@@thehonestwatchdealer Indeed, I am passionate about ROLEX and I have many sporty models, but I bought a 1908 in yellow gold white dial, it is magnificent and I don't understand why we don't talk about this type of watch. Thank you for what you do
These guys are becoming irrelevant.. watches are getting back to a place where you can just buy from an authorise dealer because you like the watch rather than a middle man.
There will always be a place for second hand dealers. Many models trade under rrp, means you as a consumer can get a better deal from a secondary market source💡
@@andrewm9669first things first these middlemen overprice the watch market and authorise dealers sells second hand watches too for better prices .. and it is “used and approved”. With these guys there will be always be the risk that it is fake or it is stolen or faulty.. when you are spending good amount of money for quality it’s always advisable to do it the sensible way and the safest way.
@@trinitythoughts have you seen the price of the Rolex Certified Pre-owned watches? I've bought many watches from my AD, and I've bought many from one secondary dealer, I know and trust, I've got nothing but good things to say. Some, I've paid a premium to have watches today, a couple were under rrp from the secondary dealer. I'm not trying to squeeze an investment out of the watches, although in my 22/23 years buying, I'm up, way up in investment terms! I'm 41, when I started I bought my first Rolex submariner for half price from a secondary market dealer, I was young then, without pots of cash. It made sense to buy the cheapest I could find, it was second hand from Hong Kong via a pawn shop in Miami, my mates uncle owned the shop in Miami and I trusted him. Watch and papers, no box. Sub ref 14060m. Still my favourite watch. Both channels offer different benefits. Secondary dealers prices move with market forces, an example, I have a white gold sub, I love it. I bought it from my AD in 2021 for 33k, it's now listed by Rolex for 37k, I can buy it from the secondary market for 28k. Where is the better deal? You might say the secondary market, you're not wrong, but from another perspective you're not right. I've been offered other watches off the back of that Sub, exclusive watches that have increased in value x3, x4 x5 times. So, I've lost a few grand, you should see it, I've worn the he'll out of that sub, it's scratched and marked, From the secondary, I bought a platinum Daytona for 30k in 2016, it's worth 75k today. I have bought Pateks that to get from the AD, I have to buy 2 grand complications, in other words around 200-250k, those watches the AD want to sell me lose 30-40%. I've jumped the Patek queue by stumping up the cash, not jumped throughly hoops, and not bought grand comps, that don't want enough to buy in order to get the pieces I do. I think your perspective is not right of secondary market dealers. They are there to make a margin, that's their business and they provide a service. There will always be people that need to sell, thankfully I've only ever bought, I'm fortunate. But you are right, there will be rotten apple dealers, but that's the same in every industry. I remember when the internet started, my mum wouldn't buy anything as she thought someone would take all her money and not provide the good or service. She was wrong about the internet, it's done alright for commerce, or so I've heard. When you mention buying the safest way, you sound a bit like my mum at the dawn of the internet. If you do your research, or you are recommended dealers by people you trust. I've found them to be great if you are serious about the watch hobby, they can be tremendous to build collections. Sorry for the long message, if you've read this far, I have many experiences with ad's and secondary market dealers. Terrible experiences with AD's, probably more than the other way around. But... first things first, or last things last. AD's and secondary market dealers, they're both middlemen.
@@trinitythoughts primary (Authorised Dealers) or secondary market dealers, are both middlemen. Have you seen the price of Rolex Certified Pre Owned via your AD? If not, it's higher prices than the secondary market. I've had better deals from the secondary market, and I've lost money on watches from my AD. There will always be people that need to sell a watch, there will always be a need for secondary market dealers as long as people buy watches from the primary market.
Rolex watches are for very sad people who normally do not stand out in everyday life. They think that if they have saved up an expensive Rolex that they count in society.
Your Rolex says that you have been suckered and paid too much money from secondary market scums, that you should have bought an Omega, which is so much superior anyway.
@@WH-hi5ew Depends on the model, the Constellation, DeVille, Semaster 300 Heritage, Railmaster, or the Speedmaster Professional Hesalite are very restrained. Unlike, Rolex you can pick them up anywhere, and are not tainted by scalpers and scums who try to sell you a second hand watch for more than the retail price.
@@ultrasonicradiation Overall I think Omega has too many iterations and the designs (apart from Speedy) is not that great. No scalpers because there is less demand than Rolex. I have tried on a few Omegas.. and brought a vintage Seamaster... but sold it. Concluded that neither Rolex or present-day Omega are my thing. 90s Dynamic 3 had some nice design ideas though. Omega is really another luxury Swiss watch company selling bling at high prices.
@@WH-hi5ew Ur talking about all luxury Swiss watches, they are all selling bling at high prices. From the Quartz Crisis to the present day, this is the description of the luxury watch industry. If you want price-to-performance, get a G Shock or an Apple Watch.
Trading cards and Sports Memorabilia are changing hands for millions and people are starving to death all over the world. There’s corruption, theft and abuse all around so people being able to buy cars, watches, houses, clothes and food shouldn’t be upsetting to you.
@@rvsmairspace6742 lots of other watch channels with other stuff though... I watch with mild interest and no intention of buying any of this overpriced Rolex bling (I suspect thats the majority of us)
Dumbest thing I ever heard about the hulk.... I had that when it was a dog and no one was buying these. This guy talks about some hype clients that just learned what a hulk was during these last 5 years
For me Rolex is a toxic brand now and and like a lot of other things these days it’s all down to the lnternet,I have worn this brand since 1975 & just sold the last remaining one in my collection last month, they mean nothing to me .
Interesting. I’ve been consolidating from a variety of watch brands to only Rolex. Just love the classic, simple designs. Don’t like the sales processes but the watches are great. A 10K watch in another brand just doesn’t feel the same. Not sure why.
Unfortunately they say you have no taste in actual quality and don't value your time or money and would rather over pay for poor quality just to try and look successful. Not try to get the best value for money instead of a wannabe status symbol. Coming from someone who's previously owned 5 Rolex watches snd sold them when realised hiw bad quality they actually are and are over hyped.
There are some truth in some statements, but unfortunately, you don’t have the slightest idea about what the term “quality” actually mean. Rolex has a high quality, but high quality does not translate to durability, great design or value for money.
Buying from people like him is a risk because you don’t know if they are real watches or if they are stolen watches.. it’s just not worth the risk. Take your money to a Authorise dealer
You can check if the watch was stolen using the serial number. I believe there is a web for that with global database. Police also has something similar
Don’t be ridiculous. I have my issues with him but the idea that a dealer like this would put his business in jeopardy by selling fakes is crazy. Of course it could happen by accident occasionally but he wouldn’t have much of a business if he didn’t have the ability to recognise fakes given he has to pay for them first and take the risk and if he can’t tell it’s a fake and it slips you’ll probably never know either. As for selling stolen watches then again absolutely not worth it.

