+Jordon Brewer Check out Megan Kelly, not the journalist and you will want to put you head in a mechanical press. You could SERIOUSLY parrot her argument with Richard Dawkins with this guy to a T
I agree with you, and I'm a Catholic! A CATHOLIC!!! Science isn't against religion, it's against direct creationism! Why are so many Catholics fooled by the Catholic Church?!
Yea! Reminds me of this: "Discussing evolution with a creationist is like playing chess with a pigeon. It knocks the pieces over, shits on the board and then flies back to its flock to claim victory"
+TheRelihunter because there god is illusionary. It's called the god delusion. Why are people deluded, cause they probably think they want to be, comfortably numb.
You cannot argue with evolutionists.According to them things naturally become more complex without intervention. The natural tendency is for things to proceed from complexity to disorder.
+James haury Who said "without intervention?" Ever notice that great big nuclear-powered bright light in the sky continually bathing the Earth in "intervening" energy? Are you literally blind?
James haury You do realize that the first life was nothing more than self replicating RNA that wouldn't decay in the sun. I also hope you realize that many bacteria work similarly to plants in that they use photosynthesis. The argument from completely is pointless. If you want someone that can better describe why then search counter arguments for the watchmakers fallacy.
Isn't it depressing that this video is 13 years old and yet we still hear exactly the same arguments from creationists today despite them being corrected thousands of times.
Yes it is. They have a new weapon in their armoury these days, which is that adaptation is real but evolution isn't. What they don't have is an explanation of how animals "adapt" if it isn't at the genetic level. Do they just _decide_ to grow tails or wings? And, of course, once forced to accept how silly that idea is, they claim adaptation is also at the gene level. In which case, I argue, it's evolution. Their tactic is then usually to tell me I'll find out the truth on Judgment Day.
@@joshuakohlmann9731 That seems like a ridiculous argument they make. Surely evolution and adaptation are exactly the same thing. Animals 'adapt' to a change in their environment so as to be better suited to the new situation. It is the environment that forces adaptation. That is indistinguishable from evolution.
It's because their defining trait, IMO, is their dishonesty and disingenuousness. They make no attempt to find out the science. If told the science, they go out of their way to conceal it or misrepresent it. They have absolutely no interest in finding out what is true, only in presenting their belief system as the Truth with a capital T. Apologists disgust me.
@@joshuakohlmann9731They also trot out Lamarckian “evolution” which as the Soviets studied was Lysenkoism. Stalin believed it; who disagreed? That dead hoarse was beaten into a meringue some fifty years ago, but has returned like mad cow disease in the YEC MANIFESTO.
Wait... "realistic"? Meaning it wasn't actually real but just made to look that way? I was convinced this was an actual, totally-accurate representation of an actual discussion that occurred between a creationist and an evolutionary biologist. _bamboozled again_
You know I still suffer from a lot of psychological manipulation and guilt from being raised a Christian and leaving it for lack of evidence but this channel helps me feel so much more confident and clears my mind
It goes away with time. I went into a weird depression as my world view was ripped out from under me. I desperately looked for answers in other religions, concluded that there must be a true religion that they're all pointing to. Believed some outlandish and crazy things (flat earth being one, despite being top at all scientific disciplines in school). Then just came to the realization I've created all these world views on the back of 0 evidence, I was actually willing to live my entire life shackled to beliefs that I had 0% chance of proving were true. Your logical mind will kick in like a "Eureka" moment, believe me. The guilt just kinda disappears and may only pop up in the short time after when it comes to taboo subjects in religion like demons, the devil, hell, and other stuff like that.
I'm exactly the same. To have lived my life for 25 years knowing that I'd live again after I died only to learn that was all a lie can cause PTSD-like symptoms. I just try to appreciate this tiny blip in time that is my life now.
Folks don't like the truth, and they constantly claim evolution supporters are arrogant and insult them for calling them out on their false claims and general ignorance of the theory. They really think that they have a right to argue against it without even knowing the basic fundamentals of how it works. They are obviously blinded by faith do to indoctrination of poor kids that don't know any better, yet are home schooled and subjects like science are disregarded in favor of bible studies. Stop corrupting the youth with lies!
I used to be a young earth creationist, I would say that transitional fossils didn't exist. That there is no way we evolved from monkeys, etc. Then I debated someone who actually had the names and pictures of some of these transitional fossils. I was stunned. He then told me just to go into the Museum, sure enough when it was a free day we went and I saw some in person. That was the day my thoughts on my religion were seriously challenged and my journey to Atheism began.
Good for you man. It's a scary thing to have your worldview challenged on that scale, and a good number of people in your position might have just cut off contact with that person and buried their head in the sand.
Most of this video made me want to kill a cartoon character, until 7:57 "Do I need to teach you what a theory is??" "No, I'm not interested." That basically sums it up. LOL
*Theist:* "Why do you believe god doesn't exist?" *Atheist:* "We're not claiming to know that god doesn't exist. Atheism is simply the rejection of of a belief in god, because we haven't found any evidence that convinces us a god exists. Does that help you understand where we're coming from better?" *Theist:* "Yeah, I understand. But...what exactly makes you believe there's no god?" *Atheist:* 😑😒
I can see evolution in quite a lot of places. For example, christianity has evolved from judawordinsertedism. It probably started as a small group with some master leader. Once the master leader died, the disciples took over and became leaders and at some point, they disagreed with each other and split into separate groups and they split some more over time and now, there are 47,000 sects. In fact, the bible itself gives as indication that right from the beginning, there were arguments among them and they had split. Look at Paul's letters. Look at Revelation. All religions split. The more time passes, the more stress there is inside a group, the more split happens. Mormonism is pretty (~1830) new and it has at least 4 sects. Scientology (~1940) has at least 2 sects.
