If I take it to my true value hardware do u think they can fix it for me.
Thankyou for this video! I've watched others and had problems as they had me reeling in the opposite direction you instructed. Their comments were turned off for a reason.
@@TerryN-ps3eh Sorry it took so long to find a good video. I agree there is a lot of useless videos uploaded everyday. I try to stay out of that category.
Thank for this helpful video.
Sorry I gotta say it’s centrifugal force that’s forcing it out not gravity , product of momentum again not gravity. Gravity is not a force.
So glad I found you! I struggled for bout an hour watching other you tubes . Hands down this was the best instructions. Thank you sir
Out Of All The Videos On How To Restring a 2 String Electric Trimmer.. On You Tube that I've Viewed ...Your Video Is The Most Clear- Detailed, Most In Depth Of ALL!!..My Weeds Might Hate Ya!!..But Their Destroyer Doesn't!!...Very Much Appreciated SeidelRanch!!
Awesome, thank you! Good luck taking out those weeds.
I agree Noone else actually explained it, this helped a lot
Totally agree
@@SeidelRancha. 😂😂😂😂😂😅😊
Yore exactly right! This is the most detailed and easy to understand video on restringing I've seen!!
This was probably on of the most helpful videos I've ever watched .... Step by step walked me through it and explained it all simplistically enough to understand.... THANKS!!!
You're welcome! I am glad it helped.
Thank you for your help reminding me. I struggled for 20 minutes before I remembered looking on UA-cam. Lol
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for showing the feed button it allowed me to fix an issue with mine
Glad I could help
Thank you I have watched so many videos on this topic.. and I appreciate it yours more
Glad it was helpful! Thanks.
Boom. Now that’s a well explained video. Thank you my friend for taking the time to do this.
Glad it was helpful!
Very very helpful especially for a female trying to figure it out. Lost the manuel
Glad it was helpful. Thank you.
Thank you! I have been doing it wrong quite some time! LOL
Glad I could help!
Very good explanation. Thank you.. Very, Very good.
You are welcome! Glad you liked it.
@@SeidelRanch Thank you. Took about a half an hour. Everything seems to be working fine.
I am making a guitar stand for my classical guitar..I am an amatuer selftaught wood worker and figure I have pieces of scrap wood here and there. It has to be very stable and looking on the net won't hurt to find a low profile stand about a foot or so high and probably about 10 lbs or so..It's going to be a challenge.
Thank you so much! Your video helped a bunch!!!
Glad it helped!
Great illustrated video but I can honestly say because I have the same machine it the biggest headache POS I’ve ever owned 👍
Haha. I have owned worse, but these corded trimmers are not great.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks.
Wow! How simple was that!
Thank you!))
Glad it was helpful.
Thank you very much good sir.
You are most welcome! Hope it was helpful.
I can use 0.080 line on to my 0.065 trimmer, thanks for you instritions
Great. Each one is a little different but .080 will work much better than .065 if the trimmer can handle it.
Thanks bro u taught us
Glad I could help
Much appreciated 👍🏽
Very welcome. Hope it was helpful.
You are awesome!
Thanks. Glad it was helpful.
A great video. The only question I have is, you said try to avoid manually extending the line with the button. While operating the weed wacker, is there an automatic line extension feature.? Or do I have to stop and raise the weed wacker and push the button and then pull the line to extend?
It should feed every time you stop it then start it again. That is how the feed on it works. With every stop and start, a spring lets a lever move and feed more line.
@@SeidelRanch Thank you.
thanks. good job
Thank you. Glad it helped.
Thank you!!

It's all in the hips baby.
I’m going to try it bcuz I just used my powersmart 8208 weed eater today and it works great but the trimming wire only lasted a few seconds. Any suggestions how to make the string last?
A few seconds? A spool of line should last you a few hours, not seconds. Did the string actually break off inside the head and not feed out? You may need to try and respool the line and see what is inside.
@@SeidelRanch it lasted about just under a minute. One side let me click to pull out more line but the other side was gone. I’m thinking it’s the way I’m holding it bcuz I hit against the fence. Maybe if I turn it to have the wire vertically.
