I think the explanation for the Shrek one is pretty simple. It’s a clever representation of the idea that falling out of the map literally makes Shrek fall out of the disc and land inside the Gamecube.
Hmmm....now that's *_interesante_* if I do say so myself.
Yeah, or like the world of Shrek is alive inside your game-disc or the disc is a magical gateway to Shreks "fairytale" world.
It really doesn't look like the inside of a Gamecube, though.
MyRegardsToTheDodo the scale is off, but the layout is accurate
I opened up my game sphere cuz I was curious about the layout thing. I definitely was NOT expecting what I discovered upon opening it... there was a little Shrek person but he was dead and didnt move at all
The "falling into the the actual Gamecube" failsafe is definitely the most clever out-of-bounds failsafe I've ever seen in a game. I wish more developers did stuff like that!

I can't even tell you how much joy it gives me to know that the people I kill or die in Skyrim get placed in a hidden dungeon to be trapped for eternity.
What about Ash after resurrected undead die and turn into Ash. Do they show up in room as well? Do the room reset and clean the corpses?
Looks like something Molag Bal would do.
Hey, at least you can revive anyone you killed that you previously didn’t mean to that way.

Except those snotty nosed brats (children) such as in Whiterun. But I think there are mods to make them not invulnerable!
That WoW area was actually fully implemented in patch 7.3.0, 13 years after it had been finished. Guess they felt like actually using perfectly good assets.
I stopped playing WoW years ago, but I remember finding Old Karazhan and getting stuck there (It was weird, every death would take me to the graveyard there, every spirit healer would respawn me there) back before there was a reason to call it "Old" Karazhan. Glad to hear it actually got a legitimate use.
That lucid nightmare questliine...was tough. My main reason for doing it was not for the mount, but for the Crypts access. It's still just as spooky as ever.
The Watcher From Afar:Cp49 how recently was it added? I’ve never played WoW but I’ve heard about this place since forever, I just wonder why he wouldn’t include it in the video.

Hell of the Upside Down Sinners is a direct reference to Big Trouble in Little China. After Jack and Wang Che enter an elevator that proceeds to fill up with water they open it and swim into a pool of dead bodies hanging upside down in the water. The Karazarn crypts were made partly accessible with the launch of Legion in 2016 and the rest was opened in patch 7.3 in mid 2017 if you solve a tricky easter egg puzzle known as the Riddle of the Lucid Nightmare which has you going all over the world with no quest to guide you with a mount as a reward. The final step takes you into the crypt and the path going further in will only open if on this step.
Back in the day, Duke Nukem 3D supposedly had a cave high on a cliff, utterly inaccessible unless you had the God Mode cheat and a lot of rockets. Fire a rocket at your own feet, and you'd be blasted into the air. Fire another one while the first fireball is still expanding, and you'd be blasted higher. Do this several times with perfect timing and you could get blasted high enough to reach the cave.... which had a message on the wall, something like "How did you get up here? This shouldn't be possible. -Dev"

The graphic dudes of shrek probably thought recreating the inside of a gamecube was a much better use of their time on the clock.
Probably not wrong.
Probably wanted something to add to his resume while wasting so much time on shrek.
For the Halo 2, you have to remember that the developers (Bungie) had very little time to finish halo 2 completely. And most people know that if Halo 2 didnt get out on time, Microsoft would have lost the console wars to everyone. (Because halo was Microsoft's main console selling point.) The reason the final warthog run in Halo 2 was cut was because Bungie could not get the landings in the gravity well sections to stick properly, so they abandoned the concept altogether. Also, he would not have rammed the warthog into a covenant ship, he would race against the clock to reach the forerunner dreadnought before it took off and went to earth.
While i would have liked a final warthog run in halo 2, i'm glad they didn't include it because that would have made Halo 3's warthog run less special IMO. But it would have been poetic. (Halo 1: Warthog run in UNSC ship, Halo 2: Warthog run on covenant space station, Halo 3: Warthog run on forerunner installation.) Had they included the warthog run, everyone would've complained about how repetitive the final warthog run is.
wouldn’t be the last time bungie ditched a great game concept. cough cough *destiny* cough cough
@@unknwn6025 bungie literally ditched Halo so uhhh
Or maybe it was just a hint that halo 2 wasn't the the last game yet? (or you know, could of been time constraints)
wasnt halo 2 supposed to also be double its length? i heard somewhere that everything in halo 3 was intended to also be a part of halo 2 but got split off for its own game bc of the whole console war thing. hence the cliffhanger ending of halo 2
I've always been glad they didn't have a Warthog run at the end of Halo 2. It would have made the Warthog run in Halo 3 feel like a repetitive gimmick rather than a nostalgic callback. I think the fight with Tartarus was enough of a memorable ending level.
Though it is not a location bug there is a built in bug in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines in that if you spend your points in character creation then change what clan you are the points will stay on your character allowing you to max out your character at the start.
When you first meet Jack after the initial cutscene he will look at you bemused and you will be able to ask him, what? before he breaks the 4th wall and calls you out on cheating and how that you didn't think anyone would notice.
You then can either says you need the extra points because you are bad or say you are sorry and will redo your character.
Additionally if you're a Malkavian you can say that Cain made you do it
“Hello welcome! What would you want?”
“I would like a Shrek please!”
“Okay! Large, Medium or Small?”
“Can you make it Extra Large?”
“Yes!”
“Okay, so that will be a Shrek: Extra Large.”

