1:05 To add to this mystery, the scene immediately after the fade out seems to be from the ghost girl's point-of-view, as she hops off the chair and slowly walks towards the trainers
@@Archviste_ thats actually a good theory, maybe she is no ghost girl but just a little trick the Pokémon developers used to not need to program a camera for that scene, instead you just spawn an npc and put the view in first person
Clearly you don't fully understand the Indoctrination Theory. There was a great documentary done on it by CleverNoob but his channel has since been deleted. Thankfully however, someone has reuploaded his videos. Trust me, watch them with a open mind and they'll make so much sense, that you'll truly question if it's just a "theory". Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/BSE0osxQvA8/v-deo.html Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/ql1SHjAzjjc/v-deo.html Part 3 (concerning Extended Cut DLC): ua-cam.com/video/ql1SHjAzjjc/v-deo.html
Im a firm beliver in the theory in which if you choosed the red option then you beat the indoctrination and get the true good ending and if you choose either the blue or green then blue you've been fully indoctrinated or green which is basically you got sike niggud by the reaper's and helped them achieve what they set out to do by forcing symbiosis between machine and flesh
The truth of the matter is that the indoctrination "theroy" Is a sad pathetic attempt by Reddit users and some desperate fans to be like "no guys, the ending ISN'T ruined, see? It's all in sheperd's head guys haha please PLEASE SAY ITS REAL" when in actuality the truth of the matter is that EA rushed bioware to finish ME3, and instead of trying to make a decent ending with what little time they had left, they half assed it and made what is single handily probably one of, if not the worst, video game endings of all time. The fact that there are people who STILL can't accept that the indoctrination conspiracy is bullshit in 2019 is a testament to how bad that ending was. Fans are literally willing to accept an obviously bullshit conspiracy theory over the ACTUAL ending, that is honestly just really sad.
There's quite the large number of Japanese legends involving female spirits in particular. So honestly it's not weird at all that they should seem to appear often in Pokemon games.
also she's a ghost trainer who has connections to mount pyre, a cemetary where ghosts are found, a ghost hanging out with the ghost connected lady isn't that weird
I think it's more likely that an artist deliberately used citadel textures because the weapon was made on/out of/to attach to the citadel. Those trees look like something you would find in the Tower or Presidium.
@@GiftedContractor I don't support the "it's a dream" idea but I thought the trees looked more like what you find at the very end of the game where they are talking about what happened like it was all a story.
The tree reflections are just one part of a extensive theory that, if thought about with a open mind, seriously questions whether the ending was legitimate.
The woman in red in DMC4SE's Vergil mode intro mystery was solved, ages ago. She is suppose to be Nero's mom. Basically it it's mentioned that Vergil slept with one of the cultists, in one of the light novels. Thus he sired a son with her, Nero. The implication of the woman in red turning her head is is that she recognized Vergil, even though he was disguised, because they had a relationship at one point. It's meant as a subtle nod to that story point.
The woman in the red dress in DMC4:SE was a hint that she liked Vergil. So in DMC5 when we learned(confirmed) that Vergil was Nero's father we, the gamers, would think about this scene
Tbh, Nero being Vergil's son was pretty obvious in DMC4: having similar voice lines to Vergil (Like "Scum!" and "Die!"), one of his alt colors is Vergil's, and he straight up has summon swords like him too
I've never played the game and I'm pretty low on the totem pole of understanding how games work.. but I wonder if maybe that cube has something to do with speedrunning specifically since you pointed out it's speedracer cosplay? I think somebody should do some more speedruns there to find out. Maybe one has to hit a certain amount of time in a certain spot in the level or something.
MyName IsNotHere Has nothing to do with how fast the game was played. He just so happened to activate the triggers that spawned the cube. Can be done even playing really slowly.
@@mynameisnothere9465While it's true that games often do have triggers which are based around things happening at specific times, it's extremely unlikely that that box was one of them
Hey, so first off I live in Phoenix, Arizona and as soon as I saw the coordinates from 'Fez' I had to look it up. I looked it up and turns out its a part of the Air Force, luckily I have a friend in the Air Force and he says that the triangle was an old satellite airfield for the Air Force in around the 1940's! Love the videos man!
The Assassin's Creed guy is probably a model that is supposed to appear far away and will then be replaced with a better version once you get closer. This one is obviously bugged.
I think that is is almost same as with ME3 - since they used static images for reflections (for better performance). I think that this reflection was made before final version of that map and nobody remake it after :) ... just a bug
@@petrrieger2680 you're right and it's apparent in many games with cities; reflections will show the wrong buildings bc they're not actual reflections or baked, just the same image used by other shiny objects! Def think they're reaching with that me3 Easter egg lol
also the very next scene after the one-frame apparition has the camera right in the place where the little girl would be at, and then it moves towards Phoebe and the player in the motion the girl would make if she got up and walked to where she appears at the following scene
I heard that the ghost girl was the real trainer. I would imagine she had some power like Sabrina from gen 1. She projects the confident Pheobe to take on the task of interacting with others. Also on a different note, there was a write up on all ghost girl/haunted stuff so far, and it contains a LOT of information. There is like a sub-plot of the ghost girl throughout the series worth looking into. I can't remember exactly but there was a mansion with a butler, the girl was the daughter of the lord there and died, she shows up in nearly every game, but we also see the butler in one game. I can't remember properly, but I want to say the girl died as a result of a pokemon she was close with.
Fun fact about the Ruby and Sapphire ghost: after it shows up on the chair the camera immediately cuts to the point of view someone sitting on the chair would have.
That’s pretty interesting. Is it possible they used this girl character as a camera reference point? They load her in 1 frame before needed and then cut to her perspective? I don’t know how camera works in video games but if it needs a reference or focus point this might explain why she’s there
@@NeatChill some games would work like that, but I don't think Pokemon does. They've included ghost girls in games for a long time too, so it was probably just a continuation of that trend.
Yeah, there is a theory that one of the dev of the Pokemon games was a big fan of The Ring movie that featured a monochrome ghost girl that came out of a well. Maybe that is it.
@@zambrogue136 I find that one doubtful. Plenty of people speedrun games, and they speedrun the same games constantly; if it was raw speed that made it appear, then they'd be replicating it.

