I'm gonna tell you, when it comes to Race with Ryan, one of the developers were just having a goof with that stitch face texture. I bet my right ball the answer to that amounts to "I was bored and tired of creating cutesy assets, but forgot to delete this one (or intentionally slipped it in)". I have to say it's really wholesome and satisfying to see a community come together to figure out an easter egg...and give each other the credit they deserve.
To be fair, Code Geass merely has Pizza Hut on some episodes and C.C loves the pizza, they don't have everyone praising it like it was a gift from the gods.
Wow, damn, didn't know Pitchford would actually respond to that one, haha. When I pitched the audio up, while sounded like weird human or animal moans, I didn't find it too unusual since I thought its just how they made the sounds in first place, by pitching down the recorded moans. But the fact it got Pitchford's attention, is truly a huge surprise. However they created the sound, its not the only one in the vast and creepy sound library that game's files hold. I wonder if Remastered version does the same, or did they knowledge existence of it and removed it, or, hell, even added a new one? Can never trust those cheeky devs. Also, Merry Christmas!
The Futurama egg is one I am very proud we found. Jay kicked a ton of ass coming in from nowhere to uncover this, but hot damn did days go into this. I still have the video of it on my channel too when we found it. Congrats to all!!
i still remember spending several nights staying up with the mods and viewers in discord, talking in groupchat while i tried to figure out the futurama egg on my own. Those Borderlands noises are in the game, they're in the title screen where Claptrap is running around doing whatever he does. They're very quiet so you can only hear parts of it but after listening long enough I realized that the higher pitched audio is also used. That's odd.

Could that creepy Ryan's face be just a "halloween" or creepy costume/cosmetics but were later scrapped (because it's too unsettling)? Without the blood I honestly think it looks kinda cute, reminds me of cartoonish voodoo dolls...
No I think its probably a gag by the texture artist. Put it in there because they knew it wouldn't be used in game. Maybe they think Ryan is used like a puppet by his parents so did like a voodoo doll face. It seems a bit messily drawn vs his other faces.
That's what I thought, almost like a somewhat deranged player character (sack boy?) from LittleBigPlanet, LOL. XD I don't know anything about the Ryan's World conspiracy though. :p
I made an edit in the video, it will now only say Jason Blundell, not Infinity Ward Jason Blundell. Thanks for the heads up! The edit won't appear for a few hours.

That Ryan one is actually really disturbing; that character depicts a real child that actually exists with a disfigured face, especially one that contrasts so much with the cartoony art style of the game. Terrifying.
People are saying the texture sheet needs four faces even though the game only uses three, so it's just there to fill the sheet, but isn't actually ever used. But I can you imagine if a glitch or bug causes that face to be used while some little kid is playing it... Not only will it traumatize the kid, but the company is going to get into some serious legal issues.
I'm always amazed when Easter eggs are found involving some outlandish steps! Like someone mentioned, it'd be interesting to have a video tutorial or similar of Easter egg hunting
The Borderlands one sounds like an in-game enemy to me, the "midget psycho"'s death cries. Although it's more unintelligible and higher pitched, that's just my guess.
Yeah there's tons of weird audio, especially for bandits. In BL2, I imagine if you went data mining and came across the Bane weapon audio files you'd think there was a playable midget psycho at some point. And the rare thing where a psycho can read off like a 2 paragraph long speil of poetry.
What's even weirder about the borderlands whimpering noise is that those are like really hard and strong whimpers like it sounds like an actual animal in extreme distress and pain and it doesn't help that it changes in severity like some parts the animal is whimpering even harder making me thing that whatever is distressing it is getting closer
Still insane to think that the community, basically only associated with this channel, found out how to solve the futurama easter egg. That's crazy to me. Good job!
Probably a bunch of flags, that work with something like a boolean function. Ex. "Opened door in five seconds". Flag is set, then a timer(?) or something starts polling the larger function to find out if all the flags have been set.
Become aware of an easter eggs existence then watch the memory as you prod through iterations of input looking for commonly executed functions that aren't executed in other areas. If you have the tools and knowledge it's not much more complicated than a really big word search.
The best part about those happens to be the fact you could possibly find one by accident by just so happening to do all those extremely specific and complicated tasks.
Dude, I literally just noticed that you hadn't uploaded in a while so I went to rewatch your other videos, and then a notification for this video popped up, what good timing, but I'm not complaining. Love your videos, and have a Merry Christmas.