Them using Hades instead of hell is not a mistranslation. Hades is often used a synonym for the word hell/a more formal sounding Greek version of the word. It's especially used in literature.
Considering there's a Summon in FF7 called 'Hades' I believe it may be a mistranslation unless you're in the bowels of the summon itself.

I remember as a kid playing WoW, there was an area blocked off by an invisible wall on a mountain. With a mount you could pass over the wall and traverse an unfinished area, that I believe was later released in an expansion. This was within the first year or so the game was released, so I dont remember details, but I do remember loving it as a kid and it inspired me to be interested in boundary breaking to this day.
As much as one can ponder about and call pointless many of such seemingly unnecessary places, it is still really cool to see things like this. It can add a nice extra layer of charm to a title you may already hold dear, and I think that's just swell :).
that final fantasy 7 one actually freaked me out a little, like thats unsettling, the floor was speaking in a kinda comedic way about it before, but then it screams? eugh- then you're told your in hell? god... like thinking about debug rooms as a canonical hell, i never thought of that before, thats awful!

The scream really made me so uncomfortable.. I don't think I'll be able to sleep.

You should do a video covering the "unknown" and "debug land" located in the old game Cartoon Network Universe: Fusionfall. They were out of bounds areas that contained all of the games areas created only through instances, as well as areas created simply for testing. Some areas even contained unique animations that only existed in that area, scrapped and unused. Some areas even contain shops and monsters that are nowhere else in the game with unique unobtainable items.

glad you beat me to this one as it was so obvious. P.S. love that movie!
dammit, you beat me to it!
so, the silliest part (and why I remember this item) is because getting a trinket was a HUGE deal back when I got this to drop and I'd never seen big trouble in little china. I remember reading the flavor text and thinking "this has to be a reference to something". Years later a friend at work found out I never saw the movie and MADE me watch it and when it got to that line my head asploded.
i'd bet the shrek one was the model the programming team used to get the job. it's also possible that when they couldn't make the game look very good, they included the gamecube rendering to prove their talents were superior to it.
2:25 Spyro the dragon just went turbo.
In City of Heroes there was a hidden control room that had an MCP-like core to it. You had to swim way out to the right side of the map in Peregrine Island and then swim along the wall until you came to a crack in the seam. You could eventually wiggle your way through it and drop down into the room. However, you needed to be teamed up with someone who could teleport you out. Story was that if game managers caught you in there, you'd be perma-banned.
I'm surprised the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Title Screen Area Glitch wasn't covered in this video. There are two ways to access this area and I should note it's only for the Wii version of the game.
The first most reliable way to access this area is to go to a place where Link can sink into the sand and "die" such as Arbiter Grounds. As he sinks he does an animation that ultimately results in his hand being the last part of him that is consumed by the sand. Just before his fingers dip below the sand, press the "Home" button on the Wii Remote and choose Reset to go to the Title Screen.
The other method is a bit more finicky, but can be accessed as soon as you can get to the rope bridge that connects the town to the forest. Anywhere on the rope bridge, face out towards the void so Link can slip through the gaps of rope, run forward to jump off the bridge and, at the height of your jump, reset using the same method above. This is a bit harder, but due to being able to access it way earlier in the game, makes it much more rewarding.
If it works, instead of seeing the intro cutscene, you'll instead be warped to an area where you have very little items and several things are initially disabled, such as the pause screen, hub and the ability to swing your sword. However, jumping off a bridge will allow you access to most things like Saving and any items you can currently see in your hub. On this screen you have many options and most of the out of bounds collision have been removed, so if you go where an area transition should be, instead of transitioning you'll fall to your death. You can also find Epona, which allows you to traverse out of bounds, but if you traverse back in bounds, you'll fall to your death and lose the ability to use Epona. The title screen area does have patches of grass where you can get hearts and rupees to rid yourself of the annoying beeping sound.
If you die and have to continue, you'll be warped to the horseback battle against the moblins, and if you win that battle you'll be warped to a strange version of Kakariko village which due to how certain triggers function, you won't be able to leave. Alternatively, Saving and Loading to the Title Screen Area will result in a number of interesting glitched areas in the Intro Sequence, but you'll eventually find yourself trapped in Ordon Village in Wolf Form due to your inability to get a sword. There are other secrets to be discovered here, but these are the ones I know about at least.
Nice video but, hades isn't /really/ a mistranslation. It is old english and it is derived from greek, but I think most people know that its just a pretentious way of saying hell.
You're right about everything but the "pretentious" part. There is nothing pretentious at all about using it.
@@aceldamia9114 go to hades
dizzy zek How is it pretentious?
Because the only reason you would use Hades over hell is to satiate a superiority complex over other people who don't really know it's usage. That is by definition, pretty pretentious.