For FEZ, Phil had a friend who was also playing FEZ with the rest of the Community, Often his friend would post Pictures of getting cubes from puzzles that were solved. When the community first discovered the Red Cube, everyone was confused about it because it wasn't part of the game objective. After the second red cube, burned map, and Monolith was found, community was puzzled once more. Phil friend showed a Picture of getting the last red cube without any hints of the code, which made fans believe it was something they shared, later revealed by people who followed Phil stating they worked together. After getting 3rd red cube and finding the location where they form, it formed a logo of a company Kokoromi where Phil and his friend founded and work. The mysterious Triangle is an abandoned Air force Lux base "Luke Aux #4", and there are several of them around Arizona. Weird he put the coordinates in the game.
Usually I'm not a fan of "The whole thing was in the protagonist's head" theories, but if it could retcon Tali's Photoshopped stock image face, I'm all for it.
@@k-leb4671 Tali'zorah from Mass Effect. Her species has a weak immune system, so she spends almost all of the games wearing a face-concealing gas mask. However, ME3 featured a photo of her without her mask..... Which was nothing more than a stock image of a former Miss Universe winner that was given a purplish tint and antenna. This is despite the fact that all of the other species in the Mass Effect universe are highly distinct from humans, and it's kinda hard to believe that a mostly human face is attached to something with three fingers per hand and backwards, animal-like knees.
@@otaking3582 I checked out the photo, and...wow. Yeah, some developer was being lazy as hell. She has such a cool, alien design with the suit on, and that photo is just a slap in the face of that.
Honestly, XCOM did it amazingly, so it does work sometimes. Light/Moderate XCOM EU/W/XCOM 2 spoilers follow to explain what I'm talking about. So, in the beginning of XCOM 2, it's basically revealed that the entirety of XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within, was all something that the "commander" (you, the player) basically dreamt up while imprisoned by the Alien invaders in order for them to use your tactical knowledge and understand of how Humanity would counter an invasion in order to take over the entire planet. Thus explaining why the planet is being ruled by aliens in XCOM 2 despite you defeating the "alien queen" in XCOM: EU and thus stopping the invasion. It also helps explain why the DLC for XCOM EU was pitting you against another Human faction - The Aliens wanted to see how you'd approach warfare with a hostile human faction so they could utilize that knowledge themselves, as part of their take-over was to start utilizing enslaved and augmented humans in order to better control the general populace. As I said, it was actually surprisingly well done and thought out, and doesn't really ruin the previous game, as nothing in that previous game is really "false", it's just not presented as what actually was happening. It's by far my favorite use of the concept.
I think I can explain the assassins creed black flag mystery. Games sometimes use low poly models when players are far enough away from npcs and other objects that they wouldn't possibly be able to notice the fact that they're low poly. They're replaced by proper models when the player gets close enough. My guess is that a glitch caused a low poly npc model to not despawn after the player got close to it. The game then suddenly realised that the player was close to the low poly model and despawned it, which is why it disappeared. Hope this clears up that mystery for you
Maybe he was meant to be a enemy, like when they get suspicious about you in the game they start walking towards you key-word being walking. Maybe he is a low polly version of a guard. But the thing is he (the player) was hiding withnthe dancers so I dunno how he got suspicious about it. Edit: I think he was getting closer because he was distracted by the dancers the player hired. But its unusual to see the guards getting distracted by them from such a far away distance
@@RedOzobBogdo That could be where the NPC was supposed to be going. They usually move in random directions. If you know what to look for, you can find similar events in games like GTA and Saints Row, specifically saints row 2 if you manage to trigger the "Ghost" event.
I usually like turning off all of the lights, staring into the abyss and thinking about how everything will just end up in entropy and disorder. That's what knocks me right out
I usually daydream (the irony) about me living in a post zombie apocalypse. I'm the protagonist and right now the girl I liked 3 years ago needs my help escaping a store filled with raiders. Either that or I'm imagining mechanics of a new game or what would it be like if I were a girl
Maybe at one point there were supposed to be trees there. On the other hand, they look like the trees from the area where that old man tells the kid stories about "The Shepard" many years after the ending.
You should make a series called "Solving Video Game Mysteries" where you do some digging, contact developers, things like that. You did this for the creepy placeholder texture in that racing game, why not turn it into a full-blown series?
Really? That's good, because there's way too many "Top 10 Unsolved Video Game Mysteries" videos on UA-cam, and no "Solving Video Game Mysteries" videos.
DUDE LOOK UP THE SERIES "POPFICTION" THEY LITERALLY DID THIS FOR YEARS UNTIL GAMETRAILERS SHUT DOWN LOLTHEN THEY REINCARNATED AS "GAME SLEUTH" BUT THEY UPLOAD LIKE ONCE A DECADE
Frizzurd You're right, we can't expect them to bother or care. But sometimes they DO care, like when Oddheader found out about the hidden message in a texture of California Speed, from the game texture artist himself. So I think a series like this is worth a try.
As for the woman in the red dress, I think you meant to say Nero's mother, not Vergil's Mother. Eva(Dante and Vergil's Mother) had blonde hair, and is dead, Vergil saw her die which is what made him unlock his Devil Trigger. It's in the books.
if i remember correctly this explained in the anime series of devil may cry also. where at some point in the episode i forgot dante save trish and ask why dante save her, and dante says she look like her mother.
The pokemon one, isn't Phoebe a ghost type trainer? Could be that being this type of trainer to such high level may enable one to sense presence of ghosts of real people too. So, this gives us additional question, did Phoebe have some relative that passed away in very tragic way, which is following her around as some sort of promise to always be beside her?
In the ORAS post-game, you can visit Phoebe on top of Mt. Pyre, where she was implied to have been talking to a dead NPC previously there. EDIT: It's not a little girl (actually an old man if memory serves), but Phoebe definitely can chat with spirits.
