Looking at different options for a B9 Audi A4 and was wondering how much of a volume difference touring vs track is. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being stock, 10 being a complete no cat straight pipe) where would track and touring be on the scale roughly? Also are they both valved?
The Touring and Track Edition are not valved. If you are looking for a valved system you want to go with the SwitchPath™ Edition. The biggest difference between Touring and Track is how they are going to sound in the cabin. The Touring Edition has our patented drone-canceling 180 Technology® resonators where the Track Edition does not so you may be subjected to more harsh frequencies when cruising that would not be present on the Touring Edition.
You guys make some killer sounding products. I just bought a B9 S5 and I can tell on day 3 that I'm going to pick up an exhaust within the first year or so. AWE has sounded best in all the comparisons I've checked out. Just have to decide which configuration I want to choose. I know near-zero about how exhaust valves work so - On your Switchpath offering, does that work directly with the stock Audi valve controller (i.e you put it in sport mode, and it'll open up the full exhaust. Put it in comfort, and it defaults to the muffled side only?) Or is there a separate controller that would need to be installed?
The valving of our SwitchPath will operate the same as your stock exhaust on your B9 S5. Dynamic mode on your vehicle will open the valving according to the ECU's prompts 👍
You are correct. They share all of the same components except for the 180 Technology Resonators on the Touring. The Res Touring is ideal for catless set-ups, otherwise we find a split of Track or non-Resonated Touring with stock DPs.

@@awetuning okay thanks, I was looking at the track. Any particular reason you say the touring over the track? I watched the video but still can’t decide
They're essentially the same from outside of the cabin. Track will be rowdier in the cabin at all times, whereas the Touring Edition features out patented drone-canceling 180 Technology® resonators. They kill drone-prone frequencies while retaining a literal straight-through design (meaning you can see the other end when looking through the can). No packing material like a traditional resonator/muffler so the tone wont change over time (typical systems will change when the material inside breaks down). Touring is the best of both worlds, and quite frankly, checks every box a driver would have on that platform. Power gains, the best sound on the planet, and engineered to accomodate aftermarket diffs if you're looking to aim for a big power build. No silly Xpipes (they dont belong on Hemis) and premium USA steel.
