It's more like he's wincing from the G-forces, and trying to keep himself in the seat while holding a camera. And maybe considering changing his underwear when it's over.
I am 47 years old I have been in a number of Ferraris in my time 250 TDF is one of the most memorable automotive related moments i can recall. My Dad owned a 250 GTE for a while. What an incredible opportunity to ride in a GTO. Amazing torque delivery driving around in 3rd gear alone. What a car che Bella. PS its a 3.0 litre not a 2.5.
I met Tom Price in 1989 at one of his Cars Sales special in NorCal. Bought my wife an 89 Mustang convertible for him. Then saw him drive this car several times at what was then Sears Point. He is a proper owner of a 250 GTO.
Larry, this was an AWESOME video. Would love some more of these classic race car series. You nailed it with how it made you feel after you guys got off the track. Those gated shifts were something to admire.. As a huge fan of all forms of your work, this was extremely enjoyable to watch and Jeff was such a rad dude. He's truly passionate about driving and enjoying them. Tom Price is a true sir for letting the people enjoy that car.
That’s a perfect mindset . Cars are built for people to enjoy. They’re meant to invoke emotions by being driven, not by being kept in storage. I’ve seen some historic Formula 1 racing at COTA in the past, but I’d love to attend a historic racing event as big as that someday, especially at Laguna Seca! Much love from Texas, y’all!
Sweeet! Back in 84 I got a ride in GTO #4293, an epic moment in my automotive lifetime! Larry got a REAL ride here, such enthusiasm too. FYI - the GTO engine is three liters, 300 bhp, the 250 reference is the CCs/cylinder.
I appreciate your respect for this car. Most others offer glamour shots and use the word "awesome" in every sentence. You point out some of the lesser things that are actually interesting and important, like the crude-but-functional door hinges, and the nicely-done welds. Remember- the body on this car was hand-hammered into shape, not made on a roller machine. Then they applied filler, and finally paint.
Thank you SOOOOO much for this video Larry but I think that the 250 GTO has a 3 litres engine and not a 2.5 litres engine like Jeff said. Greetings from Belgium.
When it comes to the welds you have to remember they didn’t have liquid cooled square wave TIG, nor the modern gasses we have today. No those welds are most likely done with a torch and filler rod. I didn’t see the “sawing at the wheel” Larry was talking about, looked pretty effortless to me considering her age and tires
Total RESPECT & Courage ( Tom & Jeff )!!.. .. Drive IT Like you Stole IT!!....LOL! What is The 'Market Value' of this Gorgeous '62 250 GTO....$42 million??? Cheers from Canada!
Omg that is so beautiful. People used to create the most beautiful things. I guess the shape now is basically regulated so that’s sad. But at least we have a few examples of these gems to remind us what is possible. Hell of a thing. Thanks Larry!
To the person creating the videos audio. I would ask that you actually run through this short exercise with your videos. 1. start the video 2. while the music is playing, turn the volume down until you can barely hear it 3. wait for the dialog to come in Did you notice you can't hear the dialog? It is really frustrating to be forced to monitor the volume while watching the videos. Try balancing the audio throughout the video. Imagine you are watching this video late at night and you don't want to wake anyone up. I have the volume just right (volume knob at 6) during the dialog portions. Suddenly, a huge burst of (unbalanced) music erupts. The music is so loud I have to turn the volume down (volume knob at 2). So I don't wake anyone. If the audio is done right one doesn't have t keep the remote in one's hand because parts of the audio blast off like a typical commercials volume. Please review your music and dialog levels and balance the entire video's audio. Thanks!
The guys that designed cars like that didn't just think-up the design. They had the experience of dozens of other designers to build on. It's the same for the chassis and body builders. By sheer repetition, they got so good at forming metal, know how to make door hinges that didn't get bent, and worked smoothly ALL THE TIME, and sometimes they got a chance to trey something new that they knew would work, even though it was new. Like a cake makerthat makes edible art out of flour, butter, and eggs, these old guys made very functional ARFFT. These guys didn't need virtual reality or computers with vector graphics, because they KNEW what worked. My $5000 road bike, which weighs 18 LBs, steers with a finger, stops quickly with one finger on a lever, and just GOES.
You are living my dream today Mr. Larry . Dang . Was lucky enough to go to Laguna Seca for the first time this year . I even got to ride in a Lexus for a flying lap . I would love to be back there in November. I will be at petite Lemans in Atalanta that weekend. Make sure you go and bring us another great video .
Before I even watch the vid, I'm wondering who the grateful soul is that insures this puppy. Last I heard, when your car is over that $10mil price point, coverage is metered out in FEET per year and not mileage. Add: 5:36 Preach!
David McNeil bought his (private sale) for $70M (also 2018)... $48.4 was highest auction price ever.. It's been a few years since one was traded... I think you could easily add 10%/yr to that price and be conservative... Needless to say getting a ride in one is priceless.. Great video!!
Ferrari of that Era were named based on the displacement of each cylinder. The 250 gto had had 12 cylinders x .250 liter = 3.0 liter of displacement. Not 2.5
Ok maybe I misunderstood. I thought the gto driver was saying that this event was designed for the public but I didn't see this anywhere on Thunderhill's schedule? Im only a few hrs away, it's half the distance of road atlanta and I'd love to catch an event like this one day.
It’s coming to Laguna Seca next month I believe. It’s replacement for the Sonoma Raceway (BRING BACK SEARS POINT NAME) event last year which was quite a show (from somebody who has been going to Monterey Historics since 1980s including seeing the ALL GTO RACE!
Of course the driver thinks car collectors need to bring their cars out to these events so that he can drive them. He’s like, “cars belong to the people. They need to be out and driven! And I will drive them for you!”
Not 2.5 liters. "250" is the unitary displacement in cc - one cylinder 250 X 12 = 3000 cc = 3 liters. Rated by the factory at 300 PS/296 hp. Tuned for endurance racing, not sheer power.
@@dinokadribasic9192 Yeah, at 13:54 you can see the whole gate of the shifter. It's either 4th, or if its a dog leg and first is bottom left, 3rd, but I feel like 4th makes more sense.

