Problematic leadership which is causing belly fat, acid reflux, skin problems, a flooding of the mind and body with cortisol, auto immune conditions, means that doctors need to start diagnosing patients with DISTRESS, not just "stress". And Distress in terms of oppression of human rights, which requires approaching the law to fix, which then includes talking to professionals who know what rights are being oppressed, writing it down, having meetings about it, having actions taken against the individual/s who are oppressing others. (not, diagnosing them with stress and suggesting exercise and tablets)

I think what you had where pseudoallergic reactions. I am a bit histamine intolerant and it used to be stronger, so strong I really had to be on a strict diet, for about 10 years.
and that is how I learned about pseudoallergic reactions.
      the connection is this:
the body stores histamine in special cells. and it has a purpose. it gets released into the bloodstream when we are stressed (amongst other things) to do it's thing (I forget what it is, it's good for. it gaave me so much trouble that I thought it wasn't good for anything)
histamine is also the transmitter that is the gobetween an allergen (pollen or something) and the allergic reaction. so you can get an allergic reaction without having had an allergen because histamine was released.
it's brilliant that you got rid of it. but what can also help is to take a histamine blocker (simple anti allergy pills) before a stressfull day. the night before and in the morning. it never solved the whole problem for me, but it can take the edge off.

I've had constant extreme stress from November 2022 at my workplace which translated to my private life. I couldn't finish all my subjects at uni for the fall and spring semester. Not to mention that I can't seem to relax even a tiny bit. I still feel like a failure, a burden, no will and motivation left in me. This left me getting a simple cold with runny nose in August and coughing and up to this point resulted in laryngitis and coughing till I threw up with a killer sore throat. I've been on sick leave for the week but honestly... staying awake or doing simple chores like making myself a meal are challenging.

This is interesting as i am piling on the weight even though i am exercising more than historically i have done, eating better also. Yes i am now 40 vs 35 or even 30 so keeping the weight off is harder. But the stress since covid is what is killing me. no income for two years lost 187k in earning savings and now i think i am working to hard to claw it all back. That being said the results are turning now, mainly i walk a lot no gym, so low intensity to clear my mind. Also hate to say it not caring, low mental impact, why care about work, do it work go home. this was tough to switch my mentality.

Cortisol may cause fat to be stored around mid section but the extra calories still have to come from somewhere. We're not breaking laws of thermodynamics. Otherwise, world hunger wouldn't be a thing.
It's how we deal with stress is the problem. Most people just sit down and consume a bucket of ice cream or copious amounts of alcohol.
Dealing with stress is obviously very important for many reasons and how it affects sleep is one of them. Among other things, the amount of sleep we get determines if we store calories as fat or build / preserve muscle tissue.

Stress makes me skinny because it causes anxiety. Which makes me feel grossed out easily and in the end makes it difficult to eat. I do notice my stomach acts up a lot after panic attacks or a sudden stressful moment like a big startle. If I stress for more than an hour non stop, it will likely cause a migraine. I do notice my skin gets a little drier when stressing more often. & I do have acid reflux but it’s probably from a mix of anxiety and spicy food 😅

People who are stressed and skinny aren't always necessarily healthy. Stress-skinny people can get other autoimmune issues like mast cell activation, or chronic fatigue, multiple sclerosis, lupus, and other stuff. That inflammatory fire burns the body eventually or people snap/project their stress outwards to the people around them. It's healthier to channel into chores, exercise, writing, or talk to someone like a friend or acquaintance who understands or a therapist if you need it. Stress is like a lot of emotions that are like hormonal-electrical whirlpools in the body that can exhaust you. Sleep too is really important.

Sleeping for 8:15, and in bed for 9?
That does not ring a bell for me, and I've read many sleep studies. Maybe it's a newer study. 🤷‍♂️
Regardless, that does not jive with my personal experience, nor the experiences of most of the people I've spoken to on this subject.
Sleep cycles average 90 minutes for most people, and most people benefit most from 5 complete cycles. 8:15 would be 5.5 cycles for most people, which is worse than 5 full cycles. 9 hours would be 6 full cycles, which is too much for most people, and starts to cause an ironic lethargy.
Perhaps the actual data she's referring to is people taking 45 minutes to fall asleep, sleeping for 7:30, and resting in bed for 45 minutes after waking.
Otherwise, this sounds like hooey to me.

The thumbnail photo looks like stress will get you pregnant, as the belly looks like that of a pregnant woman not a fat belly.

    Wrong.....
People are getting fatter cause our food is getting worse..
People do not take responsibility In making healthy meals...
Iv train for over 10 years
    Eaten well for 10 years...
Stress does give ur body alot of problems bt also give u benefits.. take the negative energy..an do something with it ur already struggling or in pain .so do something good with it... take responsibility...
    Get in the gym.
    Eat better.
    Drink more water...
    Get more sunlight
The main problems with the human body is are intake. Are food has got so bad over time... every tine u buy when going to the shop is full of shit... oils.. fats..
This is why people are putting on fat. An many other problems start happening..
My body has changed dramatically in last 2 years.by cutting out wheat an dairy...
My diet now is a beef an 8 vegetables stew made fresh in the morning..to take to work..6 days of the week..
Breakfast is oats in hot water with real honey. Not that crap u get at the supermarket... with organic peanut butter.
An 2 eggs every day... sometimes with avocado an fish.... or bit of bacon an mushroom make nice omelet..
Snacks are jerky. Mix nuts an seeds. Dried cranberries...
Evenings il have steak mushrooms spinach or chicken an rice or even a takeaway I still enjoy treats....
Problem is people need to be told u are lazy... take responsibility.. u might say u can't afford those foods... u can cause yes fish an steak every day u think is expensive..bt I'm not buying from the shops
Pies pizzas ice cream sweat..biscuits . Sausage rolls... I just buy fresh fruit an vegetable. Stock up on loads of meat.. the money works out roughly the same...
People get to a point where its just easier to take something out of a few boxes an chuck it in the oven....
These days there's too much bulking up in are food with oils fats an carbs....
    ..
Why u think they put wheat nearly in everything.... the people that have tried carnival diets have had amazing results.. even people over the age of 60 are burning fat maintaining muscle... an seeing a decline in body problems.....

I think you missed her whole point. She is not saying that if you have stress, you will become fat, She is saying people who have higher stress levels for long periods of time are susceptible to belly fat. She is saying the hormone cortisol that is released into our blood is the reason for someone to be susceptible to belly fat. Cortisol hormone is the fight, flight, or freeze reaction when our body feels it is being threatened. We all have stressful moments, but some people stay in high stress mode, and constantly having the cortisol hormone released into their bloodstream at a much higher level and for longer periods of time. Those are the people she is talking about.
I do appreciate your ideas on eating healthy and you have given me some excellent food ideas to incorporate into my healthy meal planning. Eating healthy doesn't have to be expensive when you have the right foods and you have no problem making the meals your self.
