BIG CORRECTION BELOW I want to apologize because I screwed up on Heizou’s story. When I was simplifying the vision stories, I over-corrected and it lost the emotional core of the story. This is the long and more detailed version.
While at a festival, Heizou met a young boy who was the son of a wealthy merchant family and would gift Heizou with books from sumeru and toys from Fontaine. However as they got older, Heizou would notice that the friend’s clothes were always ragged and they decided to have an honest conversation. The reality was Heizou’s friend was a thief and they only met at that festival because the friend tried to steal from Heizou. While the friend tried to laugh it off, Heizou was furious and ended his friendship with the boy. Heizou then threw away all of the gifts that the boy gave him. The last gift was one of two small green pebbles that they fished out together, which was the only honest gift. Heizou tried to throw it away but it bounced off a window and under his bed. A year later Heizou went to the festival where he first met his friend with the green pebble. Fate brought them together when he found his friend bleeding out. The friend had come to the festival and got into a fight with someone that tried to steal the friend’s purse. Heizou tried to save the friend but it was too late. The friend opened his purse and revealed that the only thing inside was the other green pebble. The friend’s last words were “I…came to see you too”.
Heizou had felt rage at something that had corrupted his friendship and loomed over the world. This corruption was sin and Heizou’s purpose was to combat this sin. Heizou now carries a green stone that represents his resolve, but instead of an ordinary pebble, it’s a vision. I honestly didn’t expect so many people to click on this video, so I treated this as more of an experiment. In the future, I’m going to make a more detailed explanation of vision stories and I’ll keep improving the quality of my content.
Enlightenment strikes a person in vary personalized ways, if a vision symbolizes one’s ambitions, and is granted at an indeviduals most despretly point in there lives, and they display a true force of will, then that event is always going to look different for each person Ambition strikes us in many ways, it’s not wished for so much as it is carelessly rewarded Some people almost die before they realizes they want to do something more with there lives Some people are always pursuing there ambitions, but much like a trial, there’s one critical moment that proves to them beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they themselves are dedicated and committed to said ambition It’s not something someone else can pursue for you ether, not even the gods A vision is more like a badge that assists an indevidule with ambition who’s shown not only that they can handle it, but that they have earned it, not just in the eyes of the gods, but in there own eyes as well, to an exstent Albedo dident even bat an eye when he got his, he figured it was just bound to happen at some point
@@Ashyririyea same, Layla is one of my top favs and she is soooo relatable and I think every student wants to be like her as in finishing every task given in time even though we have it suffer through the ‘lack of sleep’ (which I think we already have)
My favourite fact about Yoimiya is that she spent weeks using her vision as a flint and then tossed it aside, thankfully her father found it and nearly shit himself because girl that’s a vision???
Honestly, the fact that Lyney asked for a delusion just so that he could go on missions with his sister, probably while even at least being aware of the consequences of using one, is kind of sad.
@@HopeIsADrug11037 Arleccino is a much better father than the previous one, she genuinely cares about them. Her predecessor lied to Freminet telling him his parents never loved him, and Arleccino is there to fix the damages to these poor kids.
I like Collei's. When we meet her in game shes pretty sick and a bit meek because she's recovering from trauma and trying to live a normal life. But from her story lines and manga, she was a pretty feral and stuck in survivor mode. When she got her vision she defended the child from monsters all night, and didn't have to use the evil sealed god remains within her.
i've thought that in the past too. Tighnari is a little extraneous in my opinion. Releasing two dendro sumeru forest ranger archers at the same time? He fits a role in the story yeah, but I'm not sure he even needed to be playable. I guess they wanted Collei to mirror Amber, so made her 4 star sumeru beginner character.@@BoodyCheek
Nobody bloody believed me when I said Navia got her vision from a game of D&D (like it just... *spawned* next to a freaking d20 or something) They genuinely thought I was BSing 😭
A few NPCs also have Visions too. Due to so many in Inazuma confiscated and in the archon quest we can assume visions are fairly common elsewhere. We can make some guesses on how they got Visions for a few in Inazuma based on their ambitions, but Rana in Sumeru is the only one we really know how they got a Vision.
I doubt Vision can be said to be "fairly common". They only managed to confiscate 100 of it after 1 year (Thoma's was the 100th one to be inlaid upon the statue), even accounting in people escaping, it's not a lot. Plus, the Vision hunt decree didn't really stir up the public at all, Inazumans were more trouble with the Sakoku Decree instead, which to me means that only a very small minority has Visions.
I highly doubt having a Vision is common. Its definitely more on the rare side, considering everyone holds them in high regard. Plus 100 Visions in a densely populated area is not alot. And it's never stated how long it took to get those Visions either.
@@xChaosFlower its stated the vision hunt decree was established 2 years prior to our visit to inazuma, as fischl’s (?) vision was the last electro one awarded since
"Ningguang was pissed because she could not sell her vision anymore" NAH AINT NO WAY SHE STILL WANTS TO SELL THE VISION THAT GRANTS LITERAL ELEMENTAL CONTROL
Why would she want a vision when she has so much already, money, political influence, hardworking secretaries some of them with visions all willing to protect her
Alhaitham's is the one that frightens me the most, since one of the deadly sins of Teyvat is ''Not looking for the origin of words''. Celestia did something there.
