I’m so happy for those small stalls gaining their first star! I bet all my money that their food is amazing! The hard work and passion they put in their food shows! I bet they were nervous about the outcome but I’m so happy for them
All the foods look tempting to me, at least most. Even the Coconut dishes, and I'm not crazy about coconut, lol.. the Coconut Jelly is beautiful with its palm tree!! 🌴🥥 🍚 😊
May be true, but in many restaurants around the world it's used on menus as the name of the fish being served(or do ppl just know it's to describe a 'large scaled Australian Fish'??) .. but thank you so much for the information. 🌿
For those that are saying Mike ate raw chicken, it’s not raw. The meat that looks red or purple is actually Bone Marrow pigment. It can be eaten. Go look it up…… hope you learn something today… Cheers!!!!
You beat me to it. He’s been catching a lot of fire lately on loving everything he eats… maybe some of it is warranted… but that chicken was not raw. That coloring can happen on fully cooked DARK MEAT typically.
It's kind of funny to see people overreact even though the chicken was probably grilled or smoked, which can make the chicken inside turn somewhat pink it's the same reaction when you smoke brisket and ribs also younger chickens tend to be more pink since they have thinner skin.
Smoking doesn't always leave a ring and it could absolutely still be grilled. But more importantly than that, not every country uses hyper industrialized chicken factories for their poultry. There are breeds of chicken that can be eaten raw. Americans have just been taught to be afraid of their food.
@@user-zw7uu6hd5x yea, a Michelin star restaurant would TOTALLY serve raw chicken, am I right? 🙄🤡 It's as if its the first time a Michelin star chef frying a chicken.
Any chicken or meat really, marinated for long will have the spice blend colour penetrate into it especially if the marinade has red chilies or peppers of any sort. Another one if it's marinated or stewed in a tomato based sauce, it will develop that colour. We marinate chicken all the time overnight in the fridge in a spice, scotch bonnet pepper mix. Especially when we first cook it on very low heat in it's marinade before deep-frying or baking, that’s how it looks. Which is probably the case here because the outside is red and he said it himself it was marinated in a spice mix
It's because the first people who started the Michelin star awarding came in cars so they can try out restaurants who they never been. The cars had Michelin tyres and is sponsored by the tyre company.
Mouth watering nasi lemak. Nasi lemak one of my favourite dishes. Can't wait to eat all the delicious food when am there in February 2024. From Italy.😋😋😋
Hey Mike. The Michelin event was classy. I enjoyed that. It's cool for them to have different eats there as well.. 😎 The last course meal was the best! That pork belly. Do Enjoy, Happy Tuesday... 🐞😋❤️🥰🤗
Side bar: I've thought this for a long time... If I could have $2 for every extended 's' sound, I could afford a decent living.. No criticism to our gallant host by any means, I love every one. I'm not counting either. 😅❤🤗😚❤
I KNOW. I need an answer to this cuz I went there to eat twice n the chicken were like this both times. So.. is it not cooked fully or nah?!?! like uncooked food is scary to me ..... esp chicken....
It all looks amazing. I'm sad because the only Chinese restaurant in my area is closing tomorrow. They were open 46 years. House Of Kee. I've been going there since the opened and there is no other Chinese restaurant like it. Family owned all this time. I've looked all over to find another Chinese restaurant in my area and there are all gone. We use to have 4 or 5, now 0.
I kinda would want you to visit the Jin in Munich, Germany, just for the funsies xD It's a higher class chinese restaurant. Never been there, because Munich is quite far away from where I live but I only heard good things and for Munich and being high class, it doesn't seem that expensive either. (Munich is not a cheap city to be in.)
Ate there a few times. The best. Not sure cuz never ate all of sg Nasi lemak. It is still a good dish. I did not have any stomach discomfort after every meal so I supposed it is not raw. The con is definitely marinated with different kinds of spices.
You're being ignorant. Award winning places all around Singapore serve chicken like that cause it's more juicy. People eat steak that's barely cooked. This chicken is cooked equivalent to medium.

The word Barramundi is actually an Australian Aboriginal word meaning large scale river fish

at first i thought the pink chicken meat looked undercooked. Thanks for the info of marinade causing the meat to appear so.
@@Alphapunk2 You're welcome 😊
How do you make reservations at chef kangs? I’m traveling to Singapore in June. I tired their website and WhatsApp but there’s nothing in here :(

that fish and soup looked decadent! also now im craving coconut LOL
I like the Michelin man shirt. Funny how the highest cuisine in the world is defined by a car tire manufacturer.
It's because the first people who started the Michelin star awarding came in cars so they can try out restaurants who they never been.
The cars had Michelin tyres and is sponsored by the tyre company.
It's tyres, they came up with the guide so that people would drive more miles and then need new tyres
@@dean345678 thats definitely true
Thank you for the wonderful food at the Michelin restaurant in Singapore 👍
Awesome 😎💯
Please use the spoon to eat rice, we din't use fork to scoop the rice. We use fork to poke the food.

Welcome back to Singapore Mike!🤩🤗
I swear Mike can eat a bowl of ice and figure out a way to say Umami… 😂😂😂
Mikey at a Michelin event?! Channel has come a long way!!
You gotta try some food from Geylang Bahru Blk 68 hawker centre :). Welcome back mike!
Barramundi is a Australian fish lol
That chicken is raw bro lol
It's likely smoked, makes it that colour.
Never had smoked chicken?
He didn't finish raw chicken.
Bet you like your food overcooked. lol.
barramundi is an australian aboriginal word, it means 'large scale river fish'. WELCOME BACK TO SINGAPORE!.
3:33 say what now 😂
That chicken is RAW........... I'm disappointed you didn't call it like it is on that chicken, doesn't do much for your honesty !!!!
That's what I was thinking...
Right on! Yea, but only Mickey eats the best dishes, no duds! LOL
It's not raw guys, it's because it's been brined
it's not raw. properly done chicken rice has chicken that is slightly pink
When you braised before frying, it'll be a little pink on the inside. But it's fully cooked. You can see it's white cooked not translucent meat
When you moving back to New York ! ❤
Yum! Undercooked chicken at a Michelin star....
food poisoning on a plate
its not, its cuz they use shrimp paste to marinate ( red color paste )
@@rafar.sobreira8444 ohhhh thats nice to know. my favourite type of fried chicken. need to try this now

barramundi is an australian aboriginal word, it means 'large scale river fish'
that leg looks a bit pink for me, under done. In fact all the chicken
probably brined
@@komalmononoke nope, in many places in Asia they undercook their chicken on purpose so it'll be more juicy.

It’s not underdone is all the spice that penetrated the chicken, probably marinated it in some tomato marinade
@@brozorsbut the chicken was in a marinade

Mike loves it Raw

is there a difference between a coconut shake and a coconut smoothie? 🤔
One is smoother, one is shakier
Does anyone know why Australia isn't a part of the Michelin star program as its part of the South East Asia (SEA) region
australia is under "Oceania". not part of SEA
It would have been nice to have prices for each item too.
the meal at the coconut place, what is the name of it? cuz the captions must have gotten it SO wrong