I would have replied that we are transitional forms. Just that modern humans have made such huge medical advances to reduce mass extinction events. But it could still happen.
@@MidlifeCrisis82 Well what else is funny is that there really are thousands of transitional fossils… just for other species. I understand that the debaters in this video are caricatures of common misinterpretations, so pointing out what’s wrong with their rhetoric is *literally the point of the video*, but man it annoys me to no extent when people who don’t understand the theory of evolution say that if there’s some missing link between humans and apes that it would prove evolution. Like there are in fact transitional fossils between, for instance, species of whale ancestors. That alone would prove evolution as a possibility if they were actually in the pursuit of knowledge instead of in the pursuit of justifying their own insecurities.
@@coltonbates629For some animals, like cats and snakes, there haven't been much fossil finds. However, there are fossils. I have seen a few snake fossils, I think it was from 140 million y ago. They had hind legs. We can’t expect the fossil record to be perfect. As for humans, there are enough fossils to tell the story. Biological evolution is pretty much a certainty even though in science, we never declare to be 100% certain of anything. Of course, you can explain such things, give links and so on to the creationist but don’t expect them to change their minds right away. They view the conversation as a debate. They want to see one thing radically change into something else in front of them.
Biblical and other " holy " books have some stories to be morals , as the "he whom is without sin..." But the only way to determine these is arbitrary choices. So arguing other stories from any holy book can be stopped by any believer so it is potinless.
Holy does exsist Its a word. I put it in quotations to show they are named by the followers as holy but i do not believe that. I wastrying to put the poitn as some stories in the book are not true because god would never kill first born children for no good reason Or destory a village Or tell a man to kill his son Its just morals, right?
Barcs Spirituality is growing very quickly. I keep meeting people who believe in every made-up thing BUT Christianity. They read their horoscopes through crystals while doing yoga and breathing smoke from aromatherapy candles.
As a kid I was surrounded by Christians who would heap praise on me when I did Christian-ish things. My mother, all her friends, everyone I knew who ever said or did anything nice for me did it because I ticked the right boxes. Bible study. Speaking in tongues. Trying to convert the kids at school. And... being a damn-near militant young-Earth creationist. Using all these talking points. Making a complete ass of myself at every opportunity. High school assignments on Evolution in biology class were almost a copy-paste of this video, but with a bunch of totally unrelated stuff (equally incorrect) about geology, cosmology, physics... I heard evolution and I heard "you must defend every piece of tripe you've been told to believe". And I thought I was winning. I thought my bogus factoids were gotchas, because all the other Christians told me they were gotchas. The DARWINISTS cant POSSIBLY respond to this!. In reality, I was leaving everyone speechless because there was simply no rationality in my argument, so there could be no counter-argument. I might as well have suggested that the sky was made of peanut butter. And when I did this stuff... I was rewarded. I was held up as some kind of moral exemplar by the increasingly irrelevant religious nutters I was surrounded by. And when a kid is only rewarded for being stupid, he will learn to be stupid habitually. I became a high-school dropout and did nothing useful with my life for a decade. Now, somehow, I have broken free from religion and superstition, and I went back to finish high school, and then to university. I am a physicist now. I am a naturalist, the exact opposite of what they raised me to be - but although I escaped it in the end, I can confidently say my entire life was set back at least 10 years. And not just set back - wasted in the most shameful, disgusting way possible. It was taken away from me, and I was turned into an unthinking little weasel. I was trained not to use my brain. To believe, believe, believe, believe. Never to think. I am so goddamned ashamed. I want my childhood back.
I'm so proud of you even though I don't know you. Your self-propelled transformation is AMAZING and extraordinary. Your past wasn't your fault of course (and there's no way you deserve to feel ashamed) but you wouldn't be the person you are without that experience. There are kids all over the place going through what you did. I hope they can go through the same transformation. You give hope.

since there’s no way to get your childhood back, all you can do is to look towards the future, to be proud over managing to crawl out of that system despite all the effort that was put in to keep you trapped, and to be the best you that you can be. being successful and happy is the ultimate revenge, for whatever your own definition of success is
Silly christians. Everyone knows that 747's come from thunderstorms - not tornadoes. Tornadoes only produce cars and houses. Avalanches make snowmobiles. And hurricanes make boats and ships, while tsunamis make submarines. Seriously, I don't know how people get this stuff confused. Have you ever seen a submarine flying inside a thunderstorm? All you have to do is watch disaster videos in reverse to see the evidence. Ffs... do your homework people.
this is reminiscent of about almost every creationist vs. science debate I have ever seen and every UA-cam comment discussion about it. They keep repeating the same talking points and just show how little they understand about biology.
haiggoh Sometimes, the repetition gets to me. Most of the times though, I have but to remind myself that the more exposure we grant to reality, the better the odds of those in need of freeing have of seeing that one bit of information that gives them a boost over the fence. They may be few, but there are indeed those out there that stand a chance to be cleansed from the filth of religious dogma.