I think I’m going to have to redo the string on the spool. Do u have a video for the dual spool thingabob. I need it done like if I’m a two year old.
@@judy2942 Yeah, it just broke off inside. You have to take the cap off and restring it out. This video should show you how.
4:08 that's what she said! Sorry couldn't help myself.
Hahaha. A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Faster George ! It should have been a 2 min vid :(
Sorry, I do like to talk. You sound like my wife, "just get to the point".
Finally someone who explains every detail well. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
@SeidelRanch I'm 72 yr old woman...husband came demanding I fix weedeater. I have no idea.thanks to you 15 minutes later it was done. That line has a mind of its own..kept getting away till I found those tiny notches. LOL!!! I remember you helped me when I bought it...I was scared to try...never had even seen a weedeater up close. GLAD I SAVED YOUR VIDEO
Thank you...I'm a single grandma ..taking care of my ailing parents and grandbaby...I do everything...now I can do this too!!! THANK YOU !
Glad it was helpful.
This is the best instructional….. please make more DIYs.
Thank you. I will try. Glad it was helpful.
OMG..THANK YOU!!!! im 70yr old woman bought my first weedeater at a yard sale yesterday. No cord..no line. Ive never even seen a weedeater up close before!!! Now i have to go buy cord and line. I was planning on hiring a man to put line in......NOT NOW!! LOL!!!! EVEN I CAN DO THIS. THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME. I took mine apart while watching and yes i put it back together.....off to the hardware store!!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. YOUR DESCRIPTION, YOUR TONE OF VOICE, YOUR SPECIFIC WAY OF SHOWING HOW TO UNDERSTAND AND CONPREHEND THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE MAGNIFICENT TO ME. I AM NOT MECHANICALLY ORIENTED. YOUR VIDEO WAS SUPERB.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
This is the only instructional video on restringing this model weed eater I've found online. Nice quality video and specific instructions without being too long-winded. Thank you!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.
These were the best instructions I have found all day! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
I’m a single mom and I do tons of work on the house myself but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to do this. Thank you so much! Lifesaver! 😊
You are welcome. Glad it was helpful.
LOL - I’m right there with you, and is exactly why I’m watching this video, too.
Correction, your a hot single mom ❤
I'm single and female and evidently my genetic code did not give my brain the ability to figure this out! The diagram in my owner's manual simply doesn't show how the line comes off the spool and into the metal holes. It looked like the 2 notches had some purpose there. good grief.
Wow this is the only video in existence that actually explains this in a way that makes sense and works! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks.
Awesome video for this 66 year old Grandmother that tries to do everything herself! I appreciate your thoroughness for the novices like me.
Glad it was helpful! You still got it.
Dude I've like tied knots in my lines to keep them from spooling out and this is thankfully the first video I've watched to help me understand what I was doing wrong. Thank you for the advice and explanation! THOSE WEEDS SHALL RUE THE DAY I SAW THIS VIDEO!!!
Glad it helped! Take no prisoners!
Thank you so much! I couldn't figure out how to do this, even with looking at the manual! You made it simple and easy to do and my son was able to finish edging the lawn.
Glad it helped! Thank you for the kind words.
Such a great video even 2yrs later
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Another grandmother here to thank you so very much for this clear and thorough video, it is very much appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
😃Thank you! I have never changed the trim line in my weedeater, but I can generally figure things out pretty easily, so I wasn't too worried about it. That all changed today when I finally gave up doing it all wrong and searched UA-cam and found you and this video. You made it so easy to understand. Great video! Back to work now!
Glad I could help.
Thank you for helping me get my weedeater strung.your instructions were very simple.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks!
Thanks alot sir, what a great detailed video on how to restring this kind of trimmer head! This video saved me while on the job 😂 I was using my boss' trimmer and it had a different head, luckily I had my phone and clicked on your UA-cam video. Thank you 🙏
Glad it helped. Thanks.
This is the best video in explaining how to install the spool; thank you!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.
