- A very special 'Tom Talks' episode.
The Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa #0704 is one of the worlds most important cars, many believe the ultimate survivor and today you're going to hear all about it.
This is the only unrestored 250 Testa Rossa in existence but also the second prototype of the model, an ex-works car that was driven by the greatest drivers of the period and won at least 19 races throughout its life.
It was donated to The Henry Ford Museum in 1967 where it would reside for over 30 years.
Remarkably, the car retains all of its original components including the chassis, body, engine and transmission and has never sustained any accidents of any real consequence.
Tom Hartley Jnr first sold this car back in 2014 and we are pleased to be able to announce that we have recently sold her once again.
We hope you enjoy the episode as much as we enjoyed filming it, this particular car is very important to us all at THJ. - Авто та транспорт
I’m older than this car. This is the best car presentation I’ve ever seen. Thank you.
I've only ever seen one 250TR...is was on a trailer being pulled by a Merc 500SEC at a constant 90mph. It was 1986 and within about 20 miles of Modena. Some things you never forget.
Your knowledge is outstanding Tom - you’re always such a pleasure to listen to.
oh my God, what a car, what a history, what an art!!!
We want to hear it fire up ! The sound is half the experience
Listening to Tom for free is far more important.
yep
Selling this car twice in 6 years shows just how important you as a person, are in this market. Your knowledge is absolutely unreal. Hats off to you Tom 👍
Stunning time capsule. Ultimate collectors car. Nothing better than those Ferrari V-12s
I feel most people does not understand passion about cars. They simple can believe things you will do to preserve them, even at the point of not using it. I find no words to explain it. What I am sure, is that if there is a a possibility to explain it, Tom has it for sure. Thanks Tom for sharing your feelings and passion, as well as this unique cars.
I received the Burago 1:18 57 TR model for christmas in 1985. aged 30 in 1994 I fulfilled my dream and bought a 550 Maranello. Love your appreciation for these older Ferraris. Magical cars and lovely to hear your enthusiasm. I'm in the motor trade but not quite at your level!
The 550 came out in 1996
@@ocoet3575 had a few beers when I typed that! Bought a 1997 car in 2003
I enjoyed your message very much! Excellent car with a legendary record.
Bloody hell Tom, what an incredible watch, thank you 👏👏👏
Brought a little tear to my eye.
Loves everything about these detailed videos with great stories.
Wonderful presentation! Thank you for taking the time to share this amazing Ferrari with us. I had the pleasure of seeing this car at The Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2017. Just stunning. Cheers from McCarthy Aerospace - Leeds, Alabama USA
I would pass out if i was near this beauty, ill never own a Ferrari cause I'm not loaded but I'm a fanatic of older models, something about them just gets me going, the stories these cars could tell, just fascinating stuff, thank you for the video.
I did "enjoy hearing about it",....very much,.... I couldn't stop listening to your presentation. I was an "army brat" American living in Germany in the late 50's and went to Nurburgring several times and Le Mans once and saw phenomenal cars and legendary drivers. Ferrari's, Maserati's, Mercedes, Jags and Aston's. Fangio, Moss, Peter Collins, the Marquis De Portago and others etc. I lucked out. I'll never forget those experiences.
I liked the way that you leaned on the car, put your hands on it and sat in it. Fitting behavior for the car itself. A well used and respected old friend of value and worth.
I could listen to you all day long Tom - such soothing tones underpinned by vast knowledge of these beautiful stories disguised as cars
Yes, we enjoyed hearing about it.
Thanks for posting, Tom.
If only artists could make incredible cars again...
I love this. Mr Hartley obviously loves cars and it really, really shows. A lovely genuine and humble presentation. I would love to see more of these.
Outstanding presentation. Wonderful car. Very special, Tom... Ferrari and Maserati of the 1950's - (the sports-racing cars) are my passion. My old chairman (Anthony Hartley), your namesake was renowned in Maserati circles.
Oh my goodness, what a simply fantastic video, I enjoyed every single moment, I was hanging on your every word THJ, wow, thank you so so much for this 👍🏁👏
Great video. A real blockbuster. Well narrated. Really enjoyed the story. Thank you.
That was fantastic Tom, thankyou, Matt.
