The radio presets are a minor issue. The vehicle will return to factory settings. That doesn’t sound too bad but if your vehicle had any updates or “ tech bulletins “ added to fix or improve ant issues you will lose those too. For instance the 2017 Highlander had an “ update “ for the automatic transmission to help prevent an issue with some of them. Mine was done under warranty when I noticed the transmission wouldn’t shift when you used “ resume “ on the cruise control after hitting 5he brakes. The engine would rev up to 5000 rpm and stay there for over 20 seconds. I mentioned this and the mechanic looked for a service bulletin and found one. He didn’t even know about it until I mentioned the problem.

I have a 2018 and it is start/stop. Also make sure you replace it with an AGM battery and not a standard battery or you will have problems@@warrenchung2215
Ya you go ahead and do that oh and while you’re giving out great advice don’t forget to mention to use a hammer to knock the cable back on the terminal too.
Great video. Thanks for posting. My 2015 Toyota Highlander XLE's battery just died so needed this video! Keep up the great work!

didn't you lose ALL OF YOUR SETTINGS? Do you need to plug in auxiliary power by way of the OBD port?
Great video
Thanks!

I just had to do this to my 2011 highlander
What is the difference between the stop start battery change to the regular battery change on the 2017 Highlander?
If you have start/stop chances are that you need an AGM battery and not a standard battery.
I have a Toyota Kluger, The battery was a commodores battery with timber glued to it…
What about radio preset
Failed to mention that you should replace with an AGM battery and not a standard battery or you will encounter problems.
Does that Highlander have the auto stop-start engine technology?
2020 and up

Not exclusive to 2020 and up. Many other years have that option.
My 2017 XLE has stop / start.
Do positive first
Always remove the neg side first.