Just watched it. I think you're right. Wendy: There is no evidence showing the evolution of one species into another Dawkins : But there is. Ctrl-c Ctrl-v
What are the other laws of thermodynamics? Do you even know what they're called? How about the details on the second? In my experience only 1 creationist had the slightest idea what the second law of thermodynamics even states, and even he tried then to argue that the Earth was a closed system, something that's demonstrably false.
I once discussed a creationist who was absolutely convinced of the idea that evolution breaks the second law of thermodynamics over more than 50 comments in the same thread. It went on for days it was like talking to a wall. What they fail to see is that creation pretty much breaks the first. Well any everything else we know in physics and chemistry. Doesn't seem to bother them.
haiggoh Ask them what the second law actually states, and how it relates to the other laws. Ask them what the other laws are. Really all you need is a basic familiarity with them to understand how stupid using the second law of thermodynamics to argue a creationist case is. Not one creationist I've asked could even list the other laws without time to go research them, which was bad enough, but they didn't even know what the second law said. Mostly they're just parroting what they read on the AiG website.
Oh my god! This is supposed to be parody but I ACTUALLY had a conversations exactly like this, the monkey thing, the "you called it a theory" omg i wanna kill myself T-T where is the world going
That's what a parody is. The 3 guys off top gear, (grand tour) is a good example of one becoming a parody of one's self. That is what these extremist creationists are, a big parody of them selves. If was try to write it, and make them look worse, you couldn't. That's the sadness of this. The joke is its an every day argument, you can search for on yt and find millions of religious BS videos.
Anyone who has ever watched a creationist video (e.g. here on UA-cam), especially some of the stuff that Ray Comfort puts out, you'd know that this parody video is actually a *VERY* accurate representation of how these people try to discredit biologists. Creationists (the "teaching" kind, not necessarily their followers) are deliberately misleading, manipulative and ignorant and make shitloads of money from that. I congratulate any fundamentally raised Christian who realizes that, may it be on their own, or by being inspired by a video like this. Stop falling for those charlatans, Christians.
Unfortunately there are people who take the opposite road. Those who were not raised with creationism but decided to start believing in it in later life and then build this big confirmation bias and quote mining pool around them, are just as tedious to discuss as their leaders themselves. They roboticly repeat the same stupid talking points over and over again.
haiggoh Right, exactly. It's like you're talking to robots, continually spouting the debunked ideas they hear from their apologists. I personally believe that the main issue lies with the fact that many believers view scientists and critical thinkers as 'corrupted'. They believe we have been 'indoctrinated' by the 'wicked' ways of the world. They naturally then adopt a thought process which encourages them to be wary of scientific facts which clearly conflict with their world view. I, when identifying myself as a believer in the past, believed that atheists had hearts that had been hardened and could not 'understand the things of god'. It takes a lot of de-traumatisation to recover from those thought patterns. I believe however, if I of all people got to this stage, most people could too.
Sammy Puro which is of course ironic, because they are the ones who have actually been indoctrinated to believe everyone else is indoctrinated and they somehow are in possession of the one and only truth. How did you recover from those thought-patterns after all? After speaking to some creationists it seems like it's impossible to escape. They just outright dismissed every evidence I presented to them an would say stuff like "DNA proves creationism" without further elaborating why it would when I had just demonstrated it actually proves common descend. You know these type of arguments. What made you change your mind eventually? Was it the sum of people disagreeing with you over time or was is one specific argument presented to you at the right time in your life?
haiggoh Yes, well there was a culmination of ideas that got me initially thinking about the doctrine I believed. The main step in de-converting a fundamentalist (creationist) is to get them to understand that Yahweh - God of the bible is an invention. This is not an opinion. Not an interpretation by a few people. This is *fact*. Archaeological evidence clearly demonstrates the polytheistic nature of the earliest Jews. Yahweh was just ONE among many other Gods that the Jews worshiped. Bible scholars and well informed honest christians acknowledge this. -----> www.huffingtonpost.com/valerie-tarico/polytheism-and-human-sacr_b_777340.html What saddens me is that most christians will never get the opportunity to see these facts right there in their face. I've got much more to tell you, but I have a lecture now. As soon as I'm out I'll continue :)
It's funny and depressing how accurately this portrays creationists. I remember once mentioning to a fellow I was speaking with how I was fascinated by how I found out recently that birds are in fact a stem group of therapod dinosaurs, and he goes "well there aren't any transitional fossils". I was just speechless.
I used to be a Christian and can confirm I was brought up thinking that everything the creationist argued was fact and true. I am disgusted that I used to think like that. Real people think like the creationist....and that’s scary
I’ve suddenly had lots of NonStampCollector videos pop up in my recommendations. It’s been a fantastic blast from the past! Thanks NSC, hope you make lots more videos like this in the future ✌️🇦🇺🙃
sclinge1 I have been in a situation where the guy claimed that he isn't part of any religion and he just simply believes in a god and the reason he contact me was to prove to him that a god doesn't exist. He wouldn't even define his god. After long messages back and forth, it became clear he was a creationist. I had also destroyed his arguments and his final response was an idiotic 2 sentences. Creationists are the new gays in the closet. Gays are out and creationists are in the closet.