Maybe they are just objects to link the camera view, in some engines and development choices, cameras are really just geometry objects placed on the grid, they usually have no shape or form. What could've happened is that during development they associated the camera to some random object for testing, used it and then forgot about it, i personally did that few years ago(2005, 2006), my camera object was set as a cilindrical shape so i cold see where it as pointing more easily. You can see that after the ghost girl appears, the next scene comes exactly from her perspective.
@@nickstarlight That's actually a great explanation. Though I wouldn't put it past GF to make the camera object a ghost girl specifically to reference Phoebe's ghost affinity (and/or to troll us)
Yeah devs generally leave a lots of items, sky boxes, test dummies behind. Can happen that sort of stuff pop in the game, that's still funny even if it break crazy people having silly ideas about the unexplained.
The Mass Effect trees are just an angular map. It's just a graphics trick in games, used when you have a reflective surface rendered and you don't want the game to slow down, while the GC processor calculates ACTUAL reflections. You create a shader algorithm that makes that surface reflect only a special type of a panoramic image: an angular texture. This gives the player an illusion of reflectiveness on stuff. The image for Citadel-oriented reflective surfaces just happens to include the trees from the park elements ON the CItadel station.
But in THIS case, it's slightly different, the Catalysts Lair was originally a Garden of Eden esque "Guardian's Garden", you know, heaven, because bioware's "Artistic Vision" of the genocide committing reapers being somehow the good guys was originally EVEN MORE over the top and stupid than it ended up being.
@@caslaBBalsac Maybe. But it just seems more reasonable to assume that it's a re-used shader/texture. It's a common practice in material and level design.
@@caslaBBalsac So what you're saying is that the texture reflecting on the surface is an angular map generated from the "Guardian's Garden" level specifically. Is that it?
David Kellett yes she was... it's a point brought up in the series. It's literally why Vergil set down the path of embracing his demon heritage. He didn't have the power to save her. So he wanted more power to protect the people he cares about original... eventually this lead to him seeking power for its own sake.
Solibrae exactly. She's blonde, and literally looks like Trish, sans her fashion sense. Trish was created as a doppelgänger of his mom as part of a trap set by Mundus.
The images themselves should exist somewhere. I don't know what file type they would be but searching all the image files should have the images they show. It would probably be very hard to find the specific trigger but we could get a closer look
I remember when I triggered the Ghost Girl in Pokemon X. I knew she'd pop up eventually, I was even kinda looking forward to it, but when you walk out of that elevator and see that she was behind you I swear my heart just about stopped and I nearly dropped the game.
Eh NOT VERGIL's mother, but NERO's mother as the popular theory bud . . . I mean literally she was dressed like one of those devout followers of the order of sword religion (which Nero enlisted as demon hunter/Holy Knight in that organization). Dante & Vergil mother, Eva, already died a long time ago. I think Vergil might be the one that witnessed her death, while Eva hid Dante told him never to come out, no matter what. Trish HAVE the actual similar face with Eva if you're wondering what her face look like.
I think that was simply an easter egg joke left by the dev to get people to talk about triangles. Probably a illuminati confirmed meme he snuk in there for fun. :)
The only weird thing I've ever found in a video game was this odd tower that would show up from time to time in the Hoth Multiplayer map of Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike. It didn't look like a structure that was physically in the game but some kind of visual artifact of some kind because it was just a black line on the horizon. If you moved away from it or got closer to it it would end up winking out and disappearing altogether. The only thing I can think of to explain it is that there is a certain point between 3D objects where they will switch over to 2D in order to still be visually seen by the player (you can observe this easily in multiplayer by having one person in the Slave I spinning while getting closer and further away from the other player). This black line is probably the gamecube having some issues switching some distant terrain from 2D or 3D and that it's just very obvious in the Hoth map because everything is so white and bleached that this artifact stands out more. It freaked me out when I first saw it because it looked like the massive tower from Tales of Symphonia.
I need to get this out there. Some years ago i was playing Rogue Squadron 2 and on one of the levels (second one maybe, the level with a lot of destroyed spaceships) i saw random black car (like the one from supernatural) among spaceship debri. I got distracted and bumped the ship into the car then the game crashed, like the emulator displayed an error message (i remember taking a photo of the message, must be around my GP stuff somewhere).
After the incident, i did some research and found out there was a cheat code that unlocked a car as a ship for you to pilot, but didn't find anything about the car as an actual object in one of the levels. I remember reading that while piloting the car and pausing the game, the camera would slowly approach the car and if it touched the car, the game would crash, but i can't seem to find this info anywhere now. I'm probably gonna try to run the game to see if i can find it again
The low poly model in assassins creed is a background model that generates when youre really far from the area. It still makes it look like there are people walking around, but not put too much strain on the system by rendering full poly and distant npcs. It simply didnt despawn until then
Or maybe they put it just for the Lolz. The game was, basically, created by an American comedian, Dana Gould, so it would not surprise me if these photos, except by the baby one, because his daughters are Chinese, could belong to Mr. Gould himself.
In Dark souls 2 at the Iron Keep in "Eygil's Idol bonfire" if you look through the right eyes hole(without zooming with binoculars). *You can see a white phantom standing on a Cathedral.* This might be tied to the Bell Keepers covenant lore. I found this on the PS3, and several people I met in-game seen it also.
It's Ya Boi Guzma That's what I was guessing, but from the currently available vid that covered unused textures/text/items and online sources there wasn't any formal information on it.
!!! The guy in black walking towards the player in Black Flag, He behaves almost exactly like the shadowman from LSD: dream simulator. Who is also low poly in his game. he walks towards the player and disappears right before him
