They'd have to come back when the house/project is finished and shoot more footage, then edit it into the current scene. It would a decent amount of work for each clip whereas here they can just edit the clip down for youtube. It'd be nice to see the finished product but that's not frequently what ToH does, not unless its a longer term house they work on
@@pirana6 OK, fair point, but at the same time some of the videos they've released lately have featured a kid who died what, 3? 4? years ago? It's not like they are putting out videos at some alarming rate, surely this house has been completed by now and this is old footage. They film in the northeast. They want us to believe that it's March of at least the next year and the siding isn't completed? If that was the case why would anyone watch this? This was just lazy video production.
We called that a bell edge (flair) and the curved wooden pieces sprockets. Used on roofs in Europe and colonial homes. An informative video; when do we see part 2. Finished with the moulding?
Tom Silva, how do I take a piece of lumber with a live edge on both sides and get a straight edge on one side? I'm at a loss and I know you are the master.
He, like everyone else, can look things up and prepare for a demonstration. You really have no idea what he knows by heart or what he just memorizes ahead of time for a particular episode.
Does no one here actually watch the show? This is in the middle of a season-long project. The finished product literally doesn't exist until weeks after this how to is filmed... that's the nature of construction.
Apparently TOH doesn’t respect it’s viewers because people have been saying they want to see final result pictures for ages and they have yet to ever produce one. PATHETIC PRODUCTION TEAM
Great, now my wife wants me to copy that curve and it will cost me a fortune to copy that silly curve. I guess "This Old House" has to be retitled to " How to spend your money on your house until you go bankrupt".
I would have liked to see the final product
Your user name sounds familiar...

Thanks for showing the finished product!
Would love to see how the corners come together!!!
Troy Carothers me too! Think it’ll look great, just don’t know how to do it.
Cahners
@@bpmunroe I should've used my Bahston accent. Cahners!!!
Why on earth would the viewers want to see what it looks like completed, guys? Duhhhh

“Pencil boy, mark that!”
...or as Tom says "Mock it."
Nice video. There very helpful.
Beautiful work again boys!!
Hi TOH , Happy St.Patricks Day !! 😊💚🍀
Does flared out plywood need to have felt paper (house wrap) on it too?

Either a track saw or a straight edge clamped and then run a circular saw against it
I wanna sleep on a bed of Tommy’s mustache shavings.
#thisoldhouse @thisoldhouse can you do this with fiber cement siding?
Do they just delete and repost these every few months or something? Swear I've seen this one before
These are old episodes. These original cast of guys are getting up in age. As to why You keep seeing episodes being recycled.
I have also on TV and UA-cam
No finished product? Jeez TOH!
Is there anything that Tommy does not know? Wow!

Well that's a new one for me, never heard of a flair when shingling a house before!
Check their Season 38 project of rebuilding the whole house, especially their front where they build huge flaring, as well all the other walls.
i dont understand why they didnt use a bandsaw on all those cuts...am i missing something???
They aren't in a shop, dude.
How many jobsites have you been on where people are working on a house and have a bandsaw set up?
No example photo at any point and no footage of the finished product?
Who even posted this crap?

Their are a rare few TOH UA-cam videos that show the end results
Why didn't they show the the rest. Wow
👍
WALIA
Wheres the finish
That second screw on that ledger board didn’t hit a stud.
U can be assured Tom Silva fixed that.

But why?
Why don’t they show the end result, they always forget to show the end result.
WTF!!! what does it look like completed?????
Final product? FFS!
Wtf? Finished result
Tom, grab your tools and figure out this coronavirus problem
I always wondered how they fixed it so fast. Now it makes sense.
Holy F sticks, why not show the finished presentation? Who is producing this channel? Seriously....
Does anyone producing this channel understand this concept?
Pointless video if you don’t show the results
No finished result?? You are getting lazy
First
Love the show! Very interesting design.
Keep the great videos coming
Thanks for sharing and God bless
