Robert Englund is the ONLY person who can play Freddie. It’s his pointy nose and deep-set eyes. The latest Freddie looked like he had no nose! It looked ridiculous.
Ok, I think you being a little too harsh on the 2010 reboot, I genuinely think the actor who play him in the 2010 was better than Robert Englund. He gives a way darker and gritty performance. And it has IMO one of the best lines in horror history. "No, not god. Just me."
The great thing about Jason Ritter’s scenes in this movie is that I can mentally swap out “Freddy” with “Bill” and imagine that this is an extremely dark sequel to Gravity Falls
Freddy: uses shadow claw James: not very effective Blake: safely fled from the wild Freddy Jason: *a wild Jason appears* Jason uses machete slice Blake: *blake uses I took my fathers head and it as a shield* Me: Blake’s I took my fathers head and used it as a shield wasn’t very effective Jason’s machete slice was very effective and it was also a one-hit-ko
Interesting fact: Earlier scripts of this movie was going to have Jason and Freddy have a bigger connection with each other. By having Freddy be one of the camp counselors at Crystal Lake who then molested Jason before he fell in the lake. Which would have added another reason to Jason wanting to kill him.
Hmmm... while that might have been interesting, it also sounds like it could've come across as forced WAY too easy. I mean, would the timelines even match up?
@@jasonking7570 Considering Pamela Voorhees started killing way before Freddy's prowl began (assuming the movies supposedly fit their release dates initially) and taking the idea that Jason was already around Camp Crystal Lake around then, adding the fact that Freddy spent around 14 years in limbo before returning as the dream demon, the big word is it COULD line up. But I'm with you, it's way too forced to suddenly make them this connected. Not even mentioning the fact that I'm not that happy about the idea of the trend of Jason being the good guy here. He's not. They are both insane killers, except one is a mute, demented murder machine and the other is a sadistic psycho. I'm happy they presented Jason as clearly evil, even if the kids intend to use him in order to get rid of Freddy.

I like how he adds even more context to the movie than his initial freddy vs jason kill count. It really shows that he doesn't want to waste his viewers time and his passion for this videos. Great work as always James.
I just love the Elemental Symbolism between Freddy and Jason, not only in that they have polar opposite elements but they reflect their respective killers. Fire is chaotic and destructive like Freddy, while Water can be both calm yet dangerous under the right circumstances like Jason. Even had a special piece of artwork specifically commissioned to highlight that theme.
Jason: Fear of water? Freddy: Fear of fire? James already made the point that Jason is an excellent swimmer and wasn't scared of water, however the writers forgot that Freddy's go to is a BOILER ROOM. Can't really be that scared of fire, can he?
Eh, the boiler room is a construct of Freddy's mind in the dreamscape. He controls what happens there. It makes sense to me that he would fear actual fire once brought into reality.
The only reason I'm ok with the fear of water thing is that freddy was going for the kid left in Jason. he was scared of alot and petrified when he died. Freddy dragged it to the surface and Jason lost his shield
@@militiacoming672 he can scare you but using what your already scared of is faster freddy had to pull out the last fear jason had experienced and Jason felt fear for the first time in years
Jason’s Mother: “Go kill the kids on Elm Street!!!” Jason (If he actually spoke): “Okay, where is this Elm Street. What city, what state, is it in another country?”
Jason killing people on Elm Street's from Crystal Lake to Springwood would've made a good montage with his mom telling him to keeping going this isn't the right one.
Dead meat has opened my eyes to how many Transformers VAs have played characters in horror. In this movie Gary chalk played Optimus Primal (BW 1996-1999 BM1999-2000) and Optimus Prime (unicon trilogy 2002-2005)
And here's a few more: - Susan Blu (G1/TFA Arcee & BW Transmutate) was in Friday the 13th: The New Blood - Tony Todd (The Fallen & TFP Dreadwing) was in Final Destination, Candyman, and Tales from the Hood 3 - Lance Henriksen (TFA Lockdown) was in Scream 3 - Jeffery Combs (TFP/ROD 2015 Ratchet) was in Re-Animator, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and Would You Rather Garry Chalk was also in Doctor Sleep.
the thing was Kane Hodder was on board with playing Jason for the 5th time but Ronny Yu wanted Jason to be taller so since Ken Kirzinger is 6'5 he was chosen to be Jason Voorhees instead
I like when James counts the “imaginary bodies” (you all know what I mean) because he makes it a legit KILL count. I appreciate all the work this man does!
He only counts them and traces of bodies in movies that have not too many of them. Or (for example in Jason X) when he likes the imaginary kills (He counted the Virtual girls in the end, but not the characters in the virtual fight at the beginning of Jasons killing spree on the spaceship)