3:00 were you watching Cheyne Walls’ channel ?
A watch doesn’t say anything about you. It’s just to tell time and date. Are people so shallow that they need things feel good.
Short answer: Yes.
Yes people are shallow, that’s the foundation of luxury goods business.
Submariner no date is quite spot on lol
Haha thanks mate, I know my clients 🤣🙌🏻
No love for the yachtmaster? 😢
No, it’s not a hot item on the grey, so why sprook it.
Agree on all except no date submariner. Still not stealthy. And it will be noticed like all other submariners.
I saw a lady wearing a platinum Daytona in the pub last week. I never knew that they were so small. Way too small for my wrists.
Super expensive, cant tell the date and weigh like a brick at 286 gms. I'll pass too.
How about panda daytona?
Sub and Pepsi r theee best. Thnk u
Two truly iconic models aren’t they mate 👌🏻
I only came for the platinum 1908. Now I'll never know who I am.
Haha I’ll be covering more models in a future episode mate, so stay tuned 🙌🏻
@@thehonestwatchdealer Indeed, I am passionate about ROLEX and I have many sporty models, but I bought a 1908 in yellow gold white dial, it is magnificent and I don't understand why we don't talk about this type of watch. Thank you for what you do
If im honest my watch collection including my Rolex day date champagne says i have more money than sense.
Rolex OP 36mm purple.
So, I've lost a few grand, you should see it, I've worn the he'll out of that sub, it's scratched and marked,
From the secondary, I bought a platinum Daytona for 30k in 2016, it's worth 75k today.
No because grey market dealers make money on every transaction. They will buy low and mark up under retail.
Prefer date sub
Obvi the Explorer I is the sleeper in all of this.
Really great model!
Any rolex wearer tells me you wasted your money on a sub par watch.
We get it you can’t afford one
Seems like you are running out of content. 😌
Nicely presented video I enjoyed this one 👌
Thanks for watching Mark, glad you liked this one 🙌
@@thehonestwatchdealerthe "why you like a particular watch" is quite an interesting topic for watch videos.
I know what an expensive Rolex says to me about some fellas, they’re dr*g dealers 😂 .. nice analogy though 👍
Not impressing anyone with a rolex.
Bingo… quite the opposite actually.
@@BufanMuayThai worn by bunch of muppets
Rolex watches are for very sad people who normally do not stand out in everyday life. They think that if they have saved up an expensive Rolex that they count in society.
Your Rolex says that you have been suckered and paid too much money from secondary market scums, that you should have bought an Omega, which is so much superior anyway.
Omegas have good movements but seem (like Rolex) also to be quite blingy these days unfortunately...
Deep sea challenge daily? Can’t see it
The GMT root beer and Daytona ghost are the best for me. Maybe the full rose gold Day date for the older me in the future.
Two utterly stunning models aren’t they mate! The full rose gold Day Date is such a classic 🙌🏻
Your Rolex actually says you are brand conscious, know nothing about watches and easily impressed by marketing BS.
Or perhaps you just like how they look ?

Best Submariner: Hulk
Best GMT Master II: Pepsi
Best Daytona: Panda

Does he ever talk about anything else than Rolex?
Dont think so... he's a Rolex grey market dealer...plus it gets the clicks online.
@@WH-hi5ew Gets so boring though
I have one Rolex GMT Master 2 "Rootbeer" in my collection now... and that's it. Can't get rid of the brand completely. 😂😂
You little ray of sunshine, you.
@@abusadorucithey can also sell you a watch with the wrong papers. Just saying
I don't like Rolex and don't own one, so I guess my phantom watch is silent
Sprite?
Such a special combination, I’ll be covering more models in a future episode mate, so stay tuned…🙌🏻
The only thing that Rolex says is "This idiot does not deserve to have such money"
Jealousy is a terrible thing.
Your Rolex says if everyone was buying a Casio calculator watch you’d own 5!!!
The two tone Daytona white dial is 99.9% ladies? So only one in a thousand bought are worn by men? Ok mate!!!! 🫤
According to him, there are a million rather than 100 in a 'percent'.
Daytona has for some time now being favoured by the ladies due to its small size. That’s about the only thing in this video he got right.
