Went to see them a few weeks ago as they are currently on a world tour, all in their sixties now and the drummers 70. Still absolutely awesome with plenty of energy. Put younger bands to shame. Plenty of songs to react to from their 17 albums. Have fun.
And the band has been active since late 70s. Still putting out new albums.. still touring....and still filling stadiums. FUCKING LOVE IT. UP THE IRONS 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾 Stay metal!!!
When bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica (to name just 2) were first getting out there in the early 80s there was no MTV yet and radio refused to give them airtime. They grew thru live performances in small venues, with fans swapping cassette tapes in the playground at recess. As a result, though the studio albums are great, it is the live performances where they truly shine
All live versions of this song are great. The official version of this was recorded like 35 years b4 this and 2 months b4 the album was released . That's my favorite version of this. This is my 2nd favorite version of this.
You're so right, playing heavy metal DOES keep you young, Iron Maiden being the prime example. Two months ago, as in early June 2023, bassist and band leader Steve Harris played the Sweden Rock Festival both with Iron Maiden and, the day prior, his side project British Lion. At the age of 67, not only did he bring his most energetic A-game as always, guess what he did inbetween those concerts? He played soccer. With some some of my colleagues at the Sweden Rock Magazine and some players from Mjällby, a local soccer team. And when the game was finished, he didn't go to any hotel to get his beauty sleep before next day's Iron Maiden concert. No, he stayed at the festival all day and spent the night on British Lion's roadcrew's tour bus. Steve Harris is nothing short of a living legend.
So they just released information that Nicko McBrain, the drummer suffered a stroke.....BACK IN JANUARY.... an absolute trooper to continue touring while being treated for that.
I would encourage you to watch the 1982 Hammersmith live show version of this. Maybe do a comparison video, whilst great this was far from their best performance of this amazing song. Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner is an absolute must. If you listen, I will watch. More Black Sabbath, obviously (War Pigs).
If you haven't seen them recently, make it a point. Yes, they still kill it live, and Bruce still has it. Try reacting to one of their songs like "Stratego" off their new release.
Also keep in mind Bruce was diagnosed and treated for throat cancer. And to still be able to sing like that....absolute beast of a legend. I used to cry about why they're not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame but looking at past acts, they.....the R&R HoF....is a fucking joke. The fact they're still making new albums, touring and filling stadiums is enough for me.
Man, don't even get me started on the R&R H&F! Just consider how long they resisted public demand to induct Kiss - Kiss, for God's sake! And their initial surprise when first asked why Deep Purple hadn't been inducted - their answer was that Deep Purple was a "one-hit wonder". They finally had to relent on that one too, but still. They either don't have a clue, or try to impose their personal biases and preferences on rock history.

Even though this is a fantastic version. This looks to be after Bruce kicked cancers ass. Check out their songs from an 80's version. You'll understand why Bruce was called the human air raid siren. Listen to the words of their songs, you'll get a history lesson.
Ugh. I know I’m a buzz kill but this live version isn’t great. Too fast, Bruce struggles, Janick ruined the solo, the mix is off. I love 1982s version or even Long Beach Arena or Brave New World. Thanks for the reaction. Maiden is a great band. They have so many excellent tracks. I do suggest studio first then live.
A way past their prime version of the song. Probably should have just don't the studio recording version. Unlike all the other die hards,,, that's not what this song sounded like. This sounds horrendous.
Give this vid a like if you want more Iron Maiden reactions!

Same here! I saw them two weeks ago in Murcia, Spain...... Best show ever... But, Nicko is actually 71, since the 5th of June.

Nicko had a stroke at beginning of the year and still - they were amazing live.
I "discovered" them in 1982, saw them 17 times in concerts, been a fan since and still listen to them all the time.
yeah, i was about 4 years old when my brother brought some c-cassette home that had Iron Maiden.
Chile, the best audience in the world for Iron Maiden!!!!!!!
Very rarely watch this live version, and I forgot how good it actually is.
So much energy, everyone firing on all cylinders! Up The Irons!! 🤟🤟🤟
And with their age, they still didn't lose any of that energy.
we love iron maiden in chile, hell yeagg 🙂
Iron Maiden is the best live band ever allways put on a good show! ❤🤘 I seen them live 8 times from 1988 to 2023
That was the finale after over 2 hours of high energy rocking!

Took my daughter to see this tour in Tampa a few days after this was shot. Good times.
So they just released information that Nicko McBrain, the drummer suffered a stroke.....BACK IN JANUARY.... an absolute trooper to continue touring while being treated for that.
There's alot better version of this. But it's Iron Maiden, so of course its going to still be amazing!!Lulu I love you too❤

The Clansman from Rock in Rio
The legend heavy metal 🤘
I am accustomed to the live featured on the Flight 666 documentary DVD, just Epic.
Go see Maiden and you see all ages, they are timeless and loved by younger fans as well as us old timers.
You should react to the 1982 Live version. That's the best one and the banger version.
The live version from 1982 is older and so much better.
If you haven't seen them recently, make it a point. Yes, they still kill it live, and Bruce still has it.

Not their best live performance of this song. However even on an average night they still blow most other bands out of the water. 🤘