Tom Price is a baller and a rad dude. He’s been vintage racing this car since I was a little kid and I’m in my 40s. We used to share pits with him.
I grew up with his kids, he was my grandmother's neighbor. Amazing dude.
Awesome side story!
@Johnny Bgood nah but I watched him flog it a lot.
What a treat to be able to see this thing in the metal. Very cool.
Epic! The happiness in Larry's eyes when they are on the track says it all.
It's more like he's wincing from the G-forces, and trying to keep himself in the seat while holding a camera. And maybe considering changing his underwear when it's over.

Not his first one either. I grew up with his kids. He's a great guy no doubt.
Your photos of this car induce goosebumps! Thanks again Larry

Yes yes yes a vintage classic on the channel. This is where the passion is at.

The photos taken made me feel i was with the car the whole time ❤️

Wow… now that was a treat. It’s so cool that they put it through its paces and that he took you out in it. So cool
Best remark ever. It is a race car. Be it extremely rare and special but keep it going as long as we can. Thank you
The 250 GTO is so rare and exclusive, even if it was crashed and restored it wouldn't lose a cent of value.
There re a few ofthose: they were restored, and still have great value.
I could easily see a 1 hour video about this car. I so mutch the GTO. I'm stoked for you Larry !
“Do you even realize what you done?” Absolutely mental. Brilliant.
Thank you SOOOOO much for this video Larry but I think that the 250 GTO has a 3 litres engine and not a 2.5 litres engine like Jeff said. Greetings from Belgium.
250cc x 12 cylinders = 3 liters.
Couldn't agree more. Those kinds of cars deserve to be driven hard 💪

I didn’t see the “sawing at the wheel” Larry was talking about, looked pretty effortless to me considering her age and tires
Innes Ireland picked one of these up from the factory in ‘62, drove it over the Alps to England, and raced it at Goodwood.

2nd to last pic of the intro was insane. Bedroom poster worthy for sure
insanely beautiful captures Larry!!!!!
Hoonigan needs to make a channel just for the beats they use....that intro was fire!!!
I rewound it just for that reason lol

Beautiful car and video. That HANS isn’t doing anything being over the harness, only saying for safety concerns.