I think the chances are it's just a "Decoration" npc that was just misplaced/bugged into appearing. There seems to be some weird drawing priority thing going on as well as he always appears "behind" the one NPC he would have walked through right before dissappearing and given how it's low poly, it's obviously a model meant to be viewed from a distance.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" is an idiom that goes back literally several hundred years, and used to be something somewhat commonly said by regular people. The Shining just happened to use the phrase in a memorable way. But that doesn't mean that every time it's been used since, that it's a reference to that movie.
Kirby's Dream Land 3 really was creepy as hell, though. It also marked a surprisingly crucial part in the increasingly complex lore of the series--mostly with the final boss Zero (the creepy eyeball that shoots its own blood at you--kid-friendly!). Really, the lore behind Kirby is getting really fleshed out. And creepy. EDIT: Whatever the hell Batamon is, it pops up again. In the recent game Kirby Star Allies, the character Adeleine can paint one as an attack (along other obscure Kirby enemies)
The Black Flag NPC one is interesting, because it’s mesh was rendered behind other geometry that would have been behind it, and warped with the camera, and it’s geometry was it’s lowest LOD. This tells me the NPC was on a separate render pass, possibly for “far away background NPC” and accidentally spawned with a transformation matrix perhaps accidentally recycled from another possibly failed to spawn NPC closer to the player
So the idea of the giant rat that might be in bloodrayne 2 might be supported by mirrors edge catalyst because on one of the loading screen texts it says if you see a giant rat your playing the wrong game. so.... I don't know.
That mirrors edge one is referencing the first game. In the first mirrors edge there was an Easter egg with the sniper that you could do to make a giant rat appear
hey oddheader i got one for you... In the original assassin's creed, (I play the directors cut edition on pc but this might be on consoles too) there are missions called interrogations, in which you must follow "informants" in back alleys where no-one else is, then beat them up until they give you info on the person you are supposed to assassinate. When the exchange is finished, you kill them. These people share a few specific models, so after you've played through the game and done all the interrogation missions, you will not find these models ANYWHERE else in the game. (unless you skipped some of these missions as you don't have to do all of them.) However, in Masyaf, one of the first missions (you can't skip this one) after you are stripped of your rank at the start of the game involves finding out who opened the town gate for the templars: an informant named Masun. He looks identical to all the other informants from Damascus or Jerusalem. You follow him to a back alley and beat the crap out of him, but instead of killing him straight away, you take him to your master and he is killed then. There is a long cutscene and you are told to leave town and go about your murder-y business, but, as soon as the cutscene finishes, if you go out into the market place near the actual castle entrance and loiter around a corner for about 5 minutes and Masun will just come sauntering around the corner like a regular npc. He has no lines of dialogue, but, strangely, if you hit him or he is dealt absolutely any amount of damage, he dies in one hit. If you follow him around town he doesn't do anything interesting. After seeing this I immediately looked it up on the net, but found NO TRACE of anyone else witnessing this. I did find out, however, that he is storybound to a character named Jamal, who is a templar defect and the one who told Masun to open the gate for them. Jamal is mentioned in dialogue with Masun, and was going to be the subject of an early mission that was ultimately cut from the game, but he is still included as a minor easter egg. He can be found just outside the borders of Masyaf with a group of assassins. If eagle vision is enabled, Jamal will appear in red (enemy) as opposed to blue (friend) If you kill him, it will have little effect on the others. Maybe the Masun ghost has something to do with this? Would love to see you dissect this in part 3! Please investigate! I NEED ANSWERS!
@@alexanderticonuwu7591 I can believe that, just from certain Pokedex entries alone, and then the "fridge horror" when you realize that even if they were to tend to exaggerate, Pokemon are _very_ scary creatures, indeed. And humans treat them better than "animals" because Pokemon are more capable/successful at forcibly standing up for their rights than your average non-human is (there are many Pokemon with whom you can't just say "fuck you" with a gun to.)
In regards to the Mass Effect theory, the reflection at the end is what’s most likely known as a “pre-baked” reflection. It’s a common technique used in games to avoid the computationally expensive task of calculating reflections for the environment your in. Put simply, all reflections in the environment “reflect” the same image (in this case, what is likely a stock asset). The reason not all surfaces look like that is due to a combination of material, lighting, and angle.
The problem with the stock image, though, is that it's of the white tree in the post-credits sequence which has no other significance other than to tell a story from an old man to a kid.
Yeah exactly, the citadel normally has trees in it, it's only that final scene when the reapers hijack it that it's so desolate, you're not meant to see it so no reason to change the textures They're not reflecting in real time haha Years before Ray tracing
The Woman in the Red Dress could be Vergil's wife.... Since a theory said that Nero is Vergil's son so Nero gonna need a mom to be born tho...... (Foreshadowing maybe)
Capcom confirmed long ago in some artbook that Nero is indeed Vergil's son, so yeah, that chick may be Nero's mother, probably not wife though, Vergil doesn't look like the type to get married, specialy to a human.
@Lukemendes That's on of the oddest retcons then. @kimmedavid A quick look on my channel would answer if i played DMC 4. But yeah like Luke said they most likely retconned it. Same goes for that Nero line where he says: From that day forth my arm changed.
For #10, it’s theorized that the ghost girl is the spirit of Phoebe’s dead sister. It’d make sense that spirits would be attracted to her, being that she’s a ghost-type trainer. As for #7, Vergil’s mother, Eve, is dead, so there’d be a 0% chance that woman is her. However, there’s a large chance that it could be Nero’s mother, and that she recognizes Vergil as he’s walking.
Another theory I've heard is that they're actually 2 separate ghost girls, instead of the same one at different locations and are actually the original owners of the 2 Banette that Pheobe has. A lot of the pokedex entries has some variation of the following text "A doll that became a Pokémon over its grudge of being thrown away. It seeks the child who disowned it. ". The theory follows that the Banette found their original owners and now their ghosts hang out nearby their dolls. And notice the one that sits in the chair also happens to be holding a doll. Maybe the one that eventually became a Banette?
In #10 it's kinda obvious that next camera angle appears right in a place where this "ghost" camera model appears. Hence the explanation of this "mystery"

