The news in Canada still has a fair amount of "orange man bad", the main difference is Biden propaganda is replaced with Trudeau apologia or smearing the previous Conservative administration.
As a Canadian that lives in a border city, pretty much it went away... well, maybe I just learned to watch less TV news. There were always little bits mentioned like when they were trying to make J6 bigger than it really was, and then you got a bunch of random lawsuits against the guy. At least friends on social media have calmed the TDS, but it's starting to show its head. I don't know how much longer before I start sharing memes making fun of Biden, and commenting on their insane posts. So far, I'm just commenting on random group posts that end up in my feed. I know the ones I know irl won't even let me pull up a video to show them why they're wrong about something Trump said. So weirdly invested in the anti-Trump narrative. Foreign relations and diplomacy are still part of the job description, and to the extent that consideration doesn't neglect America, it should be given. In fact diplomacy is critical to the country's existence in the first place.

These same people complain that he didn't act like a dictator in 2020 and put a stranglehold on the states when the pandemic hit. He can literally do no right in these people's eyes.
Same thing happened with Bush Jr. People were absolutely certain that he would start rounding up gays and non-whites and putting them in camps if he was elected for a second time (guess he just didn't get around to it his first term). There is a large demographic that I won't name, projecting their insecurities and denial upon Biden as a dignified senior worthy of respect.
I keep hearing people saying Trump lied during the debate, but I never hear anyone say WHAT he lied about.
Incorrect figures being stated (mostly in ways that didn't hurt the point he was making), and his usual hyperbole, that anyone with common sense should understand. I saw more blatant lies from Biden, mostly by calling out truths Trump said as lies.

He didn't lie about anything. I will concede he did doge a couple of questions like with climate change and abortion. But he didn't lie. He just has a different narrative than the one they've bought into. Like the abortion thing where he was talking about late term abortions. A lot of people still don't believe that just because they haven't done the research on it at all. These people aren't abortion extremists they've kinda been gas lit and deceived into supporting abortion and don't realize how extreme some states want to take it. They legit don't believe things that have been documented because they've been conditioned to simply reject anything our side says. So that's one thing I keep hearing them cite as a "lie" that isn't. This happened in the 2016 election too. I remember being so fucking mad when Trump said that they wanted to rip babies out of the womb. I really did believe that he was blatantly lying and the whole zygote argument "a zygote is just a lump of cells. We don't want abortion for anything beyond a zygote"
Then a few months later they did exactly what he said on that debate stage. That was a pivotal issue for me that turned me from an ignorant Bernie Bro into my path to becoming MAGA. I acrually did the research and kept my eyes and ears open and admitted when I was wrong about Trumps rhetoric. So i get where they are coming from. People really think that every Maga supporter is an anti abortion extremist. They think were ALL like Oklahoma conservatives. Were not. Many of us including Trump himself are OK with early term abortion for actual zygotes *personally I'm not in terms of personal beliefs but I'm willing to compromise or even fight for that just for the sake of admitting that I don't know the struggles of women and that they need a little time, I'm willing to draw a line somewhere and give them an inch and know many conservatives that agree.
Were fine with exceptions for rape and incest and most of us wouldn't want to get rid of those things. But some states have a deep catholic or Baptist culture. Most of the people in these states want no abortion period. That's literally democracy. Roe v wade literally impedes the democratic process on an issue that needs to be handled democratically. If the majority of people in OK want a ban on abortion that is their choice. Right???
Like I would never expect California to ban abortion. They are clearly majority leftist and pro abortion. I simply will stay away from California and not get a girl pregnant from California. That's their choice. It's my choice. But ROE takes away choice it only gives choice to ONE group.
I noticed the majority of these women saying that Roe protects women's rights are women that can't have babies anymore or who specifically chose not to have children. Rarely are they suburban mothers or even low income mothers with kids. Rarely are they single moms who have made tons of sacrifices!

As someone whose primary social media is Facebook, I can attest that TDS never died. and it's tiring to watch. between deflecting all acountability away from Biden and Democrats in general and blaming everything on Trump.

Especially on the topic of the hush money and tax valuation trials, the number of very non-political people I have heard recently voice pro-Trump opinions is fascinating.