so, from what I've seen, this is a basic rundown of what each vision is MOSTLY given to Anemo: Given to those that want to be free from something or wish to make piece with their life, such as Jean wanting to be free from the pressure of the Fatui/Abyss Order and fulfill her duties, Kazuha making peace with his life as a wanderer, Heizou wanting to be free some the sins of the world by combatting them, Wanderer wanting to be free from his past Geo: Given to those who are hard-working, such as Gorou wanting to help his allies improve, Albedo wanting to use his vision to help him in alchemy, Noelle continuing to work to become a knight Electro: Given to those who want to prove their own strength, like Beidou slaying the monster at sea , Dori trying to get mora for her bedridden sister's medications, Razor wanting to get revenge Dendro: Given to those who seek something. Like Alhaitham seeking knowledge, Baizhu seeking immortality, and Collei seeking out the young girl who got lost, Kaveh seeking to build the palace by even selling his childhood home Hydro: Given to those who wish to help/protect others, like Barbara helping the young boy and Candace wanting to protect the village, Ayato protecting his family, Kokomi wanting to protect Watasumi Island Pyro: Given to those who are passionate about something, like Bennett not giving up even after being injured, Amber being passionate about gliding/finding her dad, Diluc being passionate about making his father proud and protecting Mondstadt, Lyney wanting to become stronger so he can go on missions with Lynette, Xiangling's cooking passion Cryo: Given to those who want to prove themselves, such as Chongyun wanting to prove he's a good exorcist, Charlotte wanting to prove herself a trusty reporter with evidence, Eula wanting to find her own path and show she's more than what her family made her out to be, Ayaka wanting to prove herself a goods swordsman, Shenhe slaying the best that her father tried to sacrifice her to
Overall, I'd say visions come with 3 main backgrounds: 1. Performing a great feat of bravery. Slaying monsters, opposing senior academics, rescuing people in bad weather... 2. Being capable of changing the world through your discoveries, songs, authority or something. 3. Resolving to change your life to something more impressive. While the element seems more connected with personality.
Most of these overlaps, like Lyney passion of getting stronger, why are you so sure then that that's a pyro thing and not an electro thing if he also seeked strength? Also for hydro, wishing to peotect something, what did Childe wish to peotect? What did Furina wish to protect? And why didnt they get pyro cisions for their passion, or Furina get an anemo for her freeing herself from her past?
11:43 I just wanna clarify bc heizou is my fav chr- he didn’t “grow apart” from his friend. he told his friend he didn’t wanna see him ever again bc he felt betrayed, and threw all the gifts his friend had stolen for him out the window except for a green pebble- they’d fished two out a pond together and they didn’t try to reconnect, not even close lmao. heizou was forced along to a festival about a year later (the same festival they met at) and saw his friend bleeding out on the ground, after having tried to steal someone’s wallet and being stabbed bro died in his arms and said smth along the lines of “you came to see me too?” revealing the second green pebble he had with him, I think heizou showed his pebble too THEN he ran away from home and got his vision lmao. I love the quote it gives for that in the story too- I can’t rmbr the exact words but it was smth along the lines of how the green pebble he had now was his vision (I know this video is VERY simplified explanations, heizou’s description just felt WAY off)
OMG YESSSS CORRECT VISION STORY OF HEIZOU THANK YOU i always feel like crying every time i read his vision story it's so sad and heartbreaking 💔😭 HE'S MY FAV CAHRACTER TOOOOO
The baizhu part is a little incorrect, the contract with changsheng doesn't shorten lifespan, it's just that her adeptal art can heal a person at the expense of the health of the person who made the contract with changsheng. The excessive use of this art can bring their death, and since everyone who made the contract was always been too selfless to the point that they will always willing to exchange their lives to save someone, including baizhu's master, the contract became more like a loop of curse, making baizhu wanting immortality so that the loop ends with him and that's when his vision show up
It does shorten your life a little bit, but because she also balances your chi, you're essentially perfectly healthy and will live for that maximum amount of the remaining time (which in most cases is a net-gain for average person she contracts with).....unless you use her power to draw people's illnesses into yourself, which does shorten your life due to the extra strain of purging so much sickness, like every one of her contractors eventually chose to do.
electro char and their vision stories are always funny. they're fighting against their lives/society or can boil down to, "ME WANT VISION PLZZ give". beidou, dori, : fought for her life. cyno, lisa: "man , a vision could make this work so much easier" poof. fischl: cried herself to getting a vision and an imaginary friend.
I think Neuvillette actually can choose who gets a vision? Ei says that the Archons have no direct control, and Neuvillette's Vision story confirms that's the system Celestia has in place. But Neuvillette isn't beholden to Celestia's vision gacha, and has full Authority over Hydro. He gives them out because he acknowledges human will. Furina's Vision story also states that to her, her Vision felt more like a reward for her past deeds than any fervent wish. This is in contrast with the system Celestia has where the requirement seems to be a wish becoming so strong it starts reaching the realm of the divine. Plus given how Furina's Vision is the only one with both Pneuma and Ousia, and conveniently right after Neuvillette regains his authority he states that he has full control over both, it stands to reason Visions given out by a Sovereign are a bit stronger than what you might get from an Archon, or perhaps Neuvillette can even choose how much of his mastery he can chip off to give to any particular person. Of course, there's currently no confirmation on whether Neuvillette can choose or can't and is stuck using the same system Celestia made, but his Authority being higher than the Archons and Furina's thoughts on her Vision suggest that Neuv is able to just skip the wish requirement and can simply have a Vision manifest for someone that he believes is valiant enough to be worthy of a dragon's treasure.
The divine throne for Hydro was destroyed, so Neuvi is no longer bound to the restrictions of Celestia. Plus Furina's Vision has Dragon teeth/claws on it so your theory does hold some weight.