Vrej Egon Spengler "the guy claimed that he isn't part of any religion and he just simply believes in a god" What he said with just this part here, is that he's a Deist. I know this because I'm actually a type of Deist. I believe there is some sort of supreme being or even a group of beings (an alien race?) that initiated the Big Bang billions of years ago, and then left everything alone after that. No more involvement, no book, no worship, no heaven or hell... just that *that* was the cause of the start of the beginning of the universe. Nothing more. And I fully understand it can't be proven nor disproven right now, so I could very well be 100% wrong - and I'm perfectly fine with that. It's why I say it's my *belief*.
sclinge1 I have considered that concept and I would not call that deism. People who say god, aren't even sure what it is or how to define it. Some of them say that it is omnipotent and omniscient which doesn't make sense. They use words like spiritual and soul which also has no proper definition. They are into worshipping which is another word for ass kissing. If someone says alien, I imagine that they are talking about life forms more or less like us and made of matter, not pixie dust.
Vrej Egon Spengler "I would not call that deism" I do for lack of better words. If someone would invent a specific word for it - there I would be. "If someone says alien, I imagine that they are talking about life forms more or less like us and made of matter" That may not necessarily be the case. They or it could be comprise of pure energy. I don't know. Until we do know, I figure and feel (not "know") that it's the best scenario. And it matters very little to me any way.
"What about the tides? They come in and go out, we have no idea why." -Bill O'Reilly (Brief silence and look of stunned amazement at the level of idiocy allowed to persist in America today) -Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson
My sophomore theology teacher actually used the Tornado analogy in my Catholic High School. It makes me so sad that kids are kept ignorant for the sake of a belief system
yesterday i watched professor dave debate kent hovind for the first time, and it turns out this video is so accurate to the point that it's barely an exaggeration. i'm in shock. i hope i never have to talk to one of these people in my life lmao.
I get creationsts to delete their posts all the time. Especially when they tell me evolution is only a theory. And I tell them, gravity is only a theory & they should disprove it by stepping off the Empire State building. I don't think they want to, for some strange reason?
This was so uncanny. It's like this is not even a parody, he totally nailed it, that's exactly how they debate. The same fabricated talking points ad nauseam.
mit kooc I saw a video at a debate between Hovind and Professor Dave Explains made about a month ago. I couldn’t get five minutes past the moment Kent started talking... this video reminds a lot about that “debate”.
+asif raheem How tall do they believe humans were? Are we talking about exceeding the record human height on record, of 8'-11"? Or are we talking about them being close to 6 ft tall, like a lot of people are today, but was very uncommon during most of the history of modern biological humans?
+asif raheem "There are muslims that think earlier humans were very tall and lived for hundreds of years. Make a video about that." ==I'm sure there are. This belief appears in judaism and christianity and also in the greek religion (They believed that giants lived on top of mount Olympus). Even to this day, people believe in certain stupidities like breaking a mirror brings bad luck, don't open an umbrella in the house, don't leave scissors open, don't walk over someone if he is lying on the ground or else he won't grow tall. (I've heard some of these from my mother. My colleagues were talking about it at work and we don't even come from the same culture). They are like rumors. Someone started them a long time ago and they were just repeated over and over. The silliness turns into a belief and then gets integrated into religious books. Then billions of people bow down to it.
The fact that this video gives me anxiety is off the chain crazy ... I can't stop myself from screaming at your cartoon cause I know so many Christians like this .
You make very thought provoking videos. Thank you. I grew up christian & have really began questioning that theology. All though I stopped practicing it years ago, your videos have been very informative.
Informative? lol Strawman arguments and giving the Christian side a weak false standing basis and then wrecking it with "solutions". Good to see you are searching for the Truth in valid places.
He does do a great job on these videos! You know by the amount of Devout Pastors and Preachers he attracts lol Only one they do avoid is the "kings speech" . Think that one might be a lil uncomfortable for them!
***** Actually this video in particular was a fairly accurate representation to how Creationists debate. Creationists are the kings of strawmen, they mastered making accepted science look more stupid to their followers than humans being formed from a pile of dirt and a rib while animals are summoned from thin air and that's saying something.
***** Have to agree with the others -- he's spot on here when it comes to creationist arguments. They've been repeating the same bloody things over and over ever since I was a kid, and that was more than half a century ago. My brother is a minister, and signed me up for the Creation Science Newsletter when I was in my early teens, and even then I found their "arguments" the flimsiest things I'd ever seen... and they've not got one whit better, nor even in most cases much altered the wording. I don' know whether to laugh or cry at videos like this. If the basis of humor is pointing out the profundity of human stupidity and thick-headedness, then this has got to be one of the most hilarious things ever done. Unfortunately, as I live in a society (America) where such a large percentage of the population actually believes precisely the sorts of arguments put forth here, all too often such things strike me more as tragic than funny.....
this is scarily accurate. that's exactly how conversion goes with my fundamental Christian family and friends. I'm embarrassed to admit I sounded the same before I actually researched evolution and read the bible for myself.
