I cant believe no one has suggested "Sugar" by Sleep Token yet. His voice is so powerful towards the end, and the buildup is so well done. Sugar is definitely a much more linear song, but god does it slap.
I can never listen to this song without closing my eyes and swaying especially everything from the line "beneath a stormy sea" it's just so smooth and Vessels voice is just 👌
As far as the lore goes, Vessel's lyrics all revolve around a deity called Sleep, who he met in a dream and creates music as a form of worship. There is some talk of Sleep being another form of an ancient Norse goddess (I forget which one), so it seems the lyrics are about Vessel's relationship with Her. The brilliant thing about his writing is that it can be interpreted many ways, so the average person can relate to it, even if we've never been caught in the grip of an ancient deity.
Some songs on the second half of the new album really resonate with me as breakup/love/relationship themed songs. So this goddess has to be something man 😂

This band is honestly something else, from the captivating atmospheric dream-like beauty to the intense breakdowns. Vessel's voice is incredible and the drums are pretty crazy when you focus on them during those breakdowns. I'm glad you and so many others can relate to how I feel about these lads. Truly insane. A couple of my favourites I'd suggest listening to are Jaws and The Offering.

I had the pleasure of seeing Sleep Token in Australia just over a week ago and they actually opened with this song. Now, I've seen a lot of live music in my life, but nothing compares to the atmosphere that I experienced that night. Pure, haunting beauty. Worship!

They do have a variety of sound, from intense songs like "Vore" to calming tracks like "Aqua Regia", so if one song doesn't work, set it aside and try the others if you liked this track. I'd personally recommend "Granite" and "Alkaline" as they have the closest sound to Chokehold

FINALLY!!! I've been stuck in a ST black hole since I learned about their existence last year. Can't even listen to much other music anymore. It has been such a wonderful journey to experience every song from the early beginnings to the latest releases from the upcoming album and it has also been very therapeutic for me. Every song has lyrics that hit a bullseye somewhere, giving me so much to think about when I can't sleep. Every time I listen, I am able to hear more, go deeper, and get completely devoured by the music. I have never experienced this with any other band. Ever. Yes, I'm obsessed. Do I care? No. I'm just waiting for the May 19 album release. That's all I care about right now. lol

Sometimes when you're trying to explain how you feel about something off the cuff, trying to turn it into a cohesive, tangible thing with words doesn't work until you have the time to think through it. A couple of my favorites that I'd recommend checking out that I don't see are "Granite" and "Bloodsport" (the album version, but you could check out the room below version as well, they hit different) Thank you for doing what you do, being who you are, and bringing laughter to peoples lives!

I think their 2 newest songs are the epitome of the breadth of their abilities. To release Vore and then follow it with DYWTYLM is absolute musical whiplash but they both feel like exactly what this band should be doing. Going back to the beginning of their catalog thru to now you can see both an evolution and an absolute loyalty to their own sound. They are my absolute favorite discovery.

Saw them headline the Hammersmith Apollo this year with Northlane as the support. It was a dream lineup as Northlane were insane and then Sleep Token came out and took it to a whole other level. I've been gigging for 25 years and that performance ranks within my top 3
Alex I too have just barely learned about 2 friggin incredible bands,Sleep Token and a band I have absolutely fell in love with very quickly and I am actually seeing them soon in Boston, Avatar.they grabbed me faster than any other band in a long time
My kids and I love Sleep Token. The Summoning is our favorite song. We have had conversations about how this makes us feel. It’s like being on a rollercoaster on acid or mushrooms and tripping colors. This band makes you feel so many things all at once. I’ve never found another band like them.