Such an impressive video, more so because you are passionate about cars and that always comes across so strongly in these videos. Thank you for sharing your passion.
Passionate salesman
What a beautiful car and a piece of history . Thanks Tom 😊
The sound has improved MASSIVE! and cheesy music has been eliminated. Camera work is great, excellent entertainment for us trainspotters.
Speachless! 👋👋👋
Congraz for this very nice Report Mr. Hartley. Met O. Gendebien mid 90's ! Almost forgotten Gentleman driver!! Charisma & badass was the magic potion of those days...
Best regards

Superb content and quality AMAZING knowledge a pleasure to watch. Thanks Tom
Thanks so much for the history and detail on this magnificent automobile.
We all have our favorites. Mine is the pontoon fender TR. But any Testa Rossa is a beautiful thing. 👍
One of the best videos I’ve seen. At the risk of sounding weird it got my quite emotional. Thank you for sharing
Beautiful car beautifully presented Tom, 👍🏼
For me it’s the most important of all Ferrari race cars. Stunning
its amazing to hear the history of this special car, i was banned every second he talked with this passion. Amazing car, great history, well done Mr. Hartley !!
I love the passion with which you speak of this car. You describe it the way an artist would describe a masterpiece; which it is. Wonderful!
Thanks Tom for the history lesson....Testa Rossa in Italian...is RED-HEAD
Would have loved to hear it tick over at the end..
What an amazing story, what an amazing car, just fantastic to hear it told with such passion as well! So many great names attached to this car but I hope Arthur True somehow knows what a huge
favour he did us all!
Great content. I would want to return to the original body. The pontoon fenders are so gorgeous.
Thank you so much for sharing that fabulous piece of Ferrari art with us. You brought the car to life with your passion and knowledge. That's what makes your reviews unique, like the cars you present.
Thanks Tom for sharing...what a Ferrari history. Now I am imagining how much the new owner paid for it. I love the way you present these important facts; you should have kept it in your collection.
Thank you for sharing this, absolutely magnificent.
I love listening to your videos. I've learned so much. Thanks! THAT CAR! dreamy~~
Magic👑, thanks Tom🙏
Look forward to watching this right now. Cheers.
Really enjoyed watching this. Great historical detail, well worth preserving 👍
Great film, excellent photo research in particular, and the lapel mic is sounding good. Would've been nice to hear the engine singing at least a tiny aria.
Wow!! What a lovely explanation of a legendary beauty, if I was a millionaire I would buy this piece of art.
Just an amazing story and car, well presented
Fabulous video, and truly fascinating. The enthusiasm for the car makes it all the better.
Thank you for sharing such great car with us and informing us of it's amazing history. A car that stands alone.
thanks for sharing your knowledge
I learn so much from the Tom Talks videos! Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to see more.
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing. Fabulous research and history.
Today I am at the @CavallinoClassic at The Breakers in Palm Beach for the weekend. This car is prominently displayed on the main lawn. Thankfully it is near the public area so I could see it up close, as the event was done private this year due to covid. Thanks to this video Tom made, which I watched months ago, I was happy to answer people’s questions about the history and provenance of the car, as if I were the owner LOL. What is amazing and horrifying, is that some woman who was touching other cars on the lawn as she posed in front of each of them for pictures, actually sat on the right front fender of this car to take a picture. The entire crowd gasped. Thankfully there was no damage done. It’s incredible the ignorance of people, particularly at the most prestigious Ferrari event in the country. Aside from that, what an incredible opportunity to see this car in person. I joke that Tom has the easiest job in the world (jk) because when you are dealing at this level, you can almost feel the history of the car while in its presence. It practically speaks to you. Thank you Tom for educating me on this car and many others and sharing your passion with the rest of us.
Thanks John! Great to hear the car is appreciated and I hope she was handed the bill for the picture! 😅
Thank you Tom, missed your talks, Please do more videos
Thanks for sharing Tom
Thank you for creating an amazing video of a very special car.
Truly breathtaking, and your knowledge is also unbelievable. Thank you very much. 👍
Once again truly amazing content 👍👍👍
I could listen to you talk all day, Tom. Nicely done.

