"IS THAT HOUSE??" My favorite reaction from you so far! ❤❤
Yes, it is House, love him and that show
LOL, FUNNY
Oh Yes
A fantastic British comedian with a very long and storied career. Look up some of his past acting work on Black Adder, Jeeves and Wooster, and A Bit of Frye and Laurie among many others...
loved him on the young ones lol
He made a great Percy 😁
@holcroft1969 soupy twist
Oh my goodness, one of the greatest gifts my husband ever gave me was turning me on the Black Adder! It is one of the best shows I've ever watched (although, I refuse to watch season 1 -- LOL).
Have you read his novel, The Gun Seller? Great fun, very well-written spoof of James Bond "spy/thriller" with a touch of the inimitable Peter Seller's bumbling Clouseau. Very talented man and as a lady, very easy on the eyes! Namaste, Z.
Hugh Laurie is extremely talented. Sings, plays the piano, great comedy, great drama.
Yes but apart from being a great raconteur and wit, a superb and varied Comedian, a great Musician,Pianist supreme and amazing Actor who many thought was American by his Dr.House portrayal and marvellously dramatic actor what else could he do ?
@@Isleofskye He is also quite proficient on guitar as well.
......and he is an all-round good egg....The Best Of British :)
@@Isleofskye he was nearly an Olympic rower
If you want to hear more Laurie singing blues listen to anything on his 2011 album 'Let Them Talk.'
Hugh Laurie an actor, out here making Real music. While "musicians" making noise.
Its no news that Bertie Wooster knows how to play the piano.
I love Bertie Wooster singing "Minnie the Moocher." :)
Yippey. I'm not the only one that likes that. What about a bit of Laurie and Frye?
Cindy Navarro I love Bertie’s version of 47 Ginger Headed Sailors and the Springsteen parody from Fry & Laurie.

Modern renaissance man: looks at camera suspiciously
Me: yes, it’s exactly who you think it is..
10 seconds later “IS THAT HOUSE?!?”
Stewart little dad
Yep the one and only House, even in the show he plays the piano. He is a very accomplished actor, musician and he is a comedian as well. Love the song as well❤️❤️
So glad you enjoyed this.. Hugh loves New Orleans blues music as you can tell. He has released two albums, both well worth listening to. Keep on trucking man love your reactions.
Laurie is pronounced Lorry, don't mean to be pedantic but Scotsmen will be quivering in their kilts :) .
Hugh Lorry? Isn't that a Semi?
There’s an episode of Great Performances” on PBS. Season 27 Episode 2 I think. Titled “Hugh Laurie: Let Them Talk”. It is amazing. He is an author also
It's a deviation of the expression for a tall man. Back in those days the Robert E Lee river boat had 2 huge smoke stacks and tall strong men were said to look like the Stack on the Robert E Lee....which was shortened to Stack of Lee .
It was sang in a away to sound like Stagger Lee or Stacker Lee. But the orgins go back to the Robert E Lee river boat that was built in 1866 .
Thank you.
Very interesting information. Thanks for that.
Hugh Laurie is an amazing talent, a brutish comedian, musician, House, and a champion athlete, a British renaissance man
Have to say I was as shocked as you were!!! Big House fan here! ❤️🎵
You know he plays the piano, you see it all the time on house! Steve Martin does too LOL
Hugh Laurie made it onto the American scene this Century but, he has been a British actor and Entertainer for decades. You know the term "home Jeeves"? That's from his television show Wooster and Jeeves.
My 87 year old mother still dances to this everytime she hears it. They play it for her at the Senior fish frys... Love it
WOW, Imma trippin now. I knew there was a deeper reason to why I loved this man's acting so much. He multi talented sexy self.
Thanks for this, MRM. I'm just as shocked add you.
✌️❤️
The version of this song that I grew up listening to was by Lloyd Price. His performance style was totally different to this version. It was a hit, as was his recording of "Personality." Oh, and are you ever going to get around to Stevie Wonder's performance of his hit "Superstition" on Sesame Street? It's amazing! I'm a big Stevie Wonder fan. :)
Oh man, this was really Awesome! Hugh (Laura)Laurie. Love House too and I was shocked that he could sing. Great song as well. I will be listening to this again!
Hugh: House, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Blackadder 3 and 4
Jeeves and Wooster. Some of his best.
Just love your reactions, and he is smokin hot playing and singing!
He was also in a comedy duo with Stephen Fry. They would do musical skits both are REALLY INTELLIGENT.
