I haven’t fixed it yet. I’m going to take a look when I have a bit of time and will post a video on it. I can’t see any difference between this and the original though so it makes no sense.

They seem alright, put some on my other golf a couple of years ago. But time will tell. They feel okay though

Used the same brand / set on my 5 door and for the price they worked well compared to the ones where the levers had stopped moving enough.

@@MatthewCoxall-d4s thanks mate! We turned it over on the starter without plugs to make sure everything had a good coating of oil before starting. Not sure if it helps with oil pressure or not. Would make sense if it did

@ that set up doc is amazing what’s incredible is how a KR will run even with lots of bits wired wrong but how much better it is when it’s right. For the coolant leaks I found that a pressure tester was super helpful just leave under pressure and find the drip so much easier then doing it when everything is piping hot.

@ ohhh where do you get those from got any links, would be so much better, deffo prefer not to risk over heating the engine too lol. Yeh that and the CO set up doc are gold!

@@MK2GolfStories not sure if UA-cam rules lets me post links as last reply didn’t post but basically got a set from the jungle website about 35 squid all of the sets seem pretty similar come with loads of coolant cap adapters and a pump with gauge just screw the adapter on your expansion tank and pressurise the system and look for bibles and drips.

Yeah just got some, will be doing that at the weekend. try and keep as much hear out of the engine bay as possible

⁠might sound daft, but I’ve been thinking about it. To help the loom in the long run, less heat under there. Surely the less brittle the wiring will become. Or to help just prolong it’s life Plus other benefits of a cooler engine bay

@ yeah mate 100% Gunna be wrapping it once I’ve finished assembling the engine. Less heat the better for sure

@@RavensVFX had major problems with the coolant system on the diesel, we did film it but it didn’t work, turns out we had a blown head gasket! Will be doing that on a video soon though, but I guess you’ve no need for it now xD. Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching & commenting!

@well not on the diesel, but I’ve just rebuilt the engine in my 16v, so will be uploading it as part of that in a couple of weeks

@@MK2GolfStories hate to say it. But if you can get a complete loom. That a dubber hasn’t touched. Your really improve your chances Ok not wiring loom related. But I realised today. That my car is not a factory power steering model, that’s the issue trying to to fix an issue thats not even related to factory fitted parts. Fuckin dubbers. I want a Ford next lol

@@MK2GolfStories I really think the car has had a vr6 conversion in the pass, sub frame and vr6 set up on the front end. An quite possibly hence the power steering parts. I only noticed as the header tank in the wrong place. Did a double take when I see it. Looked closer some dreadful bracket work. As for looms, well, don’t know about new ones. But dubstock or mk2spares must have a decent one of a car they would have stripped. Nothing wrong with repairing what you got. Personally I’d rather work with a stick loom then one that’s been spliced. Just depends what finish your after. Yh a Ford 😂😂

@@mintysgt yeah for sure mate, i just not very good with electonics, so not knowing where things go and replacing it all is a bit daunting

Hello and welcome to the club. The rear fog lights are the innermost bottom lights on the cluster, they're turned on by one of the switches on the dashboard

That’s average price for an “average” 16v golf gti in OK condition (a fair bit of body rust, oil leaks etc), this sadly had more issues than I was lead to believe. My old 16v golf got written off and was valued at £14k

You know what mate that’s a very valid question. It was my dads suggestion and I cang remember why he said to do it… You’ve got me questioning it now…

@@MatthewCoxall-d4s just been reading up on it and Lubrication helps the threads and washer tighten consistently to the required force. This ensures the head gasket is properly loaded and a good seal is created.

Some bolts can be spec'd as a wet torque which makes them more accurate, there okay for head bolts but applying of thinner low yield bolts can course snap event

@@declanb1928 nah you don’t need to disconnect the battery as you’re only unplugging / plugging in a switch. It will be fine

@@natanaelmoran3861 I’m getting water to the radiator now, if you’re not it could be a stuck thermostat (I have a video on replacing that) or an air lock in the system, so try bleeding it
