    I bought the BR - 800 X for the weight reduction. Near three more pounds is a change IMO. The pull start is nice until it breaks leading up to more expensive repairs. I like keeping it simple and light.

    The 800c straps are what I bought the blower for. That is the game changer for me. No more readjusting the straps all the time to get comfortable with the blower on the back. The belt idea was genius!

    I have the C model. You guys are all wrong. That sucker starts up so easily, I’m constantly turning it on and off. So glad I spent a little more. Please try the C before the X. I was like everyone else and thought it was a gimmick. Dead wrong I was.

      Interesting that you said that. I always thought that the side start was an incredible idea. Especially considering most of the older customers enjoy talking to you while you're working. Causing you to shut off the machine far more often.

      How has it been holding up? I think the better shoulder and hip straps is a huge difference between these. That allows you to carry the weight a lot easier

    The BR- C for the price difference is well worth it for the extra features for sure, I bought the 800 X model for the weight reduction. Really it's no big deal taking it off to restart it.

    I had the BR800c… great machine and loved everything about it but I sold it the same year and bought the Echo PB 8010. Way more power on the Echo but nowhere near as nice as the Stihl. I chose the power of the Echo because it moves snow waaay better than the Stihl’s. If Echo could bring a side-pull, a better harness and a hose/handle setup like the Stihl’s… it would be perfect!

      you could probably MacGyver the 800s telescoping tube onto the 8010 or 9010 with some T-Rex black duct tape if you tried. I just take the middle tube off my 9010 and run the stubby end nozzle by itself.

    • @beri232
      @beri232 Рік тому +1

      @@COC785 I actually liked the Stihl's tube setup better.... it just didn't do as good a job at moving snow as the Echo. The Stihl was good for the first 1-2 tanks of fuel and than it seemed as though it lost power. The Echo has been very consistent.

    For around $10 you can add the chest strap to the X model. If you have to re-start your BP that often, you need to change your business model. Stihl reps will tell you that the X version's tube is more efficient.

    I rock the Sternum Strap! C model has a very tall ↕️ backplate, so unless you have a Large to XL torso it’s NOT comfortable. I found that the X is more comfortable on the backside, fits like the BR 700.

    The C version is hassle to start, half the time it does not even start for me and when it does it takes a good 10-15 pulls and this is when it is on the ground. It is almost impossible to start it while it is on your back because you are not able to pull the cord out far enough. Have a BR 600 that is several years old and it starts on the first or second pull every single time.

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 роки тому +1

      I’m sorry it’s not working for you. Length of pull can be critical. Try doing a couple small pulls to “wind up” the starter and then do a full pull. If that doesn’t work you can put the standard starter on yours for about $60.

    3:09. This video gets the hip belt purpose backward. The primary purpose for a backpack hip belt is to transfer weight from shoulders/back to your hips. The secondary purpose is for load stability. Both are important, but the C-E version is over 25 lbs, so really necessitates a better load-bearing system ... and that's why the hip belt is there. #1 purpose is weight distribution.
    As of early 2024, the sternum strap can be added to any blower for $12 and the hip belt is $49 for the 800 style and $36 for 600 and below. So, the extra $50 premium for the C-E version is more than covered by the chest strap and hip belt alone.