Thanks for mentioning underdog games like Landstalker. A brutally difficult but awesome segment of my childhood.
ffuck yeah😭
on the new sega classics game on next gen consolses, its ALOT easier
"I've been waiting for you, now come here"
"No" 😎
4:37 that gun bit made me laugh so hard xD
x1 daring Maybe that was the opposite of the room in Skyrim. An off map location holding all the guns that can be teleported into the game as gameplay progresses.
My mind was blown when I realized that the secret Spyro area was Hogwarts
I want to play Shrek: Extra Large. That sounds like my kind of game.
Idk man I didn't like it
I remember in Pirates Online (the Disney MMO) some players lead me through a series of wall breaches on the island with a volcano on it, and eventually I was lead to a shop that had all the top tier weapons and equipment. I remember the shop being in a glitchy area, but now going back on the fan remake (TLOPO, an exact copy of the original) years later, I forget how to get to the shop. It bums me out because before the top level stuff was locked unless you had a paid membership, but now its all free. It would be nice to find the shop again and buy all the good stuff. Anyway, my guess as to why that shop was there is that it was probably a tool for the devs to test out new content that they were adding into the game at the time.
WWHHHAAATT! I thought I was going crazy with that first clip, turns out.... its a clip I made haha
Nice!
He thought you would never find it. This is a video you were never meant to find!
for the WoW area the upside down sinners is a reference to John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China
I 2nd that, good vid, and classic must see movie
The pit with the bones could also be a reference the the pit where Jack is hanging over in the wheelchair.
How u get to them
Another cool video. Very entertaining. Keep up the good work. I also subbed after finding your channel last night...
10:55 alright to be honest does anyone got their bones up when you heard *SHREK EXTRA LARGE*
My bones don't leave my skeleton, thanks.
@@squeaktheswan2007 wimp
@@404TVfr Yeah, I know.
That Landstalker scene... I feel robbed!
You’re the only top 10 UA-camr I will watch/love.
The reference she makes in Final Fantasy is actually a reference to Dante's Inferno (not the game). In one of the circles of Hell Dante walks across the faces of damned souls. The movie "What Dreams May Come" has a similar scene.
One of the few youtuber's I love watching. Great videos man!
*_opens up GameCube_*
*_finds a miniature Shrek_*
Strange that Shrek: Extra Large was featured as I only just rediscovered that game today. And looking at it, it was a lot more terrible than I remembered.
I find this kind of stuff really interesting, not sure why.
Dude. Its horrible!!!
I wonder if the graphic artist(s) made the Game Cube circuitry area because they were bored about designing a shitty custom work environment, or they were just new in the field and pushed the boundaries of their talent on this meaningless task.
Makes it seem like Shrek is inside of your GameCube. That was pretty clever. Never played a Shrek game in my life. Alot of creepy crap I'd say was inspired by the Shadow Temple and DOOM 😂
You forgot about Serious Sam eggs though. They're pretty insane
Oh my god Serious Sam was a mad game I remember playing that when I was like 8.
I just love this channel, i come back from time to time and just rewatch these vids for a laugh... keep them coming chief
The Guardian Legend, NES. You can password your way out of the map, which results in the eeriest hidden area ever.
You see, the map itself is 256x256, but the outside area is 4096x4096, making it many times larger than the game was intended to be.
Even weirder is the fact that every room outside of the map SEEMS random, but returning to the same room after resetting the game will have the same result.
Somehow, after designing this game, the programmers created an algorithm that maps the actual terrain to the map coordinates, (I assume this was done to save memory?) and the seemingly random levels outside of the map are the results of passing the invalid coordinates through the algorithm. These can even include boss battles and entrances into the special corridor levels... which are also apparently generated by algorithms because the corridors you encounter out there are WAY beyond the scope of the game. There are 21 corridors in the game. In the "lost frontier", as I've heard it called, I've encountered corridor 1036, which was just an endless corridor with one boss repeated over and over again.
I'm still fascinated by this algorithm decades later.
7:52 for the clickbait thumbnail
clickbait?
Yeah, clickbait
Isint it only clickbait if they don't show it in the video?
Not really the room does exist
thanks man
Skyrim 0:23-1:23 Dead Body Cleanup Cell
World Of Warcraft 5:57-6:58 Morgan's Vigil Crypt
I always found it a neat idea if the enemies killed were buried in underground graveyards that your character/characters could visit, If only more games could have that extra bit of detail added.
Come to think of it, those two areas need mapping out, first
It's got NOTHING to do with performance in skyrim though. Just delete the game object, problem solved.
It’s not a place for you to visit. It’s a place to dump stuff to prevent bugs and performance issues.
And now I kind of want to see something put in a memorial to everything the player slaughtered. Just have this never ending list of names with date of birth and death. Possibly a few other details for the sake of humanizing the dead.
That'd be quite the effort indeed, but it'd be worth it
There is a Easter egg in a psp Jrpg I can’t remember the name of (it’s been years) where you see a team mate of yours bathing and she throws a axe at your head and kicks you out but you get to keep the axe. I think the game is astonishia story but I could be wrong
"Upside Down Sinners" is a reference to "Big Trouble in Little China"
7:52 for Landstalker, source of the thumbnail.
Thanks.

