Mom had a 2001 from 2004-2011 or so. Typical GM, 3.1 V6, head gasket went, and other things stopped working on it. Certainly don't miss this gen of Malibu haha.
Haha yeah, I know what you mean. I had the intake manifold gaskets replaced, planning ahead, but then the timing chain gasket went eventually. Still drivable keeping an eye on the coolant, but the rust was getting to the frame (chicago car). It was time to let it go haha Other than that the car overall was good to me though over the years. I believe the better years were from 1997-2000 in my opinion, before they did some updates for 2001-03 (04-05 classic)
