I love how he tries normal cheap Economic rice meal that an average Singaporeans would eat almost everyday, something the majority of the tourists won't actually eat.
That's everywhere buddy it will be like that. But tourists don't have much time to do everything as they have to go back home and get on their flight.
Its not the tourist WONT eat, its that they dont have TIME for that. Idk if you ever go anywhere except your birth place. But as a tourist, they want to eat the most famous food in their holiday location because thats what the tourist do. That famous food may be an everyday local food too!
@@yoginwidhi6676 Exactly! This will be my third time visiting SG next month and I never have enough time to try everything I want. I have been making a list of stuff Mike's been trying to attempt to fit some of it in, but who knows what I'll be able to do even with 10 days this time.
He shouldn't have wasted his time with Singapore. He should come to Malaysia where the food is cheaper and taste so much better. Singapore Food is like a wierd, less good version of Malaysia Food. :)
@@schadenfreude6274 You’ve been leaving this comment everywhere. You’re so jealous lol.
There are so much more food at the 2nd Hawker Center. It is commonly known as the 'Army Market', due to the fact that on the upper floors, they sell a lot of Army related stuff.
Food wise I would recommend:
1. Chilli Noodle: A prawn soup based noodle done dry, with specially made Chilli sauce. Instead of the regular prawn soup you get a generous topping of the Chilli Sauce.
2. Xian Cao: Literally beside the prawn noodle stall, a cooling snack handmade. One of the best cooling desserts you can find.
3. Duck rice: At the basement, walk around you will find a line for Traditional Braised Duck Rice. You may wanna panic a bit if you don't see the line, it most proberably means they are sold out.
4. Beef Noodle: Amongst the myriad of Halal Muslim stalls, there a Chinese Beef noodle stall, fantastic clear soup with your choice of meats or 'spare parts'.
5. Sup Tulang: This hawker is also very famous for their Bone Marrow 'soup'. Not a lot of soup, you will get a full plate of sheep bones doused in some ungodly red sauce which makes it taste fabulous. Piece of advice, DO NOT Wear WHITE. You will get dirty.
Quite the food guide you've got there! Lets make sure Mike sees this comment!
Mike doesn't read comments LOL. He doesn't interact with his fans.
Agreeing with the chilli noodles, xian cao and sup tulang!
@@cliftonaurelius3060 aww that's sad
Mike missed his fav claypot rice at the 2nd hawker center (the place with lu rou fan)
The char kuay teow is also one of the best
Also another "chinese" mutton soup and beef soup noodle (both at L1, if the lower level is B1).
Singaporean here using your videos as a food guide. How nice
Same here. watching his videos helped me discover so many amazing places with delicious food that i never knew existed. If you like juicy and tender meat, mikey here is the guy to follow.
Mike has eaten more around Singapore in one trip than I as a Singaporean have ever done 😂
hahahah he works out really hard to be able to eat like that!!
he's eaten more in one day than I've eaten this week lol
Me too, I'm in Nor Cal, US, where are you?
Mikey fits right in to Singapore culture and food!!

Glad you're savouring all the cheap and expensive eats in Singapore and hope you make many more food memories before you leave. Again I found something I wanna eat... lu rou fan here I come!. Thanks!
Hey Mike, the first hawker center you went has a good fishball noodles that rivals the one you had in Bedok and Newton. Its called Hock Lee Fishball Noodles, only open from 6am to 9 am every wednesday to sunday. If you stay long enough hope you try it, its really good.
Yuck, never eat yellow-dyed noodles! it causes cancer!
Whats the name of hawker centrr
I moved out of Singapore during covid and back to my home country. This series of videos is making me "homesick" or "singapore-sick"...
At this point why not just move to Singapore
Fr he stayin there longer than anywhere
I thought he said he was. Right?
Because the food may be cheap but housing prices sure aren't. (I can only take the weather there in small doses myself, but to each their own.)
Family
He can’t handle the humidity. He’s only in Singapore for so long because his wife is finishing her law degree in the country.