I love the contrast between the scientist, who humbly corrects his mistakes about creationism, with the creationist, who patently refuses to acknowledge what was literally just said 10 seconds ago. It's frustratingly accurate, and I have been in that exact scenario a hundred times over.
This clear satirical joke was basically the real debate between Professor Dave Explains and creationist Kent Hovid Look it up if you have the time, pretty much the entire conversation point-for-point
@@endersdragon34 Between court appearances for tax fraud and domestic violence, I doubt he has the time. I couldn't help noticing that the two participants in this imaginary debate are called Kent and David.
I don't like the term 'transitional fossil.' It implies that evolution is a process with multiple stopping points rather than a continuous process that branches off at times when populations stop sharing genetic information. All species are transitional in that sense, right?
Well, if you take into account that evolution "speeds up" in case of drastic environment change, there are species that "stick around" a bit longer then others, so they might in a way be considered "cornerstones", while those that vanish faster might be considered "transitional". At least that's the way I look at it.
What is truly baffling is their attitudes towards the fact that it can clearly be seen that there are transitional forms between ancient "apes" and modern humans. I grew up with the falsehood that early hominid skulls were just ape skulls or were deformed human skulls. How do they explain the fact that if you have a skull with a larger, more complex brain than apes that it can't be a modern ape? How do they explain the gradual progression of larger brain sizes and that many hominid species had brains as big as ours. but with different skill sets? We now have the technology to be able to actually get an idea of what their brains were like by making an inner cast of the brain case. It actually can tell you about the structure of the brain, not just the size. Many of our ancient hominid ancesters were SMARTER than we are in certain areas and actually were successful species for a long period of time. We are actually the new kids on the block. Of course to creationists all this information is just "Blah, blah, blah.."
Yeah, I've thought the same thing. Pretty much every fossil is a transitional form. I'm a transitional form. One of the reasons I don't like this word is because if we find a fossil and say it's a transitional form, a creationist can just point out that we now have two more gaps to fill.
This video captures the creationist "arguments" and ignorance perfectly. Well done sir. I was interested to read the material this was based on in the description box. Without reading that, I could have sworn this was based on the Richard Dawkins interview with Wendy Wright.
"Not a single fossil of a transitional species?" The stupidity here goes beyond ignorance of research. Just use some basic logic. EVERY fossilized animal is a transition between something older and something newer. The exception is if a species was somehow exterminated at the stage where at least one of the corpses happened to be fossilized. In that case, the fossilized species might not have any descendants. My point is that the "missing link" argument is a completely moot point. Filling in one large gap always creates two smaller gaps, which gives idiotic apologists the lamest renewable excuse to continue bashing evolution.
I absolutely love how the scientist gets scripture wrong, and says "oh, okay, noted, my bad", while the creationist gets Evolution wrong, and continues with it. So. God. Damn. Accurate. I have literally, never, EVER, heard a creationist accurately describe any science they disagree with, especially Evolution. Even after explaining it to them over and over. Nor admit they got something wrong about it. I myself have gotten scripture wrong several times, and corrected it.
Let (adult) people believe what they will; I was once zealously religious, too. But I never realised there was such a chasm of conflict over these angles of understanding...until very recently - whilst sharing my genuine excitement about biology, geology and evolution, etc. with my young grandkids - that I was met with such fervent conviction in a "6000 year old Earth", which automatically closed their mental doors of their young, trusting minds from the natural curiosity and wonder of scientific exploration. Closed-mindedness is heartbreaking, and I think this is what bothers me the most. Indeed, this video is so brilliant and disturbing! It directly reminds me of the "interview" between Richard Dawkins and Wendy Wright (~2013 ?). It's almost verbatim: ua-cam.com/video/-AS6rQtiEh8/v-deo.html I love Richard Dawkins' calm, yet assertive example, and likewise, I will simply continue to speak innocently about my Joy and Wonder of Life.
How in the F@#K did I use to live in this exact mindset? The fact I was able to finally to free and open my mind to the truth is nothing short of a miracle.
I've seen real debates that used these kinds of "arguments". ...and that's the reason why I sometimes can't finish watching them because the Christian debaters so often are horribly stupid in some of these videos. There's that one blond woman who, from what I heared, is one of the "best creationist debaters" and really... she was just like that guy in the video. I couldn't watch it longer than half a minute. It was a pity that Richard Dawkins had to endure this aweful person.
If they reject the vaccinations and remedies produced from a evolution-based science, as they should if they have any integrity, then I think your prediction/wish will come true.
NonStampCollector Whats strange to me is why do religious people go to doctors when they have a life threatening illness. They should be happy their dying right. I liked your video about that guy with a tumor who was happy about dying. Unfortunately that doesn't happen in real life. They go on to live and spread their propaganda.
Atheist populations are on decline. There is no morality to live by since there is no scientific physical evidence for it according to atheists. Thus their societies aren't held together as well as Christian societies which value life, hard work and reproduction more. The U.S. still reigns supreme in total GDP and has high GDP per capita especially when you consider the population size while Europe slowly fades. Atheists will claim a country such as Norway as atheist country despite the countries foundations and history built on Christianity and the majority of the population still identifying itself as Christian. It is interesting watching atheist societies falling far below Christian societies in terms of music, art, business, law and even science.
