can clear abyss without resetting with any top carry, that isn't neuvillette exclusive thing bruv. Only, with other carries you won't get bored out of your mind.
7:35 wait what? In lynney furina. Its not lynney whi shoulf vape, its furina
actually in lyney furina kazuha bennett, lyney is the one who vapes
I actually like Lyney as a character but I'm absolutely disgusted with the Ganyu style bow charged atk gameplay.
not ideal since his kit functions by each part of his kit increasing dmg of other parts of his kit. you probably won't enjoy him then
@@jamiekb9v Thanks for the quick response brother. Kind of a bummer, but I'll try think about it.
... Sorry, but there are some oversights (and even some straight BS) in this video:
*[**3:23**] MH isn't that good / Go 2pc+2pc / open your rotation with Q:* You _can_ start your rotation with his Burst _but 3 charged attacks are still needed,_ even at C1, _to cap the 5 _*_Prop Surplus stacks_*_ for his E,_ So Marechausse is _indeed_ the best set overall.
*[**12:03**] His rotations* _aren't_ *flexible:* Do you want to do good AoE damage with his E? Then you need to do Charged Attacks first. With his C2 you WILL want to stay ~6s on-field, anyway - which is enough for either 3NA+Q+E or Q+3NA+E. He only loses his Marechausse crit stacks if you do something st00pid like doing 2 charged attacks, swapping out for more than 5s, then going back into Lyney for Q+E - WHICH YOU SHOULDN'T DO ANYWAY, AS HE NEEDS PROP SURPLUS STACKS AND MARECHAUSSE AND EVEN CRISPY FOCUS IF YOU HAVE HIS C2.
*[**6:09**]* Lyney doesn't need Furina to max MH: he can do that in 1~2 Charged Attacks with a "fast" healer (e.g. Chevreuse with her 1s ticks)... but he STILL wants to do 2+ CAs due to Prop. Surplus. Stacks. Also:
*Vape* (Reverse): DON'T, as Lyney _loses his 4th Asc. Passive without a Pyro aura_ (60%~100% DMG);
*Vape* (Forward): OK, but _only Kazuha and/or Xiangling can apply more pyro_ than Furina does Hydro;
[6:31] *Shielder* problems: ... C4 TANKFEY exists, so there is no such thing as choosing between "having a a shielder" and "running triple Pyro". Zhongli sucks, as he is slow and Lyney doesn't need THAT strong of a shield (again, as he stays 6~8s on-field at max per rotation and part of this period has i-frames from his Q and E). Finally, a grouper isn't needed AS LYNEY IS SINGLE TARGET AND USES A BOW WHICH HE CAN SHOOT AT THE GROUND MOST OF THE TIME ANYWAY (Yae + Chevreuse is almost too much AoE, and Yanfei fits the last slot absurdly well. Leave Bennett + Xiangling to other carries, as they use that core better FFS. _again: Lyney only needs a shield for his ~3 Charged attacks, as Q and E give enough i-frames and mobility._ Also, he already gets almost too much ATK from Chevreuse and his R1, so why the fuck are you pairing him with Bennett and playing Circle Impact?!?!?!
[12:29] *Overload* "problems": ... YAE MIKO exists, so there are no problems. Fischl is for NA / Aggravate.
(Yae is better than Fischl for Overload procs, as the totems can go for 3 different targets. Last slot can be Yanfei or even Xinyan - no need for Bennett.);
Your lynney doesnt take a damage hit and your furina damage shoots way up
If people are stupid and can't play Lenny it's not Lenny's fault
I dont understand why you say:
This team (furina vape) is good, but you have to use a specific rotation
And then say:
This team (overload) sheets as the highest, but it's bad because you have to use a specific rotation.
Ganyu is way easier
Idk if i want father or son 😩
I have no idea how anyone can look at bow characters as "Hard to play".
You have range, a lot of it...the hardest part is just learning how to aim...
Try playing him on the top half of this abyss
@@jamiekb9vWhile I do not have him, I don't think it would be harder then something like Klee or Yoimiya shieldless as an example.
Hell, just cleared just to make sure I wasn't talking out of my rear for this and...yeah, wasn't hard at all. Consecrated Beasts on the other hand, if they were in this Abyss, I could see a point being made.
@@Rpground klee is much easier to play without shields than lyney. We also know this is true for casual players since klee's highest usage teams are usually the same as the speedrun teams like klee bennett kazuha furina and klee bennett kazuha xiangling before. whereas as discussed in the video lyneys most used teams usually have zhongli.
@@jamiekb9v I don't know how since since Klee has shorter range, less i-frames both from burst and her model and gets one shot in this Abyss.
The sample sizes aren't really indicative of anything with Lyney being at more then 3x the usage rate then Klee...
Stats also say that before you even get to Lyney on the first half it's just the same Kleerina team for him...
Now your "Try playing him on the top half of this abyss" makes even less sense because everyone's playing him on the bottom half and Klee on top.
It’s not hard. It’s just a boring playstyle.
Copelia would like to know your location
Lyney got everything i hate on a character.
A Little boy wearing stripper's short shorts.
A Pyro unit who is highly dependent on kazu beny.
A bow- charge shot user.
.
He's got all 3 pairs of the worst attributes.
I don't care even If he does 10M dmg per shot, he will always be garbage tier.
Skill issue
And?
Then this video wasn't targeted at you, close it and move on. There is no point in spreading unnecessary hate for a character, even if you don't like them.
Who asked, go play your waifu-bait character.
Who's better at c0r1, c0 supports with f2p weapons.
Lyney or hu tao? With perfect play.
Lyney is better if u sacrifice shielder and go for furina or kazuha
Lyney has been shown to be on par with hu Tao even in his worst situations it depends what playstyle you prefer (both take skill to max dps) you can say he’s more niche but why wouldn’t you play him in his best team and he’ll obliterate most content that’s doesn’t have pyro shield/immune enemies
I don’t play hu Tao at c0
C0 supports u mean 4* or 5* stars? Cause c0 hutao xiayun furina yelan is way stronger than c0 lyney xiangling kazuha bennet but she's way harder to play with the plunge combos so u might just go for lyney for comfy and easier gameplay while still having a great dps (hutao main here)
@@K0smosX I meant c0 5 stars
