This is only a band-aid. The clicking noise is caused by broken plastic gears inside one or more of the 4-5 blend door actuators mounted around the heater/blower unit. Quick hint, for my 2006 Armada the easiest one is on BOTTOM of heater/blower unit at passenger footwell, 3 ea. 5.5 MM screws, you do NOT need to remove Glove Box, Dash, Center Console, etc. Replacing It fixed my issue with passenger vents and vents on back of center console blowing cold air when the Heater was on (driver side vents blew hot). 15 mins total. There is one on top of unit on passenger side that is PITA to access; it can be done without removing dash but takes patience and right tools. I believe it controls Defrost. There is another one on drivers side footwell (not talking about the easy one down low) that is also a PITA, it controls the driver side vents. If you have upgraded sound system there will an Amplifier in the way that you have to move out of the way. You'll need to see a Chiropractor a few times after this one. Again, this video is ONLY A BAND-AID, it does not fix the reason there is a clicking noise.
Chris..... I have a similar issue with 2006 Armada. Entire car blows a/c as it should but the driver gets extremely hot air. Does that sound like your same problem? Easily fixed from below without removing the dash?
Excellent comment. My Armada is clicking from the glovebox area. I will try to actuator that you mentioned that's easy to get to and located under the blower motor first. Fingers crossed this does it.
The clicking noise is the actuator/motor that opens the hot cold air blend door. You will eventually either have the door jammed in a position that lets heat and air in at the same time or you will have the door stuck in either the cold or hot position. If you hear this noise don't let anyone give you the run around. Get the motor and door replaced at the same time. Nissan charges about 1200 for this repair and will avoid doing it if they can causing you to keep coming back bcs they have to open up the dash.
That's not the blend door, it's the recirculating air door, the one that chooses wether you get fresh air from outside or recirculate the air from inside the cabin, the blend door is completely different
I’m an ASE certified technician and I don’t see how this is going to stop that noise, that noise is the blend door actuator located on the driver side up high and you have to replace that to stop the noise. Done a few of them works every time. What he’s doing I highly don’t recommend unless you want to change out your filter which I do recommend
Right ! and it is not necessary to remove the right part of the dashboard to remove the glove box. It has a pair of frame pins on the bottom that can easily be removed to reach the filter compartment. I have done it, it is very easy to change the air cabin filter and it is not related to the noise from the actuator ( that surely has a broken gear ), and its replacement is more complicated than it seems to DIY.
Is there a lower and upper actuator motors on 2005 Titans? I replaced a lower one about a year ago and it directs air flow as it should but recently I've had the clapping noise this guy has
@@dannygreen6145 well I did a short video on the Nissan titans and Infiniti QX56 with the amp, if you have this setup the amp has to come out, regardless of which setup it has wear gloves, the brackets are sharp and I’ve got scars now as proof of that, also lots of extensions and use 1/4 drive tools and lots of patience and you be ok.

Ive been dealing with mine since i bought it 7 years ago used....its stops after about 20 seconds. 240,000 miles and the heat and air still work fine.Ive learned to accept it...mine is the upper one and my mechanic wanted nothing to do with it.
As inaccurate as it gets! Worked at Nissan dealership and usually is the blend door actuator. Or one of the 5 actuators found on these vehicles getting weak. I can’t believe this video still up ! Please dnt make videos that are misleading 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Mine only does the noise 5 min after the truck is shut off and if the switch is on the heater position but if I switch the knob to ac position and I turn off the truck it doesn't make the noise at all
Your clicking might also be coming from under the drivers side dash in the center console. There is another set of flaps and motors there as well. I might be able to get in there to show you this weekend.
I don't think he put the zip tie around the actual vent flap, but rather put a ziptie around what it closes against, to stop it from going all the way. How it works is that it stops it from jumping off the track, cause it can no long go far enough to do so due to the zip tie taking about 1/8 of an inch of that space.
@@ArrowheadGarage going to try the glove box one this weekend and then will have to try the steering wheel side if it fails. Steering wheel side is more difficult
*You literally didn't show THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the "fix".* Where does the tie go? How does it go on? How does it stop the clicking noise? #FakeVideo
If you just select the circulate button and a vent direction button (defrost, feet, body, etc.) it stops for me. It only happens when none of the button lights are lit up, suggesting the HVAC isn’t set to anything and doesn’t seem to know what to do.
Anyone familiar with Titan speakers? Mine are shot. Replacing them today. It looks like an easy fix, which means it’s not. Will this project require cutting speaker harness wiring? If so, I’m not even going to attempt it.
I do like you video, however, I wanted to actually see it making the noise when you had all the filters removed. in other words have a before and after sound and no sound video but great video nonthe less.
Titan engineers should have built one Titan and gave up! This is a crappy design on how to actually change one out and keep in mind there’s more than one !! My suggestion… trade it in for a Toyota 4 runner😂
When operating ac don't set at coolest settings just slightly above coolest settings and hot not at hottest setting PS manual dial blue and red dial settings
mine is intermittent slow clicking sound that also turns on the blinkers when it clicks? happens when i open the doors. starts the engines, driving, happens when the car's engine is off ..etc. intermittenly?
@@ArrowheadGarage 2007 Nissan Armada When I bought it ..used... the previous owner had customized and modified some things. You need to show the zip tie
Yes now it was worthless to watch this
Definitely should have shown how he did the zip tie. Makes you wonder if he really did it
Man I had the same issue I found this video tho where the guy actually shows it.

They told us when our truck was still new there was nothing they could do to fix the clicking when we turned the ac off .
This is how they get you to spend $1200 on a $2 repair.
Would you happen to know if this problem could be why my truck is overheating?