The guy on the left's argument can pretty much be summed up as: LALALALALALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU edit: i typed that before finishing the video and i can't believe it happened
jeff guner Told* And you should say he worships an omnipotent being who created humans to satisfy his huge ego, and he wants to have a relationship with them and those who don't like him go burn in a pit for all eternity while the rest go to lala land.
I cant stop laughing ! This is the best. Lallaaa laa there's no evidence for evolution lalalala . This is hilarious from start to finish. The ending is perfect
Pure gold I laughed so hard, I fell like I just watched every debate on evolution wrapped up in one. There was an interview between Dawkins and an ignorant blond woman that drove me bonkers, I think a lot of this came from that interview. Very funny stuff, Wish I could like this vid a thousand times.
I wish we lived in a world where this was absurd parody people could point and laugh at, instead of "Oh man, I remember one of the millions of debates that went EXACTLY like this!"
I watched Prof Dave debate vs Kent Hovind before this, and it hilarious how on point it is word for word basically. And 14 years ago now it crazy, NSC was def ahead of his time, havent laughed like this in a while😅
Watch Richard Dawkins Interviews Creationist Wendy Wright. She did the same thing...no transitional fossils...not one...blah blah! Dawkins didn't stay "Stick it!" at the end...cudos to him for his self-restraint!
It's been a few years since I came across a Video (That wasn't a music video) that I've been repeatedly listening to. I probably watched around 10 times one. Just perfection. Especially when he keeps repeating the (Not even one transitional species. Not even one.)
It's hard to win an argument against a smart person.
It's impossible to win an argument against a stupid person.
ATOMIC SHARK
So true.
In my country there is an old saying:"Never engage in a discussion with an iidiot. He will drag you to his level and beat you by experience".
Bc stupid people are stubborn
Isnt that an einstein quote?
You cannot fix stupid
what saddens me is that people like this actually exist
+Jordon Brewer Check out Megan Kelly, not the journalist and you will want to put you head in a mechanical press. You could SERIOUSLY parrot her argument with Richard Dawkins with this guy to a T
I see them all the time
Exist? They make the majority of humantiy sadly
I agree with you, and I'm a Catholic! A CATHOLIC!!!
Science isn't against religion, it's against direct creationism! Why are so many Catholics fooled by the Catholic Church?!
They're all on UA-cam
Actually, this video is not even a parody of creationists, creationists really argue exactly like that, even it seems too ridiculous.
People that always forgetting stuff that was explained a few posts and repeat the same argument, is very frustrating.
That's the funny part, this is how they really are
I don't remember closing my ears and shouting "la la la" but ok
Kent Hovind the clown argues the exact same way.
This is actually a parody of Richard Dawkins and that woman who kept saying "show me the evidence where is the evidence".
I thought this was a comedy and satire channel. Why am I only seeing a verbatim enactment of my conversations with my parents?
bro so true
This only proves that you truly evolve from your parents from being gullible to skeptic. Thats natural selection right there.
VERBATIM!!!🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

Number 1 reasons why i don't really talk to my parents
The scary thing is...you could show this to some creationists, and they would tell you the guy on the left pwned the biologist on the right.
Yea! Reminds me of this: "Discussing evolution with a creationist is like playing chess with a pigeon. It knocks the pieces over, shits on the board and then flies back to its flock to claim victory"
It's sad creationists still exist
+Thedemonhater I agree; and no matter how often their spurious arguments are refuted, they still keep trotting them out.
+TheRelihunter simple. Creationists want to cling to the beliefs of Bronze Age sadists
+TheRelihunter because there god is illusionary. It's called the god delusion. Why are people deluded, cause they probably think they want to be, comfortably numb.

If brothers came from their sisters then why do sisters still exist?
But brothers don't come from sisters...
Children grow up to become parents that’s why
"If you could argue with religious people, there would be no religious people" House
+Roger França I f****** love that show.
Oh yeah by the way have you ever noticed how sunlight kills germs? If we evolved from a primordial soup sunlight would kill off the start of life.
@@andystokes8702 Exactly.
I've never wanted to attack a cartoon character so badly until today.

Wait... "realistic"? Meaning it wasn't actually real but just made to look that way? I was convinced this was an actual, totally-accurate representation of an actual discussion that occurred between a creationist and an evolutionary biologist.

@@Alex.Johnsen ah, thank you
You know I still suffer from a lot of psychological manipulation and guilt from being raised a Christian and leaving it for lack of evidence but this channel helps me feel so much more confident and clears my mind
Creationist: My God, It's like I'm talking to a brick wall!
Biologist: No, you're talking to a mirror. _I'm_ talking to a brick wall.
sounds about right!

Ah! No. A brick wall would at least echo your word back to you.
Don't compare a brick wall to a creationist!

This video is offensive as it portrays creationists as nothing more than hypocritical, intellectually dishonest ignoramuses.
Spot on!
Hahaha, you got me.
Which is very true!
Am I the only lunatic here who couldn't but read the "Spot on!" on Robert Webb's voice?
😂😂😂😂
I used to be a young earth creationist, I would say that transitional fossils didn't exist. That there is no way we evolved from monkeys, etc.
