Hearing a CEO explain normal life and not talk down like I'm a lower form of life makes me want a Tesla more than I already did. Nobody is perfect but this guy gets it and when I listen to the way he is it really sounds like he wants a good life for people.

Since the cars last longer is it possible to extend the loan term in a commensurate time frame. Example gas car = 175000 on average and has a average 500 payment for 6 yrs then tesla has average 350-500000 it could have loan term of 12 years and still hold similar trade in value.

Full Self Driving is a FANTASY. It can NEVER happen. If FSD does KILL someone, do we just say well it is no big deal since it is nearly 99 percent safe if it gets to that point. FSD will KILL and even if, statistically it is safer overall, I don't think anyone would think it is OK if FSD kills anyone. Based on this FSD will NEVER happen. A driver will always have to be vigilant. Based on videos I have SEEN, FSD makes mistakes including driving at people in the bike lane and the driver will intervene and MUSK will NOT take that into account. Driver intervention when it happens is happening to SAFE LIVES, Driver intervention is making FSD safer then it really is. Musk does NOT report or keep statistics on how many times FSD would have been DEADLY if it were NOT for the DRIVER intervening at the LAST SECOND. And this is something that should be MANDATORY to RELEASE.
You cannot have safe and fully functional FSD using only cameras. Every year Musk says that their are gonna be fully autonomous, even old models, and every year we get only small improvements in best case scenario. Musk says his cars gonna be fully autonomous just to make you by those cars. That's it.
I definitely agree a big problem exists when a well-placed bird dropping, snow, or even bright sunshine can disable a camera(s). And, it appears that FSD is definitely not safer in many circumstances than an experienced (or even an inexperienced) driver. The car itself is a pleasure to use, but when rarely engaging the included basic autopilot, I personally would not consider upgrading until at least the phantom braking on a basic 4-lane highway on a clear day with no traffic is solved etc. But, if they end up truly solving the issues and FSD becomes a real product, then I think their cars would sell out. @@ReasonX3

Haha credit cards are even worse than that. Mine is 29%, I don't use it anymore since the 2 year No APR thing ran out. Oh and that is average. I've checked every credit card offered to me with my 785 credit score (100% payments made, but I'm only 24 so not big history yet) and all of them are 24%-29% APR mainly 29%
Interest rates are a real issue for now. I wonder if they can do inhouse finance . Let's say only people with a certain creditscore and limiting it to 3 years instead 5. But with zero interests. It's also about keeping the factories running because you can't just park people out of a job when you actually want to grow.
Apparently the number of people financing Tesla's is over 30% X 1.8mil vehicles at an average cost of 55k is $33billion. That would be a massive anchor around being cash flow positive even if Tesla owned 10% of that debt ... Especially with ridiculous interest rates at the moment the interest payments alone would hinder the growth. If $399 a month is a big ask imagine $599 ??

Since the cars last longer is it possible to extend the loan term in a commensurate time frame.
Example gas car = 175000 on average and has a average 500 payment for 6 yrs then tesla has average 350-500000 it could have loan term of 12 years and still hold similar trade in value.

Full Self Driving is a FANTASY. It can NEVER happen. If FSD does KILL someone, do we just say well it is no big deal since it is nearly 99 percent safe if it gets to that point. FSD will KILL and even if, statistically it is safer overall, I don't think anyone would think it is OK if FSD kills anyone. Based on this FSD will NEVER happen. A driver will always have to be vigilant. Based on videos I have SEEN, FSD makes mistakes including driving at people in the bike lane and the driver will intervene and MUSK will NOT take that into account. Driver intervention when it happens is happening to SAFE LIVES, Driver intervention is making FSD safer then it really is. Musk does NOT report or keep statistics on how many times FSD would have been DEADLY if it were NOT for the DRIVER intervening at the LAST SECOND. And this is something that should be MANDATORY to RELEASE.
You cannot have safe and fully functional FSD using only cameras. Every year Musk says that their are gonna be fully autonomous, even old models, and every year we get only small improvements in best case scenario. Musk says his cars gonna be fully autonomous just to make you by those cars. That's it.
I definitely agree a big problem exists when a well-placed bird dropping, snow, or even bright sunshine can disable a camera(s). And, it appears that FSD is definitely not safer in many circumstances than an experienced (or even an inexperienced) driver. The car itself is a pleasure to use, but when rarely engaging the included basic autopilot, I personally would not consider upgrading until at least the phantom braking on a basic 4-lane highway on a clear day with no traffic is solved etc. But, if they end up truly solving the issues and FSD becomes a real product, then I think their cars would sell out. @@ReasonX3

Yep, and it's going to be a global recession. Unfortunately. It's time to batten down the hatches, drop the ship lower in the water by filling the ballast tanks, put the stabiliser fins out and prepare for a stormy passage. We couldn't have a better, more grounded, sensibly cautious 'captain' than Elon. He speaks the truth, is honest about his concerns and understands that people around the world are proceeding with caution. Let's hope our concerns are misplaced and the gathering storm dissipates.

Nonsense. While Tesla is sick, the rest of the economy, which is a lot, is in reasonable shape. They are looking for excuses for their failures. Never heard them saying the company was doing well thanks to how well the economy is performing. When things are going well, it’s the genius of Elon. When Tesla performance is crap, it’s all the macro environment all of a sudden. Get real, face the failure. Admit to your situation. It’s more dignified that way.
Why can’t the fed just lower rates again and save us
Hey Tesla! I don’t care about these quarterly earnings as a long term investor, this means nothing! There is no other company on the planet that has the products you are offering with the seem-less ecosystem. Plus we haven’t even tapped into the full transition to EV and battery storage, which is where I’m more excited about! Keep doing what your doing, those who knows, knows! And for those who don’t are going to miss out on hefty payday! Keep on focusing on the master plan, while the rest of the world keeps dragging their feet trying to understand what Tesla truly is!