9:19 what’s funny is, me an my friend technically found this easter egg first, however we didn’t know we were triggering it and if you have two people in the range and both do the easter egg trigger, the second trigger will stop the easter egg. so we ended up triggering and stopping the easter egg at the exact same time all the while being completely clueless, or something along those lines.
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective I'm sorry I dont have much detail on it, he wouldn't ever tell me anything about it. All I know is that theres an egg close to the end, maybe it's something to do with the dev's? Maybe a cheeky thank you? Not sure.

There is an undiscovered Easter egg in destiny 1 with the crucible map Last Exit. It was revealed to exist through one of the devs but no one has ever found it
actually a month before spitfire was released was this.... and its the FIRST ever Easter egg Share. As discovered in March 2017, Atari's 1977 arcade game Starship 1 features an "Easter egg" (a hidden secret or item), in which the message "Hi Ron!" is relayed on-screen and the player is awarded 10 extra lives.
I know it’s quite a small game, but recently a lot has been coming out about Human Fall Flat Easter eggs. There is apparently a hidden voice clip on every level, which is particularly odd because the only voice that is meant to be in the game are some clips of a man during tutorial videos. I have found a few of them myself, so if anybody needs proof then I’ve got some of them :) Secondly, on the level ‘Aztec’, there are three literal Easter eggs that are up a tree, they are colourful and have patterns on them and stuff. Towards the end of the level, there are six pots/ holes that are empty. The theory among HFF players is that there are three more eggs somewhere on the level, and that they should all be assembled in the pots to trigger an Easter egg, although the other three remain unfound. I hope this was helpful!! :) Love your videos btw 👌
3:59 I think that can be answered with another Easter egg. In Freddi Fish: The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds there's a hidden scene where you feed Luther to an Eel. It was done as the scene artist was just wanting to blow off some steam and I'm pretty sure this is another case of dev catharsis. That or devs were hoping for a ben drowned type thing.
Exactly my thoughts as well. But that super vague answer makes me think we are wrong. You're guna tell me they didn't know what the sound came from that they decided to use and cover up with extra audio?.... seems suspicious.

Those Borderlands noises are in the game, they're in the title screen where Claptrap is running around doing whatever he does. They're very quiet so you can only hear parts of it but after listening long enough I realized that the higher pitched audio is also used. That's odd.

Not only will it traumatize the kid, but the company is going to get into some serious legal issues.

The amount of information, clips and script this guy had to bring together and make this video for people like us is amazing- respect
I would never understand how they come up with all those variables to make the easter egg work.
code reading probably
Probably a bunch of flags, that work with something like a boolean function. Ex. "Opened door in five seconds". Flag is set, then a timer(?) or something starts polling the larger function to find out if all the flags have been set.
Become aware of an easter eggs existence then watch the memory as you prod through iterations of input looking for commonly executed functions that aren't executed in other areas. If you have the tools and knowledge it's not much more complicated than a really big word search.
Thank you all for the explanation !

I know it’s quite a small game, but recently a lot has been coming out about Human Fall Flat Easter eggs.
There is apparently a hidden voice clip on every level, which is particularly odd because the only voice that is meant to be in the game are some clips of a man during tutorial videos. I have found a few of them myself, so if anybody needs proof then I’ve got some of them :)
Secondly, on the level ‘Aztec’, there are three literal Easter eggs that are up a tree, they are colourful and have patterns on them and stuff. Towards the end of the level, there are six pots/ holes that are empty. The theory among HFF players is that there are three more eggs somewhere on the level, and that they should all be assembled in the pots to trigger an Easter egg, although the other three remain unfound.
