2009 Acura TSX Fuel Injector Replacement (Vivration on D and N Issue)

  • This procedure is the same for all second gen TSX Acuras from 2009 through 2014 and some similar year Honda Accords. This vehicle is known as the Euro Accord in Europe.
My TSX is having a lot of vibration issues while on D ad R and they seem to be less severe when going on N and P. When the AC is off then the vibration is more consistent but once the AC kicks the compressor on and off, the vibration intensity fluctuates. Here is a list of all the things I have tried:
    -Replace Air Intake Filter
    -Replace Spark Plugs
    -Replace Ignition Coils
    -Clean Throttle Body
    -Clean MAF sensor
    -Replaced VC Joints
-Drain and fill transmission fluid (2 times willingly and a 3rd time due to CV seals breaking)
-Replaced All 3 engine mounts, two front and the transmission mount
Could it be a weak battery or alternator? Battery tested 100% health and alternator passed OK test.
Could it be a worn Torque Converter? No transmission fluid changes had been performed until I bought it at 118k miles.
Could it be a worn engine? I am going to perform a compression test soon and find out.
I could not find any video tutorials of this online so here I am. For anyone that has no clue how to do it, you can use this as a guideline. Needless to say be smart and do not come crying in the comments if you mess it up. Total time was approximately 30 minutes of work. If you know what you are doing it would not take more than 10-15 minutes.
This should be the same for similar year Honda Accords. I suspect so because they use the same part. Anyway I am thinking of putting the old ones back in since the tip seems to be identically clean.
    Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for the video.
    You should try fist
    •cleaning your throttle body
•Replace the engine air filter if needed
    •Compression test
    •spark plugs if needed
    and then engine mounts.
    Good luck.
Please update, when you find the solution to your TSX problem.

I have 19" HFP wheels on a 2012 tsx and I have a vibration at highway speeds. I gave the wheels to a shop and they found 2 bent rims and are fixing those. I suspected I had at least 1 bent rim.

    • @HealthyCriticism
      @HealthyCriticism  3 роки тому

I also suspected one rim would be broken but I didn't want to invest on that. Turns out that the shoppe that put the axles on my car put crappy ones. 2 months ago I took it to a car shop and they confirmed at least about 500$ worth of repairs to start fixing things that are obviously broken. I traded it in and bought a 2020 accord lol

Crankshaft position sensor? That giving improper readings causes bad air fuel mixture ratio. Easy change.

Remember to disconnect the car battery first for your safety when you are removing the fuel line, flammable gasoline and spark can have a bad ending

Hey Healthy, I have an Acura TSX 09. Same as the model in the video. But I have a slight issue.
I have two codes set off. P0171 and P0420. One being “System Too Lean” and the other code is for a “Catalyst Converter Threshold Bank 1. So therefore one is leading to the other. In anyone’s experience with these cars ... what would you recommend..? Buying a whole new catalytic converter? I live in Nevada. No one could give me a reasonable answer.

    • @HealthyCriticism
      @HealthyCriticism  3 роки тому +1

The two codes are not related.
      For the first one www.fixdapp.com/blog/p0171-honda/
This might help. Start with the easy fixes and work your way up.
For the catalytic converter one, only worry about it if your state has emissions testing, or if you care about the environment. It won't affect your car in any other way

My newest vehicle, a 2011 acura tsx wagon's fuel rail won't even budge, even with a pry bar. And this car came from Florida. Seemed like almost no struggle for you to pull off the fuel rail. I must have missed a nut or bolt. That SOB rail was not pulling out. Grrrr...

Hey Healthy, I have the same issue with my 2010.....Ive just did a tune up with new denso sparkplugs, engine air filter, 3x3 transmission change (I changed at 60k , 90k, now at 130k), coolant change, transmission filter, cleaned throttle body, (didn't clean maf as honda ones don't clean well/do anything), brake fluid, replace faulty VTC actuator......Used all acura parts... Still no change on my side either.

@@HealthyCriticism Compression is fine....all honda engine start to burn oil over 100k....(its not that big a deal, no tail pipe smoke, no excessive carbon when engine was pulled apart)...I add a half quart at 2500 miles and do a oil change at 5k....
I know that syntheic oil can last 25k miles or more....its the oil filter that I dont trust....oil filter tech been the same for the last 80years....nothing much better has come along besides paper filters.
And if im going to the trouble of putting my car on a lift to change the filter, im changing the oil too.....besides I did the math and the low cost of oil vs mileage reduction due to friction is about a savings of $5...
Oh, one thing about the idle vibration....it was more noticeble for me in the winter than the summer at the beginning....three years later, it happens with the same severity at all temps....
