I appreciate the support! In the future, I'll be doing a engine oil + filter change. That video should be dropping around the end of February!

Do you have to replace it? What is the sign that it is bad? They say you shake it and if it is not rattling the valve is shut, replace it.My 2009 tsx is 215,000 miles and with original PCV valve and it is still good, still rattles when I shake it.Just sharing my experience ,Thank you sir.

@@efrensaclolo7021 After 100k miles, I replaced mine just for peace of mind. It's a cheap part and easy to replace yourself.

unlike the plastic pcv valve on the accord that gets damaged by the high temp blowby, this pcv valve seems pretty reusable. Maybe cleaning it on a yearly basis is enough to restore its full ventilation capability?

The reason this PCV valve seems reusable is that it has 10,000 miles on it since I last replaced it. I had a rear main seal leak and I thought my new PCV was shot, turns out the shop that did my clutch and rear main seal installed a bad part. The original PCV that had about 122,000 miles on it was pretty crudded up with oil.

Would a bad pcv valve cause the smell of burning oil after you drive the car on freeway for 20 min?

I had that problem in my girlfriends car a couple days ago here. You probably figured it out lol but it was the valve cover gasket leaking and the oil dropped onto the manifold.

I believe both the pcv and EGR contributes a lot to the oil consumption issue, at least in the case of Honda/Acura. Does TSX have EGR?

The TSX does NOT have an EGR system. Most post 2010 cars do not have an EGR. Even my 2000 Toyota 4Runner does not have one.

what symptoms can be when PCV valve is failure?

    • @diyathome8631

Oil consumption my friend. You can pinch the line of the pcv valve while the car is running and it should do some clicking sounds. If it doesn't then its bad.

my Pcv valve sheared in half when putting it in! The bolt casing is stuck in the hole how to I get it out?

Same thing happen to me. I used a baby pair of angled needle nose pliers. Put pliers in the hole opened them and twisted it out
