Hey, I am currently looking to purchase the magnetic drain plug for my 08' m3 as well. Don't you need 2? One for front sump drain and one for rear (one you installed in the video) ?
Hi Rahim welcome to the S65 DIY gang :D I used only one magnetic drain plug for the engine oil sump because of the bolt design. The OE drain plugs are with hex internal drive, where the one I used in the video has hex external drive. The latter is sticking out of the oil sump a bit much so I decided not to use it in order to keep the ground clearance. Besides, the oil is circulating in the engine so I think one magnet is enough to catch the metal shavings. Oh buy the way, I thing these from ECS Tuning has quality. You can trust them ;)
@@funcarsgoodpeople Awesome, thank you for the info! I ended up realizing that like you said the bolt design wont match for the front. I just did my oil change today and both of the drain plugs were stripped. But thanks to a quality extractor I was able to get them out pretty quick. I also purchased the diff and dct plugs as well so thank you for the recommendation in the videos!
@@rahimrustamov8241 Thank you Rahim for the feedback! It's my pleasure. Please do come back and let us know how those magnetic drain plugs work! In my last engine oil change, the magnetic tip did not have any metal accumulation, only slight sludge. I think my engine is quite healthy🤨