Mike, that plate of steamed pork and veggies you had were mainly Teochew dishes. You should try exploring more of that, even though it's a relatively light palate compared to your usual salty and spicy flavours.

Sungei road laksa is my favourite! Btw we read it as “soon-ngai” :)
I’m traveling to Singapore this month, i have saved your all food suggestions from the city and gonna try it❤😂 thank you for sharing !
@@princehamdan2312hi my friend. I am commonly known as Yomama. How are you?
Enjoy your upcoming stay!
Welcome to Singapore!!! Mike (and us) have recommended the hawker centres in Chinatown many times...there are 4 hawker centres in that area so if you're having a binge day with local food (like mike) that's a great place to start!
@@MsEverAfterings thank you!
@@pineapplepetcorneats We’ll definitely check out those places. Thank you so much for suggesting. 😊
Hi Mike! Love your videos cause they are so authentic and you ate like local, foods that we normally go for everyday. Happy to have you here.

This is 'my budget' beautiful food. I would love to see more of this variety, as you said, you wouldn't be able to get to all of them in one session. There's plenty of room for more!! 🤗👍🌻
I KingGod Shawn Sang Ik Kim Aebevto Eylamp Godwhitaker has always been infinitely be the very best, the most perfect, the most powerful Master of all the Masters in Christ Jesus for God's Glory, God's Will, and God's Vengeance
I like that you feature different variety of food and different places in 1 video. Makes it more enjoying to watch. 😍

The bee Hoon combo was my lifeline when I was in school.. it was only 2.50 back then
A few nights back, I got a packet of vegetabe rice comprising of an egg tofu dish and two other veg dishes from the coffeeshop near my place for SGD2.50. I'm thankful nutritious food is still affordable in Singapore.
If you think Vegetable Rice consisting of Egg Tofu and Veg Dishes are healthy, you need to rethink your life decisions. :)
@@schadenfreude6274 nah dude you need to learn your nutrition. Or do Malaysia schools not teach you that? Lmao.
@@schadenfreude6274 you need to mind your own business.
Which shop
So glad that you enjoy Singaporean foods from all over. Enjoy and stay safe
I love how hyped you are about food! Everything looks amazing and yummy
So glad that you're enjoying your time in Singapore 🫰
One of my favorites. The aromatic coconut flavored rice and those fried vermicellis with the chicken, ham and sambal are so delicious. Salivating just looking at them. Nothing more satisfying and delicious like you said.
The 1st noodle and rice dish looked really good with the chicken.
I can’t WAIT to go! 27 days and counting. Thanks for all the amazing food recommendations!
Looks so yummy. I think I know what I wanna eat tomorrow morning. Love seeing you enjoyed every bite of Singapore food.
I have always liked Singapore. I have been there four times, and I would love to return again. I always ate in their foodcourts. So amazing!!
I hit subscribe when he described the smell if his food as jumping out and roundhouse kicking him in the face 😂💛
Singapore food culture is amazing! 🥰 Singapore is an awesome country! 😎

I've never seen anyone eat economy beehoon and make it look so good 😆
I totally agree Vivian 👍😺
Cheap eats are the best! Saves you money and having delicious food at the same time
The food looks so good. Thank you for sharing.
You can consider exploring Whampoa Food Centre, there's a lot of amazing food there. There are 2 main buildings, the first being a hawker centre thats integrated with the wet market, which serves mainly the breakfast crowd. The second consists solely of food stalls and caters more to lunch and dinner.
ban mian
Prawn noodle
Carrot cake
Lor mee
And night time will be the fish steamboat
I think whampoa market food is bad
I like Whampoa Food Centre too!!
There’s so much to love in Singapore. Thanks so much for sharing!
Moved back to Canada last year after spending four years in Singapore. Miss the hawker food so much. Ah Heng curry chicken bee hoon at the Hong Lim hawker center was my fave
Am so glad to see food content creators enjoy our local delicacies! 😊
But its all such high cholesterol and unhealthy foods. Do you Singapore people always eat like this? :)
@@schadenfreude6274 Hi, there seems to be a misconception that Singaporeans always eat like that. Some hawker food is unhealthy but so is fast food. It is not something you'd eat every meal, isn't it? There are healthier choices such as yong tau foo, fish noodles soup, mixed vegetable rice, vegetarian food, salad bar, etc. What you see in the video is something that people may wish to try when they travel here on a budget. Who wouldn't like to know that?