Ei said the Archons don't CHOOSE WHO GETS A VISION, and neither does Neuvillette. They just give a fraction of their power in the form of a vision to people who, somehow, "deserve" it unless, yk, you're Lisa, then you just ask for it
@@koul_is_eternal It isn't stated anywhere that Neuvillette has the same restrictions as the Archons at present, I believe. To quote it directly from Neuvillette's Vision Story; "From that day on, whenever a person's wishes reached the heavens, the seven overseers of the material realm were duty-bound to grant them a gift. Though they might know nothing of who or what wish had stepped into the threshold of the sacred, the Seven Archons still had to impart a shattered shard of their mastery to that person. And when one so gifted completed their duty... the gift the gods would receive in return would be more abundant still. Neuvillette obeys no edict from the heavens, but he does acknowledge human will. So he too set aside parts of himself, as like unto the dragon-treasure hoards of old, awaiting valiant humans to come and claim them." That plus Furina's Vision Story; "But during the actual performance, a real Vision appeared, and it belonged to Furina. Visions are usually objects that appear in response to humankind's most fervent wishes, but this one, in particular, seemed more like a reward for her past deeds." If Neuvillette was playing by the same rules as the Archons, he would require Furina to have a wish, regardless of what it was. Some characters like Lisa, Albedo, and Alhaitham just have it handed to them, but they probably also had some wish worth using it for. Furina meanwhile believed she got hers for doing the last 500 years of work. That plus Neuvillette's About Furina line suggests he was waiting for an opportune moment to give it to her, and her return to the stage was exactly that. Again, though, we don't have any actual confirmation whether Neuvillette can or can't choose who gets a Vision, just circumstantial evidence that suggests he can choose based on Furina being the first to get one, and it's a noticeably stronger than usual vision at that. In hindsight that makes sense since Sovereigns are equal to/capable of matching the world of Teyvat with their full Authority. But we'll just have to wait for more details/confirmation on whether he can or can't choose, eventually.
@unboundking9742 its implied that neither the archons nor Neuvillette choose who the recipients are, but they simply have to allocate some of their own divinity and the visions are granted automomously. The archons do it because Celestia benefits in some way from having humans walk around with visions, while Neuvillette does it because he thinks people should be rewarded for their determination. Nowhere is it indicated that he has any actual say over who the recipients actually are.
Something that i find weird is how some NPCs don't have a vision. Jeht for example, she has a whole backstory and ambition. We've seen Rana get a vision for nothing so being an NPC is not a problem. Other examples are many NPC's from other quests
@@akarifuyuki9763 I know, that's what i'm complaining about. Other example: Ellin. She's literally just as determined to become a knight as Noelle yet remains an NPC....
Beidou’ story will forever be my favorite. A woman named after death with a ship that is named after misfortune - killer of the great sea monster, to receive a vision in the moment of slaying the beast. And then to forever hold the enemy’ attacks against them and deliver it back at them with full force. Perfection.
from what I've read, hydro vision holder usually or 99% of the time get their vision by the extreme ambition to protect people. example, Barbara and the small boy, Furina and the people of fontaine, Kokomi and the people of watatsumi island, etc.
It's not about the game. the geo vision is given to those who found stability and strong belief in what they have, Navia received her vision while enjoying her time with her friends and her dad proving that she really appreciated the life she lived among them, it's a wholesome story but also a sad one, given the fact that they all ended up dead and she is totally alone now.
Ye, right? We can try to adjust it. Basically, she "roleplayed" as Princess Fischl from childhood and remained into the role since then. Her parents are infact named as "Kaiser"(King) and "Kaiserin"(Queen) of her estate. One day, for her birthday, she asked them to properly roleplay their roles but due to the fact that she was already almost a grown-up they refused so she fled. She fled and cried alone and thought about Fischl's story so hard that the role of Oz(if i remember correctly) was taken by her sheer imagination. More precisely, Princess Fischl has always her loyal servant by her side and she felt so alone and sad that created Oz through sheer force of will(Oz is infact considered a construct of Electro). Doing so, she earned the vision and continued the roleplay as we know it nowadays^^
So, in my own theory; a Vision appears at the start of growth. Not as a 'trophy', but as a way of telling someone "you're doing great, keep going! You're going on the right path now."
Why are the stories so different from each other? Bennett had to ALMOST DIE and so did Qiqi. Kaveh cooked a meal, Alhaitham read a book, Lisa thought about a vision, and Tighnari and Layla said “‘um, actually!! 🤓” and then they got a vision 😭
Commenting for algorithm because THIS is the content I enjoy in this game and look forward to. I appreciate how they care to put whole backstories you can dive deep into for each character and you made a great video that's easy to consume for those that might not like reading long text, so I hope this reaches more people!
My favorite is probably furina's My least favorite is ironically from my favorite character, kokomi Like, its such a missed potential???? Its literally written as something like "as the divine priestess kokomi naturally has a vision" WDYM????? no other character has a vision story as mysterious as that, even itto has a story as bad as it may be, then there come kokomi like "oh youre so silly! Of course she has a vision!" It makes me so frustrated that this has so much potential yet they literally do nothing with it. instead they go out of their way to destroy all potential she has. WDYM SHES A NORMAL HUMAN? SHE CAN BREATHE UNDER NORMAL WATER I HAVE NOT SEEN OTHER CHARACTERS DO THAT YET? oh yea she just has a vision! Oh, her eyes are super weird, dont look at that! Her constellation is a dragon, but that means nothing!!!! Point is: no other character has a vision 'because it comes with the job' that doesn't make any sense 😭😭😭
I think it implied all head priests and priestesses of her family get a Vision... but that still raises a lot of questions like bruh no one else's family works like that?