Gidday, If you think this is different, he was in a TV series in England called "Blackadder", watch an episode and have your mind blown. Select an episode set in the First World War. Hugh plays many instruments, and is a concert pianist. What do they call that? Oh yes, a renaissance man.
He may also be surprised to see Mister Bean doling out withering insults🤔
Hugie Lorie is smooth ❤!! Great pianist and singer as well as great actor. P.S. He played the piano on house a few times....wonderful!!!
Guitarist too
I knew Hugh played piano but my main my introduction to him was through "Jeeves and Wooster" from the BBC. Hugh was perfect as Wooster. I never watched "House".
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Stagger Lee! You won't regret it.
I came to the comments to see if someone else recommended it before I did so.
I recognized that New Orleans sound when he began singing, especially the T-Na Na or Chee-Na Na toward the end.
Love your show!! God Bless YOU and your family 🙂.
I never heard him sing that, and never heard that version, but I did hear him play when he played 'Bertie Wooster' on Wooster and Jeeves. Btw, I learned from a documentary on the Monkees that all actoprs need a backup - singing, dancing, whatever.
Thank you for giving the history behind the song!! Hugh is awesome, and there are lots of versions of this song (Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley come to mind too) - thanks all of the rest of the people who commented about other artists I had no idea about doing this song also!!
Oh man Hugh Laurie is the Bomb! He is a great actor, comedian, and musician!
Hugh is one of my favorite actors!!! I have always adored the show house! When I saw who this was I was hoping that you had watched house and would have this reaction! It made me happy that you did
This was SO much fun to watch! I knew Hugh Laurie was into music but I have never heard this. Awesome to see it with you! Hugh is a very talented and has been famous in the UK for year before HOUSE. ( Also, one of my celebrity crushes😉) Thank you for sharing this one!
Famous for years, that is..😉
YES!!!... Hugh Laurie from HOUSE. He was always playing different instruments on House. He is one Fine Musician. Loved this and loved your reaction when you realized who it was.
What?! What a voice! I had absolutely no idea he could even sing let alone that great. WOW
Oh YES that's House!!! That was my reaction when my husband sent me a video with him singing!!!
Yes, Hugh loves his music. Comes before acting. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 your reaction was so dang funny
Nick Cave (Aussie singer/songwriter) does a song called Stagger Lee :) You will not forget it if you listen to it.
Nice rendition! Enjoyed that!
Hugh Laurie LOVES this kind of music and he is very talented. I always wonder how he can hide his British accent.
Hugh Laurie (pronounced Lar-E) took piano lessons from the age of six and also plays the guitar, drums, harmonica, and sax.
Wow that was a suprise to me too.
Boy he is multi talented. ..loved it...
Late but he's actually a multi instrumentalist and a concert pianist. Who'd a thunk it, huh?
And a known piece of shit
Brilliant Comedian,as well...
Yes I think he deserves more credit for his acting . He did that entire show house with an American accent for years and he did a great job in the movie Street Kings
I'm as shocked as you! Amazing talent
I believe he started out as half of a comedy duet in a show show called A Bit of Frye and Laurie
"but but....he's REALLY GOOD"
lol, yeah dude,he's good.he acts for the money,he plays for the pleasure,a great lover of the blues and a collector i believe.
Who would’ve thought? Awesome video. God Bless
My favorite tv show too! I cried when they quit! I still watch it all the time!! I'm a nurse so you van imagine how much I loved the show! He plays piano...guitar...sings...acts...Hugh is just awesome! The thing is he is British! I live in Chicago too!
Hugh has had a band for years. He's multi-talented.
For his acting that includes his music you should try A Little Fry and Laurie, or Jeeves and Wooster. He's fantastic in both British comedy series. You'll also here his real accent.
Not to mention Black Adder !!!!!!!
Yep, Hugh Laurie (House), was a singer and comedian before he became an actor.
Yes, that's House. Thanks to Hugh Laurie House, MD so far is the only TV show where I loved the obligatory musical episode. Laurie just is that good. He has made a lot of good music, listening through his discography is absolutely worth wile.
when I was a little kid in the mid eighties my grandpa's band used to play this song he was a drummer. 💚👊 awesome!
Outstanding!
Hugh Laurie is another modern renaissance man.
All the instrumentals on House was played by him. He knows like 6 instruments.
Smile...it's contagious!