Ok, I think you being a little too harsh on the 2010 reboot, I genuinely think the actor who play him in the 2010 was better than Robert Englund. He gives a way darker and gritty performance. And it has IMO one of the best lines in horror history. "No, not god. Just me."
@@bewaremusic3933 haha yes! I was trying to figure out who he was reminding me of 😭
The great thing about Jason Ritter’s scenes in this movie is that I can mentally swap out “Freddy” with “Bill” and imagine that this is an extremely dark sequel to Gravity Falls
1..2... Bill's coming for you
Omg I never thought about that
Well at 23:54 he does refer to Jason Ritter as "Dipper Pines" for a joke, which was pretty funny ngl

James’s jokes always hit 👏
I love that James is committed enough to put himself through this movie 3 separate times
Freddy: uses shadow claw
James: not very effective
Blake: safely fled from the wild Freddy
Jason: *a wild Jason appears* Jason uses machete slice
Blake: *blake uses I took my fathers head and it as a shield*
Me: Blake’s I took my fathers head and used it as a shield wasn’t very effective Jason’s machete slice was very effective and it was also a one-hit-ko
Blake has woken up
Jason used Guillotine
“You can’t run from a trainer battle”
Blake is Normal-Type. Because he’s basic.
Jason: hits Kea with the machete
Kea: flys halfway across earth
“She runs with the torch, like an Uruk-Hai at Helms Deep”
Not sure why I found that so funny
Me too lol 😂 l
“Freddy versus Jason, place your bets” my fucking god that was a fucking terrible line 😂 😂
Glad they cut it from the final product 😂
Now if only whoever made the decision to cut that line stuck around to cut out other stuff like “I guess this round goes to Kong.”
*friends are dead or drying*
"lmao, freddy vs jason, so epic lol"
@@DodoRibeiro-ts6po sucks that MK annihilation has its own terrible line
honestly i would have likes it more than "freddy by fire jason by wate" BS
The weigh in and boxing style press conference between the two was the most legendary thing I’ve ever seen
@@jasonking7570 There's some possibility
Thank god that wasn’t approved.
No no no
No no
I don’t think so
Not Cool freddy
Not cool
The “Get to the numbers” bits keep getting better and better!! Keep up the great work James (AND Chelsea ;))