God bless you for this version of restring this model of Homelite
I am glad it helped.
I tried this with another video and it did not work. I was considering buying another weed whacker when I found yours. Very clear. Good job, and thank you.
Glad it was helpful.
That was exactly what I needed. Looks just like mine, but I've been "just winging it" for a few months. I only have to hit weeds every other week so the line has been doing okay but I have to re-adjust or reset the line more than I should. I just set it up how you showed me, feels much more secure and I didn't even know about the button that extended the line! I'm actually a bit excited to try it out in two weeks! Thanks again for the tips/example/lesson.
Glad I could help! Thanks for the feedback. Good Luck!
Thanks so much for explaining so plainly you are a very good teacher! I had no problem following your directions
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much! This was very helpful and well explained in detail. Not once did I ever get fustrated. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Glad it helped! Thank you.
Thank You. I've watched several videos on this and yours was the ONLY ONE that was spot-on. The trick is to wrap the trimmer line the opposite way and it worked. Thanks again
Glad it helped!
@@SeidelRanch Yes! Me too...This was an awesome share.
For the love of God will someone invent a weed wacker that you don't spend 10 minutes weed whacking and 20 minutes farting around the strings
Hahaha. I understand. If you ever get a bigger model trimmer, you might like the PivoTrim head: ua-cam.com/video/JUl1kR8pZ5M/v-deo.html
Thank you so much! This was excellent! You showed it perfectly so I was able to do this myself.
So glad it helped! Thank you.
Clear and concise. Thought I knew it all until now. My problem was having it unraveling when replacing spool in base.
They can be tricky if not done they way they want to be done. Glad it helped.
Thank you. I lost my husband who used to do all this and had no clue how to do this myself. Thanks for showing everything and explaining this on my level.
Sorry to hear that. Glad I could help!
Good video, I bought an electric trimmer yesterday and used up all the line, now I need to reline it, thanks for explaining this, really good.
Glad it helped. Thanks.
Thanks! Very clear and well explained!
Thanks! I try.
Thank You from Bulgaria.
Perfectly explained.
Thank you. You are very welcome.
You made an excellent video, It got me through everything I needed to know. 5 STARS
Glad it was helpful. Thanks!
Great video. Just what we needed. These weed eater spools can be so tricky. Good clean video.
I wanted to make it as simple as I could for that reason. Glad you liked it.
Very helpful. I would not have been able to do this without your explanation.
Thank you!
We got a free whipper snipper recently and I have never used a dual string one before, what a piece of junk that is to load. Thanks for the video.
Awesome, needed a video to the point. Finished my weed eating thanks to you!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks.
Thank you so much…..you’re a big help!….finally got it!
Glad it helped!
THANK YOU! the instruction booklet that came with my craftsman trimmer has a line drawing of the spool and it's impossible to decipher! Why is it so hard to find a picture or a video of someone putting the spool into the trimmer? all the other videos only show how to wind and empty spool with new line. geez. I actually thought the line was supposed to stay in the notches! LOL!
Glad it helped.
This video provided me with clear step by step instructions for adding new string to a two string grass trimmer. My thanks....now outside, and ready to trim the weeds and grass!
Glad it helped! Thanks.
Thank you! Thank you for making this simple and clear. I’ve never had to restring one and it was simple after watching this. Prior to this I was almost in tears with frustration lol the booklet that came with it made zero sense because it didn’t even show the same pictures as the dang weed eater lol .
So glad it was helpful. The first video I did for trimmers was to also show my wife who was SO frustrated with it. I get it.
I do them both at the same time, just by putting my thumb in the middle of the head on that middle plastic ridge, and sliding it along while you spin the thread on. Works fine for me, but maybe it's just a practice thing. I've only respooled twice, so it seems to be a low threshold on skill to do it.
That does make it spool faster. I tried to show my wife how to do that but it was just a mess so I figured it would be better to just do one at a time. Thanks for the feedback.
Perfect video. One of my lines ran out and the other didn’t. So i cut it in half and respooled. The replacement cartridges are so expensive at HD. I’m just going to respool from now on. 👍
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this! Of all the videos on this subject, yours is the best.
