- The F-80A-5 was the first jet I ever unlocked in this game, and it surprised me with how much I enjoyed using it again.

I've never had as much fun in Warthunder then when I was flying either P-80s. They've always been surprisingly good in different ways, and were definitely what kept me playing Warthunder for the longest time.
I'd fly them more if they didn't have such high repair costs, they are much fun to play

The F86 when you have a good lobby and can have actual dogfights it’s spicy spicy! 80’s are awesome too I’m still trying to work through the tree more

My first jet was the B-57A because I was a bomber main at the time (Still would be a bomber main if it was profitable). B-57s were super fun to play when not worrying about absurd repair costs, boom in then vanish like a fart in the wind
Lol just get an il28 and enjoy being constantly downtiered to 7.0 where even the fastest jets can't catch you and if they dive your gunner will just fuck them from 1km
I came back to warthunder recently and you’re like an echo except I never continued to the high tier jets, I just have an affinity for the prop dogfights and nuisances that I just never found in the instant jet matches :P anyhow keep it up I’m so happy to see people actually making stuff for this game even in its seemingly pay to win stale state in my opinion, keep it up dude :D
This was the first jet I researched, but because I was grinding the 'Space Race' event I didn't realise I was researching it and just autopiloted from one plane to the next and then realised when the event ended I was researching the F-84B now (back when the US tree only had 4 lines), and just for the memes I have never and will never test fly the F--80's either of them. God I am an idiot.
in my eyes the best starter jet is the F3D. It's (relatively) fast, it'll turn better than the stat card suggests, 4 M3 20mms... two radars, two "pilots", two engines and two dinner plates for a windshield. It's a great way to learn energy, plus airspawn.

My first jetfighter was the Ouragan, I used to hate it a lot and got told that it sucks but I came back to WT and it feels very nice to fly. Even won an engagement against a migh 15 bis in it lol, sadly didnt get to kill it cause I got third partied, but still made me feel good about my maneuvering skill.
Its a pretty solid starter jet! Good BR and stable platform - has good utility in ground RB.
Enjoying your content. Been watching your stuff for a few weeks. I like your style of reviews and then actual gameplay. It's a good mix. I'm just getting back into WT from a 4+ year hiatus. Really rusty, trying to play on a laptop with touchpad; not the best. Haven't even attempted to fly my jets (lvl 100), just reacquainting myself with props. I may try to snag an external keyboard and mouse - have only had six matches since returning.

I remember when I first got this plane. Took me forever to adjust my playstyle for jets. I was so used to turn fighting, I rarely boom and zoomed. Now, years later, jets are still my favorite.

Of all the starter jets the Shooting Star and the MiG-9 have gotta be my favorites, shooting star has excellent preformance and the MiG-9 has great armament while teaching you to manage energy
Love the F-80, hated it on release.
Also loved using the Mig-9 late at this tier. Was great about 1 year ago, haven’t played in a year , so I don’t know how the BR has changed. At some point as well the first gen Mig-15 was amazing to fly, no missile lobbies.
I had this jet back in 2014, it felt invincible if you just kept your speed up
I never thought I'd get into jets as they move too fast for me. I barely keep up with props and most of my level 100 is from doing CAS in Air RB. Then the snail gave me the A10 and I will spade this beautiful tank killing ugly big bird until I get the four AAs. I do try once in a while to do jet combat but only to remind me how much I suck at it.

My first jet was the Arado B2 lmao. I was a bomber guy back then and became an Arado C3 enjoyer flying it as a heavy fighter

You played well with the F-80, I'm also thinking of taking it, I used the Kikka, but I didn't like it very much, it's hard to hit and it doesn't curve much, the last match you played a lot, too bad the battle wasn't won because of the plow, but it was good
A few days ago I caught 2 matches where B-29s did the same thing, I made a point of flying to them with my Kikka and shooting them down :D
Its defenetly the best jet to transition from props, you get 50cals that you should be used to by now and you can turn pretty well
My first jet is the F89b because reasons. And 30 games in I'm at a solid 1 kill to 3 deaths. And I'd say over half of those deaths were me ripping the wings off at high speed. But so far I'm loving jets!
This little monster outperformed me in a su-11
Because I'm Aussie I went the British tech tree first, and have flown both the meteor and the p80, the p80 can almost put turn the meteor, but has a much better energy retention and top speed.
But I'm a sucker for a turn fight and I love the meteor
I should try it again too, both of those.. Spaded them years ago, never touched them again..