I KingGod Shawn Sang Ik Kim Aebevto Eylamp Godwhitaker has always been infinitely be the very best, the most perfect, the most powerful Master of all the Masters in Christ Jesus for God's Glory, God's Will, and God's Vengeance
At last you try the classic spore breakfast that isn't kaya toast, and that is economy Bee Hoon ☺️🙂
Steamed pork is just minced pork with some gelatine and salted vegetables packed into a square or whatever shape you want it to be. Pretty common in south China too although the exact method might vary
Don't China eat bats? :)
It’s Ikan bilis. Not bilis. If you ask a hawker for that they may oblige but give you a weird look.
🙄
I love it when you do local cheap eats! The fancy restaurants are nice and all but local flavor is what us most interesting! I want to travel and Singapore is in my list, I make notes and wrote down neat things
Right those places are nice for occasions but like on a day to day budget I think cheap eats is where it's at
Yha cause some people always think and i know a few that thinks the expensive it is the better not always and i do try expensive stuff and its not always good sometimes the cheap food taste better. As some cheap ones you can tell it cooks from the heart. I also think another reason is your not hurting your wallet when eating cheap food you always leave happy.
You should try SG #1 Best Hainanese Chicken Rice and one of the best fried Hokkien Mee in the basement of Golden Mile food court (they are next to each other located near the stair) Must try!~
That not 4 giant Prawn, is on 2, cut to half
You should do a video just on golden miles food centre .. lots of good stalls over the .. the chicken rice chilli mee roast duck rice clay pot rice so much to pick
Wow Mikey. You make me regret only setting aside 2 days for Singapore on my upcoming trip.
Amazing yummy food. Singapore food is considered really cheap at the hawker centres!
I can't get over his pronunciation of ikan bilis lol
The signboard literally says blue pea rice but Mike called it purple rice
After travelling abroad for a while, all I want to do is come home to our hawker centres food! Reasonably priced and our hawkers here are hardworking and fantastic. Can't find such setup anywhere else in the world😍👍👍
True. I just traveled to Japan. And food there is not good compared to Singapore. I love Singapore beehoon
You can find better food with more variety in Malaysia. The food here in Singapore is barely affordable and these hawker stalls are slowly getting closed down by the PAP because they are not generating money in comparison to modern day shopping center stalls like Wok Hey, Stuff'd, etc.
I'm single and introverted, so typically eat alone. It's nice to throw on one of these videos. Feels like I'm eating with someone that gets just as excited about food as I do.
That second noodle dish with the spam and chicken looks delicious
Uh, that's not 4 prawns. That's only two whole ones cut length wise.
What are the little crunchies called? Every meal I've seen you eat is mouth watering! 😍😍😍😍
I should frequent Hawker centres more! My food throughout the week in Singapore is just McDonald’s and instant ramen
Amass a tremendous weekend excessively! Best needs
Always love your content Mikey. Hoping I'll get to meet you someday. Watching your videos has always aspired me to get out and travel more and im going to do just that. Would love to talk sometime!
It's 2 giant prawns, not 4. The resto trick got Mikey too 😄
Please review the PF Chang's home microwave frozen dumplings next!
So many affordable foods out there at Singapore!
That looks so healthy, colorful, and delicious! 😁☺️😋😋😋
I Totally agree 👍😺
Hello Mike. Happy Friday. I can tell you love Singapore. The food is good, the ppl nice, & the prices are right.. Enjoy!!! ❤️🐞😋
Im convinced that Singapore has been your best place to eat in which case i would like to go someday.
I keep seeing him come out with Singapore content. Did Mikey just moved to Singapore?
The Sungei (su-nai) road laksa is really comforting and good
YES!! Love it! The other food at the same coffeeshop is great too!
You should go Ayer Rajah food centre, has many varieties of food stall there too.
