Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your videos for their openness, honesty, and bravery in sharing both the giggly moments when something silly happens, and the sad & somber moments of recollecting the beloved animal companions who are no longer with us.
I must tell you that the footage of Colt playing with his squeaky toy in a state of such pure and unadulterated joy is some of the most delightful, uplifting and therapeutic video I have ever seen, and is something that I intend to clip and save for my regular viewing as well as, hopefully with your blessing, to share with some friends who could use a dose of such a wonderful tonic right now.
Please thank Colt for being a bright ray of sunshine in what sometimes seems a gray or even darker world.
And of course, congratulations on your ongoing progress which is an inspiration to us all, and of which you should rightfully be very proud.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I've been struggling a bit myself, but I'm getting there! Colt's wonky ears remind me of a cat I had years ago, that my Dad found and gave to me. She had been living pretty rough when I got her, and she figured out that if she looked pitiful eventually someone would come along and take care of her. Smart girl! But she would turn her ear inside out and have a snaggle tooth sticking out when she wanted attention. I would tell her to make herself pretty, and her ear and tooth would magically go back to normal! Her name was Hazel Jean Jelly Bean Dancing Queen. I miss her sweet face.

Thanks for taking care of the entry before I got there. Even though we didn't end up needing to use the fireplace, it was nice to have a bit of space to shift stuff to when tackling craft mountain. 😅 I wish we could have gotten more done, but hopefully, we can work on it again in the near future. Love you!❤ And I love watching Colt with his new toy. 😂😂😂

Ah craftalanches and stashquakes the bane of every overstuffed craft room! I've not had one for a while but I regularly had to be rescued by my husband from a pile of craft supplies landing on me every time I breathed in the wrong direction! Awww you have given Colt such a good life. Seeing him jump around, squeaking his toy makes my heart happy. My mom and I used to do scrapbooking together but I haven't been able to bring myself to do it anymore. It's been 8 years since she passed on. I've decided I'm going to let all of it go (if I emotionally can). It was fun because it was something we did together. Of course, I'm stumped on my new thing Lol. I have arthritis in my hands now so that's another reason why I won't be starting back up. Mira, I love your positive attitude and your laughter. I also smile when I watch your channel, Thank you so much for being a light in this old world. I need to declutter and I know what to do but making myself do it, is a whole different story. I'm super proud of you for being so open and transparent with the decluttering process. You are doing great!!

I got a cat, Harley, when I was 22. Had him for 21 years. I'm 68 now. I adored him and I miss him to this day. The pain gets muted but never goes away. I am tearing up as I type this.
Oh my god, I misread that on first pass as 'him' being 22 when you got him & having him for 21 years. Hope this gives you a laugh because holy moly that would be a Record-holding cat!
My condolences for the loss of your fur baby. I had my cat for 23 years! She developed kidney disease and hung in there for 8 more years with this diagnosis. Eventually I had to say goodbye. I often think about my baby and miss her tremendously. ❤
@boardingpassjunkie She/he lived to 31 years? That's incredible but no matter how old it's always too soon to say goodbye.

Just wanted to point it out because you used to say that you were 'bad' at organizing.
Edit: You start to talk about this around 5:40. I love that you call them pockets of organization. They really are, and once you remove the clutter you will likely rely on those! We all organize, sometimes there is just to much stuff to organize.
One of the beautiful things about hobbies is that we can let them slide and pick them up whenever. I have walked away from my favourite exercise for two and a half years, first because of Covid, then because of an injury. I picked it up again a year ago and I am so glad I took my time, even though I know that this specific kind of exercise is so good for me.
I chuckled when I spotted the first water bottle on the floor 🤭 Gotta keep hydrated!
It will be awesome to get the scrapbook room back functioning, and with the help of Bonnie it will be so much easier to get it done. Happy Easter! ❤❤❤

My wife finally purged her crafts and supplies due to health issues. She was able to get rid of her mothers quilting supplies, but not her quilts of course. !! She said it felt so good and free since doing this. Also, knew DIL wouldn’t be interested in all quilting and sewing supplies. She’s so glad you’re able and ready to purge! Wishing you the best

I am so excited to see the progress in the craftroom. Congratulations in advance for your courage in doing what it takes to get this room back. I keep thinking that using a reacher would help you pick up all those little pieces on the floor without bending . I use my reacher everyday because I have chronic back pain, and it helps me keep my area decluttered. You are doing an amazing job, thank you so much for inspiring me to keep cleaning my own place.

Love you laughs. Good job with the cleaning, for safety (among other reasons!). Broken bones or other “hurts” are a can take our independence away…and animal care gets very hard (trust me!).

Aw sorry for your loss. The first two boys I had as an adult went almost twenty years ago and if I talk about them I still get emotional. They are our babies, our family. Big hugs to you ❤

Not only is Colt so cute playing with his squeaky toy, he has figured out how to play ‘fetch’ all by himself. What a smart boy!
Mira, you nailed it when you said in your P.S. that we all need something we love to do. Exercising our creativity can help exorcise our demons. I love painting on bisque as well acrylic painting. Never in my prior 74 years would I have guessed that! The two activities give a structure to my life and provide me with endless hours of pleasure, as I am sure scrap booking does for you.
On a final note, you are looking absolutely wonderful - and you sound so much better than a few months ago. Yes, SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is a real thing. During the dark months I use my Light Book every morning for half an hour or so, and it truly helps. May I suggest you look into acquiring one? They’re not expensive.

