There's also an Avatar recipe book which you can find some interesting lore in there. For the "noodles" which I think is more like a mochi dough you can make them sweet instead of adding them to a bowl because it seems like they were meant to be eaten by themselves.
we need a sequel where you make that one water tribe noodle soup dish and spicy fire noodles. They look delish. I am pretty sure the water tribe noodle one is from the comics tho@@mich_mengo
fun fact: Iroh's favorite tea is actually ginseng tea. Jasmine is zuko's favorite tea, thus he named the shop "Jasmine Dragon" a combination of him and zuko
12:29 Actually, it was revealed that jasmine is ZUKO’s favourite tea, which was really sweet because it showed just how much Iroh cared about him to name the tea shop in his honour (Sorry, HONOURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
I have an avatar cookbook! Its got about 60 recipes, even a tea chapter and its devided in 4 chapters for the elements. The whole airbender chapter is vegetarian and the fire chapter are all spicy!! Its so fun
I feel like to make a tasty version of the onion banana juice, you could go for an onion based soup with plantains, which are like bananas but not as sweet- perfect for both sweet and savory foods!
Love how you turned the Avatar Day doughs into noodles! And they look so cute too. I personally loved the Netflix live-action series and the food moments did not disappoint, esp. in the Omashu episode.
Loved this! Your commitment to the onion banana juice is commendable. If you balance the microplane on the rim of your bowl, it gives you a little bit more stability. That way you can grate with downward pressure. Much easier than holding it aloft! If you're grating a larger object like an orange, hold it still in your hand and move the plane upside down over the top of it instead. Hope that helps!
For the micro grate I usually hold it down against the bowl rim and then grate, that way, it's more stable and a hopefully less chance of grating my fingers!
This may sound a little spoiled, but I asked for a micro grate for Christmas and got two, one from Microplane, and one off-brand. I tested both and honestly, the real trick is just buying the one from Microplane. I don't know why, they look virtually the same, both are sharp, but the difference in use is insane.
For "onion banana juice" you might have been better off with a Lassi based recipe made with plain yoghurt, maybe with not quite such a ripe banana, or perhaps a banana curry sauce, which would contain both onion and banana but with spices to take the edge off.
I loved this so much! Your calm narration and the excellent cooking was so soothing. I once tried to make fire flakes but I used candied spicy bacon. It turned out pretty well, but the sweet/savory flavor was a bit too much. Cornflakes was a great idea, I bet the more neutral starting ground let the spices really shine.
The Aang noodles look so cute but they also look delicious! I'm so curious about the egg custard tarts, now! I'd be exhausted after making so many recipes in one day...this is great!! I'm glad you got to fulfill your childhood dream!!!
I'm super impressed by the way you made all the foods look delicious and make them look accurate to the show. Also, thanks for the calm atmosphere. It's really nice to not have people randomly screaming in my face about the food, y'know? Great job! :)
omg the time and effort you probably took to make all of these meals is mind-boggling!!! also i love egg custard tarts and this vid made me crave them ;')
WOW this is one of those videos that you click out of curiosity thinking its just another viral influencer and then once you are done watching this professionally made cooking video you realise it only has 20k views, and even that isnt enough to make your jaw drop, you go see how the rest of the videos are doing and they have even less views. This is criminal, you deserve so much more recognition. Aim for the stars because im 100% sure you are gonna make it!
I just made the stewed sea prune soup with my boyfriend earlier today and we both loved it. It had a good balance of flavours and textures and was the perfect thing for a winter day.
So fun!! It’s so cool to see people make food and drinks from shows! I watched the ATLA live action with my dad and while we agreed how good it looked, we also agreed it wasn’t as good as the original and began watching the show agitan for like the tenth time.
This video was so calming to watch and listen to. Like a balm for the nerves. Thank you for making it, I hate cooking but I might try some of these haha :)
Your foods are soooo different than mine! Rice, scallions and cabbage are all such familiar things in my life, but my rice porridge would usually be sweet and made with milk, and I have never browned scallions before when topping something with them, and I would never put cabbage on rice. Huh! It's so interesting to learn new ways to prepare the same familiar ingredients!!
