ALMOST got this but went with Borla S Type. Love it but this sounds great too. Also, love to see im not the only one that gives a couple small revs when starting out of 1st. Easy fix to “stumble” STI’s are known for lol
So jealous haha I have a modded FA20 with the R400... love my exhaust... but not having THAT rumble... kills me sometimes! Lol great setup, almost pulled the trigger on this one myself! Great choice awesome sound!
@@ZachVizzuso he said to just do the normal touring then get the conversion So that way we can both do track later on and not be HELLLLA loud if something happens with noise complaints
I honestly would consider touring edition if I ever upgraded the downpipe. At that point it may be too loud. Not a bad idea to get both so you have options 🤔
@@ZachVizzuso he said the same thing about once he upgrades the Downpipe it’ll be super loud and I was like “yeahhhh but I like living dangerous lmfaooo” and I know how to deal with situations when it comes to cops being close by
Sounds awesome! I have nameless axle back and I’m getting the midpipe this summer to get a complete catback exhaust but this was my second option! Sounds incredible
Did you ever get the midpipe? How much louder is it than just axleback and can you hear some turbo whistle? I also have nameless axleback and thinking about getting the midpipe.
@@miguelc3033 I sold my axle back and got an ets extreme catback for an absolute steal of a price and also have a cobb catted downpipe. I had the dp on before the catback so i dont know if youre gonna hear turbo noises without a dp. I get a slight whistle when upshifting now, if I was catless, there would be way more whistle tho!
This is the best sound I've heard on a 15-20 wrx/sti. I used to imagine this is what it would sound like with headers..this exhaust brings such a deep and mean sound.
Sounds so good man! I’m looking for an exhaust for my sti and I’m between this and the invidia r400. I do want loud and I want to be heard but I don’t want trouble from the cops lol have you had any trouble? I also want overall quality with it too. Would you say this would satisfy better than the r400 on the sti?
How’s the drone? And would you say it’s daily driveable? I have the awe track exhaust on my 2018 focus rs and this seems much louder. I’m getting a 2021 STI the end of July and I’m contemplating this exhaust.
It has some drone. For me it’s not a big deal but for someone who is sensitive to that noise it may be a problem. I do daily this car. The “loudness” you mentioned is because the audio comes from the GoPro footage pointing at my exhaust. It’s not a true in-car experience.
The Awe is a really good choice. Sounds good and I love how the 4 inch tips look and how they completely fill in the exhaust cutouts in the rear diffuser. Also, if you find the track edition to be too loud, AWE sells a conversion kit to go from the track to the touring. Basically just adds mufflers. I ended up doing that because the track was a little too loud for me.
@@potatopal7511 Definitely man. Im leaning towards the awe track. Like I mentioned in my first comment I have it on my RS and love it. My only other questions would be to get resonated or non resonated, and do I need to also purchase the 3”-2.5” adapter to the stock down pipe and upgraded exhaust hanger bushings?
@@fbmbiker50 I would say resonated. I didnt know they made a non-resonated version. And it should come with everything you need to install it. You dont need any upgraded exhaust hanger bushings or adapters. As a matter of fact, the axleback portion of the exhaust only uses 1 of the 2 oem exhaust hanger bushings cause its much lighter than the stock axleback portion.
Since the car is bone stock except the exhaust I don’t notice any rasp. I think I might run into that problem if I upgrade the downpipe. But hard to say for sure until I do 😁
Stock downpipe. Increase in cabin volume might just be due to my microphone/camera setup. I’m sure your setup is just as loud if you got the track edition.
Maybe I’ll do a video on this. It would be much easier to show you then typing it out. In short, let off the gas, push the clutch in, downshift, blip the gas to bring the rpm up and let out the clutch. This almost becomes one motion as you learn.
@@ZachVizzuso that’s a great explanation. Downshifting into second you gotta use alittle bit more gas lol idk if I wanna go with this exhaust or get one from COBB. I love the low sounding rumble!

Just installed the track edition and man it really gives you that classic subie rumble.
Love the STI boxer rumble but this is too loud for my taste.

Just enough to bump the RPMs up so it doesn’t fall on its face 😁
Sorry my gs but that’s just a sign that you haven’t mastered driving the STI yet.
This was fun. Thanks! Im still with stock muffler but shopping around

Stock tune

No trouble with the cops so far. I agree with your statement. AWE is a solid company and known for their quality. AWE Track exhaust is the way to go.
@@ZachVizzuso thank you for the fast reply man, Settled my decision definitely gotta get the awe now!
Sounds amazing! Any issues with the tips being to close to the plastic part of the rear bumper? Did you use any extended hanger? Thanks!
No issues with them being close to the bumper. The only complaint I have with awe is it took a lot work to get everything to line up.
Are you running the AWE track exhaust with the stock downpipe or an aftermarket dowmpipe? TIA!
Stock downpipe!

It doesn’t a much as a ets extreme because of the mid pipe resonator. Definitely deeper rumble than the ets. Just swapped from ets to this 😅
Does it drone?
No drone. It’s plenty loud yet manageable in the city/residential areas.
Were you able to hear the turbo a little more at idle?
You hear more turbo but not necessarily at idle. I hear it more with smaller throttle blips in low rpms.
