    Wow great video, I made it out this morning but got spooked when the river was suddenly up to my waist. I was over by Khahanie park and was watching for the sirens and light but I don't think they came on until after the dam opened up. I'll have to make it out sometime again this week and probably try spots that are a little safer.

    Nice catch haha! Just have a quick question. What is the best time of a day to fish jack? I didn’t get any bites other than first light…

      you're right, that usually is the best time. Otherwise if your are fishing the lower river fish they come in with the rising tide.

    When is the next run? Do spinners and crankbaits (replaced to one inline hook) work for salmon too?

    • @bugpumper
      @bugpumper  2 роки тому

      Hi Kavish, they start trickling in again soon. I usually take my first trips in May. Spinners work but not as well as the fly does.

      Hi! Go uphill on Taylor way and turn right on Keith rd, go to the end where you can park under the highway Bridge. there's a trail down right there.

    How deep should I be fishing at that spot from float to hook ?

    • @bugpumper
      @bugpumper  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Oliver! Depending on the water height at the time it's usually 31/2 to 4 feet. You want to suspend your weights and bait just off the bottom.

      Why is it so dangerous? Does the water level change quickly? Like within seconds type of thing? I'm curious if you don't go in at all or you're only in up to your ankles how that can become dangerous?