My $5000 road bike, which weighs 18 LBs, steers with a finger, stops quickly with one finger on a lever, and just GOES.
There were 41 GTOs built: 36 production units, 3 250 GT SWBs rebodied with the 1964 body, and the 2 prototypes.
One of the most beautiful cars ever made

in my opinion... the most beautiful car ever made.
Wow that is a beautiful thing to see and hear on the track.
I can't wait to buy a print so wish I could make it in November
Why is it worth so much? There will never be anything like it, ever again.
Damn That Beginning Intro Is 🔥 Fire Larry Chen Got To Start It Over !!!
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Someone tell Jeff that this 250 GTO is from 1963, makes around 300 BHP and has a 3 litre engine.
Really hope one of these photos makes it to the Etsy page!
This is the most important and beautiful car ever built in the automobile history, and always Forza Ferrari!
Holy crap I'm coming next year. This is the coolest thign I've ever seen.
incredibly beautiful!
only a few corrections: 3.0 liters, not 2.5. it also makes about 300 hp, not 350
Quite possibly the best automobile ever made!
That Ferrari Is So Beautiful Larry Good Lord !!!
Next level with this one.
Photography is essentially time travel. Embrace it. 1962. Amazing. But not a huge deal for you Larry. Cause your the effing man with the camera.

wish there were some gear changes
The value of this car is under represented. This is THE MOST EXPENSIVE car ever. One sold at auction in 2018 for $48.4 million.
David McNeil bought his (private sale) for $70M (also 2018)... $48.4 was highest auction price ever.. It's been a few years since one was traded... I think you could easily add 10%/yr to that price and be conservative... Needless to say getting a ride in one is priceless.. Great video!!
SO fortunate!
Thank you.
Love the passion
Thanks for this, this was a really good one
my goodness the pic at 0:25 is pure beauty. I would pay $100 for a poster of that.
14:39 Ferrari 250 GTO shift.
What a f***ing legend. Both the car and the driver.
This is one of the most elegant Ferraris ever. Does it have paint protection film? Great to see it on video hope to see it in person.
Imagine seeing someone driving this super rare car
Been waiting for this one!
I love Ferraris. Especially this one and mine.
when he shifted up, i nearly lost it OMG
Amazing
Just amazing. $54 million bucks. 54k views. Beautiful post.
I love how it has an MSD ignition box in a gazillion dollar car 😆 definitely didn't see that coming
It says 250 for the capacity of each cylinders by twelve that makes the Colombo 3 liter.
Up to 300hp.
One of two of my favorite Ferrari's. Spread butter on my toast...
Ferrari of that Era were named based on the displacement of each cylinder. The 250 gto had had 12 cylinders x .250 liter = 3.0 liter of displacement. Not 2.5
You can keep your Picasso and your Monet il have that 250gto all day long epically beautiful
The 250 in the name is the displacement of each cylinder, which works out to 3.0 litres. 290-300 hp
So much torque he only had to shift once.
In case y’all weren’t paying attention, this car was built in 1962!
5:30 preach 🙌 someone make the sultan of Burnei listen to this dude.
Wow, bellissimo!
Love my grotti gt500. Or whatever you wanna call it.
Wow!
Driver = 5-pt. harness + HANS
Larry = lap belt YOLO 🤪
That sound.....
Lucky dog!!
True gear head.
That is such a crazy sight, a 250gto , speed tail, senna gtr that’s like how much my whole neighborhood cost lol 😂
Neighbourhood kinda expensive
🔥🔥 what music is that?
The best viewing track?
Cough Spa 😉
wow if i experiance that i be good and dandy if i died... or a hot lap in the gto at the Nurburgring
Ok maybe I misunderstood. I thought the gto driver was saying that this event was designed for the public but I didn't see this anywhere on Thunderhill's schedule? Im only a few hrs away, it's half the distance of road atlanta and I'd love to catch an event like this one day.

Pretty sure that was 4th

you lucky devil. omg. Wow.
cool
Less talk, more “vroom vroom” 🤫🤐
whats with the volume man cant hear anything
If I was a billionaire, I would buy this thing to drive. I don’t care if that sounds stupid or reckless, I want to enjoy driving it.
Star of the show comes on at 12:43.
Up to then it’s just blah blah blah.
Tom Price is a graleat guy.