@@EternaMidnight EXACTLY. What's going on with her family and job? 😭😭😭 Girl that's not how visions are supposed to work Vision family tradition is WILD
I am under impression that for Albedo and Sucrose, their vision "comes with the job" too. Maybe it's how it works for any academic type who isn't useless - at some point, their contribution to science gets noticed and they get a vision? Likewise, any performer who is good at what they do, eventually gets a vision. But maybe Kokomi doesn't have her own vision, but a vision that is passed down in her family? Which becomes a masterless vision when they die, and then the next priestess bonds with it? That's the kind of story that should have been told, though.
@@EternaMidnightyeah I thought her vision was even passed down from her parents?? Which is odd But beidou was making people compete for a masterless vision so it might not be that weird?
Agreeddd Kokomi has so many weird little details and it’s all just glossed over. Inneed Neuv to be like I can feel the dragon power in you, like a little droplet of my power went into your soul Idkk
4:33 I fele like you incorrectly portrayed furinas story. She told her life story for the first time EVER, she allowed herself to be genuine and play a part that was her own. THATS why she got the vision. Because she was finally allowed to feel human.
This reminds me of Disney Pixar's Soul, as people thinking something enlightening or meaningful have to give you that "spark" to be able to be born, when the Jerries stated (while chuckling about it a bit) that it's not that big of deal, and *anything* can create that spark or the will to "live" (be born or exist from being a soul). A lot of Genshin characters got their visions through the unconventional and... can-be anti-climactic ways, even though some through heroic causes.
10:42 , the sad thing is that Qiqi's vision story is so sad but you know someone has to sit through getting her to friendship level 9, so RIP to whoever had to do that
3:10 love this reference to how the townspeople say hes king deshrets descendant even tho hess not i dont blame them tho when does one see a smart, strong and ALBINO general
I LOVE vision stories, this video was an interesting refresh! Though some things i think are very important within some stories are the characters perseverance. Bárbara sang for HOURS even when her throat started getting dry and hurt. Some characters like diona were actually starting to align só hard with their element that wet places turned to ice when she decided to go after her father
Just wanna put out that in the manga it is stated by Kaeya that Diluc got his vision at the age of 10 and got promoted from a knight to a captain at 14, the youngest captain in the history of fivonious, also Diluc gave up the possession of his vision for 3 years at the age of 18 after his dad died and he was pissed that Varka had agreed with fatui to give credit to Dottore for slaying the beast rather than Diluc's dad who died doing so, Diluc literally tore of his uniform jacket yo which his vision was attached to and left the ranks of fivonious. He got his vision back at 21 when Kaeya gave him the ugly ass vase -that is still at Dawn Winery and yes you can interact with it; as a replacement for the one he broke and snuck the Pyro vision inside. So ig Diluc saw the vision in the vase after he got back home and just kept it? Anyways what I got from it is that Diluc, Kaeya, Lisa and Jean are in their late 20s, somewhere between 27-30
I'd recommend checking out Neuvillette's vision story. It gives an insight on how and why visions are granted, and a hint of why Furina's vision in particular is unique As for my favorite vision story, Keqing's and Gaming's come to mind. I like how they initially feared that the existence of their visions would invalidate their hardwork/passion. It's an interesting perspective
ARANARA QUEST SPOILERS /// We can't forget about Rana who we actually SAW get a vision in game. She decided she wanted to keep exploring the forest with Arana and a glowing spot opened over her heart and she found herself a holder of a dendro vision. (I may be slightly misremembering but I do know her decision to go with Arana was the catalyst and it came out of her heart)
Xingqiu: **actively revives an entire martial arts clan, becomes a internationally known author, does his older brothers job and practically runs a major piece of the Feiyun Commerce Guild and does all this while still making time for screwing around with his friends, all at the ripe old age of 16-18** Celestia: “TAKE A VISION AND CALM TF DOWN GODDAMN.”
A note on Diluc: He earned his Vision after he gave up the Delusion he was using to hunt Fatui. Diluc had an abnormally high resistance to Delusion corruption, to the point that he became a prime target of research for Dottore. But thanks to Kaeya, Jean, and Amber, he gave up the Delusion and decided to fight on without it (and save himself from falling to the fate his Father suffered). It is implied that his boundless determination to protect Monstadt, and his unquenched fury at the Abyss and the Fatui granted him his Vision.
My *favourite* theory is that visions are given to characters with ambitions matching the archon's secondary titles (e.g. Tsarista god of love, Barbados god of freedom, Buer god of wisdom, etc.) but with the info we have so far, only about half seem to match the theme. And my favourite conspiracy theory is that some characters like Lisa and Itto lie when they tell people their vision stories which is why they're so vague.
What was your favorite and least favorite vision story? Out of all the current Vision stories, Itto's is the most disappointing. The vision stories I recommend reading are: -Baizhu -Heizou -Beidou -Lyney -Lynette -Kaveh -Navia -Yelan Xianyan
I agree, Lyney and Lynette's almost made me tear up, especially Lyney's with his desperation to keep up with his sister, both were so impactful and even better together.
Keqing's vision actually is literally: I hate the amount of power the gods have over the humans! Morax: I also hate it, so i'm going to give the power over Liyue for it's people. Keqing: Yes liyue is for the peop- WHAT!? *Meanwhile* Celestia: Bros, she hate the gods and the concept of their gifts. Wouldn't it be funny if we gave it to her?
itto didn't just wake up and got it, the point of it is that he received it after finally being independent and making a living by himself. it represents his stability and start into cohabitating properly with humans while being true to who he is and not outshinning others. geo visions are all about well. being a rock. stability and stubborness and determination in face of a goal. thats why itto got it when he got it. his vision story revolves around him learning the true value of it and having a lesson about each person's worth despite their background and abilities which is the whole point of his entire backstory i can see why it can be dissapointing if you just read it straight up, but there's a lot of nuance that i feel just got left out or ignored
Old school characters : Strife, suffering, crystallization of "will", rebirth, self discovery. New characters : Oh I just woke up and got my Vision. Finished a book and got another one. Decided to do chores and there was yet another one in the sink.
