There are so much more food at the 2nd Hawker Center. It is commonly known as the 'Army Market', due to the fact that on the upper floors, they sell a lot of Army related stuff. Food wise I would recommend: 1. Chilli Noodle: A prawn soup based noodle done dry, with specially made Chilli sauce. Instead of the regular prawn soup you get a generous topping of the Chilli Sauce. 2. Xian Cao: Literally beside the prawn noodle stall, a cooling snack handmade. One of the best cooling desserts you can find. 3. Duck rice: At the basement, walk around you will find a line for Traditional Braised Duck Rice. You may wanna panic a bit if you don't see the line, it most proberably means they are sold out. 4. Beef Noodle: Amongst the myriad of Halal Muslim stalls, there a Chinese Beef noodle stall, fantastic clear soup with your choice of meats or 'spare parts'. 5. Sup Tulang: This hawker is also very famous for their Bone Marrow 'soup'. Not a lot of soup, you will get a full plate of sheep bones doused in some ungodly red sauce which makes it taste fabulous. Piece of advice, DO NOT Wear WHITE. You will get dirty.
Mike missed his fav claypot rice at the 2nd hawker center (the place with lu rou fan) The char kuay teow is also one of the best Also another "chinese" mutton soup and beef soup noodle (both at L1, if the lower level is B1).
I love how he tries normal cheap Economic rice meal that an average Singaporeans would eat almost everyday, something the majority of the tourists won't actually eat.
Its not the tourist WONT eat, its that they dont have TIME for that. Idk if you ever go anywhere except your birth place. But as a tourist, they want to eat the most famous food in their holiday location because thats what the tourist do. That famous food may be an everyday local food too!
