Pro tip, first floor, empty square room on the right (with a broken wall) - you can actually fit Vault 2x2 room in there perfectly with a functioning Vault door. I think of it as a panic room for railroad people.

I am a recent subscriber; I went a more tradition route and rebuilt the interior floor by floor with warehouse floors and barn walls on interior and exterior. I used a concrete pillar and slid the entire thing in the building. I love this though, well done. Hint for anyone who wants to remove the bodies and doesn't have mods. Carry them to another zone, Kingsport, Coastal Cottage, Greentop Nursery. Walk back to Croup and stay near were you removed the body, for several game days. It takes patience, but they won't respawn. Don't take them all to the same place, that sometimes causes a respawn. Also, the ghoul hanging through the rafters can be lifted straight up and carried away. I hope this helps anyone having issues. A tip for budget, if you drop weapons that are heavily modified, they reduce the budget by much more than the basic versions. So keep around some weapons that have scope, receiver, barrel, and other mods on them for the best bang for you settlement budget reductions.

As always, this was a very thoughtful and creative build. I never thought about using Croup as a Minuteman training outpost, but it actually makes a ton of sense given its isolated location: minimal fortification, a single large building, self-contained food source, etc. It sort of lends itself to a support role, as opposed to something like Coastal Cottage, which I usually make a sort of forward base for potential Northeastern threats. I'd be interested to see what you'd do with something unique like Kingsport, (or a real pain in the ass like Sunshine Tidings or Somerville Place,) but I'll be looking forward to your next settlement video wherever it might turn out to be.

That's a pretty neat house. I don't have the patience building much beyond the pure need, not even in my current playthrough where I'm going for the minute man ending and want to turn the commonwealth into a minutman empire. But I'm always fascinated at what others are able to create with the unmodded game, absolutely spectacular!
Btw, I always called it a mud-fruit too. I've heard it called a mute-fruit, sure, and haven't thourght more about it. But I have always called it a mud-fruit, and that's what I'm going to keep calling it. People want to say mute-fruit, they ca, I'm not going to 'correct' them. People get angry or spend energy on wanting to correct me because I sat mud-fruit - I just cannot be bothered.

If you get a mat, and put half of it over another then pillar glitch into the bath, then do the same pillar glitch with food makes a settlement feel more “natural” I feel over the planters. I love watching how people solve problems and their different solutions, really cool. I Love the greenhouse on top, it makes sense as you say with the sunlight, and as heat goes up, any heating done in the house will collect up there instead of escaping out making it heating more efficient. I imagine its a hangout spot too for some settlers to come enjoy the view, heath and plant life.
But, if I may give constructive criticism, one thing that these kind of videos often fail considering is how you would actually fortify a place according to the lay of the land. You would never build a wall going around and to the house like you did when you sheer cliff walls on three sides, you would focus on simply blocking of the open side. Nature already provided you with walls on 4 sides, why build worse walls away fro the edge that would allow raiders a path around the wall so they can attack from any side? No, if you had a surplus and really wanted a wall all around you would build it along the cliff edge, so the walls extends the natural walls of the cliff edge. But the primary effort would be on building solid walls on the open side where the fence already where.
It kinda break the suspension of disbelief seeing builds like this where its like the settlers where idiots when it came to effectively building defenses when it realistically would be one of their primary concerns and something they would take great care with. Imagine Helms Deep but instead of a wall between the two cliff edges they build a standard castle with walls all around and the orcs could walk around the whole thing. Consider the strategic and tactical situation of being attacked and how to most efficiently build defenses!

Great job especially without mods and didn't know about that glitch to get the settlement budget to reset sorta....but I just use mods. Place Everywhere is a must have so no need for the post, and so many nice mods that can help build up a place and get rid of the rubble...cuz come on, in the real world someone pushing a broom can't seem to get the rubble off the floor, we know that would be the first to get picked up because seems there's some wood boards that could be repurposed and in a realistic world people wouldn't leave dirt and rubble laying around if they are going to fix a place up. Yeah, it's just a game and this is how you must do when building without mods....and I love building in here and fixing up the commonwealth. Cool to know how to do this without mods for those that don't or can't have mods.

New sub here 👋 I've racked up over 5k hours since release across 3 platforms (one of my 'comfort games') 😅 and your builds remind me of NoRespawns, one of the OG FO4 builders!
Never really bothered with Croup Manor, but am wanting to do another Kaylee Frye (Firefly ❤) mechanic RP and the glass rooftop area would make a fantastic workshop for her! 😊🔨🔧

His builds do bring back that nostalgic feeling of the early days of norespawns.

I like Croup Manor myself, holes be dammed. I usually just put in floor pieces and use Wood Misc to make 'fencing' to guide the NPC guards to their post. The devs should have included the basement in workshop mode. I recently deleted an L35 character to begin anew but I forgot exactly why I did that. I'm going to reference this video whenever I get around to playing again. The new d character is getting restarted as I scrapped Trifold flags, and I'm going to do what you do; keep the original stuff when possible.

While it has the potential, the pathways for settlers is horr8ble here and at night when they’re supposed to sleep, none of them know where the beds are inside the house so they stand around doing nothing. Also, the ghouls already about and dead will always respawn back where they were so closing floor holes where one hangs will glitch through it. But the build is neat in this video.