He was approached to make this album after he was seen playing on House! He now has a parallel music career. We british knew he played as he has played in many of his shows. He is English you know! He has played mainly comedic roles over the years.when he read for the part of House they didn’t realise at first he was English!
Damn I cant remember who is backing singer is ,think it’s ruby turner.he also does a great duet with Tom Jones
He's gooooood isn't he? Doubly surprising if you'd only ever known him as Stephen Fry's sidekick, or Blackadder's supremely dim Prince George.
lovemyrainydays - We used to get the Britcoms in Canada but not much in the US so I'm not surprised.
Fry's sidekick???
Hugh Laurie is a true Renaissance Man.
I never get sick of the look on your face when you realize who he is. Lol
"HOUSE"" was one of my favorite shows. I've seen him perform on different talk shows. He's great!
He is such a Great Piano player!!
Your "delight" is delightful. :D
OMG! My favorite show too!! Did not know! He's great!
Fantastic actor and comedian. Make sure you watch his other films.
FUN FACT: Hugh's father was a real Doctor
Hugh Laurie is a great actor and awesome musician. All the musical scenes you saw on House were real.
Hugh Laurie also rowed in the Boat Race for Cambridge.
Love it!!! Yep, that is House!!
Yes, that is House, MD. Love him much.
An ultra talented performer......comedy,drama actor, ,singer, musician.....a rare allrounder in modern times
My favorite TV show of all time! You're right, the man can bring it! 👍
He's incredible. You should check out Jeeves and Wooster - British humor from another era.
I love the actor, Hugh Laurie, especially in "Jeeves & Wooster." Those shows were fantastic and correct to history. Laurie was actually a good singer and piano player. Yes, that's House. Laurie used to sing the '30s-style music during the "Jeeves & Wooster" series. Those shows are on UA-cam if you want to watch them.
He’s actually English with an English accent. He does American accents really well, He was very well known in comedy well before he ever did House.
BINGO!!! The one and only HOUSE. He is a bad bad musician.
you're talking bollokcs,he wasn't bad at all,he was brilliant.
Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good
@@willywonka7812 oh ok,glad we cleared that up then.bad meaning good, not bad.
got it.
ua-cam.com/video/J45MBPdu_fU/v-deo.html
Love your reaction... I was the same when I found out House was more than House.
Hugh is also one of the great English comedians. Black Adder, go see.
Lol yes that's House M.D.! Being British I was always amazed at his American accent as Dr House for 8 seasons of the show. He's also a multi-instrumentalist and singer. I particularly love his jazz/blues piano 😍
His last name is pronounced Lori. He is best known as a comedian. And I was shocked to find out that Jamie Fox AND James Cordin could sing. a lot of the english musicians love the new orleans and chicago blues, for instance like eric clapton, the beatles, eric burton, rolling stones ect
If you remember house liked the blues, always playen it
your reaction to "Dr. House" singing is priceless! hahahahaha
Yeah he's got a lot of good songs, he can dance too. Triple threat.
Ah my sweet House! If you wanna listen to singing actors please please please listen to Tom Hiddleston singing Hank Williams Why Don't You Love Me Like You Used to Do
I love that you like all kinds of music. I love all music, some of us old people like rap
well not all. I had teenagers.I've took gangs of kids to concerts
A true talent
He was a comedic actor in the UK. Had a role in the Black Adder series. Also plays guitars.
A Bit Of Fry and Laurie and Jeeves and Wooster too, my friend....
Them sweet ol' blues.
To any who will seek out other covers of this old tune, I would like to recommend the song as done by Taj Mahal.
Truly enjoyed this! Who knew?!?! LOL 🤣🤣🤣🎤🎤🎤💕💕💕😊😊😊
That was crazy!
Eddie Hollman and Hey there lonely girl a legendary and unforgettable voice . You won't be disappointed.
And he’s British.
Hugh Laurie (pronounced Lori) did a couple albums a few years ago. I remember seeing him performing a song or two after he was interviewed on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
I am reminded it is a funny small world we live in when I see this man. My nephew played Dr. House during a scene when House was dying and he had a vision of himself as a child.
Hugh Laurie mastered a middle America accent, why is it strange that he could sing and play black blues. multi talented artists do what they do.
Oh man I can’t believe you’re playing this song, I remember this song -it was a big deal, but the version I remember was a little different, the tempo is faster, more Rock n Roll then this jazzy bluesy version. This is nice, easier to sing.
Had the same reaction a few years ago when i ran into his "unchain my heart"