4:39 i love watching horror movie actor in full costume but just sound like regular people lol
I still love Freddy's look of OH SHIT when he turns around and sees Jason
Right! I laughed so hard the first time I saw that scene.
He was afraid of the fire tho. Don't know why he would be scared of jason. The dude laughs when he breaks his own fingers.
Thats a really neat way of looking at it.
Jason: Fear of water?
Freddy: Fear of fire?
James already made the point that Jason is an excellent swimmer and wasn't scared of water, however the writers forgot that Freddy's go to is a BOILER ROOM. Can't really be that scared of fire, can he?
Apparently it’s Jason is just afraid of drowning
Eh, the boiler room is a construct of Freddy's mind in the dreamscape. He controls what happens there. It makes sense to me that he would fear actual fire once brought into reality.
The only reason I'm ok with the fear of water thing is that freddy was going for the kid left in Jason. he was scared of alot and petrified when he died. Freddy dragged it to the surface and Jason lost his shield
@@militiacoming672 he can scare you but using what your already scared of is faster freddy had to pull out the last fear jason had experienced and Jason felt fear for the first time in years
He is not scared of water
For all of its flaws, this movie is for the most part a phenomenal accomplishment in stunts and actions sequences
"bastard child of a hundred rewrites" good line man. Well played
Jason’s Mother: “Go kill the kids on Elm Street!!!”
Jason (If he actually spoke): “Okay, where is this Elm Street. What city, what state, is it in another country?”
"Every town has an Elm street"
Angry Joe: It's literally across the street!
must of had SAT-NAV
Jason killing people on Elm Street's from Crystal Lake to Springwood would've made a good montage with his mom telling him to keeping going this isn't the right one.
@@Avocado11 Sorry, but it looks like your true victims are on another Elm Street!
The thing I love most about these videos, is that James gives love to the artists behind the scenes that don’t normally get much love.
Dead meat has opened my eyes to how many Transformers VAs have played characters in horror. In this movie Gary chalk played Optimus Primal (BW 1996-1999 BM1999-2000) and Optimus Prime (unicon trilogy 2002-2005)
And here's a few more:
- Susan Blu (G1/TFA Arcee & BW Transmutate) was in Friday the 13th: The New Blood
- Tony Todd (The Fallen & TFP Dreadwing) was in Final Destination, Candyman, and Tales from the Hood 3
- Lance Henriksen (TFA Lockdown) was in Scream 3
- Jeffery Combs (TFP/ROD 2015 Ratchet) was in Re-Animator, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and Would You Rather
Garry Chalk was also in Doctor Sleep.
Making Jason scared of water is like making Michel scared of dogs.
he drowned tho so it makes sense
@Jen Budda he didn't die actually he died to an axe to the head
@Jen Budda his drowning death got reconned
He literally walks out of the water at the end of the movie lol
Vick or Myers? Both get your point across great
Focus group: "why only drowning? Let's have Jason be afraid of water in general, it made so much sense in Signs!"
i don't think anyone went out of their way to ask for a hydrophobic jason, it's just what happens when you write and rewrite a script for 15 years
“Jason has the same weakness as the Aliens in Signs”
**ding**
Not bad for Robert Englund's last role as Krueger. A lot of fans didn't care for Jason's replacement.
the thing was Kane Hodder was on board with playing Jason for the 5th time but Ronny Yu wanted Jason to be taller so since Ken Kirzinger is 6'5 he was chosen to be Jason Voorhees instead
Jason's replacement wasn't bad it was just like.......why?
uumm actually, it wasnt his last role as kreuger. that was on the goldbergs episode, i believe it was called mr knifey hands
You’re forgetting he donned the finger knives one more time for a cameo in the Goldbergs!
Me neither I was fine with Jason he’s just Jason, so what if he has a droopy eye James he’s still Jason
I actually love the idea with the eyes for Jason, makes him much more expressive for me.
Freddy vs. Jason has got 3 kill counts.
*it truly is the ultimate showdown*

The way he pronounced Kelly Rowland's last name is making me cringe so hard.
I like when James counts the “imaginary bodies” (you all know what I mean) because he makes it a legit KILL count. I appreciate all the work this man does!
I guess this means that when he recounts the nightmare franchise he would count the hanging bodies in Kristen’s dream
Do you like hurting other people
@@idwiw172 ?
He only counts them and traces of bodies in movies that have not too many of them. Or (for example in Jason X) when he likes the imaginary kills (He counted the Virtual girls in the end, but not the characters in the virtual fight at the beginning of Jasons killing spree on the spaceship)
No matter how many times I rewatch this kill count, the phrase "Fix your world's framerate, bitch" brings out a big chuckle out of me. Such an amazing line
