Rust repair with filling and painting under fuel filler cap on MK2 Golf

Good finish 👍🏻 could try 1500 grit wet sand then move up to 2000 and 3000 then machine polish. Might improve it .

Big issue with rust on that part of the car. Mud and dirt gets trapped between fuel filler neck and chassis and it starts to rot. I have the same issue on my GTD, even the strut tower started to rot

Yeah! I’ve seen some rear arch liners that I’m going ti get, hopefully will protect it a bit
