I love the waist belt! It automatically transfers the weight of the blower from ny shoulders to my hips. I can easily slip my hands between the shoulder straps and my sholders once my waist belt is buckled. Anyone watching this should not underestimate the value and comfort of the waist belt! In addition, the side start is not just a "side start" it is also an easy start. That means that you are winding a spring by pulling the cord. When that spring reaches the proper torque, it releases its stored energy by spinning the engine over I have seen people yanking their arms widely pulling on the cord and this IS NOT necessary. Short, easy pulls are all that are required to wind the internal spring which then starts the blower
Thanks for the review. I plan to pick one up this week. I'm a 65 year old who plans to do some of my neighbor's yards. So, I'll be walking the neighborhood with this thing on my back. I'll never have to put it down to start it, which is just wonderful. Also, some of the same points Johnny made about the benefits of the side starter are a game changer for me. My one issue with this review is with the 'hip-belt'. That's what it's called. If you have ever done some long distance hiking, you are well aware of the benefits of being able to distribute some of the weight of a backpack onto your hips, which is far more comfortable than carrying it all on your shoulders. Because of the added weight of a more powerful blower, it was a genius move to include a hip-belt. If you use that hip-belt you'll be able to carry this thing all day long with little to no fatigue. And then do it again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...
Thank you for your review it was very helpful, after watching your review I feel real comfortable that I made the right decision picking this blow, I actually just picked up the blower March 19th 2022 I only weigh about 140 lb but I'm a pretty strong guy hopefully I can handle it just for residential use only.
It's the best blower I've ever used. My rotator cuff is so shot I don't use the side start, but the nozzle feature is why I didn't get the -X- . I have the Echo, just don't like it. All the reasons you sited are absolutely true, for me. Also, if you ever get a chance to cut with an Altoz XP or XC wheeled mower, I believe for me, in North West, CT - Litchfield County, best quality of cut on any deck I've ever used. Thanks for all you do. I've been at this 25 years, this is the most informative channel in or about the lawn care industry.
Hi Johnny I'm very interested in the Stihl br-800c. I am very surprised that stihl has not released this blower yet in the UK and Ireland. Great review.
Good vid. I had been on the fence for a while about getting one of these, currently have a 700 but I don’t use it every day, heavily during spring / fall.
You make Good videos , you get to the point ! I. Have a echo but it needs a tune up and I have to wait a mouth so a second backpack I'll be getting in the morning. I see now it's going to be a this one. I work alone and I'm finding out I need two of everything. Thanks for you video
My side starter come in handy when I go to blow a roof off. Dont have to climb the ladder with it on and also dont have crank and put on while on roof.
Nice vid! I love the br 800c it is a little heavier but I do have to say the side start is the seller for me! I have multiple clients walk up to me all the time and that is when they come out because the heat big machines off and want to get us before we leave. I also like that when I’m walking around blowing I can stop, record and start back up really quick. Rachel has even said she hope they put it on the 600.
BR 800 comfortable powerful reliable pull side pull slow for compression with your arm tight and close to your body. Leaves grass snow it’s the best. Great review I’m subscribing 👍
Just bought my new 800 today. I thought it would far overpower my 2 year old BR450c but it's about the same.. I take it mine could use a carb adjustment but I need a specialist tool for this one. Have ordered and will update
Had mine for 2 years. It quit running after a few minutes of run time. Took it to my dealership “under warranty “. They told me it needed a new Carburetor, but Stihl doesn’t cover carburetors under warranty so the repair was half the cost of a new unit with labor. Never buying a Stihl product again. I would fix it myself but Stihl only sells parts to their dealers. Got an after market unit but it failed out of the box. vacuum tested it and it was clearly not right. The recoil starter also stopped working and that was another huge expense. I knew exactly how the pull start on this worked and didn’t abuse it but it still failed. Also always used ethanol free gas in this and all of my equipment. No excuses… Stihl doesn’t make a reliable product and they don’t stand behind it.
I might need to take mine in. The pull is always inconsistent. No resistance some times, other times I break my wrist pulling it and it feels locked up. 5 or 10 pulls to get started, and always from the ground because it hurts my bum shoulder to try and start it cold on my back. Hot restarts are also a pain. Good video as always.
could you expand on that " clip" you had replaced? Having the same problem, pull and pull and pull, sometimes feels like its turning engine over, sometimes not. Very unpredictable and takes forever to get going. I came here looking for starting tips, nice to know I'm not the only one having problems with it.
Is this a 2 stroke or a 4 mix where valves will need to be adjusted ? Thanks !!! Also do you have an opinion of which brand has the best overall quality construction / for Longevity ?
Nearly bought one but went for the Husqvarna 580 bts and am very pleased with it. Was asking the tree surgeons last week about their's and they said don't waist your money, said it's powerful but the build quality was shit!
The echo 8010 and9010 are great blowers. I have br800 c and I like better yes the echo are stronger but. I notice with wet leaves. Stuck to the ground the br800 does better but I'm happy with my br 800 c
Part of the reason the stihl is heavy is because its a "4 stroke" The main issue with this and the 700 is the PLASTIC engine parts like the cam lobes and the cam gear which is a disgrace on a "commercial" engine
Review after 12 months. List of parts that have failed. Now non running, parts to much and not available, out of warranty, now worth nothing. Went and bought a different brand far more reliable. 😂

Best review of the br800 I seen yet.

Just brought one can't wait to use it
Great points! I was about to buy the non side start but just change my mind.
I love mine and the side starter, although i was not too sure about, is brilliant.
I have one and I love it no problems with it what so ever
Thanks Johnny great Vid
Good review! Thanks for sharing
Good tip on real life use of that side starter
A man of great taste and culture I see. Stihl and Milwaukee 😄 nice!!!

Happy's Family I believe they will update this platform in two years to even more power

Thanks my man.
Thanks for the info 👍
Great review. 👍👍
Best review out there.

If you used those waist pads, it distributes the weight a whole lot better. It feels so much lighter with the waist strap
My echo 8010 gave me arm fatigue also, so I removed the middle section of the nozzle and it was a dramatic difference. Now it's super light
B G that’s a great tip thank uou
You
I did that the same on the 9010

Copper Creek Cuts Lawn Care that’s what mine did. It now starts second pull everytime

Jonathan Moor ok pull it out kinda slowly let it rewind everytime then pull it slow but firm let rewind everytime shoulfix issue

What clip are you talking about, what did it affect?
Nearly bought one but went for the Husqvarna 580 bts and am very pleased with it. Was asking the tree surgeons last week about their's and they said don't waist your money, said it's powerful but the build quality was shit!
How does it fair out with pine needles? Great review!
Hmmm. It’s not bad.
@@JohnnyMow Thanks for the reply but I guess when it comes to pine needles they're hard to blow especially if there's a lot.
What about blowing a roof off? In my view, you’re not setting it down on the roof to then start pulling it
Why did you sell the ECHO 8010?
Paul Jamison I think the stihl was a better fit for me.
I’m torn between this one and the echo 8010 !
Brian, check out my comment on Johnny Mow review of the Stihl 800 c. Hope that helps.
Which one did you buy
I went with the Stihl
@@1Brianjohnson. Are you happy with your choice. I'm leaning Stihl right now.
@@peterp.6249 Yes I am ! It’s a beast !
The echo has a higher rpm..
It’s all about advertising for the Rich he helps that’s right and gets richer his smart it’s all about money
Boss
Nothing like that side pull, I don’t care what anyone says

It gets better fuel efficiency than the echo and other big blowers. One day I'll upgrade my Echo and get one.