This is the best of these videos I’ve seen!! So cute and true to the series!! Totally making avatar noodles for my family!! Also!! Rest your microplane on the bowl you’re grating into, and try to stay in a small area, verses using the whole thing, so that it’ll push itself out a little better.
This is so CUTE! Finished watchthrough number (I don't even know) of Avatar yesterday, and this is absolutely perfect. It's such a childhood defining show, this is so cool to see the food come right to life! Keep up the great work!
I’m going to make those cornflakes one of these days cause it’s something easy and has the potential to taste yummy. Also I love the music. It really gives the video a warm, comforting vibe.
The fire flakes are also really good if you put a bit of sweet, like a spicy granola. We put honey and chipotle sauce with chili powder and bake like you would granola and it's so addictive!
All of these look fantastic!! Just watching made me hungry! RESPECT for the commitment it took to cut out all those little arrows, noodle Aang turned out so cute. You have such a relaxing voice, watching your video was a wonderful end to my day.
I love this so much! I want all of it! Also, for your microplane, don’t rest it against the bowl, and use gentle pressure. And if you eat garlic a lot, I’d recommend using a garlic press instead of a microplane. Or just a plain grater, as they’re less violent lol. Thanks for the video
To use a small grater you just put it on top of a bowl so it has support and you can apply little force and it is stable. Simple as that! Hope it helps
the microplane can be leant against the bowl flat instead of being held in the air- this makes it a lot more stable and you can press a lot harder with the garlic and such
Amazing video! Everything about it was incredible. Definitely want to try the duck. But I loved how everything was edited etc and just the days of eating avatar foods…idk. It was just so peaceful. Thanks! Flameo!!
I love seeing you cook! I don’t rly like cooking but I would like to learn haha and you make me want to start. Would you make beginner recipes videos that are easy to make? Would love it! ❤
this is the sweetest comment!! that sounds like an interesting idea, i'll see what i can do but in the meantime, i share a lot of beginner recipes in my shorts videos 😊

I was surprised that you made Banana Onion juice. I recommend caramelizing your onion for a longer time and adding sugar, preferably brown. I made a caramelized onions and apples puree the other day and it tasted really great. No sharpness, no allium flavor at all.
thanks for the tip! i actually didn't want to fully caramelize them because i wanted it to still have the yellow-ish color of the animated one but no doubt it would taste MUCH better haha
9:45 Just use slight pressure, no need to aggressively push on it, the grater will do the work! ^^ you can also set it down at an angle (make sure its firm and cant really wiggle) and then grate! :D
This video is probably the best on UA-cam right now. Never say that you are "cringe." Anyone that willing prepares Onion Banana juice and drinks it for fans, you are next to God level status in my book. I couldn't imagine making that, let alone trying it. On the microplane, in my opinion, get rid of it. It's a lot more work to mince with a knife or spoon, but I cut myself so many times, I just gave up using one. It's not worth the messed up fingerprints.
I always imagined fire flakes to be made of puffed rice because it is inspired by imperial Japan and they would not have had corn. Every UA-camr that has attempted this used corn flakes and I’m kinda disappointed. I need an adaptation that is made of puffed rice and is actually spicy
The quick and easy version of her recipe would be to substitute with Rice Krispies. But that's no fun and doesn't sound especially flakey, so I learned to make puffed rice today. Corn has a warmer flavor profile and the flakes are thinner than the puffed rice turned out to be, so I suspect the flavors blended better for her than they did for my attempt. Her seasoning mix is good, it just wasn't as strong or hot as I expected it to be. I refrained from adding more heat to keep it mild for someone in my household, but it's a very flexible mix that can easily be made hotter to taste. I did half again the portion to cover the thicker flakes. Though, full disclosure, I didn't give the flakes the initial oil coating because they still had some oil on them from the frying process. I tried them with the seasoning both before and after putting them in the oven for 15 mins and it didn't make a lot of difference since they were already warm. The process is relatively similar, in part, to the version in the official ATLA cookbook which calls for frying tapioca pearls instead of rice.
i'm so happy that you actually put the recipes of these mouthwatering foods in the description so we can make them ourselves. Thanks so much!!
of course! if you end up trying any, i'd love to hear how it turns out 😊

@@casperrabbit7254 when Zhao invites Iroh and Zuko to his base, Iroh says "do you have any Gingseng tea? That's my favorite"
