Something that really helped me when I was a new poe player years ago was a friend of mine who asked me if I knew why certain support gems or passive skill tree points I was taking were being taken and how they helped me and I couldn't answer. I was just following a cookie cutter and not understanding how the build went together. So if you're new it's a good thing to follow a build guide absolutely. But if you're doing that, try to ask yourself why you're taking certain points in your passive tree or how a support gem you add helps you etc. It will help you learn how things scale in this game and a lot about how the game works overall.
Tip: do not sleep on the town building mechanic! Go to boats as soon as possible because you get rares from early shipments. Almost all my gear rn is from there.
Yeah, my leveling gear right now is better than I've ever had at act 7, I'm nearly res-capped just from shipping drops, and I'm just handing stuff out to my buddies that are just starting the league
Don’t forget you can also get randomized gear from the guy in town. And gamble certain item types. If you give crops to the place you send your ship you can get lots of currency!
I just fired up POE for the first time in a couple years. I think Ive only ever completed all the acts at any time. Im going to try and play this one fully. Wish me luck
There is also a browser plug in that sends you to the right wiki if you click the wrong one. There ALSO is a browser plugin that automatically adds the tilde on the trade website

playing for almost 10 years now, 95% witch or templar builds and i pretty much always start with a summoner/zoo build. aka passive zombies, spectres and a golem, with skeletons as an active spell. you can make use of almost every support gem you find on your league start. doesnt matter if its melee or spell support, it fits in somewhere. as soon as you hit level 14, you can have the 2 minion life reg perks + the major perk "sacrifice", combine this with a vitality aura, and NON of your minions will ever die throughout the campaign. you damage is WAY enough for a league starter without gear, you can play through the campaign without ever stopping. and even after the campaign, you can easily farm t1-t5 without any problems, which is good enough to farm some base currency to get whatever witch or templar build you wanna play.
When you were talking about spam running what we enjoy to make money, I instantly thought about all the people that have the Stockholm syndrome with Ritual. They run it, run it, then they keep running it until they decide to respec cuz they are fed up with it but have no money to do so, so they keep running ritual. rip
thanks for video, i haven't played in a few years and holy is campaign grind slower then i ever remembered, it took me 2 hours to get through act one, it's insanely slow now and one of big reasons i stopped playing POE and waiting for POE2 is I am so sick and tired of playing campaign over and over just to get to the fun part of the game, for us casuals i won't be at end game for like a couple weeks!!
If you just run past white mobs, kill blue mobs for XP, skip tanky rares, don't do side quests, and don't hang out in town messing with your gear, you can easily get through one act per hour. Get a good movement skill as soon as you can (or two or three), use frostblink or flame dash for skipping over gaps and ledges. Upgrade your gear no more than once per act. This is only my third league and I can get through the campaign in under 8 hours without trying too hard. The pros can do it in a couple of hours, speedrunners can do it in an hour with a lot of planning.

I have 2 quick silver, a movement skill, and 25% movement boots now and hoping last 5 acts are much quicker. it's so annoying though spending a whole weekend just getting campaign down. I hate campaign with a passion and only enjoy game once i hit maps but it's like 2nd weekend when i can play maps
This video was amazing, I wanted to ask if you use any price checking addons, things like Awakened Poe or Poe overlay? something i've never been good with is the value of an item, or even where to search for "meta / useable"items, so i've relied on things like Awakened Poe, I was wondering if you had any other tool / advice.
Could you make a guide for adventurous people about choosing passives and making their own builds that can finish the campaign and some mappings? Maybe include target def / dodge / block / damage (?) / survival stuff / and maybe how auras mesh together? Ok maybe this'll turn to a 5 hour long video.... 😂
I am pretty sure there are older guides about how scaling damage and defense works. So this could be a way to understand building, even though things change quite often but it is still the same logic. Then it is just understanding how a skill gains damage and how to get tanky.
its always the resistances that get me as i head to act 8 or 9, thats when i spend much more time looking for useful gear i can use for a few lvls until i get better.

I had made my first few early divines by running lab for popular gems, especially the corrupted variants for whatever was popular. Vaal LS is popular, and quality version can add a lot value, especially after the recipe change for skill variants being removed. I sold 3 or 4, tried to get them to at least level 18, and each sold for 1.5 div. definitely rng based, but still an option

Flash back to 3.23 doing League challenges with double possessed, double wildwood, 5 essence monster that took all my map portals and still didn't kill.
Could you point me to a video that maybe explains what to focus on or get good at if you do bow builds? I've been playing this game for over a year now and no matter how much I learn I'm lost. Every bow build I look for is like people using a ranger and doing melee or tinctures or some other bs that's a whole other thing. It's just frustrating.

POE has far too many recipes for the casual player, I love playing but i simply cannot keep up with what does what and what combinations to build/vendor etc... I wish there was a simple game mode to help with crafting/vendoring/selling
You don' really need any. Elemental resistance rings for easier campaign (but most of the time you can also buy them from vendors), chromatic orb recipe for a lil bit of currency early and thats all you need for campaign. After campaign there is jewellers orb recipe, eveyrthing else is irrelevant or drops too little so dont bother. If the game is too complicated you need to make it simpler by focusing only on whats most relevant/important and ignoring the rest
POE 2 can't come soon enough. this shit is just way too complicated, complex and almost unplayable without running a third party app and have 2 chrome tabs opened.

12+ years of patches and they still force you through that horrible campaign with 50% of the maps there that qualify for "worst random maps generated in the history of ARPGs". Good lord. GGG clearly loves their players.

What's a good trick to get all of the unique maps? I usually struggle getting them all

you can do the 15% elemental resistance from the bandits in act2, also crafting bench helps a lot

I think I had around 5 or 6 corrupt failures, but my very first one was a good corrupt so I was lucky