Then I debated someone who actually had the names and pictures of some of these transitional fossils. I was stunned. He then told me just to go into the Museum, sure enough when it was a free day we went and I saw some in person. That was the day my thoughts on my religion were seriously challenged and my journey to Atheism began.
People like yourself give me real hope for humanity. Congrats on having the courage to challenge your beliefs, it’s not an easy journey. Cheers ✌️🇦🇺🙃
That's awesome, what an inspirational story!
Well done for being honest and changing your mind. There are still lots of creationists who see the evidence and still deny it.

Good for you man. It's a scary thing to have your worldview challenged on that scale, and a good number of people in your position might have just cut off contact with that person and buried their head in the sand.

"Actually, evolutionary theory-"
"NOT ONE TRANSITIONAL FORM!!!"
NOT EVEN ONE!
If Jesus was real, why are there still Jews? Weren't they all supposed to get sucked into heaven when the Messiah arrived?
Leo Lichtveld Read the bible, there is probably a contradictory statement to that
You do realize that's how Christians who make arguments like the ones in the video sound.
"The sucked up into heaven and hell will heaven in due time"
I am so confused
Biblical and other " holy " books have some stories to be morals , as the "he whom is without sin..."
But the only way to determine these is arbitrary choices.
So arguing other stories from any holy book can be stopped by any believer so it is potinless.
Holy does exsist
Its a word.
I put it in quotations to show they are named by the followers as holy but i do not believe that.
I wastrying to put the poitn as some stories in the book are not true because god would never kill first born children for no good reason
Or destory a village
Or tell a man to kill his son
Its just morals, right?
People who argue against evolution are the best evidence against it.
Lmao!
I see what you did there :D
Don't worry their archaic religion will die soon enough.
Barcs Spirituality is growing very quickly. I keep meeting people who believe in every made-up thing BUT Christianity. They read their horoscopes through crystals while doing yoga and breathing smoke from aromatherapy candles.
Docktor Jim That actually made me chuckle

This is so reminiscent of the Dawkins interview of Wendy "Show us the evidence" Wright. Bloody brilliant
this is reminiscent of about almost every creationist vs. science debate I have ever seen and every UA-cam comment discussion about it.
Let's move on.
There is no evidence of this video of being a good video. NOT EVEN ONE.
If you disagree with me, lets move on.
THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS WOULD JUST BURN RANDOMLY COME ON ATHETISTS
What are the other laws of thermodynamics? Do you even know what they're called? How about the details on the second?
In my experience only 1 creationist had the slightest idea what the second law of thermodynamics even states, and even he tried then to argue that the Earth was a closed system, something that's demonstrably false.
I was kidding. The creationist in the video says that line exactly. I am not a creationist.
Gotcha
Kyanon Shaman it’s actually going in a positive direction and these crazy people are getting louder in response. It’s their religion’s dying screams.
Kevin Benoit oh baby yes
Unfortunately this is progress. It was worse 100 years ago.
That's what a parody is. The 3 guys off top gear, (grand tour) is a good example of one becoming a parody of one's self.
That is what these extremist creationists are, a big parody of them selves. If was try to write it, and make them look worse, you couldn't. That's the sadness of this. The joke is its an every day argument, you can search for on yt and find millions of religious BS videos.
thankfully we are actually going in the right direction and I bet there are less creationists each year.
I am one of the lucky ones who came out of fundamentalism! I've never felt so happy or alive!
-----> www.huffingtonpost.com/valerie-tarico/polytheism-and-human-sacr_b_777340.html
What saddens me is that most christians will never get the opportunity to see these facts right there in their face. I've got much more to tell you, but I have a lecture now. As soon as I'm out I'll continue :)
That's a very unfair portrayal of a Creationist - most aren't that rational.
True.
287 people are pilots of Boeing 747 aircrafts that were formed from a tornado ripping through a junk yard.
Congratulations on Evolving past that.

This is a perfect lampoon of actual conversations I've had with creationists.
Not only is this some of the actual conversations that I've had with creationists - but I've had even worse ones.
sclinge1 I have been in a situation where the guy claimed that he isn't part of any religion and he just simply believes in a god and the reason he contact me was to prove to him that a god doesn't exist. He wouldn't even define his god. After long messages back and forth, it became clear he was a creationist. I had also destroyed his arguments and his final response was an idiotic 2 sentences.
Creationists are the new gays in the closet. Gays are out and creationists are in the closet.
Vrej Egon Spengler "the guy claimed that he isn't part of any religion and he just simply believes in a god"
What he said with just this part here, is that he's a Deist.
Vrej Egon Spengler "I would not call that deism"
I do for lack of better words. If someone would invent a specific word for it - there I would be.
"If someone says alien, I imagine that they are talking about life forms more or less like us and made of matter"
That may not necessarily be the case. They or it could be comprise of pure energy. I don't know. Until we do know, I figure and feel (not "know") that it's the best scenario. And it matters very little to me any way.

uncleanunicorn I read your comment as he was saying it
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is why anyone with half a brain will no longer debate Kent Hovind.
mit kooc I saw a video at a debate between Hovind and Professor Dave Explains made about a month ago. I couldn’t get five minutes past the moment Kent started talking... this video reminds a lot about that “debate”.