Have you ever been so disappointed by an ending that you had to write an 800 page fan theory to justify a game developers lack luster writing for one of your favorite games? No? Okay. P.S. There are some pretty interesting things in the Medal of Honor games, and Area 51 by Midway.
I would take a guess with the pokemon one and that the little girl is a placeholder for the camera because the angle of the next scene pretty much comes from her.
sokari134 maybe, but the fact that a mysterious ghostlike girl appears in a ghost type gym in a series know for their ghost girls doesn’t feel like a coincidence
It's worth noting that a ghost girl wouldn't just be hanging around Phoebe for no reason, despite her chipper attitude and festive style of dress, Phoebe is a Ghost Type trainer, and has apparently gained to ability to commune with spirits after training with them for so long. Not to mention the fact that Ghost type Pokémon have always been implied to be the ghosts of humans as well as Pokémon, and one of the Pokémon Phoebe uses in ORAS, Dusknoir, is a literal Grim Reaper that transports the souls of the dead to the afterlife.
This is why I like your channel. Most videos like this have every entry as something probably every single human being knows, but yours always seem to suprise me.
Hey @oddheader. My brother and I found a secret on the level Hotel Atlantic for the 007 Tomorrow Never Dies game on the PlayStation 1 when we were kids. We used to play around with the god mode cheat a lot and found that if you ran through the wall near the start of the level and kept running for some time, then eventually you'd find a complete replica of the level but with all of the textures altered, cutscenes and all. I think there were even some unique obstacles that could harm you. I'm surprised I've never seen this secret mentioned anywhere else. 6:48 this thing called as level of detail when a model is far away from the player the model is changing to another less poly model the game maybe glitched out like thats an ubisoft game so
My theory for the ghost girl in Pokemon R/S is that she is quite literally an in game camera- possibly given the model of a little girl to use as a placeholder? What backs this up (and I have seen this mentioned otherwhere) is that a few of the shots seem to be from her perspective- though admittedly not all of them.
Additional note on the spooks surrounding Phoebe after the fade to black with the girl in the chair appearing in the last frame- take note of the position of the camera after the cut. It's slightly below the eye level of the standing characters in frame and is moving slightly... As if it's from the perspective of a person sitting, breathing lightly, and in the location of the chair in the previous scene.