Wonderful commentary and insight. Thank you for sharing your experience and passion for this unique car.
This is what gypsy/travellers can achieve when give a level playing field inspiration 👏
Your passion and emotion comes through so clearly Tom - thank you for being so sincere about these beautiful pieces of history
this is such great content really. Please keep it up!
This is just magnificent
Absolutely fascinating beautiful piece
Fantastic video Tom 👍
I appreciate it when a car salesman does not lean on the car
This is a fascinating video with the details of the car and its history. I remember the car well at Pebble. Honestly, the Gothic numbers were an eye-catcher and so interesting to hear they were the numbers for an American driver. I assumed Von Tripps or another German drove the car! It definitely stood out as the only warrior in the group. Tom, thanks so much for this and all of the "Tom Talks" are great!
Originality personified 👏👏👏👏🇦🇺
Another cracking and informative video Tom. The cars of that period were indeed amazing, as were the drivers and those involved. Matched by your enthusiasm and knowledge. Thank you. Now, how much is it?
Great channel
thank you
Just about the only one of these I'd entertain.
The sexiest Ferrari ever made, love this car.
Great video 👍
Awesome car.
Great video great car wow
Would love to see a Sterling Moss, Monza SP2, Aston Martin V12 Speedster, And Mclaren Elva lineup. All great looking open tops from the modern-day!
I would add the Viper RT/10 to your list!
Funny how with vintage race cars attention is drawn to the dent, and the repair of it being visible is seen as a positive. All about provenance and history with such cars. Interesting that after Le Mans it reverted to pontoon fender configuration, I guess it had better brake cooling for the twistier circuits, or something like that. Lovely car, look better without pontoon spec, albeit slightly less distinctive.
Liked the video before even watching it.
Cheers man
This is good.
Ralph Lauren has a wonderful one as well. They all are slightly different and I think his is the best looking imo
Why no mention of the drivers side crash repairs? they appeared to be significant-- more so than the tiny dent in the rear wing--
Fantastic
Super cool
Bravo
Thank you for this. I love a 250 TR but don’t know much about them. Will be watching this a couple of times. Here are more questions for your next Tom Talks: What is the difference between a 275 GTS and 330 GTS, and which one you prefer? What are the differences between classic Range Rovers? I see classic Range Rovers selling between £25,000 and £200,000. What are Tom’s personal cars? What is going with the values of D Types? I see that there is a D Type for sale right now for £2M but you said you turned down an offer for your D Type last year for $8m. And do you still have ex. Lord Laidlaw’s DB4 GT in stock? Thank you for another video!
I love those questions! Now I am more curious. My 1st time here now going down the rabbit hole Thx Love..from...@home of the Concours PB.
Tom I admire you so much and I am not jealous man I could be but its pure admiration I have towards you. Many people sell vintage/classic cars but the selection that you seem to exhibit all seem to be so unique in some shape or form. I am a massive car nut every video I sit down to watch has a history to absorb i will be honest I am not in the financial position at this time to purchase any of your sculptured works of art but mark my words as soon as that day comes I will be jumping on the first flight to come and visit. Spending such a vast amount of money on a car you need confidence that the cars provenance is correct and listening to your passion i would be 100% sure that you did your homework!!
Not even mentioning the fact that you have probably known the car or people that you know have known the car from nearly its manufacturer date. Credit must be given when credits due....! 🙂
My first classic from your collection at the minute would have to be the sold Dino.
Respect Tom Jnr

I am loving the passion and education... working hard to be a future client
Amazing 🚘
Art on Wheels ❤️
Wonderful telling of the car’s history (just finished a bio of Ginther; though little known, he was vital to Ferrari’s success in the early 60s). Curious why the rear fenders are different on this car?
You cant put a price on a history file like that. Unbelievable car!
Well obviously you can put a price on it! LOL
That's fuck up that the kid left the car to the museum and ended up being sold is that what happens when people leave stuff to museum for generations to see and end up being sold I won't even leave a penny to a museum people open your eyes...
In my opinion the pontoon gendered are better looking than the full envelope fenders. Either way,the Testarossa and the 250 GTO are the most beautiful Ferrari’s ever made.
Brilliant film, but I was very distracted by the 312T behind you!