So I feel like Fischl's story isn't being given the proper credit, because her feat is quite insane. Basically, Fischl was so sad over being told to grow up that she cried so hard she basically BROKE REALITY and made her fantasies real, birthing her lightning raven in the process
I feel like over time the devs either lost interest in making backstories or couldn’t think of anything and just wrote the most random shit for how characters got their vision.
I love how we have characters who have almost died for their vision (Bennett), constantly fight for a whole day to protect their nation (Xiao), or finally become true to themselves and receive one (Wanderer), and then you have Cyno, Alhaitham, and Itto. By the way, whoever keeps granting anemo visions needs to learn that a sleeping tanuki, a puppet, an overworked woman and someone who is driven to insanity aren't the best people to give visions to..
Knowing that archon directly giving Visions to people I said Venti just throwing vision to anyone he think he's funny Mavuika definitely the queen of that thing since she saw Xiangling scream "I WANT TO COOK"' and Xingqiu playing funny music and decided "this girl is something I shall bestow them the power to change the world"
Everyone: sad, good, interesting stories. Itto: took a nap (stonk) Navia: roll a dice (ultra deserved) Nikou: just dance Yoimiya: "Klee, you need a lighter?" Kleepenheimer: EXPLOSION
I love vision stories and some of them are are like: “lol I just wanted one to I literally almost died to get a vision” Win a game to get a vision Finish a book to get a vision To I don’t want to die please freeze time 😭 I’m bl3eding out and literally am dying I neer some divine power I was sacrificed to a monster and I defeated that monester Like hello girl 😭
poor yelan looses friends and colleagues all the time damn... no wonder she can't stop talking about ningguang cause she probably is yelan's friend or someone bigger who has been around for the longest
Ningguang, Beidou, Yelan are holy trinity of Liyue. Closest friends and most powerful women in politics/business, military fleet and intelligence service of said region.
beidou: i had to fight a beast for several days with basically nothing and lost an eye in the process for a vision lisa: i asked for it because research
think it should be mentioned that Chongyun’s vision story mentions “He received one of cryo, instead of pyro” or something similar along those lines. Not sure what it implies but it its interesting it was mentioned at all
12:05 Childe does in fact have a vision story! When he was younger he fell into the abyss and had to fight to survive for 3 months (it was only 3 days for the rest of Teyvat) with the help of Skirk
Do we know that it's how he got his Vision tho? The whole "fought for his life for three months" story is mentioned both in his char stories and in the Fontaine quest, but doesn't say anything about him getting his Vision during that time period.
There's not a single world mentioning his Vision in these stories. We don't know if he gained the Vision while being in the Abyss or after he came back from it. Skirk is a swordswoman, she very well could have taught Childe how to use weaponry only.
@@Los99-r8z no, he didn't join on his own, Childe's father sent him to the Fatui, hoping it would temper his battle hunger. It's in his character story, go read it 😭
1:41 beidou is my favourite because of the parallel between her killing the sea monster in one strike and Ei killing orobaxi (also a kind of sea monster) in one strike
Jeez i had no idea Dori's story was so sad it explains why she so mora hungry and is willing to sell anything and everything while squeezing every last mora she can out of every transaction
I really loved reading characters' vision story. I loved Hu tao's especially. However, sometimes it is too long so videos like this is really a great help.
what I got until now: Dendro: Dreams Pyro: Passion Geo: Duty Anemo: Past Electro: Belief Hydro: Dedication Cryo: Determination They all share ambitions but the reasons of each element comes to how the ambitions of each character works for them
Oh right, I acutally forgot about that bit after Furina got her vision, that was mentioned in her character stories HAHAHAAH that Local Legend was supposedly something that Furina messed with only for it to get angry at her. So when she got her vision, she tried to get revenge but ends up losing anyways HAHAHAHA
I feel like a lot of important nuance is lost here so I wanna add some details in general: Geo characters: their vision is granted when they have a deeper understanding of their role. Sometimes, the vision comes first, but often within the first week there’s an epiphany. Itto didn’t just get his vision. He got his vision, and quickly realized that he was being a problem making a big deal, so he toned it back and commented on others self worth, possibly it’s because he took Ms Hina’s other advice besides the spectacle cloth to heart, but one way or the other he Learned Something. Anemo Characters get their vision through reconciliation with their past regrets. Lost friends. Doing what’s needed not what’s easy. Inner peace. In a way. It’s ‘ at the end of their journey‘ so it seems more obvious. Electro Visions come with a cost, and usually that cost is blood. Sara was falling to her death and her vision made her dedicate her life to the Shogun. Lisa got her vision with ease but now lives in constant fear of whatever arcane knowledge she discovered upon receiving it, possibly linking her lifespan to her vision and making her force quit her academic studies. Fischl got her vision in a moment of personal loneliness and despair, but there is an insinuation that she was, in fact, whisked away on a journey that changed her life forever and came back on the same day with a world that won’t acknowledge her change. Pyro visions come from their passion, often one to continue in the face of defeat. Pushing past human limits, continuing a journey despite every road block. Weather or not Dead Dad Syndrome plays into it remains to be seen but at least Gaming can avoid those allegations. Cryo seems to be Pyro’s natural opposite. If pyro is passion, Cryo is restraint and perseverance. Layla’s personality split to try to give her a more normal school life but she still pushed herself in her sleep deprived state to prove her mettle without Night Layla. Chongyun’s Yang Energy is especially a passionate version of him that would be perfect for Pyro, but he seeks to control himself for the sake of being able to actually perform his duties. By utilizing their curse / blessing, they can overcome anything. Speaking of Duty, that’s the common thread with Hydro. Hydro characters have a duty to uphold. Village chief. Bureaucrat. Healer. Dancer. Guhua master, and their vision comes from their dedication to their duty even when it would be easier to not do it. Lastly, we have Dendro, and this seems to be, terrifyingly simply, dedication to the right thing. It wouldn’t be right, letting this massive project go unfinished. It wouldn’t be right to curse another person with Cheungshen, nor would it be right to let cheungshen die or waste the snake’s gifts. It wouldn’t be right to let widely taught misinformation be left unaddressed.