The hidden cheese in Perfect Dark for the N64. I still wonder about it to this day, why there is a slice of cheese hidden in every level, and why it appears to be made of metal if you shoot it. On the Xbox 360 version, you can even unlock a cheese hunter shirt for your avatar, but it still doesn't explain the reason they were there in the original N64 title.
I remember seeing that gex cube because I was stuck on that level as a kid. I also remember confusingly, freaking out because I loved speed racer but "why was it in the middle of this gex board?"

So glad that you have made such a unique video with such a unique list.
It actually isn't weird to talk to dogs in Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon. They have text boxes, and they'll often complain about their owner or something
During gamedev there are usually a number of assets, objects and things created that are later no longer needed or relevant and it's usually faster to move them slightly out of sight instead of deleting them and sometimes programmers hide some random message or inside joke, both are usually overlooked during testing. That's where most 'mysteries' come from. They don't have a deeper meaning, people created them and then probably forgot about them.
The ghost girl in Alpha Sapphire reminded me of Pokemon X and Y's Ghost Girl of Lumios City. The encounter is genuinely creepy for a pokemon game and I had chills when I first saw it. One thing with the ghost girl from Y is that you can find her in alpha sapphire too. Its so strange.
Pretty sure i know what was going on in that first pokemon clip, the little girl model is actually some sort of placeholder for the camera, when the camera changes position, it changes to where she is sitting, i guess she spawns in too early though and you can see her just before the camera switches, makes you wonder if the perspective you play the game from has a little girl floating through the air the whole game
A lot of people are not big fans of licensed games, such as anime games, but I played those a lot when I was a younger. In Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles, at the final level of the game, there's a hallway that is blocked with a sign that has Japanese writing. I can't read Japanese so I wouldn't have known what it said. I thought the hallway would lead to like a secret level you can go in or something, but unfortunately, there's no way to enter that blocked hallway normally. Even in the Japanese version of the game the hallway is still blocked. I feel that people don't talk about that strange hallway much since I guess not much gamers were into licensed anime games at the time.
I think that was the only Naruto game I owned that I hadn’t completed ^^” (I think I had most of the ones that had a PS2 release). That’s really fascinating though! I almost want to dig it out and play it through just to take a look (or if there’s a screen shot of the screen somewhere, I should be able to roughly translate it.)
I’ll have to look them up, haha. I usually prefer the direct approach, but while I’m thinking about it I think I only brought the Ultimate Ninja games to my apartment ^^” (because who needs Mario Kart when you have casual beat-em-ups?) so if I don’t get the chance to watch it before I visit down home again, I’ll probably give it a go playing it lol
The problem with anime based game (not anime styled game) in general is their story, lore, and character restriction. It is hard to implement "visible" character customization without ruining the game. Not to mention, with a pre determined storyline, the game developer would have a harder time matching the story with objectives, quests, levels, npcs, and stuff like that. Thus, most licensed games were mostly restricted to hack 'n slash, fighting game, and maybe strategy
7:15 I think that's supposed to be a reference to "The Thing" more specifically the story it was based off of "Who goes there" where during the part when the Alien is still in the ice one of the researchers claim to see several glowing eyes peering out at them from underneath the block of ice.
1:05 To add to this mystery, the scene immediately after the fade out seems to be from the ghost girl's point-of-view, as she hops off the chair and slowly walks towards the trainers

