  • I put the Stihl BR 800 against the Echo PB 8010 in a quick non conventional test to see the main differences. (Special thanks to Russo Power Equipment for loaning us these two machines and Carlos with JH Lawn Care) Having owned several Husqvarna and Stihl leaf blowers and finally getting the opportunity to try out Echo, there is a noticeable difference in power and better fit for our lawn care division of our company.
    I will be purchasing the Echo PB 8010 for our company soon to help this season with leaf removal.

    Greetings from New Zealand.
    The thing I notice apart from the power (the Echo is way more powerful) is the engine note. The Stihl sounds dreary and slow, where as the Echo has that 2 stroke note like it's ready to get going.

    I got my Stihl BR 800X a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed using it (first Stihl back pack blower). I actually sold my Husky 580 BTS and my Echo 770T to purchase the new BR 800X and so far I'm glad I did.

      Yeah the 800 was a huge step up from the 580 and 770. If you get the chance check out the 80 10 that thing pushes some air

    • @jasonmizuno6117
      @jasonmizuno6117 5 років тому +1

      It has the same power of the 580. I guess the pull start on the side was the deciding factor. The echo 770 were in a lower category (br600 level) so that was a big upgrade I am sure.

      @@jasonmizuno6117 The BR800 has a lot more scouring power when dealing with ( in my case) wet oak leaves. Never ran the BR600 but the 770T I sold 2 weeks ago was a damn good blower for me for over 5 years, still kind of miss it.

    • @jasonmizuno6117

      @@stephenP1979 the higher mph is what gives you that extra moving power. Still not as powerful as my Maruyama 9000 and the new echo is even more powerful. Our average leaf job with our new blowers is 45 min. Having the right blowers makes all the difference. We have the Redmax 7500 and the Maruyama 9000 currently.

    I'm not sure I should have watched the video but, I did like it. A while back I bought my first backpack blower the Sthil BR800C. My decision had a lot to do with having a Sthil dealer in my small town. Also having a Sthil 026 chain saw for a lot of years helped me decide. I used it on a couple of acres of my yard. Before long I'm going to be blowing leaves that have never been cleaned up before. So far I'm satisfied with it.

    I bought a PB-8010 T two weeks ago and all I can say is it is a beast. I tried every way I could to buy the Stihl because that’s what every other piece of secondary lawn equipment I own is. This is actually my first gas powered blower of any flavor, and so far I would not trade it for anything. As I’m writing this, my son just came and got it for a little cleanup project he and the neighbor have going across the street. Now if my new Wright ZK 61 would just show up I’ll be set for this year.

    I just got a new BR800C. Awesome machine. The side start is great and I like that is is much quieter than the Echo too. Hard to go wrong with either. The 800C has a waist strap and it is great, makes a big differance in the comfort. The side start is a game changer, so easy to start on your back, no yanking, just slowly pull and it winds up then cranks.

    • @itshisturf23
      @itshisturf23  5 років тому +1

      I just ran the 800 C on Tuesday. It was definitely a lot quieter and I did like those way straps. I had a little bit of issues with the side pool but once I found the sweet spot it was a little easier. I'll do a video on that next week

    • @boltactionshooter
      @boltactionshooter 5 років тому +2

      @@itshisturf23 The trick is that you don't treat the side pull like a normal pull starter. You do not yank it at all, just slowly pull it and it make take a couple slow pulls to wind it up until it releases and cranks the engine.

    I have the echo 8010 and it is a BEAST! Did my neighbor's yard yesterday
    that was covered in old decaying stuck in the grass leaves that his
    redmax 8500 wouldn't budge and this echo 8010 blew everything right up
    and moved it all onto the driveway. Even raised up and blew 3 grass
    snakes along with the leaves LOL. There's not much that this blower

    Great vid, thanks. I want to say the BR800 is a better unit than the BR700, the 800 has the higher breakout force which makes the BR600 so good, but the 600 lacks the higher CFM. The BR800 gives you slightly higher breakout force of the 600, and the CFM of the 700. I feel the 700 was a dud, the lineup should omit the 700. Stihl needs to design a BR900 with 250 MPH and 1200 CFM, using the throttle handle like a joystick. Move it forward for a tighter pattern, and back to open the tube...like a nozzle of a fighter jet.

    Not a hard decision since the br800 just caught up to Redmax and Maruyama. The echo is much more power. Remember the 800 has the same cfm as the 700 but brought the mph up from 168 to 210. I'm demoing the BR800c next week. No one in the area had one last week and I knew someone would say that about the ice but I assure you that wasn't the case.

    this blower br800 is unfortunately a big disappointment. I expected a lot more power. It is maybe 10 pricent more powerful than the BR700. For me it is quite a disappointment and I am considering selling it

    Creep video I'm in the market for a new blower myself and I can't decide which one to go with red Max echo or Stihl I like the side start on the still because I have a lot of customers that come out and talk but I need something that's really strong that will take care of what we use cuz I can't get a wheel blower and some of my properties I want something that's going to be able to work with My Little Wonder Wheel blower and it looks like the echo might be it thanks a lot

      8010 by far. 800 was too similar to the 700. Still prefer my husqvarna 580s over stihl. Heres a link showing the power
