Mike, thank again for taking me along on your latest road-trip. The only way that I have any contact with other drummers is through UA-cam, as I don’t even know any other drummers in my area. I know that there are some kids around, but what kid wants to hang out with a 73 year old. Not cool, and that is why I enjoy the few good friends I have made on UA-cam. My favorites are Earl Bennett, jimflys2, the Swedish Drummer, and you. If any of these are unfamiliar to you, you might want to check them out, as they are so generous with sharing their time and wisdom just like you do.
Great interview Mike! I love seeing these drum space interviews. Do all drummers have a miscellaneous storage section in their house? I know I do lol. I would have liked to heard some more about Nick's cymbal choices for his different gigs or recording. I saw some nice Agops on his Brooklyn kit but it appears there are a wide variety of other brands he uses too (except Bosphorus :) . It's always interesting to hear how these choices are made.
This one was great! There was one section of the video that definitely hit home for me. My snare I'll never part with is my 6.5x14 Supraphonic. And there's 2 awesome things about it: First, it was $15 at The White House of Music Rummage Sale back in June 2009. Second, it has the production date stamped inside which is August 17th, 1967. And that too, is my mom's birthday.
Pizza is the best cat of all time. I’m so glad Nick included that gem of an animal in this video. 😂❤️
Shoutout Pizza!
Pizza says “Thanks, man!”

Hit him up on IG, he posts a lot of great content there discussing some of his equipment and uses.

Wish I had a drum with my birthday, but people don't really work on Christmas day.
