- Here are Ray and Kent again with another Special Investigation, using all the available information to draw reasonable conclusions about what it means to not believe in their specific deity. (Read on...)

Months and months ago I read on Pharyngula a letter sent to the editor of a newspaper that read almost verbatim to Ray and Kent's conversation here. It was stunning that even if it's only the hardest-core fundamentalists, that anyone can presume that they know anything about a person simply by their lack of belief in something that is so devoid of supporting evidence. In fact, in making this one I based the early script around that letter and let it build up from there.
I lost the url, but kind user CousinoMacul sent me the link. Here's the inspiration:

We can all empathize. Great examples. Every atheist has heard these arguments and quietly faceplamed, Picard style.
Oh hey, it's DarkMatter2525 from 10 years ago
How old are you now?
@@braindeveloperdimensional5579 -- old enough to still be making great videos! How cool is that?
Yeah. I've heard this specific argument many many times. Also the I secretly believe but don't want to admit it.
I pretty much watched all the dark matter videos. 😇 probably why UA-cam brought me here. The algorithm!
I still go through my OLD videos fearing that I'll see a spelling mistake!

If the only reason for someone not to go on a killing spree is the fear of hell, then that person has no morals. Someone who has morals just doesn't want to do that in the first place.
Are you saying that there is another reason not to go on a killing spree?
Because God seems to enjoy it, but I don't want to get in trouble.
Horatio Trismegistus In every religion the god should be a role model so if your god kills a ton of non believers do the same because that's what he wants and you don't want to suffer for eternity right?
BobwithGlasses Boo-ya! Indeed, if God is not a good role model, then we might have a problem....so, I guess that means sneaking into a town at night to kill kids is OK.
Horatio Trismegistus As long as a single person from the town has refused to obey you, yes.
If you really want to tread in the footsteps of Yahweh, you should mind control that person into disobedience first.
tahi laci Good idea! If I harden their heart, then I know for sure I'll have an excuse to kill them! Beautiful. Just like YHWH would do.
Jesus was a hippy and a Buddhist anyway.
Plot twist
The guy on the street just believes in a different god
Rush Hammer
GODZILLA, that is.
By his first question, I think that that might even have been what NonStampCollector was trying to say
Technically no religious person believes in the same god, even in the same religion. Someone once said, "god is a reflection of ones self."
I’ve asked a few of my religious friends how they make sure everyone believes the same thing so they can all get into heaven and they’ve all said how everyone just believes whatever they want. Why even have an organization if you just interpret it to be whatever you want anyways?
@@raspiankiado4658 That Was: 'DarkMatter2525,' Right? ;)
When I was a kid, my pastor told me that non-believers were incomplete people who needed God to be a complete person. My mom tells me that non-believers are "cold" and "empty". I wonder how she'd describe me if she knew I was an atheist.
I was told by my mom more than once she'll keep praying for me to not burn in hell. It's like I'm not afraid of going to the imagined world of Narnia through a closet either when I'm dead.
Cognitive dissonance would likely ensure in her. She'd be conflicted.
You might want to pack a suit case if your telling them.
I’m guessing you guys are all American, crazy country, I think my mum would laugh at me if I said I believed this bull
Iceni could be from anywhere in India and or any prominently Arabic country
What's funny, is no Christian knows where God came from, and they still use that argument XD
Uhh uhh he is eternal, so he has spent and infinite amount of time standing around in nothingness, which has some water in it.
No, unless "still nothingness" is a term, water exists and has matter, so it is not a lack of matter.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, with these crazy evangelists running around, you don't know who's serious or not.
Sorry, but what the fucc?
You see, if god couldn’t be there from the beginning, then how come the particles that created space could?
"Imagine not knowing everything there is to know about the origin of the universe!"
Amazing video.
"and they act so know it all"
Next special investigation: Is God going to change his mind about gay people the way he did about black people? We ask local mormons for answers.
Unbelievably (or maybe not), coming across this comment two years later [Spring 2019], a report in last week's news indicates that this has in fact (at least started to) come to pass!
@@danielbaig Any updates on that?
So there is a lady that studies ants in South America somewhere and these colonies are huge. 4 or 5 million ants and thousands of species. We know nearly nothing about most of them. She has been tracking them to see what they do etc and made a stunning discovery. Within this colony about 5-10%of the ants are thieves. It's their job to go raid other colonies and steal food, that's all those ones do. apparently they smell just enough like the targeted colony and their own to be able to sneak in. usually anyways. however, they behave in a very interesting way, if they have stolen food they are likely to freeze if around other ants. they movethe a sneaky way like they know stealing is bad. Sometimes they get caught, and if they do they simply drop the food. ask the other ants fight to keep food they got "honestly". When caught stealing, they give up, drop the loot and don't struggle as they are carried away from the colony by soldier ants. They are then released, unharmed and go home. The next day they go to work as usual. She called the behavior sneaky, and they act guilty. The soldiers showed mercy, and had seen the same soldiers kill if faced with resistance or aggression. They are making moral decisions , give up I'll let you live. fight me and you die.
It's not known how many kinds of ants do this sort of thing, this was only one colony that she observed.
there were no signs of religion or prayer seen.
hmmmmm...
www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/thieving-ants-act-guilty-after-their-heists
Perhaps the ants prayed "in their closets" and did not pray in the marketplace, because then they would already have their reward?
Arguably, the ants didn't fight because that would have just invited the other side to fight back, which could result in otherwise avoidable injuries and deaths when just giving up the stolen food/letting the thief go after they gave up the stolen food is a no harm-no foul situation for both sides, in that moment rather than any sort of particular moral framework.
If the defending ants were able to think ahead, they may have been willing to use their local numbers advantage to try and use more lethal force to prevent more or their food from being successfully stolen at a later date, but ants aren't generally known for their long term legal or economic policies.
You are confusing acts of survival with acts of morality. Simple as that.
That's not guilt. Just responses more likely to end up in survival.
Clearly, they worship an anty Christ.