Ah yes. Looking back at the K/D ratios of your first jet in War Thunder. I'm not sure if mine is positive, but the K/battle ratio is certainly worse than what I was able to achieve in props.
This was my first jet too, but within my first 3 matches I managed to get an ace. Maybe it's because I flew the mustang a lot. It just felt natural to do the same thing in this as a mustang.
As someone who got the german jets first (jabo me 262 and horten for now) this is the least of my concerns with f 84 (just unlocked it) being an absolute menace
My first premium and 2nd to last was the Su-11. It's so broken. Brakes suck though so belly landings are a must.

Grind the F-80C-10, it's even better! Insane turnrate (not THE best turning jet, but definately one of them!), great roll, great energy retention, great handling even at lower speeds and of course it's still the fastest jet out there. If you play your cards right this thing is an absolute beast and is capable of whacking almost everything it faces!
Fastest jet out there? What the heck are you even talking about? At 7.7BR your performance is kinda shit compared to other jets of the same BR, not to mention if you get uptiered which happens a lot. You can only pray for low level out of energy players. If you want a 7.7 jet the F-84RE is much better

I'm still not on jets cause 6.0 i play the last corsair variant in the line of naval but the JU-288x thing exist so i hate 6.0 plus the up tier but i watch you're video on that corsair and it helped so if u got anymore hints n tips ill like to know.

One wonders how and why the JU-288 hasn't been bumped up a BR given Gaijin supposedly balances on "stuhtistics".
god if i was a few weeks earlier this plane would still be good, now its a peashooter compared to every enemy, you can outplay them over and over but your guns wont kill them and all it takes is one 30mm to end your game.
hey, since you're on the topic of first jets, I just unlocked my first jet in the matter of the MD 450B Ouragan.
Have been doing pretty well with this thing, but everybody I play with keeps telling me this jet is trash tier and I should not have grinded it. Only issue I see with it is that the acceleration is pretty low, but again I odn't have much experience with jets so maybe I completely miss the point.
Have you ever tested it ?
I don't really get the hate that the Ouragan gets online. It's.. fine. Just about average at everything.
It's not like you have many choices anyway. The Vatours are horrible, and why bother with France if you only play the copy pastes.

Can you do a vid on the Mig 21 PFM? I have it but I pretty much get 0 points every match. I am pretty decent with props, usually getting a kill or two per match sometimes 3 and I am ok with my ouragan but this thing just has no ammo and the missiles might aswell not be there they dont seem to hit anything.
How i started off with jets was the Me 262 A-2a, I was trying to get the Rare tiger H1 skin, Got the skin, but ended up getting the jet on the 4th case, And you know what happens when someone gets at jet when their only at Rank 3 planes.
I just unlocked my first jet (the same), I struggle a little cause all of the Su-11 and I feel people go for the F-80A-5 more than other planes.

Oh boy so glad I went for the banshee first so that it can immediately get fucked over by migs, sabres, and AA missles. Time to spend another 8 months grinding out another path now.
F80a5 is the first jet ive gotten at sucks not because it poorly performs but because the fact its repair cost so fucking high an the su 11 stomps an gets in matchs with its constantly

To be fair to your comment at the end, the .50 cal’s DID suck horribly at multiple points, so you might not have been completely wrong to dislike them; there was a period early on where they’d go from flamethrowers to peashooters and back every other patch
Remember the flaps can go to 530kph without overloading

Day 10 of asking to play the yak4 at 2.0
Start by a dive directly at q base that has another base clise to it ( 2 bases beside each other) 4 bombs for each
Go straight to your base killing some ai on the way with your 7.62
Some planes will come on your back going in a straigh line with minimal evading is recommended and try to hit their engines with ur turret since they have weak engines a damaged one will lead them to crash i return to the airfield with 2 bases with 4 to 5 ai kills and 1 or 2 planes after taking off i go for bases if left but if not i will focus on ground targets cuz aa is the bain of this plane so bombing airfields is not recommended
Bonus:do not forget to have smoke always on to piss the enemies 🤣

You need to climb at around 500-600 for max climbrate in jets, thank me later. Jets generate wayyy more power at higher speed

the P-51D-30 and F4U-4B are p solid

@@BeerSougion the super props just have terrible matchmaking but in terms of performance yeah
@@xavier4519 US supers are a bit overtired because of the Ju288 spam, for the rest they a among the nicest planes to fly.
@@BeerSougion oh yeah i remember a few years ago every one of these super props were down in BR from where they are now but i never really thought that's what's going on... makes sense unfortunately
