You can't go wrong with either. If you are sensitive to drone and want a great daily setup, touring is the way. If you want raw, deep sound...track. They both sound fantastic on the EJ motor.

@@Scoobyfreak86 I remember when you first put on the Touring and that really hit home with me. Sounded really good. Of course, listening on a pair of headphones doesn't do it justice and everything is compressed. I can only imagine what it sounds like in person. Now the track is appealing as well. It is a tad deeper and I do like deeper. I can't wait to start modding. Will start with the small stuff first.
For folks that have never driven an STI, do yourself a favor and go test drive one. The WRX is a great car but having owned both, I can say the STI wins hands down when it comes to performance. I was blown away by the precise shifting on the STI. Insurance was also cheaper on the STI too.

I just switched to the track and omg the track it’s so much louder than the touring. I need my son to drive the car so I can hear it from the outside. I do have a catless downpipe wich it will make it louder.
A bit loud for my tastes, but that warm idle sound is music to my ears.

This was kind of my plan for when I get a DP, but this sounds just as loud as my Tomei XD Sounds awesome!

I had a bunch of other exhaust work done so it’s hard to say. It didn’t drone, but wasn’t over the top.

I like the track. They sound very similar on phone over TV I even put my headset on. But the track might be a few dbs higher but in a lower tone. And it seems like the touring would resonate longer...( I can't find the word, but when you were doing revs the track just sounds like it was matching up exactly with the engine. The touring kinda carried on a little more.)

Evo is parked in a driveway. Subie i wasn’t looking that direction at the time. I added a ✌🏻on the bottom right after I watched the clip back to acknowledge it.

I’m new to stick and I can’t get the rev match from 3rd to 2nd I got all the other gears down , any advice or tips on how to do it ? Great content btw !!
I’ll be doing a “how to drive an STI” video soon. I’ll go over in detail of what I do to drive it smoothly.
I usually do it on my Sti when I slow down enough that it wouldn’t be too rough rev matching into 2nd gear or I’ll blip the throttle a little more than usual.

Honestly, the gains over a high quality cat these days to a catless setup isn’t very much. Maybe a few extra at most.

So comparing the track to the Delta motor works exhaust you previously had are they about the same?
The delta was a bit louder overall. It had 0 resonators in the whole system. It sounded great prior to going to stage 3 and being on stock dp and headers. But once I changed over, it was too loud and raspy.
I am planning to upgrade to touring edition but im thinking about how the drone. Before I do have the r400 and the drone was really bad. AWE Touring vs r400 drone Which is better when it comes to drone sounds in the highway.
The awe touring doesn’t really drown while cruising on the freeway. The tires are louder. The r400 is known to drone a lot on the freeway.

What's the in cabin drone like between the 2?
As mentioned in the video, the track has more drone due to no mufflers. The touring did drone a tad on my specific setup.
I’m debating on switching to the touring edition I have a tomei on the car currently. From your experience do you think it’s quiet enough for the switch?
Touring is still decently loud. It just has less drone.
Does it shoot any flames occasionally without the muffler now?
It does not. I’m running cats, so that limits the ability for that.
Are you still running stock pistons and rods?
Yes stock internals

Not a massive difference, but it is a bit louder.
Do you think the track edition on an FA WRX will still sound good with a stock down pipe (for now lol)

track sounds a lot louder in person, i have both track and touring and when i first switched back from track to touring i swear it sounded stock to me lol
You’re not entirely wrong. The overall volume is very similar. The track is a bit louder, for obvious reasons. But the overall tone is very noticeable in person. Touring was very hollow and high pitched sounding. Track is very deep, bassy, and aggressive.
Listen to it with headphones or a sound system, the track gives a rumble