I started decluttering about six or seven years ago because of the show, Hoarders. I still have a lot, but it was so much more.
Each item that goes, is one step closer to your goal. I’m really really impressed that you recycle. I admit, I gave in at times and just threw away frustrating bits.

So heartwarming to see Clay and Colt in, out and around. They’re so cute. You got a nice start on the scrapbook room, I’m looking forward to seeing you and Bonnie declutter it and set things right. Related to last ? week’s issue about getting going again after a needed pause in decluttering, I listened a few days ago to a Dana K White podcast about that topic. It was episode 412, something about “the middle.” She mostly reframed in order to help change perspective and feelings. I was surprised at how helpful I found it. Perhaps someone else will too. Thank you Mira for another helpful video!

Mira, are you familiar with reacher grabber tools? Using one would make it much easier for you to pick things up off the floor and deposit them into a trash bag without bending. Much less exertion than using a broom and dustpan to remove large items from the floor. Also great for getting at hard-to-reach items; I use mine to pick up trash outside that's fallen behind my bushes. They're not very expensive and, IMO, well worth the cost.
When the paper you shelved fell I said "oh no!" lol and then you started laughing too. Laughter can get us through a lot, same with accepting that we're doing our best and what that looks like 'today' can be enough. I'm excited to see more progress in the scrapbook room and you having space to really explore your materials and be busy in there.

By the way, I highly recommend you take D-vitamin during the winter. Low D-vitamin is one of the main reasons for S.A.D.
Something to consoder for the scrap room... either multiple small bins around the place to keep it tidy or one large recycling bin right next to your work area.

I know that Bonnie prefers that you don't clean the room beforehand, but I think it was really smart to clean the area by the stairs and fireplace for everyone's safety.

Mira please no apologies for awkward angles, everything has to be learned - also how to place a camera. I have several friends who love 💕 scrapping, but I just can't. But I relax by doing genealogy and crocheting. Both fill a lot, wish I had a "Bonnie" near by to help organize it. But inspired by your "one little space at the time" I get it organised. Thank you.

I'm so excited for you to be in your craft room! Great job! I've been looking forward to this, as I want you to be able to have your happy place back again. Can't wait for Bonnie to join you, I've been anticipating her video. What you have given Colt means the world. To think that that little fella was an outside dog and now he has his outside time with his new squeaky toy but, gets to come inside and feel all the comforts of a safe, warm comfy home, made even better by spending it with you and Clay. Where was Clay while Colt was having a big time? I kept waiting for him to join him in play. Colt has come a long way in the short time you have had him. He is so much more at ease now. You can see how much he loves you when he watches you the way that Clay always does. I look forward to your videos each week. You are doing amazing! I too suffer from the winter blues. So happy to see Springtime.
Thank you so much! Clay is not a big fan of the scrapbook room. If he is in there, he's usually on a bed underneath the crafting table. But he'll often retreat to the living room to look out the window.
Thank you for sharing. ( Btw. if you put the trash bag in a bucket and fold the top over, you don't have to handle the bag ; i note that i like to bang the dustpan on the edge of the bucket when emptying things into it, too.)
So happy to hear your laugh! 🤭 Please make sure you keep your Vitamin D levels up, it does make a big difference especially if you have SAD. Anytime you can sit in the sunshine, take 15 to 20 minutes to make you feel better! It sounds like you are really working through your issues with the decluttering!
SO TRUE. Get your doctor to order a test for Vit D and Vit B12, it is common to have a deficiency. My energy was below zero prior to supplementation, but now I have lots of energy.
Taking a coffee break from decluttering my one catch-all room, which I'm TRYING to turn into a functional guest room. Had to pause this video at 5:35 because you say, " I don't do much putting away of stuff because there's nowhere to put the stuff". That's exactly what I'm dealing with right now. *sigh*. And getting rid of all those things that there is no place for is too painful. Therefore ... coffee break time! lol.

You: I want to get rid of the plastic on the floor to make it safer so Bonnie doesn't slip.
Also you: Walked through that room countless times while working on cleaning up your bedroom, juggling load after load of laundry while that plastic was on the floor. >__<
Another cleaning channel I like mentioned recently how cleaning is easier when you're doing it for someone else, because then it's a gift to that person rather than a chore you have to do. Seems accurate to the above situation: a gift to Bonnie to make her more comfortable when she came over.

May I ask why you wear a mask in your home? Is it the dust from various things or are you camera shy? I'm not being critical, just curious. You have such wonderful curly hair, we would love to see your face!
Seeing the loving home you have given Colt and Clay warms my heart! I wish all animals could have a good home. I always see all the cute dog toys at the store, but our boy destroys them in minutes, so I’ve given up!
