    fun fact by the way!

Kamal Mahmud personally i still preferred tian tian (i used to work nearby so had both quite often) as i felt the chicken was just cooked better and was juicier. ah tai’s chicken consistency isnt really there, on some days its as good as tian tian’s, on some days its just dry and has that powdery texture when you bite into it..

You make me feel so ashamed sometimes! I am a Singaporean and I take all these food for granted. Sometimes I even complain there is nothing much to eat.... there is char kway teow, yong tau foo, roti prata, roast meat, chicken rice etc... all within walking distance of where I live. And I still whine about eating the same stuff all the time. Thanks for making me appreciate my country more!

As a local, I have had Chicken rice all around Singapore. I thought the best was tian tian until I tried 139 Hainan Chicken Rice at Yuhua Village Market & Food Centre, Blk 254 Jurong East St 24 #01-39, 600254. They have the best white chicken rice in Singapore! Cannot go back to tian tian after that. 139's Chicken is significantly bigger, more tender, juicier. Rice is like little clear pearls and super fragrant, fluffy and 粒粒分明。 The chilli sauce is the best ever. It's fragrant and has the perfect balance of flavour and kick that you would want to spoon over your rice and it that way! We do that every single time! Its become a staple meal at least once a week for our family. Whats more, they sell other types of meat too, such as roasted chicken, roasted pork, char siew too! Don't forget to order a side of chicken innards (鸡胗)! The cook them to perfection! Soft yet bouncy, the liver so well done its tender... ohhhh.... u have to try that!

hi mike, for the scissors cut rice you ate around 4:00, i think you missed out man. you HAVE to try their "goh leh cai", which is stewed (I think) cabbage, that you HAVE to try. it's super good and soft and goes with the curry really well.
Regarding the places listed in the video, those that I know, I love them so much (especially the fish soup place), like whenever I wanna eat that dish I'd just drive over to eat.
thanks for the introduction for the last place, I'm definitely gonna eat there VERY soon! I love me a good soup.

I love this video. As a foodie I appreciate how you observe/eat your food. I do wonder if you ever eat dishes that aren’t good. The only reason I ask is IF you have ever watched food network or any typical food show (everything is always delicious). I find that to reduce the credibility of what I watch and i feel like it’s specifically designed to pander to the public instead of giving the WHOLE truth or fact about the food.

Hey Mike! You seem to really enjoy chicken rice, so here are my recommendations:
    1. Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice at Golden Mile Food Centre (B1)
    2. Xiang Ji Hainanese Chicken Rice at Haig Road Food Centre (black signboard)
    3. Huat Huat Hainanese Chicken Rice also at Haig Road Food Centre
They may not be the best in Singapore but they are my personal favourites. They are cheaper and imo, better than Tian Tian. Also, Haig Road has a wide selection of very good hawker dishes (e.g wanton mee, satay, Indian Muslim food) and is near Geylang Serai Market (L2) - another hawker food haven.
The standards at Ah Tai has dipped so I wouldn't recommend it to any one looking for alternatives to Tian Tian.
