Honestly, this First Person Perspective makes Simon look like an absolute psychopath
He is! And the entire Belmont clan to boot. They run around with leather and chain whips and hit candles in old abandoned ruins, dungeons and castles alike.
Do you have any idea how exhausting it is, to lit all these candles? The Belmonts are insane!

I like how the candles and torches are actual light sources, so it's a minor trade of visibility vs power-up.
Was just thinking that. Nice touch.
I don’t think the creator intended that because in the actual Doom games, torches always emit light and removing them would obviously remove the light.

@@Mr.Honest247 In the actual Doom games, torches/lamps are a decoration and the light level is a property of a map sector. Removing them through usual means was not possible and light level was changed through specific triggers.

the platforming in this TCM is actually really awful I gave up after 3 rooms in.
Probably because Heretic used Doom's engine and is even compatible in GZDoom

The knife throws look more satisfying than in most other games.
Even though it’s rarely used, I always did love how the Dagger/Knife looked in Castlevania.
This looks like something Konami could make in the 90's if they would make a Castlevania FPS doom game

Castlevania is unfortunately a thing of the past. However koji igarashi quit his job at konami and went to create "bloodstained" which is like a spiritual successor to castlevania. Have a look at it if you haven't already.

This is so good. So many props to the creator. I’m amazed at how recognizable the levels still are. Everything seems to translate, at least on some level, really well. Soundtrack and sound effects fit perfectly. This looks more fun than several of the. 3D attempts that actually got out.
If this had been released by Konami themselves for the PS1, it would have been on the cover of everything from EGM to Gamepro to Next Generation, and in the collection of every gamer that could get a copy. We truly live in the best time to be gamers.

Ton of secret in the original doom needed platforming doomguy can't jump but it can clear gap if you use the momentum and it's needed to go to the secret level

I love how it uses the Dracula Battle Selection music. Also, the nostalgia of the original Dracula battle with the gameplay style of Castlevania 64. I love how it plays Theme of Simon for the final battle.
I love how most of the sound effects are from symphony of the night.

Assuming the Architect ever gets paid, HA HA HA!! Ya, know his workers tend to do bad work, IMHO cause some castlevania games have bridges and platforms that fall at will, i.e. step on them to fall bigtime.... Scary, to have such things, in a castle that is supposed to last forever.
This actually would have been a better N64 version of Castlevania than what we got...

When I was a kid, I played too much Castlevania on the NES one day and ended up dreaming about it from a 3D perspective. This mod is the closest representation of that dream more than anything I've seen to date. Awesome job!
The custom sprites, items, weapons and sound files were most impressive. This is a borderline-professional indy game!

this was a trip from beginning to end. the sheer creativity and design planning that went into this is amazing. kudos to the creator for an amazing production! i especially enjoy the use of wolfenstein, doom, hexen, and many many other genre assets that were used in this. absolutely astounding :D
If Castlevania were still an active series today, I would want to see a survival horror take on it where you play as an ordinary person as opposed to a Belmont or Alucard or whatever.
So just Silent Hill is what you're thinking.
Because Castlevania feels a bit too action fantasy to be turned into this down to earth realistic survival horror.
@@factualopinion8849 nah, CV64 had more of a horror atmosphere to it, especially in the forest and villa stages, so I think it could work. Maybe something like the original Onimusha with less emphasis on combat

Damn, even the levels were recreated in a very similar manner rather than just randomly putting rooms. That hallway before Death though, still the biggest dick in the game.
I came from Matt McMuscles (Channel who does the Wha Happun show) and this is absolutely fantastic. This is on perfect balance of gameplay, atmosphere, design, creativity, nostalgia and challenge.
It's a fantastic design if anyone video game and as a Castlevania fan myself, I loved every second of it.
Massive kudos to Andrea Gori, she did a great job creating this atmospheric wonder of a video game. Well done.

Castlevania: Dwarf Edition. When the character opens a door his eyes are lower than the door knob so this must a hell of a short Belmont

I tried making a Castlevania themed dwarf Fortress, but beyond the Turkey roasts hidden in the walls and some vampire nobles, I got out of ideias.

Play Metroid Dreadnaught. It’s an amazing Metroid mod for Doom 2. It allows you to find hidden rooms and get all of Samus’ Super Metroid upgrades. It doesn’t beat Simon’s Destiny, but it’s up there for me