Lol! But, boo.
Basically the entire religious rights views on atheist's in a nutshell keep up the good work.

I don’t care if I’m 11 years late- I’m glad I found you!
I have been binge watching your videos today. I think my favorite aspect of all of them is the jovial logic being communicated, even when pointing out the heinous circumstances of humanity being brought to life. It's odd how a spoonful of sugar really helps the medicine go down.
I enjoy these atheistic videos. I'm a deist, but the way I see it, the practical implications of atheism and deism are the same. We both seek reason and the rejection of religion. So to my atheist brethren I say greetings.
Although I do not agree with your conclusion about the existence of a supreme invisible being whom started the universe, I appreciate that you do not have the agenda to force your beliefs and practices on others and probably hold yourself responsible for your own evil and good acts ;b
CabbageFoot16 Recently became (or realized that I always was) a deist.
I wouldn't say I believe in some supreme invisible being, but some non-linear beginning. I don't think traditional science will ever be able to determine a natural beginning. We may be able to determine what happened after the beginning, because now there is something, or what was before, because there must have been nothing at some point, but the process in between is out of our reach in a sense. I'm inclined to believe there was a creator, whether that be an initiator of some kind or a loop such as the infinite universe theory. Life on earth's beginning is easy enough to determine, but the idea of the universe coming into existence makes me want to do hard drugs and trip balls.
Treytheredrebel Many people have in the past and will continue to underestimate scientific progress, and the god of the gaps gets continually pushed back. I respect your view. It has has a sliver of a chance of being right. But because your god is not a personal god that dictates how we need to live our lives or else eternal punishment then the question of whether he exists or not is pointless given that there is zero evidence for his existence. I would rather focus on useful theories and validate or discredit them. I have absolutely no problem with the feeling that a deistic god might exist as long as you don't try to dictate how other people behave based off this idea. Sometimes I think that I can fly if I will myself to do it, but never enough to live test it by jumping off a building.
any belief which accepts humans are not the center of attention of a god and that this god does not interrupt the natural order (miracles) is hardy irrational - it seems the more absurd something religious is, the more its followers try and force it down our throats - insecurity much?
Deism is self-refuting. Belief in a god that created the universe then stopped interacting with it immediately after? By definition, there is no evidence for such a thing if it never interacts...
Theism: This is immoral because the Bible/Quran says so.
Atheism: This is immoral because it's hurting the well-being of others.
One of them welcomes you to question their reasoning and are willing to broaden their views and expand them if you present valid arguments, whereas the other calls you a blasphemer if you dare question it their appeal to an invisible, unproven authority. You guess which one is which.
@Hishām Mālik I see you on apostate comments too. So by your own logic, you're an islamophobe as well :/
I'm more interested to know which side of the war collected stamps, and which one didn't.
Knowing that will give me a clear insight into the moral character of people who do and don't collect stamps, and I can then use that knowledge to win every single argument with stamp collectors.
Also, which side of the war had the more moustaches?
Which side had longer hair? That would tell us a lot.
Which side spoke mainly English? Hmmm!! The axis were mainly non-English speakers! That proves... umm...
how can anybody be nice to other human beings if not out of fear from everlasting suffering in hell
Truly hilarious! Thank you Nonstampcollector for the great content and putting some humor in such a difficult problem
.
Whenever Christians ask me the question that if I'm an Atheist then where do I get my morals or do I have morals in the first place? I always tell them that I have conscience and also as a human being who goes through pain I don't want to inflict harm on others because I know what suffering feels like and I really just want to do my best to become a decent human being. I don't know what exactly I said wrong but they always disprove my answers.
I always say something along the lines of - because having a sense of morality is a useful trait for the continued survival of a social species such as ourselves.
In the end, it all boils down to natural selection
You've created the highest quality satire. Thank you and bravo!
these videos are funny, but make me sad because there are so many people just like these 2.

