Just bought a br800x. My first leaf blower
When you put gas in it I have found that if you lean it towards it side at a 45 degree angle that it will take an extra quart of fuel over just filling it on a flat surface . I can get an hour and a half of wide open run time that way . I sweep parking lots at Large centers and get 500 yards or better away from the truck so I need the extra run time when blowing Shopping center sidewalks .
I'm applying the same method when fueling and I have no issues with the running time.
I have the BR 700 and just love it
Its a good blower for sure!
That gas tank on the br800 is a good point bro. I used the br800 and own the 8010 and the 8010 does have a little more power than the br800 and the 8010 also runs longer on a full tank of gas than the br800. I love stihl but the 8010 has more power and longer run time, glad I went with the 8010.
Yes sir those are good points! I have both and prefer the 8010 over the BR800!
Tank is small to keep weight down
Tilt it a little bit up until the fuel hole is positioned horizontally, you'll be able to fuel it up to maximum.
Pretty sure that flooded mine lol
@@danielvandermerwe7921 that shouldn’t flood the carb. It could if you brimmed the tank and then left it in that sun so the pressure forced past the carb if your tank vent isn’t working right.
I have the BR800 and get hour and twenty or thirty minutes on a tank. My question is what is difference in a magnum and one that's not a magnum
Thanks for the info! I have a Husky 580, which I adore, but the dealer support for Husqvarna is terrible in my area. Considering the BR800X for my next blower - how do you think the two compare? Thanks.
Husky has a little more power but the Stihl is more comfortable. I think I have a video comparing the two
Sorry bro - just saw that you did a video on this topic. Going to watch now. Thanks!
@@AlKyRi no worries man. Hope it helps! Thanks for the support!
@@CleanCutLawnsNC Sure did, thanks a mil!
@@CleanCutLawnsNCI have the Husky 580bts and the Sthil br800x and IMO the sthil is faster. Both great blowers. Sthil is more comfortable and less weight.
I have the same issue with the br 800 , has power but ,you have to refill it constantly ,twice every job site ,it sucks ,but other than that no issues ,
Yep that's my thoughts exactly
Love my PB-8010 echo 4 the win !
I like mine too!
Like day and night after owning stihl for 10 years then switched to Echo there's no comparison parts are cheaper for Echo you don't need a dealer bs like stihl and just more reliable.
@@fierrosoft I wouldnt say they are more reliable. Id say its just about the same. Im a small engine mechanic, and I get about equal amounts of Stihl and Echo equipment in. I only own Stihl, I dont like how fuel lines and cables are exposed on the Echos. However I will give it to echo, parts are more accessible, cheaper, and the equipment is easier to work on. Everytime someone brings in a Stihl that needs any part, I have to drive the next town over to the dealership. But other than that, I think Stihl has a better design and better build quality.
I solve the extra 20 min needed problem on my BR800x on my biggest property with 3 office buildings and a long walk back to my truck, by putting a new bottled water bottle of gas in my pocket as I used to do with my handheld blower
Yes sir I do the same for my blower or trimmer . Carry a water bottle with mix . Solves that issue
That's a good idea , at least it will help finishing the job and not walking all the way to the truck and back were I left of , 👍
So far I only have one stihl blower and my others are Echo
Which one do you like the best?
just ran my br 800 for 2 hours straight?? obv not full on (still have half a tank) its the most efficient blower for its size, does hold a quart less than the 9010 yet runs 50% longer.
I hear ya! That was just an issue that I had with the blower! Hope all is well! 👊
They have that size of tank for a reason, cool down period. If you run through a tank, and don't let it cool down between fills, you will keep it overheated & will wear the rings, coil, internal motor parts etc.
A knowledgeable landscaper knows, use a tank of gas in a blower, and then grab a second blower while the first one cools.
One hot day of 85 degrees plus, running through tanks in the same blower & it will have damage & will eventually fry. Even 2 tanks on a row, a stihl blower gets so hot that you can touch it,, the plastic shrouds will even stink its so hot & that is detrimental to the motor!!
That is good info. On the flip side of that, I'm not going through a tank at a time when it's over 85 degrees.
"I can't deny the power" lol 😆 😂 🤣
Cold hard facts..
*Great vid, the biggest question I have is what makes anyone want to buy the br800 as opposed to the 8010 considering the 8010 is more powerful and runs longer on a tank of fuel than the br800. I'm a stihl fan and all my other equipment other than my 8010 is stihl but as far as choosing one backpack blower what's so special about the br800 other than the fact that it's a stihl? Is the telescoping tube and side start on the br800 that good?*
I would assume that dealer support plays a role in it. Also, a lot of people are loyal to their brand and won't uae anything else
@@CleanCutLawnsNC That's true about the brand loyalty. Here in dallas, tx nearly every stihl dealer is also an echo dealer.
@@bigtexas7580 if you have only used Stihl and Stihl has been good to you why would you switch? If it works why change it.
Same exact problem The Tank should have been double the size
Agreed
I just traded mine for the br700
I feel like Blowers have been half and half lately! Like as of now we have a lot of powerful options on the market. And brands out do each other in different categories!
You're right about that. I'm not sure there's a wrong way to go
Wow, nice looking blower. Gives a good reason to take a break. Run a blower 15 to 45 minutes and you deserve a break.
Never thought about that but that is a good point! I'm always in a hurry lol
@@CleanCutLawnsNC Thats right. Fill that tank, gulp some water and get back at. Rest is the ride between jobs. One of the main reasons I drive so slow right :)
I don't blame you one bit!
Like the new Intro Tyler!
Thanks man! Hope youre still liking your 8010!
Do you use 89 or 93 gas in it
89 Non Ethanol
I get in mines about 30-40 89 with stabil on it
I don’t own any stihl blowers so I won’t know what it’s like to have a smaller tank than my redmax
I've never had a Redmax blower. Have ran their weedeaters and was definitely happy with it
Worth buying for $599?
It's a pretty good blower, I like mine
Will it blow up hill?
Take a break
More gas more weight
That's very true
That why I like my Husqvarna 580bts better
Definitely a beast of a blower
@@CleanCutLawnsNC yeah and it reliability
The image is too offensive
#incredibottle
Probably not a bad idea
this blower is unfortunately a big disappointment. I expected a lot more power. It is maybe 10 pricent more powerful than the BR700. For me it is quite a disappointment and I am considering selling it