All of those look really good Especially the noodles
Oh, that looks like Albert Street Hawker Centre…. Missed the rojak and the braised duck stall at the last row facing Bugis market…. The food is nice, just remember to avoid the franchises…. The congee and mutton soup is awesome.
Great looking economical food.
This is great. Thank you
Totally agree Ahmed 🙏😺
Love your videos! Thanks Mikey!!
Mike missed his fav claypot rice at the 2nd hawker center (the place with lu rou fan)
4:52 thats nasi lemak! mouth watering !
Did you hit up the ATM between stalls? All that looks amazing, as usual, and even with tropical weather added into the equation? Something tells me I will love it in Singapore if ever I get to go there. Heck, I lived in Houston for ten years, I can handle humidity if I absolutely must.
This is a good food. I like it. I will try to cook this food for my parents and share for my friends. Because I am cooking the food in Cambodia 🇰🇭
Singapore is BEST PLACE TO RETIRE ❤👍🏻
I love you, Mike!
I’ve had this kind of steam pork mixed with eggs growing up in Shanghai, never found it anywhere else.
Wow how long is your trip to Singapore this time😮
you make me wanna travel the world just for the food 😭
Singapore here we come!! lol
im excited to go to singapore it will be my first time with my family 😃
Great Food Places at such Prices in a Place like Singapore !!
Hi mike, you can try out the curry fish head (hong guan cooked food)and sambal stingray(BBQ SEAFOOD)(evening) from Taman jurong food center. Also you must also try fengzhen lor mee(afternoon) and tian lai rice stall (morning)
HMU to know more about the food there!
Oh yes Taman jurong ngoh hiang, fish soup and their chili
love taman jurong!
Man, Singapore just have endless food, pretty much agree with Mikey's first comment in the video haha. Thanks for another great video!
Looks so delicious! Everything...👍😋😊👏
Singapore welcomes you
4:42 that's got to be Ma Ling lol, love that one
Omg soi Aroy!!! Would eat there for lunch when i was a student (the school right beside the mall)
How come Mike never try the Kuey chap at the hawker at queen street hawker
I just tried the Takagi Ramen spiciest Ramen and since you like spicy foods, you will love it. 😁
Great, as usual
my dream is to go there and try all the good food shown in this video and other videos :)
This is the first time I've seen Mike Chen eat a small bowl of anything!
Love you videos would love to tag along with you some day and try everything you do
the lu rou fan in sg is good but the taiwan one is just so much better idk why
The best noodle place in Singapore for me is
Toa Payoh block 73
Lao Heng noodles.
Vineagary Spivey flavourful amazing
I kinda respect Mikey’s stomach..like how can you eat more than one rice & noodle dishes in one day 😭
His appetite is out of the regular
Just arrived in Singapore tonight.
Have fun!
Welcome to Singapore. You can go to Orchard Road. There is a Tourist Promotion Board Booth. You can find many information there. Just ask around, you can be directed to plentiful good and tasty food. Good Luck and Enjoy your stay in Singapore :D Even at hotel reception, just ask, warm Singaporeans will be more than happy to assist you .
Our boy Mike over there eating like a King! lol
Mike should learn how to use the Singaporean adjective to describe the amazing deliciousness of each food item he tasted. The word is SHIOK! So SHIOK man.
Have you ever been to Wenzhou? Really nice food there!
Give you 2 thumbs up! You just shown those who likes to label Singapore with the word "expensive" that you find cheap and good stuff especially foods if you do enough research. Touristy places regardless of countries will always be made expensive but if one is smart enough to do enough of research, you get "Strictly Dumpling", smart tourist.
If you have the chance again, the best Laksa IMO is 928 Yishun Laksa, that Laksa is spicy with thick laksa broth, stir in some of their signature homemade sambal, you won't be able to forget the taste after you try it.
Our local food here are cheap n nice. U can find all kind of food here. Japanese food, western food, Korean food, malay food Indian food,Thai food, Philippines food n lots of Chinese food. 😋🍲🍱🍣🍝🍜🌯🥞🍔🍛Enjoy your food here🙏
