      Brunswick is more difficult than Harvey, with a crazy razor ridge. I've summited both.
      Terrible incident for the Asian group who lost their lives on Harvey when the snow at the top gave way. Only one survivor to relay the story.

    Hey, which peak has the better views do you think?
    I've done Brunswick a few times but never Harvey. Going to take my brother this weekend and was thinking of doing Harvey to change it up but I don't want to cheat my brother out of the best view/experience!

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 роки тому +1

      That’s debatable. Brunswick gives you a better view to the North of Brunswick Lake, but Harvey gives a closer look at the Lions and of Brunswick itself. I think Harvey is better ‘bang for buck’ and tends to be less busy. I also really like the approach along the ridge on Harvey and it’s easiest for a newer hiker. Brunswick is just more fun if you’re looking for a bit of a scramble!

    I'm planning to do this hike in mid July. Is the last 400-500m of the trail hard?

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  11 місяців тому +1

      I suppose it’s relative, but I would consider this to be a fairly advanced hike given the exposure on the ridge, not to mention how steep the trail is over all. If in doubt, you could always stop below the summit at any point you’re most comfortable. The views don’t exactly change much from the start of the ridge to the end.

    • @tankhistoryfordummies
      @tankhistoryfordummies 9 місяців тому +2

      @@JeffPelletier Did Brunswick July 28th and got to the true summit. Took quite long though, about 9 hours round trip, worth the hike, best views I've ever seen. I might do Harvey soon. Did The Lions on July 18th.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  9 місяців тому +1