@@randomlyentertaining8287 It's been proven by the devs that the indoctrination theory is false with the extended cut ending

Either that, or she looked at him because he reminded her of the demon she worships, and that's what led to them conceiving Nero.

It's by far my favorite use of the concept.
can you make a video about strange discoveries EXPLAINED by devs?

Can you?

I think I can explain the assassins creed black flag mystery. Games sometimes use low poly models when players are far enough away from npcs and other objects that they wouldn't possibly be able to notice the fact that they're low poly. They're replaced by proper models when the player gets close enough. My guess is that a glitch caused a low poly npc model to not despawn after the player got close to it. The game then suddenly realised that the player was close to the low poly model and despawned it, which is why it disappeared. Hope this clears up that mystery for you
Or maybe it's a ghost! (Still sarcasm)
But why was the low poly npc walking directly towards the player?

Dante & Vergil mother, Eva, already died a long time ago. I think Vergil might be the one that witnessed her death, while Eva hid Dante told him never to come out, no matter what. Trish HAVE the actual similar face with Eva if you're wondering what her face look like.

That triangle in the desert is an airplane test landing strip for pilot training in case you're curious. I doubt that solves any mysteries though
Triangles = ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED, obviously.
There are many of those and all in Arizona though...
I think that was simply an easter egg joke left by the dev to get people to talk about triangles. Probably a illuminati confirmed meme he snuk in there for fun. :)
Thanks, this is why I scrolled through the comments and it paid off.
Thank you omgosh I wanted to go there sometime to see what I could find
I think you meant to say an ODD tower
@@swagathan5 I needed to leave some pun for Oddheader but yes you're right. 😂
It simply didnt despawn until then
The Gex cubes are probably errors in mesh/texture. I would not be surprised if developers used pictures of themselves or their kids as placeholders
It's unlikely that there would be more than one default texture though.
Or maybe they put it just for the Lolz. The game was, basically, created by an American comedian, Dana Gould, so it would not surprise me if these photos, except by the baby one, because his daughters are Chinese, could belong to Mr. Gould himself.
If it's real it's obviously intentional because the cube has a still of Speed Racer and Trixie engaged in a kiss.
I was hoping I wasn't going crazy. I also saw speed racer. At first i thought it was fred from scooby doo but then I paused it and saw the helmet .
Dark Souls 2 had an abudance of cut content. Might just be another NPC questline we never got to experience and learn from.
It's Ya Boi Guzma
That's what I was guessing, but from the currently available vid that covered unused textures/text/items and online sources there wasn't any formal information on it.

