Not sure we watched the same series... Don't remember a huge fire in the centre of the store, but do remember a large sweeping staircase and a life (elevator).
He did note he took some creative license and the elevator omission was part of that. The fastnacht burning man was there to represent their promotional display.
I haven't heard of this show either but British humor is pretty hilarious and it's an interesting concept for a base. Well played!