You're welcome!
How u do that
@@questionmark3666
I found the timestamp by watching the video until I got to the right part, then checking the time stamp on the bottom of the video. I just typed it into a comment, and it automatically became a link.
I made the link to the previous replier by typing the "@" symbol, and then typing their screen name. UA-cam automatically transformed it into a link.
Either that, or, as in the case of my reply to you, I clicked "REPLY", and the link was formed on its own. I am not sure which was the case earlier.
Lol how u do glitch in game
Literally have been watching for two days. Your already my favorite channel. Your videos are so well constructed, and your voice just adds and extra 10 percent. keep it up dude.
8:25 This is thr thumbnail. You're welcome
Thx
Who would put that into a game the hero watching the antagonist taking a bath
Ah, i LOVE thr!
They should’ve allowed the hero enter the room in the international version and for him to join her in the bath.
Ok but Imagine accidentally walking in on your girlfriend taking a bath, and when you reject her offer of joining in, some mythical being beats the shit out of you
You can actually go into the karazhan krypts nowadays as part of an easter egg mount hunt. You have to go all around the world, solve a bunch of puzzles, and navigate an endless maze. Your reward is access to the krypts and a special black unicorn mount.
Better rev up those fryers cuz I sure am hungry for MORE ODDHEADER CONTENT.
Well, I guess I will go and try to be social today. Let’s see. Who can it hang out wi-oh! Oddheader uploaded! Nvm let’s binge all his videos again
Anyway
@DoWhatIWant bro thats alot when your watching the same videos over and over again its alot in general
@DoWhatIWant im just saying you could be alot more productive in even the smallest of ways than rewatch the same videos for 2 hours
The WoW easter egg with the well of upside down sinners is a reference to "Big Trouble in Little China"