BIG CORRECTION BELOW
I want to apologize because I screwed up on Heizou’s story.

IM STILL SHOCKED HOW AMBER
AMBER. THE 4 STAR STARTER CHARACTER. HAS A MORE INTERESTING BACKSTORY THAN THE ACADEMIA SCRIBE
Enlightenment strikes a person in vary personalized ways, if a vision symbolizes one’s ambitions, and is granted at an indeviduals most despretly point in there lives, and they display a true force of will, then that event is always going to look different for each person
Ambition strikes us in many ways, it’s not wished for so much as it is carelessly rewarded
Some people almost die before they realizes they want to do something more with there lives
Some people are always pursuing there ambitions, but much like a trial, there’s one critical moment that proves to them beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they themselves are dedicated and committed to said ambition
It’s not something someone else can pursue for you ether, not even the gods
A vision is more like a badge that assists an indevidule with ambition who’s shown not only that they can handle it, but that they have earned it, not just in the eyes of the gods, but in there own eyes as well, to an exstent
Albedo dident even bat an eye when he got his, he figured it was just bound to happen at some point

I like Collei's. When we meet her in game shes pretty sick and a bit meek because she's recovering from trauma and trying to live a normal life.
And it's never stated how long it took to get those Visions either.
and there's also a fisherman near Wangshu Inn that discarded his vision because he did "bad thing" in his past.

Alhaitham's is the one that frightens me the most, since one of the deadly sins of Teyvat is ''Not looking for the origin of words''. Celestia did something there.
he was looking into the the original sins???
so, from what I've seen, this is a basic rundown of what each vision is MOSTLY given to
Anemo: Given to those that want to be free from something or wish to make piece with their life, such as Jean wanting to be free from the pressure of the Fatui/Abyss Order and fulfill her duties, Kazuha making peace with his life as a wanderer, Heizou wanting to be free some the sins of the world by combatting them, Wanderer wanting to be free from his past
Geo: Given to those who are hard-working, such as Gorou wanting to help his allies improve, Albedo wanting to use his vision to help him in alchemy, Noelle continuing to work to become a knight
Electro: Given to those who want to prove their own strength, like Beidou slaying the monster at sea , Dori trying to get mora for her bedridden sister's medications, Razor wanting to get revenge
Dendro: Given to those who seek something. Like Alhaitham seeking knowledge, Baizhu seeking immortality, and Collei seeking out the young girl who got lost, Kaveh seeking to build the palace by even selling his childhood home
Hydro: Given to those who wish to help/protect others, like Barbara helping the young boy and Candace wanting to protect the village, Ayato protecting his family, Kokomi wanting to protect Watasumi Island
Pyro: Given to those who are passionate about something, like Bennett not giving up even after being injured, Amber being passionate about gliding/finding her dad, Diluc being passionate about making his father proud and protecting Mondstadt, Lyney wanting to become stronger so he can go on missions with Lynette, Xiangling's cooking passion
Cryo: Given to those who want to prove themselves, such as Chongyun wanting to prove he's a good exorcist, Charlotte wanting to prove herself a trusty reporter with evidence, Eula wanting to find her own path and show she's more than what her family made her out to be, Ayaka wanting to prove herself a goods swordsman, Shenhe slaying the best that her father tried to sacrifice her to
Ngl, that's an interesting take on Cryo.
Kaeya trying to prove to himself that he wouldn’t hurt the city of Mondstadt in battle
Overall, I'd say visions come with 3 main backgrounds:

Of course, there's currently no confirmation on whether Neuvillette can choose or can't and is stuck using the same system Celestia made, but his Authority being higher than the Archons and Furina's thoughts on her Vision suggest that Neuv is able to just skip the wish requirement and can simply have a Vision manifest for someone that he believes is valiant enough to be worthy of a dragon's treasure.
what a great theory
The divine throne for Hydro was destroyed, so Neuvi is no longer bound to the restrictions of Celestia. Plus Furina's Vision has Dragon teeth/claws on it so your theory does hold some weight.
Ei said the Archons don't CHOOSE WHO GETS A VISION, and neither does Neuvillette. They just give a fraction of their power in the form of a vision to people who, somehow, "deserve" it
unless, yk, you're Lisa, then you just ask for it
@@koul_is_eternal It isn't stated anywhere that Neuvillette has the same restrictions as the Archons at present, I believe. To quote it directly from Neuvillette's Vision Story;
"From that day on, whenever a person's wishes reached the heavens, the seven overseers of the material realm were duty-bound to grant them a gift.
So he too set aside parts of himself, as like unto the dragon-treasure hoards of old, awaiting valiant humans to come and claim them."
That plus Furina's Vision Story;
"But during the actual performance, a real Vision appeared, and it belonged to Furina. Visions are usually objects that appear in response to humankind's most fervent wishes, but this one, in particular, seemed more like a reward for her past deeds."
If Neuvillette was playing by the same rules as the Archons, he would require Furina to have a wish, regardless of what it was.