I wish these awful companies would include actual instructions with their equipment. My new GreenWorks 21212 came with incorrectly wound string out of the box.
Glad it was helpful. I do wonder on those manuals. Many are lacking any good information.
It's very helpful for me. It's work now. I was suffering so much before I see that video. Thank you so much. 😊
Glad it helped.
So many videos explained it wrong! Thank you so much for explaining the process throughly
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
Awesome tutorial on how to string load the trimmer, I have Toro 51480, and your trimmer is identical to mine but I have had trouble using it next time I will certainly use your method to load the spools.
Glad it helped. Thanks.
Excellent video. Saw many and this video was Step by step very well define of what to do and how to do it. Thank you
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Great video and I followed it exactly but the trimmer keeps spitting out cord as it's going and goes through the cord really quickly. His there anyway to stop this?
Only things I can think of is either the line was wrapped backwards or the spring button mechanism has broken and does not hold the line in. Hope that helps.
This is the best video for trimmer string replacement. Very easy to understand. Keep doing good work. Thank you very much Sir. GBU.
Thank you. Glad it helped.
Trust me. Do not buy this type of weed wacker. I had one and was so disgusted that I threw it in my Fire Pit.
Then I went out and got a Universal Speed Feed Shindawa and was Happy.
I have not thrown any in a fire pit, but I understand. This one was a corded electric one and has been since retired. So many great options now on electric trimmers that there is no need for a cord. Glad you found one that you like.
Your explanation was very good. Thank you! I have thought for awhile now that my unit was not working. I did not know about the extension button. I have been basically installing it fine but literally would take off the spool and pull out line to extend it. I have a small area to do so that made that task bearable but tomorrow I will test this out and don't see why it wouldn't work just fine now as the extension button works.
Well I am very happy this helped. It would drive me crazy if that button was not there. The thin line tends to break off on mine when I trim around the pool where the rocks and edging is sharp. Hope that makes it much easier for you.
Most excellent instructional video, concise yet has all the info you need to get the job done! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Excellent instructions!!! I am an OCD, nit-picky type when it comes to written or verbal instructions, and you got an AAA+. This was so helpful...Thank you!
Thank you. I am glad it was helpful!
Thank you man!!!

Thank you. Glad it helped!
Sir, yours is the best presentation for this type of edge trimmer line reloading bar none. Thank you for you candor and the correct uncluttered way of your demeanor. It was great.
You're absolutely right.. I watched 4 videos before this one. All the guys were full of personality, but short on details.. This helped alot..

Thanks, it had been so long since I used my trimmer I forgot how to respool the line and I couldn't find the manual.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks!
I appreciate your teaching thank you because I just got my trimmer but if I never string any trimmer before thanks again 👍
Thanks. Glad it was helpful.
Thank you for doing this! I would have spent hours trying to figure this out on my own!
Glad I could help!
Thank you for the video. I don't have the same one but it really helped me. This is my first time using one.
Glad it helped
This was the best explanation I've seen. Do you always wrap the strings in the direction of the arrows?
You wrap the string the opposite direction of the slot you stick the string in to keep it held in place.
Easy and clear video, I appreciate the way you explained it. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much. This is my light bulb moment. And yes you were very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
I was wanting to put a bumper replacement however cannot figure out how to take the head off please help if you can
I don't think these have replicable heads. You may be able to find an adapter on Amazon. I found some for the Ryobi ones.
I want to say clearly! This is the best video I’ve found explaining this process. THANKYOU very much. 🙏🏽🗣
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Why is my line not releasing as im trimming. It cuts off the line and not releasing it when I still have plenty of line left in the spool?
The line releases a little bit each time you stop and start the trimmer. If you trim a long time without stopping the trimmer in between it will not release more line. Basically it assumes you will stop and start it every minute or so.
Thank you for this!! My strimmer is the bain of my life haha so im hoping this makes it easier when i try tomorrow!
Hope it helps. You can do it.