Tetris can somehow be a battle royale game
A good one at that.
To be fair, it's not much different than multiplayer Tetris in the past, particularly incarnations where 4 player matches were allowed.
I’m about to download it on my switch now lol
Isn't that basically Tricky Tower?
It's really good though .
!!! The guy in black walking towards the player in Black Flag, He behaves almost exactly like the shadowman from LSD: dream simulator. Who is also low poly in his game. he walks towards the player and disappears right before him
neat connection, there’s also an npc in the back doing the same thing.
The shadowman from LSD Dream Emulator actually is an important part of the game’s “mechanics” though, he’s not really an easter egg or a glitch.
I think “all work and no play” is a reference to The Shining (1980) which is already a very theorised movie

Kirby does seem to have a dark lore to it secretly
And not everything is what it seems
kirby actually has a dark lore but were viewing it through kirby's eyes which is why everything is so kid friendly
Maybe Batamon are actually "Kirbys" created by negative emotions.
Any videos on this?
I think the "beware of giant rat" message is a refrence to the rodents of unusual size

That's interesting
Pokemon always has strange ghost things... I honestly wonder why?
The devs probably wanted to make a horror game or something.
@@alexanderticonuwu7591 I can believe that, just from certain Pokedex entries alone, and then the "fridge horror" when you realize that even if they were to tend to exaggerate, Pokemon are _very_ scary creatures, indeed. And humans treat them better than "animals" because Pokemon are more capable/successful at forcibly standing up for their rights than your average non-human is (there are many Pokemon with whom you can't just say "fuck you" with a gun to.)
ghost fetish
The Mystical Ninja Easter egg reminds me of the scene in The Shining where Jack writes “All work, no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
it probably is a reference to that
7:47 many shooter games have hidden teddy bears, I think it’s an inside joke by now
In regards to the Mass Effect theory, the reflection at the end is what’s most likely known as a “pre-baked” reflection.
Yeah exactly, the citadel normally has trees in it, it's only that final scene when the reapers hijack it that it's so desolate, you're not meant to see it so no reason to change the textures
They're not reflecting in real time haha
Years before Ray tracing
@@BIGSHOWxbox it's just the normal citadel trees
They're not - there are three different variations for the trees hidden in the gamefiles.

@@Tosmasta00 Yeah, but DMC likes to retcon things, so Vergil being Nero's father is one of those it seems lol.
@@Tosmasta00 it is official confirmed.
Nero born as human? Its mentioned twice in dmc4 that nero carrys spardas blood....
Havent u Played the game?
@@YobaHere But why give the camera a model to begin with?

What kind of sandwich was it?
I would take a guess with the pokemon one and that the little girl is a placeholder for the camera because the angle of the next scene pretty much comes from her.
sokari134 maybe, but the fact that a mysterious ghostlike girl appears in a ghost type gym in a series know for their ghost girls doesn’t feel like a coincidence
@@mewboo3606 also, Phoebe is the only Elite Four leader in Hoenn who's not sitting at her chair in OR/AS
It's worth noting that a ghost girl wouldn't just be hanging around Phoebe for no reason, despite her chipper attitude and festive style of dress, Phoebe is a Ghost Type trainer, and has apparently gained to ability to commune with spirits after training with them for so long.
My PlayStation is broken at the moment, but if I can get it fixed then I'll see if I can get some proof 👍
It was the NA or EU version of the game?
@@zakazany1945 European I believe. It was also a pirated copy, not sure if that has any bearing.

I was at a loss for words when you said Vergil's mother.
I live and breathe for your content.
Additional note on the spooks surrounding Phoebe after the fade to black with the girl in the chair appearing in the last frame-
take note of the position of the camera after the cut. It's slightly below the eye level of the standing characters in frame and is moving slightly... As if it's from the perspective of a person sitting, breathing lightly, and in the location of the chair in the previous scene.
Phoebe's possessed I think
9:33 Sounds similar to in The Shining where they reveal what Johnny was writing "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Unless the game was set before the movie or it's a common saying or something.

@@Silentgrace11 you can go on a walkthrough of the game on UA-cam and see it for yourself 😉
I’ll have to look them up, haha.