Others: saved lives, defeated a legendary monster, DIED then got revived
Sumeru characters: "yeah i read a book and corrected my professor"
Something that i find weird is how some NPCs don't have a vision.
Jeht for example, she has a whole backstory and ambition. We've seen Rana get a vision for nothing so being an NPC is not a problem.
Other examples are many NPC's from other quests
I hope they didn’t give Jeht a vision so that they can give her in a story quest and make her playable 🥹
Why should she deserve one?
Not all ambitious people get vision. Pantalone was ambitious and desperate to have one, yet never have.
@@akarifuyuki9763 I know, that's what i'm complaining about. Other example: Ellin. She's literally just as determined to become a knight as Noelle yet remains an NPC....
@@KittyNatiquinha We still don't really know what requirement, what kind of ambition that deserves a vision

Wat story
So, in my own theory; a Vision appears at the start of growth. Not as a 'trophy', but as a way of telling someone "you're doing great, keep going! You're going on the right path now."
Why are the stories so different from each other? Bennett had to ALMOST DIE and so did Qiqi. Kaveh cooked a meal, Alhaitham read a book, Lisa thought about a vision, and Tighnari and Layla said “‘um, actually!! 🤓” and then they got a vision 😭
Qiqi DID die though 😢😢
And Itto just woke up with a vision between his ass cheeks 💀
Same w kaeya 😭
And then some of them just
“Dang a vision would be neat”
*gets one*
@@xx_layla23190_xx FRR 😭
Itto was just like: bro I'm tired
And got a vision
Commenting for algorithm because THIS is the content I enjoy in this game and look forward to. I appreciate how they care to put whole backstories you can dive deep into for each character
and you made a great video that's easy to consume for those that might not like reading long text, so I hope this reaches more people!
My favorite is probably furina's
My least favorite is ironically from my favorite character, kokomi
Like, its such a missed potential????
😭😭😭 Girl that's not how visions are supposed to work
Vision family tradition is WILD
Which is odd
But beidou was making people compete for a masterless vision so it might not be that weird?
Agreeddd Kokomi has so many weird little details and it’s all just glossed over. Inneed Neuv to be like
I can feel the dragon power in you, like a little droplet of my power went into your soul
Idkk
Anyways what I got from it is that Diluc, Kaeya, Lisa and Jean are in their late 20s, somewhere between 27-30
I thought he’s like 23. Where did you get 27? Also, 14 is way too young like wtf…. Also also they gave credit to dottore?? I never heard that part
Qiqis full lore is so fucking heartbreaking.
Def my favourite, Lyney and Lynette's is second.
I'd recommend checking out Neuvillette's vision story. It gives an insight on how and why visions are granted, and a hint of why Furina's vision in particular is unique
As for my favorite vision story, Keqing's and Gaming's come to mind. I like how they initially feared that the existence of their visions would invalidate their hardwork/passion. It's an interesting perspective
ARANARA QUEST SPOILERS ///
We can't forget about Rana who we actually SAW get a vision in game. She decided she wanted to keep exploring the forest with Arana and a glowing spot opened over her heart and she found herself a holder of a dendro vision. (I may be slightly misremembering but I do know her decision to go with Arana was the catalyst and it came out of her heart)
10:39
"Never give up on your dreams!"
"The infant tries in desperation to keep living, receives Vision to help but still dies."
*I smell an extremely underrated Genshin Impact UA-camr once again*
Bro yoimiya rlly went "huh. cool vision. Makes a great lighter. Thanks."
I feel like hydro visions have the most obvious through line in their vision stories; a majority of them involve protecting others.
Xingqiu: **actively revives an entire martial arts clan, becomes a internationally known author, does his older brothers job and practically runs a major piece of the Feiyun Commerce Guild and does all this while still making time for screwing around with his friends, all at the ripe old age of 16-18**
Celestia: “TAKE A VISION AND CALM TF DOWN GODDAMN.”
Jeht: slaughters her tribe for betraying her
The gods: sleep
Itto: takes a nice nap
The gods: REAL SHIT
A note on Diluc:
He earned his Vision after he gave up the Delusion he was using to hunt Fatui.
Kaeya's story makes me sad every damn time I hear it
FELLOW KAEYA LOVER
But same
IMO it’s still one of the best vision stories
But I might just be biased cuz it’s ragbros lore😭
@@xx_layla23190_xx SAME TBH
They are my sons
My *favourite* theory is that visions are given to characters with ambitions matching the archon's secondary titles (e.g. Tsarista god of love, Barbados god of freedom, Buer god of wisdom, etc.) but with the info we have so far, only about half seem to match the theme.
And my favourite conspiracy theory is that some characters like Lisa and Itto lie when they tell people their vision stories which is why they're so vague.
My favorite line shut it paimon. If I could tell her that every time she speaks I would be happy. Maybe I’ll get my vision.
Klee got her vision because the Archon said " ill give you one but please don't blow up my country"
What was your favorite and least favorite vision story? Out of all the current Vision stories, Itto's is the most disappointing.
The vision stories I recommend reading are:
-Baizhu
-Heizou
-Beidou
-Lyney
-Lynette
-Kaveh
-Navia
-Yelan
Xianyan
Neuvillette doesn't have a vision, but his vision story explains a lot about what visions are and it's great to understand the lore .
I agree, Lyney and Lynette's almost made me tear up, especially Lyney's with his desperation to keep up with his sister, both were so impactful and even better together.
-Dori
Keqing's vision actually is literally:
I hate the amount of power the gods have over the humans!
Morax: I also hate it, so i'm going to give the power over Liyue for it's people.
Keqing: Yes liyue is for the peop- WHAT!?
