Thanks for reacting. My brother-in-law's cousin in the lead guitarist (not the singer/lead guitarist). We spend every Christmas Eve with his dad. As for the lyrics, all but one of their albums are part of an overall conceot that includes comic books, a novel and solo albums by the singer. I lost track of the story a decade ago. I'm seeing them live in October.
Ok Polo, the next Coheed song you do MUST BE “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3”. I don’t care what other comments are recommending, this song is F’n amazing and showcases C&C’s entire band, especially the lead singers pipes and the awesome groove. You won’t be disappointed dude.
For the record, you should want us to all be recommending other songs so we and he can hear as much C&C as possible. If we all recommend In Keeping Secrets, the train ends there.
It's such a fun song to play as well. I want to see him react to the velorium campers, old flames, the hard sell, the Pavillion omg I will name their whole discography if I don't stop hahaha
@@Theogvineofthedead The Hard Sell.. low key one of their best songs. Such a good deep cut. I recommended Gravity's Union but honestly almost anything from them is gonna be a banger.
@@bassage13you got a year on me. I discovered them in 2004 while I was at work and going through UA-cam vids (damn...UA-cam been around a long time too). The first vid I saw was "The Suffering", and I had to hear more from them immediately 😂
Coheed is such a polarizing band. People either love them or hate them. I personally love them. My personal favorite song is the lesser appreciated "Gravity's Union".
Also, you gotta listen to the studio version of 'Welcome Home'. The version on the music video has cuts to reduce the play time and the original is a bit better.
Agree with you that the band is polarizing.... I do not get this band. Saw them live, I believe opening for Linkin' Park or Green Day, and they were boring - to be nice! Endless guitar solos with not much variety. Sorry!
Sooooooo glad you liked my recommendation! They are one of my favorites and I have all of their studio albums and side project albums. BTW, I’m a major Tool fan as well. You once asked who is a part of the Tool Army? I’m a 51 y/o, Black male. To your credit, you are proving good music transcends race and age. Keep doing what you’re doing! We’ll keep watching.
I love whenever anybody discovers coheed and cambria it genuinely makes me happy for them. And dude doesn’t even have to wait for new albums he’s got years of music just waiting at the door for him 🔥
Claudio (lead singer/guitarist) wrote a graphic novel series. This is his band, and all music the band has ever made is about events that happen in the comics. Fun facts.
“Gravemakers and Gunslingers” will always be my favorite song by this band, and a song many don’t even know about. Be one of the only reactors on the web to do it Polo! It won’t let you down
Big rabbit hole with this extremely talented band. Aside from other tracks mentioned, do yourself a huge favor and check out the live “guitar center sessions” version of this song. It’s even better!!
Oh & Here we are Juggernaut. That’s good too. Any other suggestions I should check out? Top 3 songs? I heard someone say that there other music is more “out there” I don’t know what that means but either way, I’d still check them out! Any suggestions are appreciated!

Been listening to this band since 8th grade, back in 2005. The evolution of their sound has been such a joy to watch. The band has been through highs and many lows, but they've never faltered in my eyes. I recommend checking out Evagria The Faithful, and also The Willing Well I: Fuel For The Feeding End.

Yes yes yes your on the right album my good dude please allow yourself to enjoy this feature of an excellent experience and listen to the whole album my favorite is the willing well 4 the Final Cut enjoy!!!!
I try to see Coheed live at least twice per year. They put on an absolutely amazing show! I love basically everything by them but to point out a few that highlight their range I would recommend Everything Evil, A Favor House Atlantic, Wake Up, Feathers, Here We Are Juggernaut, The Afterman, You Got Spirit, Kid, The Gutter, and A Disappearing Act. That moves you quickly through their discography, but as mentioned, they have many amazing tracks and incredible diversity. Based on your reaction to Welcome Home, I think you might soon also be a Child of the Fence.
My husband and I were fortunate to see them live a few years ago (pre pandemic,) and they were stellar! Their music catalog tells and you pic story, but you don’t need to know it to enjoy the songs individually. They’re pretty brilliant.
There's a version of this song that I like even more, and it's a live session from Guitar Center. Called Guitar Center Live Sessions I think, and they do an even more amazing performance of this song live in studio. It's wild. Worth a watch whether you do it on video or not.
Granted, I have not listened to everything, but this is by far my favorite song by them. I saw them live and while all I could really see was his hair flying around (I’m short), they were amazing.

Their music is (for the most part) one long sprawling story but you dont have to know it to enjoy the music. If I were giving a suggestion on what to listen to for you to get into this band 2 songs come to mind 1. Gravity's Union 2. Can't wait to see your next Coheed reaction.

other good songs- 'dark side of me', 'the running free', 'you got spirit, kid', 'here to mars'... I tried to mention tracks that I didn't already see all over the comments.
I love watching new people come into the Coheed family. You can listen to all of their music on repeat forever but you never really get the full effect until you see them live. I’ve been fortunate enough to see them half a dozen times and they are by far the best live act I’ve seen. The production, energy and execution is always on point.
One of my favorites is Sentry the defiant, especially the version that's only our boy claudio, a guitar and a mic. That and of course the live version of the final cut