Omg Stampy, this has to be my favorite so far. Keep it going man.
'The bush burning, pestilence inflicting iron age god of Palestine'... genius
Been a fan for a long time ... This might be your best video yet. At least it hit home with me because I deal with these kind of people every day.
WELL DONE!
Are there ever going to be more of your outstanding videos? Or do you have another channel with more of this kind of content? Your satire, sarcasm and sense of irony are so deeply enmeshed that I pick up something new each time I watch them again. The fact that most of what you've produced is directly from the scriptures is excellently clever & unassailable. Thank you! and I am hoping for more from you, some day, maybe?
Every single time I watch one of these videos, in between my laughter, and appreciative recognition of things I've long been saying to myself (and occasionally sympathetic others), I find myself thinking, "Okay, THIS one is his best one yet. They're ALL great, but even so, having now seen this one, I'm forced to admit that IT is truly the best one yet!" And then I watch the next one, and I have that same reaction!
But right now, honestly, truly, I swear, I think that this one just may be my favorite one yet!
( At least, until I watch the next one . . .)

The World Mission Society Church of God does this very thing!
They take a few sentences sometimes just several words and come up with insane conclusions about that person and his/her beliefs. Then they make UA-cam videos, blogs, or talk about it amongst themselves not giving the victim a chance to defend his/herself or to correct their ridiculous claims.
Psycho cult..

Your videos are so spot on. And often hilarious. You, sir, rock!
Awesome! I love all of your videos so far.
As a Christian, this is incredibly funny and true about a lot of Christianity today. There is a lot of hypocrisy in the church. I just wanna say I don’t hold the same thoughts about atheists as them. I try my best to be intellectually honest and there are many Christians that do that as well. Christians like this shouldn’t define what Christianity it.
wow, a Christian that agrees Christianity is very hypocritical, but do they agree slavery is bad?
@@stika1055 I wouldn't say Christianity, as in the religion, is very hypocritical, but Christians and churches can be/are.
What do you define as slavery?
@@hgbitner8486 Slavery and enslavement are both the state and the condition of being a slave, who is someone forbidden to quit their service for another person and is treated like property. Slavery relies heavily on the enslaved person being intimidated either by the threat of violence or some other method of abuse.