*Meanwhile*
Celestia: Bros, she hate the gods and the concept of their gifts. Wouldn't it be funny if we gave it to her?
itto didn't just wake up and got it, the point of it is that he received it after finally being independent and making a living by himself. it represents his stability and start into cohabitating properly with humans while being true to who he is and not outshinning others. geo visions are all about well. being a rock. stability and stubborness and determination in face of a goal. thats why itto got it when he got it. his vision story revolves around him learning the true value of it and having a lesson about each person's worth despite their background and abilities which is the whole point of his entire backstory
i can see why it can be dissapointing if you just read it straight up, but there's a lot of nuance that i feel just got left out or ignored
Old school characters : Strife, suffering, crystallization of "will", rebirth, self discovery.
New characters : Oh I just woke up and got my Vision. Finished a book and got another one. Decided to do chores and there was yet another one in the sink.
I mean
Lisa?
Lyney:can I have delusion?
Arleccino: FUCK NO
Lyney: damn, hey look! A vision
Knowing that archon directly giving Visions to people I said Venti just throwing vision to anyone he think he's funny
Mavuika definitely the queen of that thing since she saw Xiangling scream "I WANT TO COOK"' and Xingqiu playing funny music and decided "this girl is something I shall bestow them the power to change the world"
getting a vision in a nutshell.
Archons: Ayo Celestia see that dude overthere?
Celestia: "Looks"
Archons: he be really sussy...
Celestia: >:(
If reading a book/sleeping is enough to give you a vison am Suprised that not all npcs got a vison lazzy ahh mfs
Rana from aranara's world quest got her vision basically for a month-long sleeping while we were solving all issues with forest.
Everyone: sad, good, interesting stories.
Itto: took a nap (stonk)
Navia: roll a dice (ultra deserved)
Nikou: just dance
Yoimiya: "Klee, you need a lighter?"
Kleepenheimer: EXPLOSION
I love vision stories and some of them are are like: “lol I just wanted one to I literally almost died to get a vision”
Win a game to get a vision
Finish a book to get a vision
To
I don’t want to die please freeze time 😭
I’m bl3eding out and literally am dying I neer some divine power
I was sacrificed to a monster and I defeated that monester
Like hello girl 😭
Don’t forget literally just sleeping and getting a vision, itto is amazing
@@mmelo7832 The one and ONI!😊
poor yelan looses friends and colleagues all the time damn... no wonder she can't stop talking about ningguang cause she probably is yelan's friend or someone bigger who has been around for the longest
Ningguang, Beidou, Yelan are holy trinity of Liyue. Closest friends and most powerful women in politics/business, military fleet and intelligence service of said region.
beidou: i had to fight a beast for several days with basically nothing and lost an eye in the process for a vision
lisa: i asked for it because research
'Ningguang was pissed because she couldnt sell it anymore' love her for that
Chongyuns vusion story is adorable, xingqius is wise, brilliant
I have been waiting for some one to upload this!! Thanks!!
think it should be mentioned that Chongyun’s vision story mentions “He received one of cryo, instead of pyro” or something similar along those lines. Not sure what it implies but it its interesting it was mentioned at all
I have a feeling it refers to his sensitivity to heat/spice or something. Just imagining a Chongyun with a pyro vision is making me laugh 😭
i love how furina got vision and immediately challenge a local legend
they gave some of the most tragic and heart breaking vision stories to some of the most disliked characters (qiqi and dori)
i love half of these vro they r so funny 😭🙏 but still these r amazing
Some of them had pretty previlage
*cough cough* Lisa *cough cough*
@@Luxndrlisa was the smartest person to graduate from the academy in like a century or so....
Beidou has to have one of the most underrated backstories. She should've gotten more credit fr
Xinyan: Rock n Roll probably doesn’t fit in Liyue
Celestia: It fits here
12:05 Childe does in fact have a vision story! When he was younger he fell into the abyss and had to fight to survive for 3 months (it was only 3 days for the rest of Teyvat) with the help of Skirk
Real reason is he wanted to save his family, that's why he get a hydro vision. He join Futui because they pay well so he can take care of the family.

How to get an Anemo vision : lose a loved one, become depressed, done.
only works for the short kings though lol. The girlies get a pass
1:41 beidou is my favourite because of the parallel between her killing the sea monster in one strike and Ei killing orobaxi (also a kind of sea monster) in one strike
Jeez i had no idea Dori's story was so sad it explains why she so mora hungry and is willing to sell anything and everything while squeezing every last mora she can out of every transaction
and also a shorty despite being an adult. Malnutrition in childhood can permanently stunt your growth, even if you manage to turn things around later.
I really loved reading characters' vision story. I loved Hu tao's especially. However, sometimes it is too long so videos like this is really a great help.
what I got until now:
Dendro: Dreams
Pyro: Passion
Geo: Duty
Anemo: Past
Electro: Belief
Hydro: Dedication
Cryo: Determination
They all share ambitions but the reasons of each element comes to how the ambitions of each character works for them
Oh right, I acutally forgot about that bit after Furina got her vision, that was mentioned in her character stories HAHAHAAH that Local Legend was supposedly something that Furina messed with only for it to get angry at her. So when she got her vision, she tried to get revenge but ends up losing anyways HAHAHAHA
I feel like a lot of important nuance is lost here so I wanna add some details in general:
Geo characters: their vision is granted when they have a deeper understanding of their role.
Hmm. Is Xiangling’s dad dead? Xinyan? Idk. Also Diluc got his before his dad died.
"How did Alhaitham get his vision?"
"HE WAS READING A BOOK!"
1:57 Bouken spirit never dies 👍
Lyney and Lynette's vision stories are so epic!! In lyney's vision its mentioned that they got out of that situation using their combined powers!!!!
Lyney and Lynette's are my favorite ones