There are muslims that think earlier humans were very tall and lived for hundreds of years. Make a video about that.
+asif raheem No.
Tim C Sounds like a great idea for a video! I'll get right on it.
+NonStampCollector I'm not sure how you'll get any irony or theology into that, but I'll definitely be on the lookout
Make a video about that."
==I'm sure there are.
This is exactly what the 30 min interview between Dakwins and Wendy Wright was like. omg
This is beautifully done. And 10 years ago! How have I only came across this now? 👏👏👏
Does he say for fuck sakes when facepalms?
JC DA ARSONIST Only the most discerning listener would pick up on that. Well spotted.
NonStampCollector Thank you for sharing, and taking the time to comment. I enjoy your vidz. NSC.
went over the video twice then finally caught at 6:57
+JC DA ARSONIST He just got converted!
+JC DA ARSONIST haha he does
This is so frustrating to watch because it's so true
Hmmm, You sir...might not have good cartoons, but the content is fucken amazing!
I like how he quoted virtually verbatim from the infamous Richard Dawkins vs Wendy Wright debate haha
No really a straw man when over 33% of the people in america believe this utter bullshit.
*****
Actually this video in particular was a fairly accurate representation to how Creationists debate.
This clear satirical joke was basically the real debate between Professor Dave Explains and creationist Kent Hovid
Look it up if you have the time, pretty much the entire conversation point-for-point
I wish Hovind would accept Dave's rematch
@@endersdragon34 Between court appearances for tax fraud and domestic violence, I doubt he has the time. I couldn't help noticing that the two participants in this imaginary debate are called Kent and David.
@@joshuakohlmann9731 he still does debates all the time, just generally against total novices.
I don't like the term 'transitional fossil.' It implies that evolution is a process with multiple stopping points rather than a continuous process that branches off at times when populations stop sharing genetic information. All species are transitional in that sense, right?
I agree. Unless we find the remains of every single organism that has ever lived there are bound to always be "gaps".
Amelia Hartman I agree, by the way I love your avatar. Kotomi from Clannad, one of my favorite characters in that anime.
This video captures the creationist "arguments" and ignorance perfectly. Well done sir. I was interested to read the material this was based on in the description box. Without reading that, I could have sworn this was based on the Richard Dawkins interview with Wendy Wright.
Wendy wright was more irritating. Her fake smile was so annoying , gotta hand it to Richard Dawkins for keeping his cool.
Mrhaoable gcree20 I really liked the video. It showed how uninformed EVILutionists are.
No, I wasn't. Yeah those atheists are deluded
nice Dp
6:56 is my reaction to pretty much every debate I get into with a religious person
It's probably best not to argue with idiots. They'll only beat you down with their experience in ignorance.
Actually the saying is: "Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"
Edward Joel the point at which I get stuck is they say "but the bible is a reliable source because god wrote it" and it's an infinite loop
Same here
I make my way thru all your videos about once a year and have been doing this since near the beginning. You’re very talented. Love your stuff .
It's almost verbatim:
ua-cam.com/video/-AS6rQtiEh8/v-deo.html
I love Richard Dawkins' calm, yet assertive example, and likewise, I will simply continue to speak innocently about my Joy and Wonder of Life.
How in the F@#K did I use to live in this exact mindset? The fact I was able to finally to free and open my mind to the truth is nothing short of a miracle.
How you were raised maybe? I was raised in the Bible belt so I believed all that nonsense for a while too.
Maybe it's just comforting believing there's some higher power somewhere out there looking out for you in this crazy game we call life.
the Ego doesn't like change.
In my experience debating with a creationist is pointless. I stopped trying. They'll destroy themselves in time. Hopefully.
Debating creationists is only pointless if you are trying to convince them. The people you should be trying to convince is the audience.
Problem is they might just destroy us when they go.
So that's what Ray Comfort looks like as a cartoon.
The guy on the left's argument can pretty much be summed up as:
LALALALALALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU
edit: i typed that before finishing the video and i can't believe it happened
It really is like this, especially with older individuals who are stuck in their ways of thinking.
I'm viewing from the future. it's 2150 and this is still highly relevant and accurate.
This was so good. I loved this video. Thank you so much for creating this.
Oh my god. 13 years old and still accurate. Fundamentalist christians are truly timeless
One time a Christian tolled me that atheist worship evolution....I kid you not.

Playing chess with pigeon..... And Wendy wright.
1:29. I have heard that exact metaphor before. This is too accurate 😂
Good job in capturing the frustration of arguing with these silly, silly people. Very funny!
13 years or so later, and this still feels kinda... modern. Like... is this what religion will always be? Strawmans? Pitiful...
jesus christ dude. this is probably the most painful nonstampcollector video to watch
*If Americans came from Europeans then why are there still Europeans?*
I think Americans are a step backwards not forwards.

It's been a few years since I came across a Video (That wasn't a music video) that I've been repeatedly listening to. I probably watched around 10 times one. Just perfection. Especially when he keeps repeating the (Not even one transitional species. Not even one.)
This video is a decade old and it managed to trigger the sh** outta me. Well played, Nonstampcollector
Normally the nonstampcollecters stuff is hilarious, but this is just to real to be funny, it makes me sad really.
